Sabastian is working front and back. It was to busy to get serviced. Not managers fault.
Top notch customer service. Sebastian is always eager to help with any situation. Reasonable prices fast service.
I called them to get my tire fixed at 8am and was able to get it serviced 39 minutes later while Firestone told me they couldnt fix it until the next day.NTB was extremely clean, followed all covid-19 protocols. Staff provided great customer service at check-in and checkout.
I called and got a quote for a pair of tires, price was competitive with local business and they had them in stock. Very helpful front desk and service in the shop. Happy with the decision to give them business
Poor customer service, and dishonest. Charged me for a service no done on my vehicle, severely overpriced with poor service and inexperienced mechanics.
Very informative about recommendations but not pushy about them doing the service would recommend them to anyone
Great place for tires a d mechanical work. Sebastián the manager is the bomb and takes care of his customers. I highly recommend!
Went in for new tires, mounting and alignment. Was given a 5:00 pick up time. Dropped off at 2:40 for a 3:00 appointment. Got here at 5:37, knowing it wouldnt be ready. At 7:02, they pulled Jeep around and I paid. I asked if everything was done. I was told yes, but to wait a minute for the desk guy, Jack, to double check. He said they forgot the alignment! Seriously??? They said it would take about 10 minutes to do. Not possible. Every single time I go to a NTB store....I end up waiting Hours beyond what Im told. Will Not be coming back. We have three vehicles. I even cleaned the restroom because it was a mess. Their loss! Jack is fantastic and very apologetic. Its not his fault... he needs to work for a better company!
Very horrible experience, if I could post a photo right now, I would with the guys just standing around. I have a 1 o’clock appt, it’s 1:40 and my car still isn’t on the lift. We received the buy 2 get 2 deal on tires, from CORPORATE, now the office guy here at the shop is telling us that it isnt showing when we paid for it. He keeps telling us he has to fix it for the past hour I’ve heard this guy telling me this. Now he done messed with something where it put 12 tires on our ticket. Like seriously dude I didn’t bring in a tractor trailer. My mother in law is calling and calling and he is refusing to talk to her, supposedly there isn’t a manager present. Well guess what, his employee told us that he is a manager but is telling customers he isn’t one. Who would even promote this guy to be a manager with an attitude like that. NTB needs to let this guy go. To be specific, old man with a cane. You lost my service and I’ll be sure to make sure none of my friends or family members show up at this place. Very sh***y service. And for the owner that is going to be replying, save your time. Fix your employees save your time for that.
Ive been taking all of my vehicles here for over 6 years. Never had any issues. The mechanic Jason Trimble does phenomenal work, is honest, and fair about the work. The front desk guys are very friendly and knowledgeable. Jack seaward is probably the most friendly and remembers who I am even when its been months since Ive been in to the store. If I have questions or concerns hell get me an answer very quickly. Overall great place to take my vehicles.
I called today to price tires and the man that answered told me he had a customer and that he would have to call me back, he called me back within three minutes, but I missed the call as I was getting in the car, to drop the car off. I called him right back and he told me again he had another customer in front of him and he would have to call me back again. It’s now been 40 minutes and I am currently dropping my car off at Discount Tire. I don’t even know if they have a better deal, but they definitely have better customer service!
Jack Seaward is the man! Great service here and we will continue to come here. They offer military and first responder discounts and they continue to take care of us for tires to oil changes to batteries to brakes. I highly recommend.
Great customer service. Dallas the manager goes above and beyond his duty to make and keep the customer happy and satisfied. Best oil change prices in town.
This weekend we had two vehicles serviced (BMW/JEEP). Extremely happy with Dallas, and his crew. Customer service EXCELLENT!!! Definitely repeat customers.
I will come hereHands down the prices less then the dealership where you gotten your vehicle at. Like mine Cadillac
Horrible experience overall, went to get a oil change($87.00) and I waited about 4 hours for them to tell me they couldn’t perform the work because the oil lug was too tight. I then got my keys back and found and my car was never locked and wasn’t out into park! Who just shuts a car off without putting into park? Very unprofessional. I wouldn’t advise anyone to get any work done here.
Ordered tires and had them installed today. I am very happy with the service I received. Everything was done in a timely matter and I asked them to let me know if I needed brake pads and was given an honest answer that they still had plenty of wear left to go. It’s rare to find a service center that doesn’t try to upsell and I will definitely be going back for repeat business. Thank you!
