If you are planning a visit to Franklin, Tennessee, you really need to visit this adorable shop. The owner is super helpful and hes a hoot! We all need more laughs these days. The selection of super cool vintage items makes this wonderful shop a must see. The owner also mentioned that new items come in often, so its worth a second trip!

I love this place! There is a well-curated blend of antique and new merchandise. We bought a mid century modern dresser (among other things) that was very reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Matthew is lovely to deal with - he held the dresser for a couple of days after we purchased it, and helped us load it into the truck once we were able to pick it up. I plan to stop by monthly to see what new treasures he has to explore!

Love this place! I used to go to the Arrington location more often because I lived closer to that one, and I loved it, too! Cant go wrong with either location! The little treasures I find every time make me look forward to going back. I swear that my home decor consists primarily of what Ive bought from Mercantile 1858. I love the candles, in particular, as well as the garlands, paintings, and kitchen items. The folks here are the best, too!

The staff was kind. The store is really great. It is full of great finds. I enjoyed shopping there and definitely will be back!!

Loved the Mercantile 1858! Found this wonderful store while traveling thru Franklin on my way to Nashville. So glad I went in and checked it out. They have a great selection of unique pieces all displayed so lovely. The owner was so friendly and very helpful with my purchases. Just a great shop All around.

Stopped in today for the first time and fell in love! So many great things. Bought the most amazing smelling candle and a few other cute items. Already planning to return this weekend to grab a couple other larger pieces I saw. Every person I encountered in the store was so sweet and willing to help in any way! Even measured a larger item for me to make sure it would fit where I want it in my home. So happy to have found this place so close to home!

I have been into this store at least 3 times and have always encountered friendly staff members who were willing to help me find whatever I was looking for. I also was able to meet the owner, Matthew, one time and he was so sweet! This store has a cute and unique variety of antiques, home goods, and a great selection for gifts! Its close to downtown but without the downtown prices, and I plan to shop here for many years to come. Currently, I wish I could buy the whole store full of Christmas decor, but so far only bought 2 little chenille trees.

I purchased a make up bag here and within a week or so the zipper broke on it. I went back into the store to see if I could get store credit or exchange for something and they said no since I didn’t have a receipt and since I paid cash they had no record of the transaction. I didn’t think to save the receipt since I didn’t think it would break that easily or that soon. I really think this is a very bad way to do business. I really like to support local businesses, but this makes me not want to go back here since this happened.

I had such a great experience, found so many things that I had to have and Matthew was so gracious! The store was a feast for the eyes and smelled fabulous....I will be back!!
