My overall experience was great! I was given what my online quote stated. The business dept. is friendly and you can see that they are actually working on everyone’s process and not just sitting around or talking like other places. I purchased a vehicle from this location this week and was relatively satisfied with the process until the end. I asked to be informed of my credit score they obtained because the rate they closed me at was very high. The salesperson told me that it would be disclosed to me when I signed my paperwork. While signing I was expecting to see a Risk Based Pricing notice within all the paperwork showing my score. When I did not, I questioned it and the woman processing my paperwork said it should be in the paperwork but did not see it and couldn’t explain why it wasn’t there and said that she didn’t believe it was part of the paperwork any longer. She then told me my salesperson should have told me what it was. I told her he told me the opposite. I signed paperwork anyway to get everything finished but with plans to get a better rate elsewhere the following day. Lastly, after I get into my car and head home, I notice the car had been VERY poorly cleaned, or perhaps not cleaned at all. I have found items in the vehicle belonging to the previous owner and the amount of human and dog hair between and under the seats is ridiculous. There are also crumbs and dirt down within the crevices of the trim pieces and the cracks of the seats. Needless to say, I’m very unhappy with the state of the car it was given to me in. I expected much better.
My car buying experience was great! Filled out the pre approval online. I had a very quick response giving me a price range I was pre approved for. Found the truck I really liked, applied for financing, got my payments options back very fast, chose my payment and term, sent my insurance card and Copy of DL, uploaded my documents onto the portal, signed all my documents online, got a one way ticket from San Antonio to Dallas, was driving my truck back home within 30 minutes. The best car buying experience ever! I wish all dealerships were like this. Quality vehicles, competitive prices and no haggling or having to deal with a salesman trying to sell you things you don’t want!! I’m very pleased with my experience at CarMax.

Had to edit my review.. car buying experience was great,, see below.. But today I tried to sell them my used car. Filled out all the info on-line. Got a good offer, made an appointment for them to inspect the vehicle. CarMax website even urged me to make an appointment, as they get busy on the weekends.. I drive cross-town, and check in at the Business Office, right on time. Im given a paper to fill out... all info that I already entered online. Then Im told there are a lot of people ahead of me, and it will be a 1.5 hour wait before anyone can look at my car.. I ask about my appointment ... business office troll looks me in the eye and says When we get busy, we dont use the appointments. I gathered my stuff and left. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience at CarMax. I mean, its a used car dealership, right? They had a great selection, the ability to search nationwide (my perfect Suburban was hiding in North Carolina), and everyone was honest, thorough, and pleasant. I kept waiting for the trap, and it never happened! Their cars are priced a little higher than other dealers, but you truly get what you pay for. I found 2 minor bugs on my used car, and they agreed to make it right without hesitation. Paperwork seemed faster than most places, and everyone I dealt with was just great. 24 hour test drive, money back guarantee, and a pleasant, no-haggle experience.

Service is very best of best. Right from the time you enter, you can witness cleanliness and great customer service.If you are there for appraisal or upgrade, they have you covered. Me and my mom went to check the cost of selling our Toyota camry 2013 modal.They thoroughly inspected the car by not touching it but instructing us to open and close all the sections like mirrors down, engine check, trunk and paint inspection.After inspecting it, they made us wait in the lounge area to get us the offer. It was not long wait when we got reasonable price for our car.We didnt choose the option to trade in so cant comment on that but overall the service was amazing and the service and sales people were nice to talk to.

This location has horrible customer service. Scheduled a car appraisal 24 hours in advance, showed up with my father to check in, only to be bounced around between numerous departments and then sent to wait for an hour! They weren’t busy, their were multiple service members and managers just sitting around. Ridiculous. Save yourself the hassle and if you’re local just go EchoPark. They got us in and taken care of right when we walked in.

Absolutely useless employees. They all have zero clue how to do their job and have incredibly shady business practices. Refinanced my vehicle the day after I purchased from carmax because their rate was absurd. Carmax ignored drafting papers from the credit union and are now harrassing me looking for payment. Will never ever go back and can’t stress how terrible this place is.