These guys are excellent! On the beginning of a long trip, me and my family got a leak in one of our tires and had to stop here. They took us immediately and gave us a free patch! It was very unexpected and generous. Their facility was very clean and they even had a comfortable lounge for for our three year old to watch cartoons. Highly recommend!
Great experience. I did not have to wait long. Thank to Jack Seaward, I will be a returning customer.
The customer service was excellent however I had a screw in my tire that is covered through my warranty from the tires I brought through the company. I was told that it could not be fixed and that I needed to purchase a new tire. The tire was not in stock so it was would have to be ordered and would take about 4 days to receive. The screw was not on the side wall but on the top threads. I went to another shop that had the tire in stock and once they noticed the tire with the screw in it, they immediately asked why i didnt want the tire fixed. I replied, it can be fixed? They said yes and completed the job and saved me over 200 dollars! I have not had a problem with my tire since then!
Wow! This place is crowded. The wait times are pretty rough if you dont have an appointment and not much better if you do. Got four new tires at an awesome price thanks to some keen searching. However, somehow two of them didnt get balanced. Was able to finally get that done, but took a few weeks to get some time that both of us could make. I would certainly come back, though. I am pleased with the service.
Dont listen and slow. Early morning appointment took 2 hours for a single full size spare to be replaced. Older gentlemen at the front acted like he couldnt be bothered with helping me and after he finally decided to, took him close to 20 min to play with the computer and bring up my appointment. Spare was a brand new tire, they asked if I wanted the old spare with zero mileage back and I said yes. Requested they just throw the spare in the back. Was told no problem. Wasnt till it was too late apparently the next day I noticed and couldnt get it back. Goodyear spare sells for $80-100 resale. Locations inability to listen cost me more then just spare change. Will not return, advising all friends and family through text, social media and passing conversation to stay clear. NTB across the street next to best buy isnt horrible, atleast go there instead. Wish negative stars were possible.
The price was different than quoted over the phone.
Yesterday, 4/11/18, I took my 2014 Cherokee in for a tune up (spark plugs & coil), and an oil change, which included a tire rotation and a few other accessory services. $400+ and more than 2-hours later, after having run some personal errands nearby in the meantime, I went back and picked up the Jeep.I drove to Spotsylvania for a couple tasks, and back to the Burg, thankfully across the street from the Merchant’s Tire where I had gotten service earlier in the day. Upon leaving a shopping plaza, and doing a U-turn with quick acceleration to avoid bogging down on-coming traffic, my vehicle warning systems went haywire. The Throttle Control warning light began flashing. The All Wheel Drive Disabled alert came on. Acceleration with various pressures applied to the gas pedal, became erratic: fast, slow, sluggish - messy.I coasted into the property adjacent to Merchant’s, hobbled to their lot, and pulled forward in front of a space so I could back in. Nope! Reverse wouldn’t work due to the engine warning conditions. Driving forward into a space worked instead. The nice guy at the front desk (a black man in his 40’s, I think) greeted me with visual acknowledgement when I walked in the side door; he was helping another customer at the time. A moment later, the other front desk host (a white guy in his late 20’s) had just come in from the garage area as I walked in. He was my service advisor when the day began. He saw me and asked how he could help.I motioned for him to come outside, explained everything to him, generally as written above. He said he’d get his master technician on the case. This following is the main reason why I’m writing the review.Jason, the Merchant’s master tech, came out, had a brief chat with me, and although he’d never heard of the vehicle symptoms I described, he clearly was not deterred from finding out the cause of the Jeep’s woes.About an hour later, he came back in. He had checked all the work done previously in the day (good plugs and coil), cleaned the throttle body, and run proper diagnostic checks. His suspicion was that carbon had broken off during the plug and coil service, and blocked/interfered with the throttle body and its control. To solidify his contention that the Jeep was in fact fixed, he drove it nine miles. It is my interpretation that Jason went the extra mile (literally 9 in this case), to get my Cherokee back up and running just as it had been when the day began. He did so at no extra cost to me, a frustrated customer, even though the carbon build up was most likely the culprit. This is the kind of quality service that prompts someone to write a lengthy review. It’s the epitome of what people expect from service oriented businesses, but fear they will never get. This Merchant’s Tire, on this day, came through. To be clear, it was the people with whom I interacted that gave Merchant’s more credibility in this guy’s mind. Thanks men! I appreciate your effort to get my Cherokee back in action.
