We like the southside farmers market, we like the hot food sold there lamb and vegetarian pies and fresh veggies and fruits and very close to where we live. Easy to get the parking inside or outside near the Edison playground. We go along with the family for breakfast and also for vegetables shopping.

This is a great local farmers market, and very popular with us locals. Good range of fruit & veg (including organic), meats, seafood, and a wide range of prepared food. Also plants and flowers, live music (usually) and breakfast and coffee, mmmm.. Parking is a bit busy since they moved here to the school ground, but we never have problems finding a spot across the road.

This market is one of my favorites in Canberra because it has a great atmosphere, excellent coffee and always a great busker/music and plenty of variety in stalls. These markets usually open at 8am on a Sunday. There is no charge to get in and they are dog friendly, so bring your fluff ball with you! Some of the stalls only accept cash so bring some with you. There is an ATM on site too just in case you forget. The price of fruit and vege here can vary a fair bit depending on what you are buying but the quality of it has always been good. There are always plenty of stalls that have bread, pastries, fruit and vege, seafood, meats and pasta. There is also a great stall that sells home made moisturizers. There is also a couple great stalls that sell plants. Whether you are after vegetable seedlings or flowers (grown or seedlings), you will find a good range of the seasonal plants available to purchase. There is normally a good amount of seating available at these markets, either in the sun or shade (depending on how busy it is) and also normally plenty of parking on the grounds or just across the road at the Edison park car park. There are also public toilets at these markets so no need to panic if the urge arises!Go an enjoy the atmosphere!

So relaxed and all the vendors are super friendly and helpful! Heading to the Southside Farmers Markets has become part of the weekly routine. Theres always something delicious and often something new to discover. Very pretty friendly with a range of animal treats and options, in addition to a wide range of organic and dietary inclusive options across the board. I head in and grab delicious coffee and a pastry for breakfast and then take my time moving around the markets. Because its smaller and more relaxed than the EPIC Farmers Markets, I much prefer it.

An eclectic range of products on offer, lots of fruit and vegetables, some bakeries, cured meats and some sweet treats. There was two coffee carts the day we visited, one was doing a roaring trade. I was surprised no one was doing bacon and egg rolls but there were pies, sausage rolls pastries and bread on offer, abd some delicious Swedish sweet rolls. Worth a visit as it is genuine farmers and producers with thier goods.

Dont park on the street here!! There are a lot of fresh produce stands. There arent as many booths here that are for products people made. There is a good dog treat booth, a very fabulous cheese spread booth, and Doms is there. Each time I go as the weather warms up there is more booths.

Good quality fruits and vegetables. Organic options as well. Quality stuff lasts longer. But if youre looking for budget options then its not at all for you.Lots of food stall has made it more of a breakfast/ lunch point rather than a fruit/ vegetable market which has made it over crowded. So be careful if youre not into busy places.

So much great food! I usually start with something for breakfast... A porridge or muesli bowl with a coffee and then do the loops for fresh fruit and veg, some meat, some fish, some nuts maybe even some craft beers. After I grab some cheese to go with the fresh bread, then I grab some pastries or cannoli to have later on. Easy and free parking and close to home.

Have been going less since the move from CIT Woden campus, there seems to be an increase in the number of ready-made & non-food stalls with the result it has become less of a farmers market and more of an open-air food court. Also now too many people (especially yelling kids and dogs) to feel relaxed. Last time I went I had to leave straight away as it was just too overwhelming.

Review №69

Excellent market. More stalls every few months. Vegetables are cheaper and tastier than at the shops; stall owners are always very friendly and will happily tell you all about their farms if you just ask; even the meat that is expensive will go twice as far as anything you can buy at a supermarket, so in the end the price is about the same.Recently, people have also sold dried legumes, pulses and nuts which you can purchase in paper bags or bring your own lunchboxes for. I love it because it means I can save on plastic without having to go to more expensive health stores (which have loud music and are obsessed with weight-loss products). You cant beat the whole-cream unhomogenised milk, which is far creamier than anything you can buy in the shopping centers.Suggestion 1: Occasionally a stall owner will call out get your XXX produce here! Only $$. This behaviour pulls me out of my relaxed mood and puts me off from visiting those stalls.Suggestion 2: Encourage people not to park inside the college parking area, unless they are elderly or disabled. Many cars are competing for spaces, lined up one after the other, and blocking pedestrians. Theres plenty of space outside the fence, and will only take a minute or so of extra walking.
