Twice this year Ive had issues with my 2004 E450 super duty school bus. In May I was worried that it wasnt shifting right. So I took it to a transmission specialist and they said the transmission was fine. I took the bus to Huckstorf for a second opinion because I was on a cross country road trip and needed to be 100% secure and confident about the health of the bus. Huckstorf ran diagnostics and took the bus out for some test drives. The bus was shifting fine and I was just anxious and hyper aware. Instead of trying to upsell me or create work for themselves they told me they couldnt find anything that would stop me from continuing my trip. I ended up getting my transmission temp sensor changed, they called and asked before doing any work, and continued on my way to Colorado. Today on my trip back to Vermont the bus started making funny noises. Luckily we were in Milwaukee again and able to return to Huckstorf. After listening to it and briefly checking it out they told us its the vacuum pump. Their lot was full but they rearranged some things to get us in same day in an effort to help us get on the road and back to Vermont before our daughter starts school. Huckstorf makes the entire experience of working with them extremely pleasant. Theyre communicative, patient, accommodating, etc. I never felt condescension or like I couldnt ask questions. We dont live in Milwaukee anymore but if we did wed only come to Huckstorf for our diesel mechanic needs. We wish there was a Huckstorf in Vermont.

Quoted me 1100 for a injection pump with labor. Called back 2 weeks later and price changed to 1700 for no reason.The communication is lacking and the overall business image is poor in person. I ended up buying a reputable pump for 530$ somewhere else and changed it myself in 30minutes.

Incredible customer service, which coming from a woman in a diesel mechanical shop, is saying a lot. They treated me with decency and respect. Hucksdorf did a wonderful job fixing my 2004 e450 super duty bus. I will absolutely be back. Thank you Hucksdorf!

Took my 2001 24v Cummins in to get worked on. Issue was a bad starter that would only turn over every couple cranks. After talking to a worker at the shop over the phone, he continued to insist that their mechanics would need to “check out the problem” when I had already pin pointed the problem to the starter. After calling me two days later than they said the truck would be done and they found nothing wrong with the starter but they cleaned up a few corroded connections to the battery and assured me that would solve the problem. Later the next day my truck failed to start again and I was having the same problem. Not to mention I also had my gauges installed during this same appointment which I was overcharged for the quantity of 4 gauges when I only had 3 installed, after which I also found my dash cover cracked and broken on the driver side. Overall after talking with Jon I initially was hopeful for the quality and customer service of this shop but after taking my truck here just a few times I have not returned and do not plan on taking my truck here for work in the future.

All of the 2* or lower people here have either communication problems or lack common sense! These guys are top notch and only aim to please. They helped me diagnose my troubles over the phone and took care of me straight away when I came in the following day. They are fairly priced and didn’t try to hook me for a bunch of unnecessary work. I would send any and all of my diesel performance or repair work to these guys! A real pleasure 🤙

Great team... I have had very good service for all my trucks over the years.

We dropped off our diesel Isuzu truck for service, which had a problem with poor idling, as well as the engine shutting off by itself at stop lights. After a few weeks and over $1,500 racked up in diagnostic fees, they still had no idea what was wrong with it. After doing some research on my own, I requested they change out the camshaft sensor, and to just give us our truck back. Replacing the camshaft sensor cost $342.35. After spending a total of $1,853, their answer still came out to “we have no idea what is causing this.” Very disappointed in the incompetence of these technicians, but more than disappointed, I’m just blown away that they were completely oblivious of my concern that we spent over $1,500 on diagnostics that led them nowhere. To them, this just seemed like another day at Hucksdorf Diesel.

Called ahead of time to ask if they could test the injectors I had. I told them the specific make and model engine. I drove 45 min one way just to walk in and them to tell me they cant test them.

Faulty items. Mediocre customer service.

What a great shop. Took my 05 Dodge with the 5.9 in due to the fact I was losing fuel rail pressure. The guys went through its and found the issue. The fuel tubes needed to be replaced. They check all the injectors and even gave me the rest results from them. What a great shop.

In the long run. Huckstorf diesel has proven to be the best for your parts and service needs.

