These days, most furniture offerings seem underwhelming, overpriced and of questionable quality. I wanted a desk, daybed and bed frames, crafted with real wood and thoughtful design. In time and after googling more extensively, I found Amish Excellence.My first visit was an epiphanic moment for me. Amish Excellence is small, yet filled with wonders and numerous options. The father/son owners were present and welcoming. It was such a relief to see warmer, more natural stains than the onslaught of trendy whites and grays. I knew I’d make my purchases there and began to dream out loud. Guy (father) and Dave (son), immediately listened and offered suggestions. Everything I wanted was possible. If a design wasn’t on the sales floor, or in their catalogues it could be created (within reason).I ordered a daybed, home office desk, leather swivel chair and two queen bed frames. They helped me design exactly what I wanted and if there were questions they contacted their Amish craftsman partners in Ohio. Everything is built on relationships there, which is why small businesses are precious.When the daybed arrived it was beyond my expectations. It’s the first thing you see when entering my home and it’s beautiful. The stain and quality of the wood is impressive. One thing I didn’t consider was how tight the mattress would be in this design, so I communicated with Dave and an insert was created. It’s perfect and I appreciate this may not have happened elsewhere. From the beginning of this relationship, they have found away to make things work because they really care.I’m truly astonished at an angry one-starred review, which still pops up even though I’ve changed my filter options. Know this... some people are impossible to satisfy. I was told from the beginning the wood may have imperfections. My pieces are stunningly natural and the stains are rich and true to the floor models.I’ve attached photos of each piece, so you can see for yourself. Check out the master bed frame, where they created a linen drawer underneath. Dream big and trust you are in good hands here. Not Excellence. We worked with Guy to design a dining room sideboard and table. Delivery took more than 3 months. Together, they cost over $7,400 and to be sure, we were disappointed in the overall quality. The two pieces didnt match in terms of stain (see photos). The fit and craftsmanship of the carpentry is average at best (see photos). When we were sold, Guy told us that what sets Amish Excellence apart, is the desire to take care of their customers, unlike a big vendor. Unfortunately, when we asked Guy to see what could be done about the very poor stain and wood match, he became flustered and said there really was nothing he could do and that was to be expected...I cant give you your money back. He offered to redo the sideboard, but not the table, and said there was no guarantee that the rework would be any better. Not exactly confidence building to us. We were not interested in our money back, and not wanting to wait another 3+ months. We are very disappointed in very expensive, average quality furniture, with little to no customer service. Unfortunately, this is why you want to go to a reputable furniture store that will confidently stand behind what they sell you.

I stumbled upon this company while shopping out in Franklin. The employees are knowledgeable, professional and the products are outstanding quality! Everything is completely customizable to the customers choice. If you’re looking for long standing quality furniture Amish Excellence is the place. It truly is excellent!

The furniture at this store is of the highest quality. We purchased our dining room table, benches and chairs. One of the table Leafs was not finished properly. Without question or hesitation they took the piece back and had it finished properly. It now matches the rest of the table beautifully. the customer service given by the staff was outstanding. Theyre very knowledgeable and helpful in any way possible. We will definitely be buying more pieces from this great company.

As soon as we walked in the store I felt like I was at home. The furniture is of fantastic quality and in a style that I really enjoy. I had a good idea of what I was looking for when I went in and showed them a picture on my phone, they said we can build that and were able to give me a price in just a few minutes. The service is outstanding something you wont find at other furniture stores, Guy and Dave make you feel like part of the family. If you like solid wood well crafted furniture at reasonable prices you owe it to yourself to stop in and look around. Its time well spent even if you dont buy anything.

I could not be more satisfied with the quality of the furniture and the helpfulness of the staff at Amish Excellence. I purchased a custom table and a set of chairs for my mom for Christmas, and it is by far the best gift Ive given. The table and chairs turned out better than I could have imagined, and are now the talking point of the entire house whenever we have guests. I could not have gotten such a quality product without the help of the capable staff at Amish Excellence, who helped me get the exact specifications that I wanted for my customized table. I love this furniture and hope to get some more soon!

We’ve had several great interactions with the folks here and purchased some heirloom pieces for our home. Best investment we could make in furniture. Don’t waste money on cheap junk that won’t last. Latest item is a custom built desk that one of my grandsons will be able to use. Thanks.

Absolutely the highest quality furniture we have ever owned, by a long way. Both the wood and the finish are incredibly hard -- not even a minor scratch after years of daily use by our four kids. Ive never seen wood of this quality anywhere else, and since the pieces are bench-made instead of factory made (not all Amish furniture is!) our grandchildren will someday argue over who inherits it.Oh, and they have the best customer service imaginable! If you can conceive of it, they can make it to your exact specs. Highly recommended!

We own both a custom dining table with matching chair and a beautiful writing desk from Amish Excellence. From start to finish, designing, finishing, and taking delivery of our furniture was a delightful experience. Great family business with very fair prices for these heirloom pieces that will be a part of our family for generations.

