I just have to take a moment to say, the Volvo buying experience was the best we have ever had. Jame Munroe is the most knowledgeable and respectful salesperson! He was so patient with us as we considered all our options. He took the time to show us multiple cars, went over all the tech, and was informed on all things Volvo. He even brought the car out to our home so we could look over everything together. In the end, after researching many cars and dealerships, James earned our business because of great service, and of course recommending a great vehicle. We love our S90 and have a good feeling this will be the first of many Volvo’s we own.

Where to begin! Since most places will not work on Volvos, we did not have a choice but to take our car here. From the start to the very end, it was a terrible experience. After a huge miscommunication that resulted in an added expense of a rental car (we were told the car would not be done until Tues or Wednesday, our appointment was Saturday), our car was done a few hours later! As soon as we got in our car, we noticed we had a headlight out! It was working when we dropped it off. No one noticed (theres an indicator on the dash as well as it beeps when you first start the car), no one paid attention, no one told us! I called the services manager numerous times and left messages, but did not receive a call back! Not a huge surprise! Needless to say, no matter how much we loved our Volvo, we decided then to trade it in!11/1/2020Dear sir who just replied to my review,As I stated in my original review, I left NUMEROUS messages for a Josh and a Jimmy after our appointment and did not receive a call back then. Had they wanted to understand my situation and concerns better, they should have returned my call. I will not continue to take more time out of my day to track down a manager regarding our horrible service appointment. Our Volvo was traded in the last week and we are choosing to move forward, not backwards.

Thank you to the guys at the Darrell Waltrip Volvo Service Department for five-star service in regards to my 2010 XC90 that I brought in for same-day servicing. Mr. Mike proved extremely knowledgeable when I spoke with him over the phone and Mr. Bronson took care of me in wire-to-wire fashion, keeping me abreast of the entire process with my SUV, from diagnosis to repair to advisement on future services needed. What was initially thought to be an emergency situation with my SUV turned out to be an easy repair that turned out to cost far less than what I thought I would end up spending. Ill definitely be back for all my future needs.

I am just blown away at the awesome level of customer service I received today! I haven’t even brought my car in yet. I had a really bad experience with Volvo of Nashville today and decided to give Darrel Waltrip Volvo a try. I first spoke with a gentleman name Bronson! I explained that the other Volvo dealer would not be able to provide a loaner car and may have my car longer than a day. I found that to be an issue since I live and work in Murfreesboro and my car would be in Nashville for possibly more than a day. Bronson was so understanding of my situation and said he would do his best to accommodate me and that was enough for me to say YES! So he let me know the wonderful lady would call me to get me scheduled. I then spoke to Sarah and boy was she just awesome. I have a check engine light on and scanned it at my shop was worried about the codes. She assured me I would get a either a Volvo loaner or an enterprise rent a car. At this point I was just thrilled. She let me know if my car starts to have any drivability issues that I also have tow for life from Volvo. I know for a fact now this will be the only place I will bring my Volvo too!! Thanks for the awesome service!

Could not ask for a more pleasant person with which to deal than Ellis Roberts in the Volvo Service Department. He took the time to ask questions and answered mine. He made sure that I was kept up to date on the progress of my required repair and advised me of the cost up front and the consequences parts delays would have on their completion, once that became an issue. The only complaint I have is that the vehicle had to be returned within two minutes of driving it off the lot with the same problem - it happens. Still waiting to hear that it has been fixed properly. Again, on the plus side, though I declined, I was offered a vehicle to drive in the interim.To update. My car was fixed - a simple code clear and a few checkup miles by Mr. Roberts, just to be absolutely sure. He also scheduled and took care of a minor recall issue while they had it. Returned it to me washed and with a full tank of gas. Who could ask for more?

Incredibly disappointing service compared to every other luxury car dealer out there. I love my Volvo, but this dealer nearly ruins it with their unprofessional service. Service desk advisor with cut holes in the front of his mask (if even wearing it at all) and I waited twice as long for a routine service than I was quoted for by phone after it taking 1 hour past my appointment time to even get my car in the service bay. Take your Volvo you paid a pretty penny for elsewhere that doesnt begrudgingly honor the Volvo service warranty.

