Bought (2) pallets of Palisade Zoysia (first 4 pictures) and this is what the bottom 2/3 of the grass looked like, while the first 1/3 looked halfway decent. When asked to replace, basically was told, in delicate words, to F Off! Saw some postings from another landscaper and asked what type of grass and where they bought it. It was at another competitors located in HEB (bright green beautiful grass, NOT from FW Grass & Stone). I am going to use the neighborhood pages LIKE CRAZY to promote the other supplier... all you had to do was have a little customer service and do what was right. Your grass is garbage!

I quite enjoyed purchasing grass here over the past 2-3 seasons. I’d drive out of my way to buy here. The guys that work the lot are always nice and very helpful.On the other hand, the guy in the front office lacks basic customer service skills. I purchased 225 sq feet of St Augustine, and during installation the last 40 sq feet of grass was questionable at best. The soil on those pieces was dry and they would fall apart very easily. The homeowner was not happy with the pieces either.I called to see if Fort Worth Grass and Stone could help me out. Maybe give me a discount at the very least, as I will have to come out of pocket to replace the bad grass I was sold.I informed the guy that my client was not happy with those particular pieces. The guy on the phone IMMEDIATELY starts placing the blame on my client. It must have been something my client did wrong, he says. Why are the other 185 sq feet doing fine? Why is just that one section where the questionable grass was put down?I WOULD ADVISE STEERING CLEAR OF THIS PLACE, but if you go make sure you photograph everything you purchase. Even then, good luck.

I ordered about a pallet and a half of St. Augustine (Raleigh variety) sod delivered for Saturday morning delivery. It arrived promptly and was delivered in my alley by my back yard gate as requested. The quality of the sod was great, and after I planted it, I called the manager for questions regarding watering (my first time planting sod). He gave very detailed instructions, and I appreciated the time he took to explain everything to me. I will definitely be using Fort Worth Grass & Stone for future lawn projects!!

We have uses this place for many yard projects. You get in and out quickly. Never had a problem with customer service or product. When we wanted something they didnt carry (lava rock) they gave us a place to go to that would be cheaper and the same quality as a hardware store like Home Depot or Lowes.

Couldnt find bermuda sod anywhere..except here. In 10 minutes they had 2 pallets down to 1. Didnt want a whole pallet, but that was minimum. Glad I did. We used all of it! It was in rolls too. That was easier. I reserved last pallet with cc & ran to pick up. Friendly, knowledgeable people! Thanks!

I was in search for Bermuda sod and this was by far the most reasonable place around !! To top it, they were extra kind when I realized I goofed on the amount needed! I will DEFINITELY be back for landscaping materials. I highly recommend this business!!!

I have bought rolls of sod here a few times and they have always been friendly and also helped me load them in my vehicle.Called today to see if they had any Bermuda sod in stock and they were very helpful and told me the size of the rolls and the cost. Would recommend.

You ask for a pallet of sod. You tell them your on your way to pick up a pallet. Get there 45 mins later and its sold to someone else.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE!I ordered 5 pallets of bermuda, came when promised. Driver drove off of Rock driveway (I showed him where to drive) and dug hugh rut in old grass (day after heavy rain). He set pallets where I directed. After he left, one of the pallets had a top corner collapse and fall to the ground. This pallet of grass was not of good rolled grass. It turned out to be a bunch of scraps thrown together, it was sitting at the yard in the downpour and it had started rooting together. The other 4 were fine.So the reason for the 1 star you ask? I saved that pallet for last as it appeared to be bad, and after removing some of the top and realizing how crappy this pallet of grass was, I called Fort Worth Grass and Stone to complain about the quality of this pallet, I was requesting a discount on this pallet only do to the condition. Then for the next 5 minutes I was yelled at over the phone about how this was an ag product and there is no quality of standard and that is the way it! It was my problem!So being a retired Fireman, I have never treated the public in this manner, nor should he treat a customer this way. So save yourself and get your SOD somewhere else!This is from another review of a Past Employee, this explains alot!...The reasoning behind my 1 star review is because of the owner. The list of reasons could go on and on about the owner Jeff but Ill just list a few.The owner is aggressive towards customers and employees. He has no sense of self respect towards himself therefore he abuses his power.Drinking in afternoons.cussing and swearing from open to close.When it comes to his grass. Ill rate grass quality. 5-10 depending on the owners mood will determine if he gives you the crappiest grass he has. Which is very often since its a perishable item.His stone is all fossil, rainbow creek. No special rock its all original looking.Just remember if you come here that you cant have any tone, rush, or urgency, because he will stall just to piss you off. Or just kick you out no refunds

Went here to pick up a couple of truck loads of dirt for a new garden I was building. The staff was friendly and they did an excellent job loading it up in my truck, I was in and out in a jiffy. I would recommend them if all you need is some dirt. Do note if you pay in cash you can avoid a 3% fee for paying with card.