I have a F250 6.0 that wouldnt start. They had it running in 2 days and the cost was fair. I would rather pay a diesel professional than a car dealership for my truck needs.

One of the best experiences with auto repair. Diagnosed our problem more efficiently than GM. Their shop was very busy but they managed to get us our vehicle back in time for an upcoming trip. Saved us a lot of time and money.

I stopped in to have 6 Cat injectors bench tested for pattern and opening pressure.My visit was late in the afternoon but John assured me that they had time to test them.John took the time to test each injector and explain the difference in patterns of the failing ones, this greatly helped us in determining the miss that we had in our engine.I highly recommend stopping in this great local shop for your diesel engine questions and repairs.Keep up the great job.

True story when I was 19 years old I took a job in Union Grove as a mechanic and I had never worked on a diesel engine in my life but when the boss asked me in my interview if Id worked on Diesels I said to him absolutely Ive been working on them for years, within two weeks of working there I had an international that wouldnt start and I had no idea what I was doing or what my first step would be so I called huckstorf diesel and told them the whole situation that I didnt want to lose my job and that I lied to get this job and the gentleman I spoke to came out after his shift to help me diagnose that trucks problem, told me exactly what I needed to do so I did which was take the injection pump off and I brought it to them which they rebuilt now I had to put it back in and had no clue how to set the timing on that international engine and this man came out again after he punched out to help me and a little bit of diesel 101, not only did I continue to work there for many years until they closed but I will never forget what that gentleman and huckstorf Diesel did for me thank you very much you guys you are my number one stop and first call always thank you John thank you Mark!!!!!!! Took 2004 Silverado 2500 Hd truck in for transmission work they did diagnosis said it was one thing replaced part picked up truck still doing same thing call they say it internal take back in said can replace transmission or we could get one and they would put in for $1000. Well we found one had them put in they said took for a ride and doing same thing as before with a different transmission in it mechanic decides to check wires ( which should have been checked first ) finds a burnt wire that was the problem the whole time. Asked if original transmission was still good and they said no but how com the burnt wire didn’t hurt the second transmission. Pick up truck today and get home and range shift inhibitor light came on. This is why it went in to start with. Total cost was over $ 5000. Including the used transmission we had to buy. Don’t know what has happened with Huckstorf but not the same and will not recommend to anyone

Called Huckstorf over the weekend to see if they could assist me with some AMP Research power steps since they are an authorized dealer of the product. The person I spoke to asked me to call back today (Monday) and ask for Dave, the Service Manager. Dave could not have been a nicer guy. Told me to come right in and had my steps repaired in no time. I would highly recommend this local shop. Their customer service and quality was top notch!

I scent to 2 injector pumps to Huckstorf one was 1st. Gen the other after market,. With a peroid time got pump, my pump with new heavier spring. Man my truck will go now BIG time!!! New larger injectors next Thanks a million John and Mark!!!

I had a coolant leak and expected the worse. They pressure tested my truck and found a loose hose clamp. Great communication and great guys. A+.

Took my 1999 F350 to Huckstorf Diesel over a year ago for starting problems. Since then it has never failed to start. This is the only place I will ever take my truck to.

I have been going to Huckstorf for a few years now and have had nothing but the best quality in service. They have done everything as far as routine maintenance as well as performance upgrades for my 97 7.3L. I would recommend them to anyone.

The staff at Huckstorf Diesel did a great job working with me to get an old and very poorly restored VW Rabbit pickup back up and running.They were very accommodating and knowledgeable, helping to diagnose the problems and letting me call the shots on how far to take the repairs. I wouldnt hesitate to take another vehicle to them or send another customer their way.Huckstorf was the only shop in Milwaukee who was willing to take on the challenge of making my truck a reliable starter --and they went through every step of that process in way that was personalized to best help me.

Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!! Have a 1994 6.5 Diesel Suburban with everything rebuilt but still having issue. Huckstorf help me determine the cause and had the parts to fix it. Also helped me with a 2001 Chevy DuraMax transmission problem.These guys rock!

Weve used the Malone tuning services several times for Mercedes Sprinters, and its worked out extremely well. When there have been hiccups, Mark worked closely with Malone and The Diesel Medic to resolve the problems quickly. I have no reservations recommending this service.