I was traveling from Eastern North Carolina and had an issue with my 2019 XC90. I was so fortunate to call this Volvo dealership and be helped by Ellis Roberts in the Service Department. He was so accommodating and comforting. I was nervous about the warning lights and the fact that I was turning around in 24 hours and heading back over mountains to the coast. Ellis got my vehicle in the shop and took care of what I needed. He made me feel safe and secure and recall why I have purchased/driven Volvos over the past 30 years. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! UNSAFE CONDITIONS, BATHROOMS WERE WORSE THAN WALMART! Wife & I made the mistake of stopping at DW Volvo the other day to look at the S60 sedan. First, the available customer parking is non-existent in front of the very small and dated showroom which had a total of (2) cars on display. We had to find someone to assist us which was the first clue we should have left. Finally, a salesperson approached us and wanted us to meet a Manager prior to showing a vehicle. We were ready to leave when he decided to get the keys to an S60 after about a 20 minute wait. Then he takes us outside down a dilapidated wooden staircase from the 1970s to the new lot down below the showroom. As we approached the vehicle, he made some statement as to why the car was dirty due to the construction in the area. What - - It was covered in leaves! At this point, we declined the test drive and left while we still had time to go another dealer. This is DEFINITELY not acceptable when considering purchasing a $50k vehicle or any vehicle for that matter. DW Volvo is in no way a luxury dealership and should close its doors. Volvo should be ashamed at this representation of the brand. I can only imagine what the service department experience would be like. Hello Audi!

My experience with the salesman Max was good. However the after purchase service was non-existent. I had a temporary plate that expired and even after they had my new plate in, no one tried to call or contact me. Finally, I had to call them and was told that the plate had been there in there store for 2 weeks. And during these two weeks, no one tried to call or leave a message to let me know the plate was in.I love the car, but the dealership can definitely step it up a couple of notches given they are selling “luxury” vehicles. My experience with the dealership definitely did not make me feel like I was purchasing a luxury vehicle.

From the moment I walked into Darrel Waltrip Volvo - I was greeted by just about everyone in the room. They told me that a salesperson would be with me shortly. I was prepared to wait... To my surprise, I was approached by an Andrew Hardy before I got to sit down. Andrew asked what my needs were, time frames and budget and we proceeded to look at the Volvo XC60. We drove it and he explained all options and pros and cons of each. he explained the process of ordering a car to my specifications and updated me at every step. When the car came in and we picked it up - the process was so seamless. He spent time with me setting up the car and called the next day to follow up. I am new to the Volvo family and I am so happy with my purchase and the service I received!

James knows these Volvos inside & out & can answer any questions you could throw at him. I guess that is why they call him “Mr Volvo“! He lets you take your time looking at the cars & has a great test drive route over secondary roads, country roads, city roads & of course the interstate. He lets the car sell itself during the test drive & that is what sold me on the XC60! James was never “pushy” or “high pressure” & Is just a very nice person all around! After the sale he scheduled 3 different tutorials with me so that I could become familiar with all the upscale electronics & to answer any questions that I had to make sure I felt comfortable driving my car. Brought my car in for service, first time at Darrell Waltrip. I had a coupon for a synthetic oil change. Sure enough, it really was $19.99+tax, for a Volvo that takes 7+ quarts. I cant even buy the oil and filter and change it myself for that! Service writer did a great job and I had my car back within the hour, as promised. They even washed it! In early April, I brought my Volvo to Darrell Waltrip Volvo for some repair work. I worked with Josh Daugherty in the service department, and this was my second time working with him. I’m being honest when I tell you that I have never been helped by a more knowledgeable technician. Josh clearly has a wealth of knowledge about the Volvo brand. He was able to talk to me about my vehicle with complete transparency and certainly had my (and my car’s) best interest in mind. He was an extremely effective communicator and was always polite and professional. I did take note, that the Volvo service department was always immensely busy, yet somehow Josh was always able to be prompt with his updates regarding my vehicle. I’ve taken vehicles to a number of repair shops in the past with varying experiences, but working with Josh was like a breath of fresh air.I also want to point out that while I didn’t work directly with the other service technician, Lane, he was very personable and engaging. The two of them are really doing big things in the Volvo department, and I genuinely enjoyed working with them!