Very dishonest! I came in for a state inspection and it failed my vehicle due to the front coil springs being broken, which was the only true problem. They dishonestly added on brakes, rotors, and a tag light for a total of $1900. When I declined to do the repairs, they offered $1400 for comparable parts. I still declined and was handed two quotes, one $1600 and another for the $1900. I took my vehicle to another inspection station after replacing the struts for $150 and they were confused as to why we needed to replace the brakes and rotors, they were fine. And that tag light had been disconnected and the mechanic just plugged it back in, works fine. I feel like they tried to take advantage of me being a woman with my young daughter. The mechanic even did a demonstration by flicking off rust to show me how bad it was...all vehicles have rust under them. The mechanics at the second shop laughed when I told them this. I definitely wont be coming back to this shop.
Great Service. Jack Seaward is very knowledgeable, professional and helpful! Highly recommend coming to this NTB and workong with Jack.
I came in for a simple patch for a small hole. The clerk at the counter had me waiting for 40 minutes before coming and telling me that IF they couldnt patch the hole Id have to buy 4 new tires because of the model car I had. They hadnt even touched the car yet.Well, my tires are already new. Just got them. And the lack of self confidence in the ability to patch a hole just solidified why I havent been back to their shop in 3 years. Only reason I even considered them today was because the shop I go to was closed for the day and it was convenient for time. After they said that I would have to buy new tires I reached out to the owner of the other shop with questions, he told me to take my car and go before they could touch it because thats a flat lie. Not to mention they were openly discussing their tire sales versus another location of theirs and how they sold 50 in a day and they were losing to this other Merchants. So obviously they were going to try and con me into buying 4 new tires after seeing how far behind their sales were - thats the perception of the customer, and perception is reality.Get your staff sorted.
This is the second time Ive been to this location and both times Ive had a great experience. Best Merchants Ive been to yet! Straight forward and make sure youre getting the service you need, not what you dont. So far its been shocks, struts, axle, oil change, alignment.
Excellent customer service! Joseph worked with me so that my vehicle would pass inspection and that I could afford! This was on the last day of the month and I had to get new tires to pass. I will definitely become a repeat customer!
Joe and Jack hit a grand slam. Great service and Im thankful that they were able to help with my tire pressure concerns in such a professional and expeditious manner. Great team and please continue doing such amazing work for the community.
Convenient location, but slow slow slow. This place is convenient, no doubt. Right in the center of Central Park, you can (in theory) run over the parking lot to Starbucks or Chick-fil-a and grab something while they do an oil change or rotate your tires. In theory, that is, because they always grossly underestimate how long it will take. I’ve tried every combination of morning/afternoon/appointment/walk-in, and it doesn’t seem to matter.Today, I brought it in for a tire patch. I was told 1.5 - 2 hours, which is on the long side, but I was willing to wait. I ran errands nearby until 3 hours later, I decided to swing back to see if they were near the end, willing to sit in the waiting room if it it were almost done. They had not begun, and had not called.I was informed they recommended new tires instead of the patch. But after three hours, no one called to tell me that. I could have either come back much sooner, or given the go ahead for the work in that time, if they had communicated. I was unwilling to wait another hour (when pressed, the guy indicated that yes, it would actually be more like 1.5 hours), so I took it elsewhere. This is twice now I’ve started here and ended up at Merryman’s. Next time, I’ll just start there. We had been coming there for both cars regularly—oil changes, tires, inspections, minor service work, but the lack of communication was the line for me.
My family and I are in town visiting from Louisiana. I saw smoke coming out of my hood and another local mechanic told me it was brake fluid leaking out of the master cylinder. They drained some fluid and told me I was good to go.Wrong! This morning, Sunday by the way, I saw smoke again. So I decided to go to Merchants based on some positive reviews I read online.GREAT DECISION!!!Mike took care of me and got me in immediately. He was courteous and professional.Based on what I had told them, mike gave me a quote to replace the master cylinder. It was a fair price. My wife and I went to get some coffee next door when I get a call from Mike. The tech Jason said he found a loose hose clamp on my radiator hose and that was what was causing the smoke!THESE GUYS SAVED ME $350!!!Understand, because this is the most important part: I signed off on a $400 repair, an Mike and Jason had the INTEGRITY to only do the work that was needed.IF YOU NEED WORK DONE IN FREDERICKSBURG, GO TO MERCHANTS!
