Ive never had a bad experience with Safford Mazda and all the folks are always friendly and saying hello when inside. A lot of dealerships will tend to give you a cold shoulder if youre not directly involved with them but this one feels like a family every time you walk through the doors.I have bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of parts here over the years and Robbie Payne is one of the best in the business. I have yet to find another parts guy as good as he is anywhere in the country.

My experience with Stafford Mazda was excellent. I just moved from NY and needed to find a new honest dealership and I’m so happy to say that I’ve found one in Stafford Mazda. The service process was wonderful. The staff is so professional and helpful and explained everything to me. They kept me updated on my car at all times. Adam and the owner went above and beyond to make sure my first service appointment was a positive one. Honest, trustworthy and professional are just a few words to describe the staff and this dealership.

Erik was a great service associate, friendly, responsive and quick to handle an ever changing situation. I was in for 2 recalls and we were having a problem with the Mazda Corp. due to the fact my vehicle was originally from Canada. He assured me all would be fine. What I thought was going to take another day of scheduling turned out to be instead an in and out of the service center in less then 2 hours. As I was waiting to find out about my car, I overheard another customer stating how much he appreciated the service he had received to his service associate. That speaks volumes to me. :)

When I first walked into the showroom a salesman was too busy on his cellphone to offer assistance. Finally Augan approached me and provided enough information to receive the sale. The low rating is because of my experience with Finance and the follow-up. As the deal was closing and I was signing my paperwork, I decided not too purchase the additional products that were offered. I explained why and then I was told by Josh or Jason (cant remember which is his name) that the information I was told was wrong and he COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN! No eye contact, very matter of fact, demanor was unprofessional and to make matters worse,No thank you for your purchase, or glad you chose Safford. I definitely felt like a unit when leaving Safford. I must add that if inventory was not low, Safford would not have received my business. In addition, after the sale, I contacted my salesperson and ask for a callback, I received responses through text messages. I sent him an email and asked for a call to explain the plate transfer and its been two weeks and I havent heard from him. Maybe your experience will be better but I was GREATLY disappointed by the ending and follow-up. I believe if I were a male, I would not have received this treatment.

Incredibly transparent when it comes to choosing a vehicle and payment options. Everyone at Stafford was so kind and welcoming. They answered all my questions without making me feel like I was wasting someones time. Most importantly they communicated clearly and were very courteous of my time. I am very displeased with this dealership. We used to get free oil changes and state inspections from previous owners because we were loyal customers and purchased many vehicles. The current owners choose not to honor that. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will never deal with Stafford again. It is not the same Mazda dealership that it once was!

I had a stellar experience this week working with the Safford Dealership family. I reached out to Troy at the Jeep dealership in search of a new compact SUV. After talking I was not interested in any of the Jeep products, so he referred me to the GM of the Mazda store. I met with Tony, Ray and Andre who all were very polite and professional. Andre informed me of all I needed to know about the vehicle on the test drive, Ray and I were able to agree on a great price. While waiting for finance Ray also purchased lunch for me. I then met Kim in customer service who was very friendly and gave details about protectants for the SUV. Jonathan in finance then thoroughly explained the details of purchase. Andre also helped me set up my Mazda App for my brand-new SUV. Erick and Katelynn from services was did a great job taking care of my Mazda needs for my certified pre owned Mazda CX5 2018! They went and above beyond. Provided me a with a video clip that gave the run down of EXACTLY what was wrong with my vehicle which I believe was very informative and efficient so I can see for myself what needed to be done. I wish every auto mechanic and Mazda dealership had a team like theirs. I highly recommend Safford Mazdas service department. But as for their sales team I honestly would not know. I purchased my vehicle from another Mazda dealership in New York. I am not local to Virginia area and yet they still took great care of my needs.

The service itself was good. The staff is super friendly. It took a while but thats probably because they were so busy. The main issue Ive had was the last few times Ive gone there, when my car is returned to me it smells strongly of body odor. Other than that, everything else is fine.

We know more about Kia dealership having been going here for service for the past three years, but Mazda didnt miss a beat. Profesional, helpful, and friendly. Working with the team of Safford Mazda has been my best experience to date! Everyone on the team is happy to help and provides the best customer service. They greet you coming in the door without the car sales pressure. We enjoyed the experience so much we purchased 2 cars from them in one week.I was upside down on my car (because of an accident) and Safford worked with me to get my payments where I wanted them to be. Their posture toward customer service is NOT manufactured, its legit. I hope not to have to buy a car again for a very long time but I will definitely come back to Safford if necessary and refer all of my friends and family to them.Last but certainly not least is the service department. I was an hour late for my routine service and Ron made sure I was taken care of. What I appreciate most, they dont make up issues with your car! I only have two words to describe my experience with Safford Mazda. CUSTOMER. SERVICE.My wife and I bought a brand new 2021 Mazda 3 last weekend. (Gorgeous, AND fun to drive)That’s not the end of the story, though. We had a scheduling conflict come up when it came time to have our exterior ceramic protection package applied, and the General Sales Manager, Adam Marlowe, bent over backwards to accommodate us. He had a member of his staff bring my wife a loaner car at our house 20 miles away, take our car to their people to get the work done, THEN had our car brought back and they picked up the loaner.We went through several dealerships before we found the level of service that we expect, and I promise that Safford Mazda will not disappoint.