Called them to see if they could do fuel injection pump gaskets. The guy on the phone wouldn’t give me a clear answer whether they would or wouldn’t. He was rude & had bad customer service. After finally getting an answer they quoted me way overpriced for a very easy job that should only take 1-2 hours. (I could do it myself in that time) Very glad I’m deciding not to let them do my work because after reading other reviews this shop doesn’t seem to know what they are doing. Now I see why they are called hacksdorf.

They replaced the water pump on my f250 powerstroke. Fair cost. Excellent service. In and out very quickly. I am picky and inspect thoroughly. These guys did it right.

I took my cab over diesel truck to Huckstorf in hopes that they could figure out a problem that I couldnt within a reasonable price. The truck would smoke white and misfire for a couple minutes until warmed up. Prior to me taking it there for service, I took out all 4 injectors and had them rebuilt by Huckstorf. I replaced 2 of the 4 grow plugs that were bad and did a valve adjustment back to factory specs. After I did all of this, it did not fix the problem. So I decided to take it to the experts. $150 for the first hour and $98 after that. After $850 dollars of labor, they found nothing yet. They had tested for power at the glow plugs, cleaned the EGR (which I just had off), and tested for air in the fuel lines. They wanted to keep going and do a compression test. I cut it off there because they wanted 2 more hours to do that (which is really a 30-45 min job since the glow plugs were just out and it is a cab over truck with the engine right there). I got a little upset about the $850 and they did lower it to $550. I have heard good things about this company, but my experience was not good. I dont enjoy spending $500 + dollars to get no answers at all. I do understand that there is labor time in diagnostics, but I thought that the diesel experts could have figured it out within a day of labor time.

Please get a second opinion before you come here I was excited because of the good reviews but after I paid 135 for a 1 hour troubleshooting session they told me I needed new injectors and a cp3 pump well they replaced this stuff and it fixed nothing... money completely wasted over $3000 worth. Later I discovered a pinhole in a fuel line that the valve cover had wore through wrapped with a piece of rubber and a hose clamp and the truck ran like it did before it had any problems... all of there rushing and diagnostic equipment did was cost me a lot of money I didnt have... please go somewhere else any were else unless you are willing to toss your money in the trash...

Went for exhaust manifolds they gave it back to me it had turbo bark. They told me that was normal sound but also my wheel well fell out a few days later not being attached properly. Took it back again they said they fixed the problem but it still was there. Took it back again and they told me my turbo was bad so I bought a new turbo and installed it the noise was still there took it back again and they found a plug they unplugged when they did the manifolds so they sold me a turbo I didnt need. Never going back dont reccomend to anyone unless you like spending money on stuff you dont need.

Spent half the day searching for parts, one call to huckstorf and I had all the parts I needed the same day! Truly a one stop shop for all your diesel needs!

I bought a 93 dodge d350 and I knew the problem was in the injection pump after checking locally and online everywhere I finally decided to go with Huckstorf. Im glad that I did after an hour and a half I had the old one off and the new one on. Cracked the injectors, didnt use the priming lever started turning it over to prime and literally about 5 seconds of starting the truck was trimming to crank. I tightened all the injectors and turned the key and it turned over 1/2 revolution and the thing was sitting there idling. Great pump, great quality.

I had several issues that I took my 2006 F250 to Huckstorf for. My last mechanic was not a diesel guy so there were some things that were not quite right. They quickly diagnosed the issues, priced them, and explained them to me. Once the repairs were complete I picked up the truck. On the way home the check engine light came on (this was related to one of the issues I took it there for). I called Rob right away. They came to my office the next morning and picked up my truck and took it back to the shop so I wouldnt have to make another trip. There was a very unusual problem it turns out that was related to some after market parts on the truck that kept tripping some sensors. Not really related to what they did, a parallel issue. They stuck with it for days reading and researching. Finally figuring out that it was the after market air filter. They put a stock one on at no charge and returned it to my office for me. Vehicle repairs and being with out can be frustrating, but these guys stuck with it, showed great customer service, and got me that clean bill of health I was looking for. I would highly recommend them to anyone