Great service, outstanding quality. Very prompt and had me in and out within an hour during a busy day. Always very accurate and the price is fair.
Ok service for a fair price, but taking 2 hours to install 4 new tires with no one in front of me upon arrival is too long, one guy without help could easily do this job in 40 minutes. Less standing around and more getting the job done! Also, manufacturers call for a specific amount of torque to be applied on lug nuts, but no one got out a torque wrench! Just tightened them as tight as the impact would go. Do not recommend.
I have taken both my Corvettes to this Merchants for tire changes and am extremely happy with the service I have received there. Clean and friendly. I understand that they are under new management effective September 2016. I am sure you will be very pleased with any service you have done here.
Took my car in to get my inspection done and they tried to charge me 400$ to get a rear turn signal light bulb, windshield wipers, and a tie rod replaced. Went to advanced auto parts and paid 60$ for the parts had this done in 20 min took it to get inspected... Thanks buttwipes.
Good for oil changes but for everthing else the prices are way to high.
Always fair pricing, great customer service, and reasonable wait times for walk ins..
I had an early appointment . They took care of me in a timely manner. Great service
Great customer service from Mike. I had picked up a piece of metal in my tire. Mike was able to pull it and test the tread for a leak. Thankfully, I had caught it in time. He marked the sidewall for me for future reference and sent me on my way.
Checked in fast, good price quote for my winter set of wheels to have my tires mounted and tpms serviced
Great service! Very happy! And really good prices
Excellent service, great customer service, and friendly staff! They did an excellent job and I recommend anyone who needs service near Fredericksburg give these great folks a call!Thank you for your hard work and your great service!
Screwed us on a labor charge of $135 for fixing a $6 stud when already getting 4 new tires and alignment. I used to work for a tire place.
The service tech seemed to be so very detail oriented...totally appreciate that...I will be a returning customer!!
Been here twice. Been ripped off twice. Only gave them a second try because of the location. Wont make that mistake again.
My left front turn signal went out recently. I took my car to a car wash, and as I was in line I saw NTB right next door. When my car was being washed I walked over and asked NTB if they could put a new bulb in my turn signal. The desk guy said sure, bring your car over after it is washed. I did this. They changed the bulb while I waited. THEN THEY CHARGED ME $89.71!!!!I have previously purchased tires at NTB, but now I think I will never deal with them again. This charge was an outrageous rip off! Terrible!
I am very upset with the service here. I called prior to driving over a hour to get 4 tires for my 2015 Chevy Malibu. I told the guy the size of my tires over the phone and he advised that my tires would be 465.00 after taxes and installation. Of course I think this is great and decide to get tires from Merchants in Fredericksburg. Once I arrived I advised my tore size again and that I had spoken with a guy named Joe and what he had told me. They then advised me that they didnt even carry the tire I needed but that they could give me another set of tires but couldnt give the mileage in the tires and it would be a extra $100 dollars on the price I thought that I was getting. Didnt apologize for me being given incorrect information at all. Of course I refused because I only drove the distance to get the tires that I had been told I would be getting. Very upset!!!!!
Techs were very informative and willing to explain any charges/services that I had questions about.
The team has always given me top notch attention, and work is completed in a timely manner.
Great service. They actually care about providing great service in a timely manner.
The gentleman that checked me in seemed to be putout that I was there so early to get a State inspection. When I came to picup my truck they did not even have a drawer setup to receive payment. I just put new brakes on my truck 3 weeks ago and was told that my brakes were boarderline.
Honda did not find the problem, Merchants did. They also did the repair to my satisfaction.
My company has a fleet account with these guys and it took them swapping 3 different sensors and parts for the check engine light to go off and it is still not fixed. I don’t think they have too much mechanical experience. They also condemned an engine and gave my company a quote to replace the engine in another one of our trucks, took it to another shop and only thing wrong was the air filter was blocked.
Nice people but be aware of your bill because they just might do work that you didn’t ask them to do. Trust, but verify. Lesson learned.