Called on Thursday and they were able to delivery sod the next day. They did a great job placing the pallets in the backyard. They also went the extra mile and got a big rock out that I needed help with.The sod was nice and thick. It helped us finish the back half of our yard.

We bought 3 pallets of St Augustine and a super sack of dirt about two months ago. We spoke to Timothy about what we wanted to do and he gave us some excellent advise. There delivery arrived when it was supposed to and the driver unloaded everything just where we wanted it. We put the grass down following the instructions that were provided and have been impressed with the results. Well definitely go back.

The Owner, Glen, is so helpful. I know little about my yard and Glen stepped up and answered all of my questions and also gave me suggestions. He was a delight to talk with - great personality. Also, Jeff Holifield, who works in the office, was most helpful with other questions concerning my yard. In comparison their prices are a lower. I HIGHLY recommend doing business with Fort Worth Grass & Stone.

We purchased a pallet of grass and soil, it was delivered really early Saturday, they put the pallets on top of our grass without calling and asking us where to place it, my husband called and an employee named Jeff answer with a terrible attitude, my husband was asking if they could come and move the pallets since we pay $55.00 for deliver and we are less than a mile from their location.Jeff was very unprofessional and told my husband that the customer is not always right and was arguing with him the entire time, my husband was nice at first but the way Jeff handle the situation was completely uncalled and my husband got really mad at him for his horrible attitude and unprofessional customer service skills.Unfortunately this place has no customer service ethics.

I have bought quite a few items in the past 30 days. 4 pallets of grass, 2 yard of soil, and about 600 lbs of rock. I have read all the reviews. So I will clarify, the guys that do the loading and work the lot are really nice and do a good job. Tim is a nice guy once you have been there a few times, but he is very dry and to the point. You better know what you want and he really doesnt like more than 1 question. The owner who I met on my last trip, well lets just say it might be my last trip. I simply stated something that happened on my first trip and he pretty much jumped down my throat about rules are rules. I have to have rules. Yes you do for your employees, not your customers. Just make sure you know what you want and pick it yourself. Make sure you buy the whole pallette too because they will not help you on price even if you do it same day. Lesson learned, but still no excuse for being an a hole to people.

Had a great experience! Worked with Tim who was very quick to provide a quote and get next day delivery set up. He followed up with a phone call prior to delivery to ensure I had everything I needed and gave us an ETA.

Called ahead to ask whether they sold boulders to the general public. Stopped in the office when I arrived and explained I needed a couple of ~2x3ish boulders and asked if they delivered since that size would break my suv. They confirmed the cost to deliver and pointed out the selection. 45 minutes later after choosing rocks from an open, half empty pallet with a very helpful employee and getting the pallet over to the scale, my helper tells me he’s been told they aren’t going to be able to make this work for me and I need to go talk to the manager. Manager flat out says he isn’t going to deliver a couple of “little” rocks, they’ll only do a pallet (even though they had directed me to the open half pallets). He stared at me making it clear he was done with me and I’d wasted his time. No apology- nothing. I felt I was very clear upfront about what I needed and would have left without issue first thing if they had said this when I arrived. Instead I said “okay” as politely as possible, then left and now I am writing this. I hate giving bad reviews but if it saves someone else the trouble, I hope it’s worth it. Maybe they could post a minimum for delivery? I know what I was lining up would have been around $400 plus delivery but maybe that wasn’t enough or maybe I was overestimating what it would cost. Who knows, but it isn’t really an excuse for how I was treated.

Horrible customer service! Had a pallet of sod and a pallet of top soil delivered. While sleeping the driver deliveres both pallets without asking me where to place them.(deliver fee $55.00, LESS THAN A MILE AWAY )No big deal. Called the store to ask if it was possible to have a driver come by at their convenience and move one of the pallets that was placed right on my existing grass. Jeff answered the phone and stated, That is something they dont do. I in turn asked do you not communicate with your customer before placing the pallets. He took offense to that with a nasty attitude and stated, The customer is not always right. Not a good place to do business. They do not believe in customer service in any way shape or form. Will never do business with them again.

The people that run this place have no customer service in my book of customer service. And since customer service is key that is always where i start when doing business with anyone. I am a small business owner who has bought stone here buts intends to not buy grass due to their ratings. And since their customer service has a zero(F) grade that is widely tooken into consideration.