Had an appointment for an oil change at 9 am on a Saturday. By 11, I was starting to wonder why it wasnt done yet. Turns out there was a problem with the drain plug crush washer. They spotted it and wouldnt let the car leave without fixing the issue. They did not charge me for the service because of the error. In my mind, this was excellent service, and I will be returning for future service on my 2016 S60. Thank you, Darrell Waltrip Volvo!

I purchased a Certified Pre-owned S80 Volvo from Darrell Waltrip Volvo. I have been trying for weeks to get some warranty work completed at Darrell Waltrip Volvo. I could not get anyone from service to reply to my numerous calls. I contacted Volvo USA for their help and they contacted the dealership. Then I got a message from Jeff in service telling me that Josh the service manager told him to call me. That was over two weeks ago. I have returned his call no less than 4 times. Each time being told that he will call me back. I’m still waiting. I am going to social media to try to get my mirror fixed that is still under warranty.

Avoid at all costs. Go to Volvo of Nashville, instead.I own a certified pre owned S60 under warranty and made an appointment to diagnose and repair a known excessive oil consumption issue caused by failing piston rings. My vehicle burned 4 quarts of oil in between oil changes. This issue was documented in a volvo technical service bulletin and across the web. Ellis at Darrell Waltrip tried to convince me that this quantity of burn was normal and that the only diagnosis was to monitor oil consumption over time, well beyond my warranty period (leaving me liable). He was unwilling to honor my existing warranty, rely on my maintenance records, or even consider the technical service bulletin specific to my engine (engine 62).My experience at Volvo of Nashville was 180 degrees different. The technician was respectful, reviewed my records, and immediately offered to repair the piston rings to correct the root problem. He even made sure to complete it within my soon- to be -expiring warranty period.Bottom line: Avoid Darrell Waltrip Volvo. They have no concept of customer service, even with proper paperwork and records.

Made an appointment to meet a sales person about a particular car on their website. When we got there at the agreed upon time, they appeared surprised we were there. Neither the sales person or the particular car we came to see were available. They had us drive a similar car (more highly optioned) which defeated the purpose because we wanted to see a specific configuration. Needless to say we left and went to our next appointment in which the car was waiting for us outside the showroom. We left that dealer with a car (not a Volvo!)

Ive been coming here for four years now and they have been good to me. They are professional and courteous. They let me know how much the damage is going to be and let me discard non essential things from the service to suit my budget. I came in with a pair of rainx wipers and the guy told me to return them as it was only 10$ for original Honda wipers and it wasnt worth it. They are slightly pricey but that is the cost of good quality and service.

After my beautiful Volvo was involved in an accident a couple of years ago, I wasnt able to get a new one. Though Im very lucky and grateful to be in a different car, I miss the thoroughly amazing service provided by this dealerships service department.They always checked my car to make sure they kept up with what was needed and to what degree of wear and tear a part had taken. Best of all they never failed to keep me aware of it too. They seemed to care about the car; and sitting down and talking to me about what they found always made me feel confident my car was safe. I lived here in Nov 2010 to Nov 2012 and had my Volvo serviced for that 2 year period at this dealership. I am retired US ARMY, I never had any issues from the service department nor the parts department. I wouldnt take my Volvo anywhere but to this dealership. I recently relocated back to (WestHaven) Franklin on Mar 2016. I still receive the great service and guidance that I feel confident in with their decision process of technical support. They have actually helped me to call for extended coverage to minimize my costs. This is the dealership to feel safe with their recommendations for service. Bottom Line: They will not take advantage of a customer like some dealerships or repair shops do.