What a joke.Took my 12v cummins here. Told him exactly what i need done. Charged me 150$ more than what he said on the phone.They sold me the adjuster by attitude. Shipped it to my house. About 2 weeks later i took the truck in with the part they sold me! And the dude had no clue what it was!!!So they install it. I pay. After being over charged. Go out. The truck wont even start. The dude installed it and put the dial on upside down. While there in the parking lot the kid from inside come walking out with my wheel key. And goes sorry i hope your not mad i borrowed this. So this mf dug through my truck while it was there and used my belongings.Than after calling back the next morning after they opened the manager d***** me around for 3 days before telling me he was sorry and offerer me an oil change for free.This place is a joke. Never ever again.

I would NEVER recommend anyone who cares about their diesel to come here. We paid over $3,000 for what should have been a fairly simple fix of replacing the IPR valve, but the tech did not decontaminate the oil so we blew through two high pressure oil pumps and IPR valves and had to keep taking our truck back. We even have proof of a claim from the company that would not cover the first pump under warranty due to their own mistake of not cleaning the oil. Their work was always half-assed. They NEVER were the ones to call and talk to us, we always had to call and, Rob (HORRIBLE AND CLUELESS front desk rep), would rush us off phone and never could give us clear answers. They made up other problems and put a couple parts in without our approval and tried to charge us more. They purposely would make our truck last priority each time we’d take it back because it was on their dime and they did not want to admit their mistake and make their mistakes right. I cannot believe any business would ever be so spiteful and rude and UNPROFESSIONAL and UNKNOWLEDGABLE. Do not waste your money or time with this shop. After being stranded 3 times after they did work on the truck, we were beyond fed up and exhausted and we want to make sure no one ever goes through the horrible experiences we had.

I couldt have gotten my business back up and running without the help of Huckstorf. They are one of the few places left that work on pumps for my old truck and they were awesome and very fair about the price.

Huckstorf diesel was recommended to me by a friend for correcting a black smoke issue with my truck. Over the phone and during initial drop off I was all but assured that I had one or more bad fuel injectors, but they would try adjusting timing first for a fair price to see if that would help. It did not. I was again assured Oh yes your injectors are bad its this expensive price to which I reluctantly okd with the thought Well, its a lot of money, but at least after this my truck will run at 100% after this. Ok do it. They pulled the injectors and tested them, and an employee called me later that day and very apologetically said We found nothing wrong with any of your injectors, we dont know what the issue is. The manager should be able to do something for you to reduce the price since its not fixed. I should also add that throughout this entire process I kept receiving time estimates that were off by several hours if not days.The following day I went in and after a long discussion the manager (or owner, not sure which) I was told they were going to do nothing to lower the price and to pay up. I would have even been satisfied with a discount on future services, but that was also refused. He did offer to tear into the truck even further by dismounting the injector pump and bench testing it, but given that I was already out $600 for essentially nothing I wisely chose to pass. I was also told there was no kind of cash discount, but in my upset state I failed to realize I got overcharged $8 on my credit card. Whether thats a charge for using a credit card, or if its a charge because the owner/manager didnt like that I wasnt just shutting up and paying my bill without questioning him I dont know. I do know that its not on the up and ups.Also imagine my immense displeasure when reading other peoples reviews, and finding someone else (Garrett Lutzow, Google review from 2015) with almost the exact same situation as me that received a ~30% discount because Huckstorf was unable to fix their problem, and wanted to press on and test more stuff. Honestly, if they would have done something ANYTHING I would not be on here. I hate online reviews.In summary, if you want to go to a mechanic to pay loads of money to slowly not have your problem fixed, Huckstorf is the place to go.

Did good work 3 years ago but now same parts went out cant afford to fix

They took time to answer question and if one person didnt know the answer, he asked another. They gave me Ballpark pricing so I could make a reasonable decision on how to proceed with my repair.

The incompetence and the way they overcharge then blame me for their screw up is beyond words. Having spent about $17,000 in this shop Mark the owner referred to me as a non paying customer in defense of their hack job.

They corrected the problems I had with my 93 dodge where the last shop totally misdiagnosed the truck runs better than it ever has.

John is always so helpful there he rocks