I would give this site a zero star if I could. Buyer be ware. I echo all of the other comments. Owner is very rude and does not listen to reason. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. You will be very disappointed. Zero stars is not an option? My husband called and spoke to Rico Saturday. He asked for a pallet of Bermuda. Rico said he would have some Wednesday call or come get it then. My husband takes Wednesday off, calls Rico and guess what? No sod. Rico was rude with no apology. All he could say is why didn’t You pay for it Saturday. He didn’t ask us to pay for it then. He just said call or come get it. When my husband told him he wasn’t happy and wouldn’t do any future business Rico’s answer was “cool” and he hung up.

I have no idea what the other reviews are talking about saying the owner is rude. He is nice every time I come in. He is a normal, straight forward guy. This place has the best prices in town. Ive been happy with all the grass I got here. Staff is great too. They do all the loading and unloading. What more could you ask for?

The most unreliable grass company I’ve ever had to deal with. They can’t even give you a time frame of when the grass will be delivered. There is no point calling to ask either because you will be met with disrespect and no answers. The grass is usually bone dry and yellow.The only good thing I have to say about this company is the delivery driver is nice. Other than that, take your business somewhere else.

Awesome service. Chris helped us through the whole process of picking out stone with absolutely no pressure. Delivery went without issue, the driver delivered 5 pallets across our two acres to the back of the property using a forklift one pallet at a time, and wouldnt even accept a tip for the extra effort. These guys are great, and I would definitely recommend without hesitation.

I would walk to Amarillo to buy grass before spending a cent at this place. The employee I dealt with is a miserable & condescending (insert yourself favorite adjective here). Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time.

A really good place to do business with as well as great customer service from Jeff even when taking the time to tell me the truth and not over Exaggerating just to try and sell me something like most sells man do. I could see why Fort Worth grass and stone has been in business for more then 20yrs. For all the negative reviews you should try to go back but be more understanding that they deal with a lot of customers on a daily day and other people that complain as well.

Dont know about the previous reviews, but Greg & Glen couldnt have been more courteous & helpful. I will definitely return for more grass & stone and I would highly recommend this company to anyone! And besides, the grass wasnt dried out like other places.

First of all, let me say that I rarely if ever write a review about a business. About a week ago I called and ordered four and a half pallets of grass and set it up for delivery Monday May 4th. I had requested a morning delivery and they told me they would try to accommodate me. The grass was delivered around 7 p.m. that day. I had called several times to inquire about the delivery and was told that they were short handed that day. When the grass was delivered the owner of the company was actually one of the people who was on the delivery truck. I explained to him that I had taken off the entire day from work so that I would be able to lay the sod that day. I was only going to have a couple of hours of light left by the time I was able to start. I explained that I was going to have to take off the following day because the delivery was so late. I asked if he could waive the delivery charge. at this point he became irate and belligerent. He showed an absolute lack of professionalism, especially for someone who owns a business. He did agree( while yelling at me) to waive the delivery charge, but he wasnt finished acting like a child. He had several comments for me including, I hope you feel all warm and fuzzy now ( because I wasnt going to pay a delivery charge)I have ordered from this place several times in the past two years. There grass is good,I have no complaints, but the customer service lacks

I walked into 5 different stone distributors and this was the ONLY one who took the time to answer all my questions. Glen treated me like a valued customer and didnt scoff at my naivety in the amount of rock to order. He took the time to help me with oddball calculations. Ive already had 33 tons of rock delivered, with more front yard projects in the future. Tim made me a very happy customer when I made a wrong order placement and fixed my mistake. And delivery man Dewayne went absolutely above and beyond, placing the rock along my treeline, so I wouldnt have to wheelbarrow 17 tons of rock or spend $800 to rent a bobcat! Im not sure if its new management or staff, but the low star reviews are mind boggling to me. My friend recommended this place to me and Ill absolutely recommend it to everyone!

Yes he is a little crotchety but he does what he says and delivers an excellent product priced really well. Honest business! I had a 99% take rate on 24 pallets of bermuda SOD. It would have been 100% if my irrigation covered properly. The SOD in the back was put n a week after the rest of the yard because I didnt order enough.

Called and ordered 20 pallets of grass last Monday. The order was delivered on Friday and the driver even laid out the pallets exactly where we wanted them. Besides a few ants found on some of the pallets we are pleased with our purchase thus far. No bad experience with the customer service on our end.

I would give it less than 1 start. Same as pretty much every review in here, rude and non-existent customer service. How they stay in business beats me. They act as if since you are going to buy sod there, you must be an expert, they dont like you asking questions.