Great service from the dealership. Scheduling was a breeze, a next day appointment was made available, and they were very thorough in taking care of the repair. They were also proactive in discovering a factory recall that had not been addressed by the vehicle’s previous owner - which they took are of at no cost to me. Finally they provided my daughter with free transportation to and from the dealership (she is a college student and this was very helpful). Excellent service experience.

Went there to look at a used suv. The whole buying process took about 3 hours. The windshield had a small chip in it and was told they would fix it. Was suppose to get a call to set up an oil change appointment. Never heard from anyone on both. After getting the car from clean up the windshield had finger marks and smudges all over it. Got tired of waiting and just took the car home

Stefan was very pleasant to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the car we were purchasing. When we had a issue with some minor things, he took care of them.Now, we have bought plenty cars in the past, which we dread. Some of it was great at Safford Mazda, some was the not so great.Some of our issues were, the car was still dirty when it was supposedly being preparedWe were there for over 2 hours. Fiance guy got very rude, once we declined all the extras they try to up sale you. In all, it wasnt too bad.

Customer service at Safford Mazda is honestly unlike any dealership I’ve taken a vehicle to. I have my 2017 MX-5 serviced here & have always walked away VERY happy. Since my car sits lower to the ground than most, I’m always worried about the front bumper scraping over uneven pavement - I have physically watched the service staff go out of their way to take extra precautions to accommodate my car which gives me SO much peace of mind. All service is preformed very quickly & there is NEVER any pressure to buy anything unnecessary which I’ve unfortunately experienced at other dealerships. Ron has gone above & beyond every time to make me feel welcomed and is one of the reasons I will continue to bring my car here.Love this place!

I spoke with Adam(sales mgr) over the phone about my needs and concerns in buying a new car, and he convinced me to come in to see what he could do for me. (4.5 stars) Living an hour away, we were able to work with Safford efficiently over phone and email to reach a deal on our new Mazda that beat out lour ocal dealers. The team was attentive and strived to make our experience the best that it could be. They did not try to sell is on a bunch of extras on site, simply providing the information and then letting us make the decision. They were not at all forceful and that was much appreciated. All we needed to do was drive up for our trade in and to sign the paperwork on site and then Safford delivered the new car to our house. Everything went smooth! They even put some road trip treats in the new car! The only concern we had was that working over the phone/email we had some misunderstandings on when our car was going to be delivered. Although it all worked out great in the end, having more clear details thoughout the process would have been nice so that we were on the same page.

Great experience with Brenda and the team at this dealership. Welcomed me as a walk-in to get a recall fixed. They listened to my concerns and completed the recall within the time they estimated. The waiting area is awesome, lots to read, great coffee and Pauls Bakery donuts were available that day. Very pleasant experience. My salesperson, Becca, was so much fun, very clear on details and an overall pleasure to work with. Her counterpart Adam was also easy to talk to and very clear. However, I felt very pressured and almost worked over by the time the deal was done. I was sent a letter in the mail that basically said “good time to sell and buy a car”. I went in and received below KBB value on my trade for one, which led me still owing money after the pay off. Rolling that into my loan, price of the car, and all the warranties, etc. I did not end up with a steal, but instead almost double the loan I walked in with for the same car, 3 years newer. Again, great people, tons of fun to work with, but I walked away with a terrible taste in my mouth looking back at the schemey marketing ploy. I know I can trade in and trade up on my car...? Sending me a letter warrants the thought process that I’m going to come out way ahead, but I did not.