Bought my 2012 Tacoma from there bout a year ago, and was blown away with their amazing service. Took it when paperwork was done, and it was leaning right, especially at braking. Brought it back twice over the next week, and they humbly did $3,000 worth of repairs without charging a penny. Could not be more pleased. Best value for your buck, even though you pay more then, its worth it.
I was very happy with my experience at Carmax. They offered me more than the dealership date.
All my information was submitted, I just had to sign the contract and pay my deposit when I arrived. I had an appt through express pick up, but it took forever. The young lady that went over my contract was very friendly. When my car was bought to the front, upon getting in the car the car had the worst smell. So I drove to Target to buy air freshner, given that it was night I couldnt really inspect the car from the inside. But when I did the next morning, the car hadnt been cleaned it was dirty and Im sure it hadnt been disinfectant as well. I tried calling the dealership several times and no one picked up the phone. So I went to Walmart to purchase cleaning and disinfectant products so I could feel safe in driving. Horrible experience never have I bought a car that I had to throughly clean once purchasing it .
I was approved for a great amount and the person helping knew. He showed a couple that were around that which was fine. But, didnt try anything else this could have been super easy for him but he wanted to only sale to me what was there at the lot knowing that I could get from other Car Maxes. I was deeply disappointed he could have tried harder. Also it was super hot that day and he offered water when we were leaving everyone else there got something before they even sat down! Im so glad I left and got something I wanted at Autonation!
Had to go through paperwork process three times. Computers went down twice. Did electronic signatures twice then had to sign everything again manually. It was a giant cluster. 3 hours start to finish. I remember my first three car buying experiences taking 45 minutes max each time. Won’t go back. Rather go to a dealer and haggle.
This was a different experience all together. Only sold a vehicle, didnt need one. The process was super simple, started online, was completely honestly knowing they would be checking my statements, and got an offer. Went in, they reviewed the vehicle and agreed with the same offer I received online. The big call out would be there are no appointments, its first come, first serve. So be prepared to wait for a bit, else super easy.
Surprisingly, Carmax offered the same amount as indicated from the information I entered on their website. The offer was fantastic. I was very happy. Nice operation and pleasant employees. Very clean environment. The only negative was that while I had a clear title in hand and had made an appointment, it still took just over two hours to complete the transaction which was about one-half hour longer than I would have preferred. Other than that, everything was great.
Ram was extremely helpful! Will be doing future business with carmax because of him. His customer service is outstanding. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was what we went. Completely changed my perspective of carmax since the first time I went in.
The service at CarMax is the best. Very nice and wonderful associates. The mechanic Jeremy Brown is the best I have ever had. He took his time and let me know everything that I need with my vehicle. You can tell he love what he does because he really answered all questions and explained what does what to me. Dolly Ayala she is wonderful as well. I explain what is happening and she gets me in with no concerns. She also have great patience with me because Im not good at explaining what my car does. So her and Jeremy do well as a team to help me. Need more associates like them. CarMax is a wonderful place to get any car. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. So far all the associates that I came in counter with is no complaints. Love the service I receive every time I come there.
The process was fairly easy. Im disappointed in the delivery of the vehicle. I was not shown how to use any of the features my vehicle came with. It was detailed poorly. Its like you sign your papers, not even a test drive before, and they send you on your way. The car smells like smoke, they did say to bring it by and they would change the cabin filters out. Anyway, I like my car and the people that helped me along the way.
I went at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night thinking it would be dead because everyone else would be dining or going out somewhere. I was wrong. I was told it would be a 25 minute wait and they would call my cell phone. 25 minutes later I asked where I was in line. I was told I am next (yeah, right). I left and its now 4 hours later and no call. What really sucked is the number of employees standing around. SMH

I was about to buy a 2018Yukon xl price tag 46998 +TTL. Manger of store Declined the deal because I m asking for Floor mats . car don’t have any. I still don’t believe they declined the deal just for floor mats on $50000 car deal.
Do not do business with these guys. They are untrustworthy and will sale whatever vehicle you have on hold to whoever can get cash to them first. I had a Toyota Tacoma on hold yesterday for me to purchase today. After spending all morning on the phone with my bank getting the application I needed for the purchase, Anthony decided to sell my truck to someone else who happens to walk in today even though the hold is suppose to be for 24 hours. Not only did Anthony sell my truck out from under me, he didn’t think it was necessary to let me know that he had canceled my hold. No apologies from them either. They do NOT do holds so if they say they do they are lying. After sharing my story with others, this isn’t the first time it has happened. Don’t waist your time with these people.

Buyers beware!!!! Pleasant experience initially, but that only lasted 2 weeks. I received a call 2 weeks after signing all the paperwork, and driving the vehicle off the lot, informing me of an oversight by a CarMax employee in the business office regarding the lender and their stipulation for the financing of the vehicle. This mistake was confirmed by the sales manager to be theirs and theirs alone, but was attempting to put the responsibility of the mistake and solution for it solely on me. This is not an acceptable level of customer service in my opinion as it’s not my mistake for the oversight, and there was no communication about a crucial stipulation to the lender’s offer prior to signing the paperwork. So I traded a vehicle for one of theirs on the lot, signed the pertinent paperwork with everything laid out accordingly, and then I’m notified that I need to correct a mistake they made. The papers were signed a certain way, and those are binding. Yet, they’re trying to change the contract and rules after the fact. To say it’s a shady business practice is putting it politely. A zero star rating is the most appropriate although not possible!!