Ive bought here multiple times. I always had it delivered. Today I picked up the load. I prepaid for grass so it would be ready when I arrived. When I got there the loader said to go in the office and pay more because it was on a pallet. Really? He also said the pallet that was mine was given away and this pallet had 20 more pcs and I had to pay the difference. I stayed in my truck and called the office. Jeff the owner came out because there was an issue. He immediately started screaming and flapping his arms around. He said he was going to fire the sweet girl for telling me it would be ready. I asked him to listen and he went off Dont you tell me to listen! The grass isnt cheaper or better quality here so theyve lost me forever.

I shouldve read other reviews before doing business here. I reached out to Fort Worth Grass & Stone to see if I needed to pre-pay for a large order of sod to ensure availability on the day of the pick up. Jeff, who is the owner, was taking my call. As I was trying to explain the reason for my call, without any reason Jeff became irritated and started to raise his voice at me and saying things like What do you want me to do? Give you my first born? I asked Jeff if everything was ok, and that I was puzzled by his response because I was not asking him to do anything, other than calling to see what I needed to do to make sure I can secure my order before pickup. Jeff pressed on with the attitude, and stated that he was trying to do his job. Later I called and cancelled my order due to poor customer treatment. I stated to Jeff that I hope my action was a learning experience for him to treat his customers with respect. Jeff proceeded to argue with me by stating that I was just as much at fault for him to raise his voice with me. Reading over other reviews, there is a trend of this owner disrespecting his customers. My advise to Jeff would be to focus more on the business side, and hire someone to face customers. Clearly, Jeff doesnt know what good customer service looks like. Meanwhile, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Just wanted to say thank you for the excellant service. They advertise to be open at 8.00, however I showed up at 7:45 and they helped me get my load and I was out of there by 8:00. From the owner to the helpers. there was no cursing, drinking or yelling at customers while I was there. This day this kind of customer service is unheard of. Cannot tell you how many times I have gone to a business and they will not unlock there doors until it is time. does not matter if there is a line of people.I have read some bad reviews on this business it is sad, because I have never seen it. He has been in business for over 20 years and that is not from bad customer service.

Terrible customer service, sub par delivery drivers and bad management. I bought a pallet of grass and had it delivered on a Friday. I gave instructions to leave it under the tree on the left side of my drive and I needed on Friday afternoon. The person I gave the instructions to turned out to be the driver who delivered it.Well my Friday started out bad, not Fort Worth grass and stones problem, but they didnt help. While I was on the way to make arrangements for a relative who passed that morning I get a call from my daughter. She says that the grass was delivered. They not only didnt place it to the left of my drive under the tree, they didnt place it in the drive. They placed it on my curb wedging it between my mailbox and a crepe myrtle under my pecan tree and the crepe myrtle. They also sat it on my lantana and another plant. My daughter also said that people were stopping by, because it was literally hanging off of the curb, and taking grass off of it.When I called to get answers why my delivery wasnt done at the right time and placed in the spot I said. Chris told me he didnt know but they were slow so he wanted to get things delivered early. He would talk to the driver and call me back. He did call me back and said the driver said there was no room in your drive and under the tree. I said really but he wedged it under a tree on the curb in a smaller shorter spot. He then told me that the person I gave my original instructions to was the driver and he would call back. I let him know that the placement of the pallet was on plants and was being stolen because my instructions werent followed. My daughter was now sitting in a chair reading a book to keep people from stealing our grass.Well here we are, at the time of this review, 3 weeks later, no call back from anyone at Fort Worth grass and stone. No apology, no offer to replace the grass stolen or plants that were crushed. At this point I would have even accepted a my bad bro, sucks to suck. At least then I knew they would have at least acknowledged me and the mistake.So please AVOID using this company.I still need grass but I think I will go to another company.

I am not one to write a review but this place is terrible. By far the most arrogant and rudest people. They have hidden fees and if they sell you crappy rotten grass...tough. I truly cant believe people like this make it in business.

The owner is grouchy every time I go there. The other times I was able to shrug off his rudeness but this time Im fed up. First thing he does when I walked in was him accusing me of speeding through the properry and that he has little dogs running around the property. Apparently he doesnt like vehicles driving in the dirt road causing dust. And if you have dogs running around then he needs to put up a sign at the entrance. Im not sure if that rudeness is just his personality or what, but if it is, then he needs to not be behind the counter.

The owner of this company doesnt need to be a business owner. He is very rude and disrespectful. If you question his products or his service be ready to be yelled out. My husband ask him about some missing rolls of grass on the pallet he was picking up. He started cussing and throwing grass on the trailer. If you dont believe me read the complaints on the BBB and the ones listed here. This man needs to take anger management classes.

