Im sorry but it was just not good. Ordered chicken fried steak. Im only 5 miles away. Delivery time got moved up to even later. Food was super cold. I ordered extra gravy & received none at all. Great Neighborhood GrillFirst time visit this morning. I went in hoping for a nice place to sit down and have breakfast. I ended up finding a cozy, pleasant and delicious diner. With cute, unique, local fiftyβs decor. Our server and cooks were friendly and welcoming. The food was just as great. Awesome flapjacks. They have breakfast in the morning. Than lunch and dinner. They have all the comfort foods. And a liquor license to boot. My first visit. But more visits to come.
Absolutely fantastic visit. Food was delicious, very authentic, very fresh. Ordered the chicken fried steak (had been craving for a while), was not disappointed. Dad ordered the philly cheese steak, Mom and Dad said it was great. Wife had the Hawaiian burger, great combination of flavors, (add grilled ham to it and its a mex burger). Had home made onion rings, fried to perfection, fried okra and corn pockets (nuggets). Absolutely delicious. Great menu, plenty to choose from, great atmosphere, excellent staff. Had the opportunity to meet the owner, who absolutely livened up the visit. Seemed like we had know her for years. Great family restaurant. Definitely be back.P.S.Order first, then grab a table. Ate here for the first time the burger was juicy and huge the grilled zucchini and squash was delicious! The onion rings were absolutely amazing and a half order was plenty and huge! Our server was great! As a Local Guide I highly recommend this place! The only down side was a lady that talked incessantly at higher pitch than a dog whistle! But you find them everywhere! We will be back hopefully we can be there when that lady is here snd we can hear the next chapter in her life we heard at least 4 chapters today LOL!
Food was good. Grilled chicken salad was excellent. Fried okra was very tasty. Burgers were a little better than fast food. Fries average. Unsweet tea was fresh and carbonated beverages were not flat. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was pleasant. Dining inside and outside or pick-up.Apparently their pot roast is good because several people asked which day was pot roast day.

The food was fabulous and the service top notch. They have a large selection of food and very reasonable prices. We both cleaned our plates. Definitely will have to go back the next time I/we go to Fort Worth.

Very Disappointing & Definitely Not What I Expected after reading reviews. Wasted $40 of gift card on food we threw away. Wife ordered Hamburger Steak w onions brown gravy, mashed potatoes & green beans. Meat taste like it was previously frozen & microwaved w hardly any gravy. She took 2 bites. I took I bite just to see what the deal was & agreed it was that bad. Trashed it. I ordered the Southern fried catfish. Says when ordering it comes w 2 catfish but only got One. It was fair at best. Sides were meh. Ordered Cinnamon Raisin cookie & received a Cinnamon roll instead. Maybe they were having one of those days but it was $40 for my trash can so...

This is a small neighborhood diner. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Service was fast and people were nice. The food came out hot and fresh. I did think the mashed potatoes were a little salty but they are real fresh potatoes. The Chicken fried steak was hand battered and the meat was good. Could have been fried a little longer some of the batter was mushy under the crust. Gravy had good flavor but a little thin.I will go back and try something else on the menu as they have a lot of choices. 3 Stars.

While in Fort Worth, Texas on business and staying local to the neighborhood. I visited Old Neighborhood Grill for breakfast and found myself enjoying my visit with great service and good food. You will have a flash back on the Back in the Day feel of a neighborhood eatery. The prices are fair and the food is really good. I order the breakfast platter and everything from the eggs, potatoes and display of the food was perfect! Everyone inside the place was nice and talked to you as if you were a regular. Business had me extremely busy where I only made it to the Grill on the day I was due to fly home. I really wish I stopped by on day one as the food, service and everything was 5 Star.
A little overpriced, again a place that forces a side item on you. You buy a sandwich or burger you get a side if you like it or not and that is not right. Took a long time to get my order even though I called it in. Food is reasonably big and good. All in all with the money spent and the time wasted, I can find somewhere else.
Just received my order. Disappointed. My burger was dry and had no veggies. No lettuce, no tomatoes, nothing. My meatloaf was greasy and I asked for brown gravy on my mashed potatoes. I got white. Also my cobbler was left out of my order. Ive order from them before and it was great. But I guess they dropped the ball on this order. I do hope that in the future that the delivery orders are checked before leaving the restaurant.

Its a great place to go(before it gets too busy) you want to get there before any meal rush........ breakfast is the best. After that lunch gets a bit too loud in the small place

Wanted to take my daughter out for breakfast and couldnt think of anywhere close by that was appealing so I googled. What a find!! She had a BLT & hash browns, I had a breakfast burrito with verde sauce, rice & beans plus a little bit of Uncle Jacks chili (which Im pretty sure was a molΓ© base). This is my new favorite place for breakfast AND lunch because it was SO GOOD that ShabuShabu and I went back for lunch got a chicken club with sweet potato fries and a bowl of Shrimp bisque that somehow was better than breakfast. Iβve been coming here all my life and Iβve never been disappointed! Even as a kid I would get so excited when told we were going to eat here. Food is awesome, employees are so friendly and their desserts are amazing! Definitely a place I would and have recommended to new people.
It was my first time trying it. Food looked good. It at least the food the OTHER people got. I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for service. All they did was walk passed me. They definitely knew I was there. The waitress said hi to me twice.I was asked by the owner to put the date and time. However, I recommend making sure everyone knows rather than singling out 1 or 2 specific employees. Much better for moral.
If you havent eaten here then you have been living under a rock. If you are wondering about the new ownership...they are Great and so is the food. Affordable with fast service. I eat here a lot of the time.