Our experience with CarMax was very positive. Our sales person listened to what we wanted and offered several cars that met our criteria. She was not at all pushy. It was the easiest car purchase that we have ever had.
I saw the truck that I wanted on the CarMax app, but it was listed as unavailable. After a week of being listed as unavailable, I decided to go to the showroom to get a good look at the truck. I met Ram Somaratne that afternoon and he was happy to show me the truck. He promised to keep an eye on the truck and he texted me a couple of times per week just to keep me informed. After 3 weeks on the unavailable list, the truck was transferred to the Lubbock store and Ram stepped in to have it returned to the Arlington/Fort Worth store. Ram called me the Saturday it got back to the lot and let me know when I could come in and buy it. Ram went above and beyond in making this truck purchase happen and I highly recommend him and CarMax to anyone interested in getting a new to them car.

We had a very good experience, I would definitely go back for my next car. The only thing that I was disappointed about was they told me they were going to fill it up with gas and they did not do that. Everyone was really nice and the process was so easy especially for purchasing my first car on my own.

CarMax was a great experience!!! Zee our sales man worked hard to get us the perfect car. I came in for a car I saw online, a 2013 model with 55,000 miles on it. I have a very low credit score, in the low 400s and he was still able to help us get a 2017 Nissan Sentra with only 31,000 miles; still under warranty and practically brand new. They didnt lie to us like other car lots did, and they gave us a fair price on our trade in ( 2000 Honda Accord with 308,000 miles on it ). I am so thankful for God, and his Mercy and him for allowing us to drive away in a car that, we can have confidence and security in. Thank you CarMax, we are so grateful!! And after we drive this car for a couple of years, well be back for and upgrade!!! Thank you to to the wonderful young man Zee and all your patience and help!!!

I tried the Sell us your car feature on the website and got an offer that seemed very good ($1K-$1.5K higher than other sites). I set up an appointment and went in. Carmax ended up offering me $500 more than the original online offer. The process of selling it was very efficient, even though my title had my deceased spouses name still on it. I could not be happier and have bragged on this deal to my friends.
It was HORRIBLE...It took them 5 hours to get my paperwork done...my Mom and I are co-singers ...she had to sit all that time with NOBODY asking she was ok or needed anything...Poor Customer Service...Now Capital One is calling me and asking for information that Carmax is suppose to be doing...Im NOT giving my information again..I will NOT recommend this Carmax TO ANYONE..GET IT TOGETHER!😠 Salesman was VERY IN EXPERIENCE ..😏😲😯😮☹🙁😟

Had gotten an online offer to sell my car. Went to the dealership and got the same offer. Took it, got a check and said goodbye to my car payment and insurance payment!! Very satisfied!
No question that the people are nice and that the process is efficient, but I have to question the integrity and commitment to customer service in todays market. I have purchased from Carmax in the past and used their service department, completely satisfied until this week. I identified a car that I was interested in and started the transfer process which was very simple. Once the car arrived and I was notified that it was ready except that when the details of the deal were emailed to me, the price was $2k higher than it was originally advertised for. The sales rep was able to see that the price originally placed on the vehicle matched what I was quoted but indicated that they had changed it at some point before/during/after the transfer was initiated. I was told that if I didnt have a picture of the price from their website they wouldnt honor it. I wish I would have know I needed that. I only received text communications from Carmax through the process and none of them indicated the prices. I will never do business with Carmax again and would advise others to pay attention to the details of the deal in todays new/used car market.

Bought a car from the Hulen location but have to go through them for service. I have had to bring it in at LEAST once a month since I got it, essentially doubling/tripling my car payment. Well, I just paid to pick up my car yesterday morning because I yet again had to have them address the check engine light (rpm dipping while idling, rough upshifting and down shifting, etc.) By the time I got my car home from work that night, not only were the problems still there, my car was now smoking under the hood. I called them and they said they wanted to get me back in to have it looked at. After one person said I wouldnt have to pay for anything this time because they obviously didnt fix the issue, the next person I talked to told me that if it wasnt the EXACT thing they last fixed I would have to pay again for the repair. Not to mention i will now have to put ANOTHER down payment for a rental car because they screwed up. Extremely frustrating. Going to tell everyone that thinks about going to Carmax to go somewhere else. Terrible customer service.

Place is so shady! They offered me one price for my car over the phone, then when I get there its a different story. I was planning on trading my current car (VW jetta) for a Camaro but they are clearly not there to help you, they are just trying to squeeze every penny from you as much as possible. I came here to get away from all the car dealer drama but they are just as bad.
Salesman was pretty useless. I already knew what I wanted otherwise unlikely I would have purchased from him. Was very close to asking for different sales person if he left again but decided to wait it out. Even had to ask special permission to bring truck to wife, 10 minutes away, even though they advertise a 24 hour test drive, I was asking for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Sales person acted like I was wasting his time.