Been here well over 3 hours. They aren’t even busy. I made an appt. I guess that meant nothing! I don’t think they had the tires in stock like I was told. I think they had to go get them. Won’t be back!! Bad business.
Had a tire going flat bad stem fixed it no charge. Cant complain about that.
Great shop, great people you can trust for all of your vehicles needs!
Absolutely horrible customer service . I’ve been coming here for oil changes for quite a while and lately, it’s been terrible. Smoke filled atmosphere. Asked for free brake check and didn’t receive it. Then the clerk tried to tell me that they told me about the brakes when they DIDNT! Awful
We were on our way from MA to FL when we developed a brake problem. We pulled off I 95 and found them on Google Maps. They had us back on the road in less than 2 hours at a fair price. Thank You.
Deceptive advertising to get you in the door, buy two get two free was more expensive than just buying 4 tires. Then they lied on the quote, then they fabricated a light out on the inspection. I say fabricated because it failed inspection for the tires 1 mile away at the deal, and you know how dealers dont try and Nickel and dime you and just miss whole break lights on inspection. This is the same dealer (Rosner) who effectively told us to go elsewhere for tires because they charged too much for tires (they are honest if expensive). Merchants wound up being exactly the same price as too expensive dealer because they lied about quote.Go anywhere else. Merchants lied from the start and kept lying with every other touch of the process.
Good service, I suggest appointments even if youre going for just an Oil Change and you get there first thing in the morning.
Went in to have tires rotated had appt and it took almost 2 hrs....never again
Quick and excellent service, came for alignment was done in 35 minutes!!!
Fast, quality work at a great price. Always reliable.
Been bringing our cars here for years for all kinds of service. Employees are very helpful and informative.
Very good at what they do
Horrible experience. Was told my flat tire couldnt be repaired and because my vehicle was AWD I needed to replace all four tires and would cost roughly $700. Mind you my car is brand new so my tires only had 3,000 miles on them. Took it to a different place and tire was patchable and only cost $20. Needless to say Im never going back to merchants...
Great service
Great staff
This is the store located at 1640 Carl D Silver Prky I believe (right next door to a carwash?). It started off ok, I’ve been here several times. I have two vehicles and always go to a Merchant tire wherever I have lived (I was in the Navy, so I moved around a lot). Good prices, and I knew what I was getting since it was only two tires, and the other two were the same. Talked with the Manager, goes by Rich I think. Said he was a Navy veteran as well. Anyway he said it would take about an hour and a half. Ok, the stores pretty busy I get it. So I walked around for about an hour and 25 mins or so, came back just in time to see them JUST driving my truck into the garage to get the tires….great, this is going take a lot longer now.So after about another 45 mins to an hour, I see him lower the truck, so I go inside to pay. The ‘Service Manager?’ (not the store manager Rich, someone else) takes me back and shows me my truck and tells me the technician broke the door handle…..now I wasn’t really upset (because I knew obviously it was going to be fixed) until the guy started making it sound like it was my fault somehow….he kept saying “It was going to happen anyway…” and “we was just the unlucky one what pulled on it…”. Ok listen, you don’t know that pal, ok? And to infer that I have somehow caused it, well, at that point I was pretty well P.O’d. So there was a younger guy there too (I think he may have been an asst. manager?), and he said that they were going to fix it, and the manager had already ordered the part….great, this will take at LEAST another hour. I wanted two tires, not to spend my WHOLE Saturday at your store.I leave and after about an hour they call me and say my truck is done. I come back, take a look and lo and behold, it’s the wrong door handle. Different shape, with a matte finish, and it’s textured, not smooth and shiny like the other one. So I go inside and the Manager kind of starts things off hot….starts telling me how he’s done his part and fixed it. I tell him, it’s the wrong one. He says that he gave the Ford Dealer my VIN number and they assured him it’s the one for my vehicle (you can visually see it is very obviously the wrong one). So, at this point I’m like WHATEVER, I just want out of here….to be honest I was kind of expecting some kind of discount for my trouble, but none was forthcoming. He took my credit card and charged the full balance….but, what he DID do was come back a lot less heated, apologized for the situation, and the different door handle, and gave me a 3 pack of coupons for free oil changes…ok, so actually that’s pretty cool. I mean I was still a little P.O.’d about the first guy trying to make out like the broken door handle was my fault, and that the handle was different, but I’m not disillusioned about my truck; I drive a piece of crap (cosmetically) but I have always taken care of the powertrain, brakes, suspension, etc. So the free oil changes were actually the better route to go. The manager DID own up to it (even though he’s got another employee that should learn to keep his trap shut and try not to blame things like this on the customer) and fix it….and that showed character, honesty, and integrity. Three very distinguished personality traits difficult to find one in a person, let alone all three….and then in an industry like automotive repair where liars and cheats are notorious?? The odds must be staggering….so what I’m saying is, Rich was a pretty good guy. He knows a good bit about Customer Service (also a rarity these days), and although Merchants Tire have many, many stores under several company names that I can redeem these 3 free oil changes at (several right in the same town), nah, I think I’ll just take it to Rich and let him take care of me, because if there ever really is something else wrong with my truck, I’d like someone I feel I can trust telling me….thanks Rich.