I ordered a Turkey Avocado sandwich with small side salad through GrubHub today (with no drink). It came to $10.01 for a pickup order. The staff seemed friendly when I picked up the order.The sandwich seemed to be well-made with good ingredients but wasnt particularly interesting. The salad was just greens and two tomato pieces -- not all that great a salad at all.I wouldnt avoid this restaurant, but I wouldnt be particularly likely to order here again.

This was my first visit to the ONG and enjoyed my seafood combo - fried catfish and shrimp with two sides. My companions had the chicken-fried steak and a BLT and they both enjoyed their meals as well. Menu is broad, staff was friendly and attentive, and the price was a good value. Well definitely be back!

I LOVE this place for a great lunch. This was my 2nd time, its always great ! I was w/ a friend who had never been there, we both had steaks, sort of, for late lunch/ early dinner. The food is AMAZING. THEY HAVE A HUGE SELECTION, BUT YOU WILL not be disappointed!

I was craving meat and potatoes and gravy. Ordered pot roast dinners for my family, and everyone was happy! Tastes homemade and is reasonably priced.
I work at a hospital nearby. We placed our order at 1030 told it would be ready to pick up by 1130. I got here before 1130 and almost 30 minutes later still waiting for our orders. When I got back to work with our food. We still had a missing order. My supervisor called the establishment to get a refund at least. 3 days later no refund.Ill think twice about ordering here again for lunch.

We were looking for a different place to eat and this was my choice. My dinner was just fine, but my husband said his burger was dry. You order your food and seat yourself, your drinks are self serve. Their pies must be delicious, because as we ate our meal 4 different customers came up to order pieces of pie

When we first got there we walked in and didnt know if we sat down or they took our order at the counter, then we went to get some sweet tea it tasted like coffee as if someone accidentally brewed coffee instead of tea then it took awhile for the food to come out and then jalapeΓ±o poppers were cold in the middle, the lady did have them remade but they still werent great, husband chicken sandwich was dry ..I had the chicken club and I thought it was really good.
For starters, Ive reacquainted with past servers Ive never had a fail with. The atmosphere welcomes one to linger with an adult beverage...or two while waiting for a to go order. The patrons and staff are clean well mannered and cooperative. Old Neighborhood Grill...discribes this location perfectly.

Stayed several days with my husband at Baylor Surgical Hospital for his surgery. I could always count on an easy walk to ONG (across the street from hospital entrance) for a friendly smile and a hearty meal. Their pot roast, green chile cheese grits, tortilla soup, coconut meringue, apple, and pecan pies all get a YES! from us. (The hospital cafeteria food was not bad but has limited hours/service and is typically closed on weekends.)
Visiting Ft. Worth and happened across this gem due to, you guessed it, a google maps suggestion. Definitely a good choice. Several options from lighter fare, to burgers, to tacos, and even pot roast made selecting my meal a bit difficult, but the staff was very helpful with their suggestions and I ended up purchasing the steak tacos. Wife had the burger. Food was great, tasted like a home cooked meal, and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back if were ever in the area again.

I drove all the way across town for some takeout at Old Neighborhood Grill just to return home and find out I had only a tiny bit of gravy underneath two huge pork cutlets. I forgot that if you ever order anything there with brown gravy have to ask for extra. I donβt really understand why the portions are good size and then they screw you on the gravy? It happens every single time I go there no matter how many times I complain. I guess the cook thinks his gravy is the most expensive item on the menu? Either way Iβm going to seriously think twice about even going again because Iβm tired of my meals being ruined by something so simple as gravy. If you order takeout you better ask for extra gravy or you will be sorry. I donβt think I will return there again because my only consolation after calling to complain was being asked if I wanted to drive back across town for more gravy.*Update*I went back and ate and low and behold my pork cutlets were covered in brown gravy! Apparently the owner fixed my problem because it was the first time that I never had to ask for more gravy. The meal was great! Large portions and everything was perfect!

Well got to tell you, being a Philadelphia guy i tried their philly cheese steak and it turned out to be one the the best cheese steaks i ever had!!!! Tried the blackbean burger but didnt like it, and knew before hand i wouldnt. Owners are very engaged with customers and friendly. I love this place and will see me often. Cant wait to try the other stuff

We live just down the road, so ONG is a go-to for our family. We are huge fans of the chicken fried steak and the chopped steak, but by far my favorite thing on the menu is the fried green beans! Theyβre to die for. Great breakfast too!

This is my kind of place. Reminds of the kind spot you could eat / hang at from an earlier time. Nikki was super friendly and a little bit of a hoot but provided excellent service. The food is good and the portions are generous. I had the house salad with grilled chicken and it was large,fresh and delicious with plenty of chicken. The overall menu has numerous choices and has plenty additional items to personalize you order. There are ample dessert choices with plenty of pies, cobblers and cake. Ice cream can be added to anything. Located in the Ft. Worth medical district it is certainly worth the short trip, from any of the medical facilities, to give a welcome change from the run of the mill hospital cafeteria. They also have beer and wine available. I enjoyed my experience enough that I would consider returning even if Im not having to be in medical district. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Great place for lunch. Headed in with my wife and kids after Christmas in Cowtown. Friendly faces everywhere. We sat down and a kind waitress brought our kids some toys. Our food came out quick and hot. Great flavor, tender chicken. Best atmosphere for a cafe. Nice and quiet. We will definitely be back!

We went to UT Southwestern Medical for an appointment and then needed a late breakfast. We ended up at the Old Neighborhood Grill. The food was fabulous, the service was amazing and the prices were wonderful. If you love good old American food this is where you need to go. 5 Yummies!