My wife and I bought a bedroom set about seven years ago. Seven years later and it STILL looks brand new. You cant beat the quality of Amish furniture. The gentleman who owns the store was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and was very accommodating to my specs regarding resizing a few pieces. Because of this, we ended up buying a dinette set a few years later. You cant go wrong with Amish Excellence. Excellent quality plus sensible pricing. We wish we had discovered them a long time ago.

I might be the first person who has ever requested someone to build a custom secretary desk with hidden files, smoked glass and a hutch for display. It was a strange thing to ask for but you know what? They were able to make it for me! The younger of the two owners had planted an idea in my head upon my first visit when he said if you can imagine it, we can build it. Boy howdy! I explained my ideas in a stream of consciousness while he took very detailed notes and later presented me with a schematic on graph paper that was precisely what I had envisioned in my head. Three months later, it was a tangible thing of beauty sitting pretty in my home. I will most assuredly be returning to Amish Excellence. They are the real deal!

I visited this afternoon with my soon-to-be significant other. When we exited, we both agreed it was going to be our new playground as we build our new home. If we had a disposable income, we would have ordered everything then and there. It was like the Emerald City of custom furniture. Like the floodgates opened. Ahhhhhhh! Hehehe. The young man we spoke to was very knowledgeable about the Amish process in furniture building. He even showed us some custom designs he was working on. Like, they can create anything. We were totally blown away. Of all the furniture stores we visited today, this was the only one that gave us their undivided attention, was friendly and didnt act like they were bothered. Bassett Furniture virtually ignored us and Two Danes didnt acknowledge us at all. Going into Amish Excellence was a totally different experience. We cant wait to start working with them. A+++

This review is one part an actual and fair review of Amish Excellence and another part response to Mr. Lachivers review posted below. As luck would have it, I was actually in the store readying my fifth purchase from this wonderful company when these people were also placing their order. Guy and his team told these people that everything they sell takes 90 days (three months) and anything customized would take a little longer, so its not like these people werent given that information. They also told them that each plank of REAL WOOD is unique and shows stain deviation and contrast differently with every individual piece. So of course one piece is going to look different from another. So, again, its not like they werent given that information either, because they were. Also, if Im not mistaken, just about everything they ordered was something custom, something they outlined themselves and different from typical Amish styles and motifs. I look at Mr. Lachivers pictures posted here and am flabbergasted by 1) how beautiful everything turned out and 2) how someone can be so inept as to the production and outcome of authentic hard wood furniture. And then to have the impertinence to refuse Guys offer to re-do the sideboard (which is a proposal he really didnt have to extend) which would have been the most costly out of the two different pieces. Its priceless that they screwed themselves out of his overly generous offer just by being so entitled and impatient - and afterwards, to give this company a one-star review while such beautiful furniture remains displayed in their home. People never cease to amaze me.Now on to my own personal review. Like I mentioned earlier, I ordered my fifth piece from Amish Excellence, a Mule Chest Dresser, and couldnt be more happy with the way it turned out. Its exquisite. My wife and I had, through the last few years, also purchased a King Bed, night tables, Glider rockers, and an Entertainment unit. As of this writing, they still look brand new. Guy, his son and the lovely lady who works with them are attentive, HONEST, and most definitely stand behind their product and warranty. As an example - one of the glider rockers that arrived a few years back had severe shipping damage. Not their fault, but the trucking companys fault. Guy and his team took care of it right away and soon after it was perfect. Five purchases with these people and most likely many more in the future. I had originally intended to just leave my own review of the company but after reading that customers dishonest and disrespectful (albeit hilarious) one-star review, I had to say something. If youre a potential customer on the fence about ordering solid hard wood furniture, you only need to read all the five star reviews on here - which make up 99% - to know that these people deliver the quality AND the customer service. Pay no attention to the 1%. They have no idea what theyre talking about.

I have never bought anything there and I never will. I was extremely offended when I walked in there today. I saw Amish furniture and I wondered if they knew anyone that also built Amish houses. They dont. The man in the store informed me that their furniture comes from Amish people in Ohio who produce better quality products than any local Amish people in Tennessee. It was offending to me to hear him talk so poorly about the local Amish population. I have friends in Tennessee who have a home who was built by Tennessee Amish people that is of amazing quality. The furniture in the shop was beautiful but I did not appreciate the offending tone of the man in the store and I will never be back.

They made a cabinet for me based off one of my ideas. They can do anything! Kudos Amish Excellence. Will be back!

I shopped the entire Middle Tennessee area last year for a furniture store that could accommodate me in the way that I needed for a Buffet and glass door hutch for my tiny kitchen. Havertys and Nadeau said that they could do a little bit of what I needed but not everything, and that it would be a five month turnover time, then both gave me a price that was highway robbery and for something that wasnt even real wood. I almost went with Havertys but instead decided to go with my gut and shop around a bit more. Thank God I found Amish Excellence. There are two owners and the younger of the two can draw anything you want and have it build exactly how you want it. So there you have it. Not only did I get my hutch made precisely how I needed it to be, but the price was reasonable and it only took a little over two months after i ordered it to be delivered to my home. And thats another perk because I didnt have to lift a finger. It was delivered and set up in my kitchen by two very polite and handy young gentlemen. I cant speak highly enough of this company. Customer service is an A+ and the quality of the wood is even better!