I found two CX-5s I was interested in and decided to drive up from Richmond to visit this dealer. I wasn’t familiar with the dealer’s brand, but I just had a good feeling about it and I definitely was not disappointed. I felt like this process, relative to my other experiences, was smooth and efficient. I never felt like time was wasted here and am super thankful for that.I worked with Andre. He did a great job handling ALL of my questions and he made sure I found the exact car I wanted. He also did a fantastic job helping with my anxiety over purchasing a new vehicle. He was personable, but not pushy (perfect combination). I have purchased several cars from several dealerships and this, by far, has been THE BEST experience I’ve had. As a single woman, I often worry that a dealer will try to take advantage of me, but I never felt like they were trying to get over on me. I even gave them a hard time about the options (GAP, extended warranty, paint protection, etc.), but Ray and Josh did an AMAZING job determining what worked best for me and my budget. There was also a really sweet blonde woman that helped me, but I unfortunately did not catch her name. There were NO high pressure sales tactics or anything. It was just a calm, straight negotiation. What a blessing!I have been a BMW driver for many years and was pretty scared of letting go of the brand, but so far I’m VERY pleased with the switch and I feel like this was the best choice. I feel confident this Mazda will be in it for the long haul and the driving dynamics are honestly similar.I HIGHLY recommend this dealership!!! Ask for Andre; he will take care of you! Out of all the Mazda dealerships I have visited in my life. Safford Mazda is by far the worst. The experience from beginning to end deserves the lowest rating possible. A few months ago, I wanted to give Safford Mazda a try as my local dealership was completely booked. I reserved my appointment online, and in the notes section online I gave very detailed instructions on what I needed done as I was sending someone on my behalf who isn’t car very savvy because I couldn’t take off from work. I received a phone call asking me what work needed to be done. I guided them to the detailed notes I added when reserving online. $1800 dollars later, once I got home. I noticed the tire installed wasn’t balanced properly. Heavy vibrations over 55MPH, and the door sensors inside the driver side and passenger door handles that unlock the doors stopped working. The dealer replaced the front passenger door latch to fix the car alarm issue which caused the sensor issue. In the 2011 Mazda 6 owner’s manual on pages 3-8 and 3-9 it clearly shows my car has a request switch button to lock all the doors on the front of the door handle and sensors under the door handle to unlock all the doors. Please keep this in mind for later in this review. I drove one hour and thirty minutes back to Safford Mazda to have them fix my tire and fix and the sensors on the door handles to unlock the car. The service advisor admitted the tire was balanced incorrectly and tells me that my car doesn’t have unlock sensor under the door handle. He presses the request switch outside of the door handle to lock the doors and looks at me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. I try to explain to the service advisor that I have an older Mazda which has a request switch outside on the handle to lock the doors and a sensor under the door handle to unlock the car. He wouldn’t listen and looked at me as if I was stupid. After continuously explaining the situation to him, he finally says that he will have a technician look at it. The service advisor returns and reports I need a cluster which cost $1045 new and $675 used. Frustrated that this was getting nowhere, I just left wondering what else they ripped me off with and go home and contact Mazda North American Operations. I explain the situation, point them to the Mazda service manual and voice my concerns about this dealership. Mazda North American Operations agrees with me and calls Safford Mazda and I to schedule a time to fix this. It’s clear that replacing the door latch, Safford Mazda messed up the sensor. On the call, Mazda North American Operations tells a lady who I assume is the lead Safford service advisor the situation. She is upset and says on the call that the she spoke to her service advisor and my car doesn’t have such a sensor. And tries to make it seem like I didn’t know what I was talking about. The Mazda North American Operations center advises the lady from Safford that I was on the call and was shocked that they didn’t seem to care or offer an apology. Safford simply ignored me. So, I finally tell the Safford service advisor turn to page 3-8 and 3-9 in the service manual and request another dealer fix this issue. At this point I never want to come back but was told that the repairs needed to be done at Safford Mazda. We agree on the phone that I could drop the car off on Saturday. A day later, I get a call from Safford Mazda requesting to bring the car in Friday. Now I must take off work and drive in on the worst day to drop off the car. After a two-hour drive, I was told that the reasoning for the appointment change was that they didnt know how to fix the issue and needed to call North American Operations center to get help. The car was eventually fixed, the service advisor noted that they didn’t do anything except take the door off and reconnect everything. Appears a simply fix turned into a huge nightmare. I will never return to this dealership and will advise anyone, stay away. Very dishonest dealership that charges more for services. Even today as I write this review my car alarm is acting up.

I had a very pleasant experience with this dealer. The salmon Rob was great. His experience and knowledge with car was shown to be very extensive and thorough. He was always prompt to return emails. The Mazda 6 I test drove was a great car. The comfort of the interior and the ride quality are absolute plus. We ultimately purchase a difference vehicle, but the price and quality of the Mazda 6 was great. I highly recommend Mazda of Fredricksburg!!

Went there for my 60,000 mile service on my 2015 Mazda 6. Easy service department to work worth ended up catching that my battery was nearly dead and they unfortunately had to wait for a new shipment of batteries to come in due to high demand. So I was stuck there for several hours to wait. They did offer a shuttle to take me to a place to eat if I had wanted. I declined but appreciated the option. I instead looked around their showroom. All of the salespeople were professional and willing to talk about all options to upgrade or negotiate trade-ins. I also met with GM of the shop while there. He is also extremely professional and does his best to offer you deals to motivate you to buy. I ultimately did not make any purchases or trade ins but Safford Mazda will be one of the first places I look when I am looking to buy again. Looking forward to seeing their new showroom once they demolish the current location and rebuild.