I took in my vehicle for a diagnostic test for a check engine light. Vehicle returned $800. A few days later car starts making high pitch noise(not from original visit). Update to the update. Whatever you do, dont buy a Volvo! A year after the engine was replaced in ludington all of the belts, a belt disintegrates and knocks the timing off. The engine is destroyed a second time. DW Volvo may be as good as they come but go on down to Subaru or Honda. Volvo is a nightmare!!!!I had to update my previous review. Walked in to ask about a car they could not find dealer ask me to come with him to see if we cpuld find it at that point I guess we were in the recprds room a female working rudely requested this is a secure area you need to leve rather smartly so my wife and I walked out the dealer we were working with was very polite but the woman not so much

Made an appointment for an oil change. I was told it would take an hour. Got to Volvo service (which had changed locations and no one had said anything to me when the appointment was made) and was told there was no way that my car (oil change only) would be done in an hour. Communication could be much better. Very disappointed.

All of the people in the show room and at the service desk showed great kindness and respect to me even though I have an old car that I got before I moved to the area. The repairs my car needed were numerous and they helped me prioritize the work so that I could stay in my budget and still keep my car running. I would not take my car to any one else.

Refused to honor Volvo Extended Warranty #205. This warranty covers the PCV box that Volvo has admitted is defective. Service manager and GM wanted to charge me $750 to complete a repair fully covered by this warranty that is supposed to cover the part for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Will NEVER purchase another car from these people again. GM hung up on me. May have to pursue legally.

I no longer live in the Nashville area, but when I was visiting for the weekend and had a major problem arise with my car, the folks at Darrell Waltrip Volvo took excellent care of me and my car. They were able to schedule me to come in the same day, arranged a rental car for me, and treated me with top notch customer service throughout the entire process. Lane was able to diagnose one of the problems immediately, and the tech team was able to diagnose and fix the other problem in record time. Lane and Josh both explained what was done clearly and thoroughly without being condescending, and were honest about what was urgent vs. what I could watch and wait. Jennie provided great customer service and follow-up. While clearly, I dont hope to have another car problem that requires immediate attention while Im visiting Nashville again, if that does happen, I will feel confident going to the folks at Darrell Waltrip Volvo for help. I was very pleased to know that my car is still under warranty and my 30,000 mileage maintenance was free. I will continue to bring my car to Darrell Waltrip after the warranty has expired. Purchased a 2018 S90 with less than 5000 miles had two things fixed which have snowballed into multiple other issues. With being tired of driving 200 miles to get repaired what they broke while repairing the initial issue we decided to trade into something different, thinking maybe this car is a curse only to discover that in three months our car to them has depreciated 15,000 dollars. Also technicians left black greasy hand prints all over an off white leather interior and scratched the window tint in both back windows. The only reason they get one star is 0 is not an option.

From start to finish this was a negative experience with this dealership. I contacted this dealership via internet and could not get any prices or anyone to get back with me. I decided to give them a second change and go in person to inquire about vehicles. When I explained my disappointment to try and reach a salesman, no one apologized. As soon as I walked into the door, a salesman hit on me which is completely inappropriate. While I was there, no one offered to show me vehicles or test drive any vehicles. Their salesman stated we price aggressively with our competitors yet they couldnt even come close to numbers of other dealerships in the area. This dealership is the definition of why customers dread car shopping and hate the entire process. I hope your customer services improves because you will most definitely not be getting my money or a recommendation for a Volvo or any vehicle in Nashville.

I was able to work out an unbelievable deal via internet pricing. I live in Memphis, Tn., and all negotiations were done by phone and email. The sales manager (Jason McCoy) and salesman (Andrew Hardy) were very friendly and professional and made the 3 hour trip to purchase the car (2017 Volvo XC90 T6 R-Design) very worth my while.

Worst customer service I have ever had! They tried to overcharge me for parts and services that I did not need. You cant believe a word they say! It took them 3 days to tell me that I needed a new battery. My battery was under warranty. When I took it back to AutoZone the battery was just fine! They just wanted to get the $375 for a new battery...a battery that I didnt even need! What a rip off! I ended up towing my vehicle to Volvo Nashville where I received tremendous customer service. They had my vehicle ready the same day!

Everyone at Darrell Waltrip Volvo was very genuine and did everything they could to make my purchase experience an awesome experience. I was trading in my XC60 in order to buy an XC90. Ill probably buy my daughters first car from the same dealership.