These reviews are ridiculous! As a Contractor & a Homeowner, Ive been dealing with these guys for over 1 year now, and I always receive excellent service! Their yard is the cleanest around - everything is very easy to view, their office is spotless and their price list is very straightforward. Ive never had a problem with their grass, stone or service. The deliveries arrive on time, the communication is excellent and the service is very fast. This is one of the best operated landscape-related businesses in the area - period!The fact is, most homeowners are ignorant about home improvements, and too often place the blame on the supplier, when in fact, they should hire a professional to perform this type of work. I see this all the time in my business... a homeowner purchases (sod) and then blames the supplier and complains about how their lawn looks. Upon inspection, I notice that they always just throw down the sod over a poorly prepped surface and then just expect it to grow - it begins to die within a matter of hours! Sod is very delicate and needs to be installed immediately and correctly, and watered tremendously in order to flourish. Its as simple as checking the internet, youtube, etc., to understand how to properly install something like this, but people refuse! Instead, they like to place them blame on someone else. Too many business reputations are made to suffer at the expense of homeowner ignorance! As a fellow business owner, I have to say - the customer is not always right.

People stay away from this business at ALL costs!!!! The owner is a raging lunatic, who yells at and berates his customers. He has an extremely foul mouth, he does not pay his employees for their hard worked hours, leaves his drivers to fend for themselves while theyre out until 10pm even though the shop closes at 6. He downs cupfuls of hard liquor when its closing time and then flies out of the parking lot in his truck. He yells, screams, and curses his employees. Dont let the man fool you, hes a pretty good story teller, except that hes a drunk and loose lips say a lot more. He blames all his problems on his employees, yet theyre the ones making him money and trying to keep the customers they do have. All of this has been witnessed firsthand. Horrible business, horrible ethics, and a drunk madman on the road everyday.

These reviews really almost scared me off from using this place. Being that there are almost no other choices in the area, I bit the bullet and gave them a try anyways. After using them, I can say that the bad reviews here seem completely unwarranted. I had no problems at all. I called ahead of time to ask if they had what I was looking for (bermuda sod). The girl who answered was helpful and polite. When I showed up, and told them what I needed they got me set up right away and were just as helpful. Its not even a week later, and my sod is already starting to take pretty well. I guess bad reviewers here dont realize they have to prep the area and then keep the sod watered down and then take it out on the supplier when it doesnt take? I dont know, but I would recommend this place personally.edit: This will be my second season with the turf I purchased here in my lawn. I have some parts that I seeded and the other parts are this sod. The whole lawn obviously went dormant through the winter, but now that we are headed into Spring the sodded areas are greening up very nicely, while the parts that I had seeded are still looking rather sad. just thought Id add that bit on here

Horrible place, grass was moldy half way through the pallet. But according to the owner it was fresh . Seemed like all he wanted was my money and he would say or do anything to get it. Dont waste your time, go somewhere else.

I recently bought a pallet of grass from Fort Worth Grass & Stone. It arrived covered in snow mold (a fungus) and promptly turned brown and dried up withing 24 hours of putting it on the ground. I called to get it replaced or my money refunded. Phone calls werent returned until I threatened to file on my card to dispute the transaction. The owner finally called back, told me that I was stupid, should get a clue, that he had too many problems to deal with one measly pallet of grass but would not pick up the faulty grass and would not refund my money. Do not ever use them for your yard. It was one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had.

Regularly see their truck driving around at insane speeds maneuvering erratically. This morning they were driving 60+ through my residential area.

The owner was rude when we had an issue with our sod delivery - just as the other reviews suggest.*************But the grass took fine.

I walked in and was looking to purchase sod, stone, and soil. The man there was VERY rude and offered little to no help. I started off by telling him I was looking for sod and his only response was a sarcastic okay...? after a long pause he finally asks what I want, which was why I was there in the first place, to see what they had! To my disadvantage, I dont know what to buy so I was hoping to get some help but I guess I came to the wrong place. He seemed annoyed by me from the start and it seemed to get worse when I started asking about stone and soil, so I took that as him not wanting my business. I ended up going to OK SOD in Keller for the grass, and Fossil Creek Tree Farm for soil and I guess Home Depot it is for the stone! This guy may have just been having a bad day, but I will never purchase from here.

Ive bought 4 or 5 pallets of bermuda over the last two years, and it all looks green and healthy after a week or two of daily watering. I can usually get in, pay, and get loaded up in about 5 minutes too.

I dont recommend this company the owner is very rude, I dont understand how this company still in business if they provide low quality and horrible customer service, they need to take some classes of how to deal with customers.