I live in Hyattsville, MD but have had terrible experiences with the local shops. I had been having problems with my tires and thought I had a big problem based on some loud noises I was hearing. I called a friend of mine that lives in Fredericksburg but someone I trust to know a lot about cars. He told me to talk to Kevin over at Merchants Tire. He explained that he has known Kevin for years and has followed him to a few different shops because he is the best in the business. He told me this Merchants has a rough reputation but that Kevin has taken over and is turning the place around. He said I wouldnt go wrong if Kevin took care of me. Was he ever right because this guy knows cars and he really knows customer service! When I spoke with Kevin, he explained what the problem was and told me they could help. He also explained that they were running a sale on the services I needed between 7-Noon that would save me close to half on the repair. Since there was no way I could make it from Hyattsville to Fredericksburg before Noon, he told me that he could arrange the transaction over the phone so I could get the sale price then they could do the work once I got there. He said he was positive he was right about the nature of the problem but also promised that if he was wrong that the charge would be credited toward the repair if he missed the diagnosis. Sure enough, he was right and I saved a ton! This is the part that made me remember to come on Yelp to review this Merchants Tire. It should only take about an hour to get from Hyattsville to Fredericksburg on a Saturday afternoon. However, I had one traffic night mare after another. Kevin mentioned hed be there until 5:00. However, due to 3 accidents and a construction project on the Wilson Bridge, we were still stuck in traffic at 4:45. I called Kevin to let him know we were on the road but still stuck in traffic. He assured me that there was no problem, told me to drive safe and promised to wait until we got there. We didnt arrive until 20 minutes after the time he was scheduled to leave. Not only did he wait past the end of his shift, he got the car in with a technician immediately, and had us finished and back on the road within an hour. He could have left after the hand off, but he stayed for the entire repair and didnt leave until he was positive that we were satisfied. The car rides like a dream now! I will absolutely go back to this shop. Its not because they sell better tires or do a better alignment but because this guy knows his stuff and really knows what customer service is all about. Its rare to find someone that goes WAY beyond to make sure his customers are happy. Great experience at this Merchants.
Very overpriced. There are much cheaper local alternatives.
They do great work, very honest, good time estimates on how work is completed
Overpriced, but friendly. The staff was coutious and friendly. The price of service and materials was inflated.
Great place the staff is so great
They tried to overcharge for everything. They also told me it would be hard to find a starter for a 3 year old vehicle. Maybe I should have given them directions to the nearest dealership or parts store.
Great customer service.
Worse place to get your car serviced or inspected always looking to rip you off and fix things to just get money out of you... place is a joke! Wont be taking my car back!
Woke up to a flat tire, took my car in later that day and they told me why they didnt replace my tire, even under warranty.
Great service friendly customer service
We visited this location after a blowout on I-95 South...very friendly.
Excellent service 👍
These guys replaced my tires in record time at an hour to closing.
There were four mechanics working the floor, it was 7:30am and I was the only person there. Still took an hour just to get a single tire changed. Ridiculous
Never go there
Great deals
Always outstanding service
Very good service
Very bad service and no trust with them
Amazing
Over priced!!!!!
NTB 373 is the best around! They helped me out with a couple mechanical issues with my Jeep and we’re always fast and courteous. Sebastian was always willing to answer my questions and walked me through the repair as they diagnosed it. Wonderful mechanics down there I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service.
