Deaton Marine does ALL my work, never a problem and very fair pricing. They bend over backwards to give exceptional service, you will not find a better mechanic to do your marine work. They are honest, caring and exceptionally knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed!!

Seemed like decent service... Did a good job and was really fast.So why not 5 stars? They quoted me for a winterization, but then asked me if I wanted an oil change and whatnot. I said of course... But that almost doubled the price. I wont say they did anything wrong technically here, it was my fault for not asking for a second quote on it, because their winterization price was $9 cheaper than the dealer, but the dealer includes an oil change. So when the oil change... Which is normally expected with winterization as added, the final price was almost DOUBLE the cost at the dealer for the service!!! So Ill likely go back to the dealership next time to save hundreds. (It was 66% more expensive than the dealer for an oil change + winterization).On top of the high price, they charge a surcharge for credit cards so I had to use a check. I would respect that if the price was competitive, but if your charging premium prices, the highest Ive seen anywhere, that seems like a petty hassle.Staff was really nice though, so that counts for anything. They are also really close to my house. They seem like they know their stuff if you have a high end complex boat, but if you have a basic sub $50k boat (mines an 18 v6 I/o), stick somewhere cheaper like the dealership.As long as you get a complete price quote in advance, and your OK with the price, Im sure theyll do good work. Maybe the winterization service at the dealer and everywhere else I called is a loss leader and Deaton has fair pricing on everything else... Maybe they dont even want to work on smaller boats so price themselves out of that market. I cant speculate, but I was certainly taken aback a bit.