The service department is about simply making money! I took my car for service as a bunch of indicator lights came on at one time and the radio turned on and off. They put it on the computer and told me the battery cable was loose and that the battery was low and needed replaced for $144. When I told them my battery was under warranty, the response was your car also needs ....... which was worth $2000. When questioned about the things they stated the car needed and we did some of them, they said it was not on record that the car was serviced for any of the things on their check list. Cant say anything positive except they serviced the car quickly and I recd a coupon for $15 off an oil change which I needed to mail in to receive the check prior to the oil change.

Today was my first visit at Stafford Mazda in Fredericksburg Virginia (car for an inspection sticker to get the lights checked out and to have my tires rotated. it before I could get a block down the street I got a check tire pressure light on and the light the fog light was still out but they passed the inspection and give me the sticker today. I went back and ask the gentleman what happen he told me that there must be something wrong with the car and the light because his tech checked. He did not apologize but just told me they are short on staff and I could leave it for them to do more damage. I went to sit in my car and he asked me to leave so he could Close the bay. It was 5pm and they close at 6pm. That means I am out $203 with an inspection sticker that says I passed inspection. The light was out when I came and out when I left yet they issued the sticker. Huummmm

The Service Department seems to have changed for the worse since Mazda changed Huber to Safford. I agree with Kathy’s comment below the service department now is all about making money. I brought my car in since I was hearing higher pitch noise while driving. They did a diagnosis and said a wheel bearing went bad and the serpentine belt was starting to leak. I asked if something connected to the belt is leaking and Brenda said the belt was leaking. A belt is for tensioning, it doesn’t leak. After hearing the quoted price for the repairs, I got a quote from a different shop for the wheel bearings at about half the price. I was going to fix the belt myself with my brother but since my Mazda is front wheel drive vs. rear wheel drive (which was easy to fix compared to front wheel) the other shop was thorough in details and also able to replace both the AC/alternator belt and water pump belt since both had to be removed and recommended changing both at the same time and also quoted me at about half the price for two belts. I told Mazda I didn’t need them to fix my car and Brenda said it would be $140 for the diagnosis which I was fine with since I was still saving about $500. I went to pick up my car and there was an additional Misc. charge for $27.11 which Brenda said was for driving the car. Apparently that’s not part of the diagnosis for $140. How do you add some additional misc. charge after quoting the price for something that should already be part of the diagnosis? I brought my car to Mazda several times before when it was owned by Huber and the service rep was very friendly and helpful and drove my car around all 3 times but since they couldn’t replicate my intermittent issue, they didn’t charge my anything to drive the car around and when they were able to replicate the issue they replaced the part for free.

A quick and easy oil change / tire rotation. I brought my new 2019 CX-5 in for its first service (free with the purchase of a new car!) and there was a very minor misunderstanding about whether it was a 5k service vs. 10k service. This was the best car buying experience. A good deal of the process in buying this car was done online and in advance of showing up at the dealership. When I arrived, the car was washed, detailed and ready for a test drive. The paperwork was ready and I was in and out in 90 minutes. I have never before purchased a car this quick. They offered me a fair trade in price for my car and they were asking a fair price for the Mazda. There was no haggling or dithering. This is my first Mazda purchase and after this experience, I would certainly consider a Mazda to replace our current car sometime in the future. The Blake and Michael were a pleasure to deal with and I felt were honest and sincere. They were experts in the process and knew the car extremely well. In fact, Black owns the same car we purchased. I would highly recommend this dealership to my friends and family.

WORST DEALERSHIP IVE EVER BEEN TO I have never experienced going to a dealership and getting treated like this before to people interested in buying a $31,000 car... we were standing around from 6pm to 9:45 at night while the finance people were just whispering behind their desk about us WHILE WE WERE STANDING RIGHT THERE. The guy dealer William was literally going on Facebook and eyeglass websites while we were just waiting... and waiting. This dealership ran my girlfriends credit with a hard inquiry but never told us any financing options. We’ve been calling them for a week and a half straight but no one will answer, we also left a voicemail for the manager who hasn’t returned our call either. You can tell the workers here just want to relax all day and do the bare minimum. Utter disappointment and now she has a hard inquiry for no reason.

Excellent experience! Both the sales person, Rebecca Ross and the sales manager, Blake Curtin, were extremely helpful and personable. There was no pressure, I felt that they showed concern that I received the right amenities for my needs at the price appropriate for my budget. I would definitely recommend Safford Mazda for those interested in one of Mazda’s terrific new cars.

Brought my son to purchase his first car list price online 22000 get here and they say oh it hasn’t updated since we serviced it it’s really 25000 I told them bait and switch is illegal they immediately changed online price while I was there (actually still here seeing if they are going to honor the list price) will give an update soon!Update! They didn’t honor way to treat military members!!!
