While we love Menards....the Illinois road location is by far the worst in customer service. Never do they offer assistance. We always have to actively seek someone out. Today was the end of it for us at the Illinois road store. We needed a large quantity of mulch among other items. While we pull around back to pick it up we see a young man with a tiny dust pan sweeping up a few shreds of mulch on the ground. He says nothing to us as we are out walking around trying to find the mulch we purchased. Once we locate it (or what we believe to be it) we begin loading as staff continually stands by watching. I myself climbed the mountain of bags to reach the top and began handing bags down for my fiance to load in the truck. Seems to me that from a customer service point you wouldnt want your customers climbing pallets of things to get what they need but since we couldnt get anyone to assist we took matters into our own hands. Do better Illinois road. The other Menards are making you look like a joke! Ill spend my $700 elsewhere next time

I had to purchase on Illinois road in fort Wayne Indiana I bought a toolbox I really didnt pay attention to it that was my mistake but I couldnt put a lock in it to lock up my tools. Upon returning it and I use my debit Visa card. It is pending it could take up to 10 days. When I bought the product it took 30 seconds to take the money off my card no one should have to wait 10 days for a refund or even 10 minutes if it was bought and paid for and you take it back with the receipt you should have your refund right then and there I am disappointed in Menards and Ill never shop there again. It is greedy big corporations like Menards who gives small businesses a bad name there should be no way it takes an hour or even 5 minutes to get your refund back after you spend it on a debit card its just like money this is ridiculous dont shop at Menards

Frequent shopper for a wide array of home improvement necessities. Never been disappointed in their supply or the staff. Specifically wanted to highlight Conner in the Kitchen Department. Shes fantastic to work with and really knows her stuff, a huge help to our projects!

Don’t buy laminate floor from them. They don’t stand behind the product. I was told by employees that it was a durable product. The first day I laid the floor it was scratched by normal use. It continues to scratch so easily. If their staff had been trained correctly to explain that this floor scratches easily and is not a durable flooring I never would’ve bought it. It’s good for kitchens and some bath applications, but not for any high traffic areas. I had them send out a representative for the company and got a letter in the mail that said this is normal wear and tear.If it’s a professional store I think they need to train their staff better to explain the pros and cons. I tried to ask the best questions I could, but only ended up with an expensive floor that’s all scratched. You’ve been taking precautions didn’t solve the problem, it’s still getting quite scratched because it doesn’t have a hard surface. The joints also didn’t seem to fit together very well.I like Menards in a lot of ways, I don’t like look for service I got flooring. It’s probably better to go to a professional store and get that place and buy a floor there.These pictures are after I laid it the first day.

Its was ok until we had to wait 55 mins in the garage part for 2 pieces of j channel in the freaking rain and he still was gonna fly by us until I waved him down. Not cool

Its definitely an experience.Most of the employees are helpful, knowledgeable, engaging.Were looking forward to shopping when the single employee who isnt helpful wont be shouting at customers and other employees from 2 aisles away.Otherwise, great prices, wide variety.

I enjoyed looking for some bargains and I was delighted with what I found. Menards is not near me so I havent been for awhile and I had forgotten all of the gems that you can find there. Ive will certainly return again soon

How can you not love Menards? Hubby can get what is needed and I get to explore everything from outdoor furniture, plants, home decor, and snacks! If I could change one thing, it would be the pickup area in back. We have yet to have a pleasant experience in that area, so we choose other home improvement stores for larger needs.

Very helpful store staff, always had good luck here with stock and they seem to regularly beat other home improvement store prices. Only thing I wish is that their online website showed at least aisle numbers for products to help locate things (but thats a corporate level issue)

I love this place. Not a fan of sending in a form for 11% rebate on a 7.99 purchase though. That aint even = minimum wage for the effort. 🤣Gimme 6.5% off now and Id be happy.

While the selection is impressive and vast; the customer service and assistance is lacking. On several trips to this store between 6 am - 9 am, I have had to wait for people to show up when I asked for assistance in locating an item or getting something that was on a raised rack. I have yet to have one person actually ask to assist me. I have had to go find someone for assistance. To see employees walk by me repeatedly without asking if I could use some help (which is a definite yes in this maze of a store), is disappointing and frustrating. What happened to simple customer service? Absolutely disappointing.

The customer service was the best. The floor attendant, Laura, went above and beyond to help my family with our new lawn mower & other Summer gear.Laura definitely made me into a return customer because she is so helpful and kind.

Today, I went to Menards, and was treated rudely and unfairly. I approached Ben, an employee in the Flooring Department. I asked my question. Without answering me, he sternly, coldly, asked if I had a mask. I said no, I have a medical condition that exempts me from wearing a mask. He said well we have other ways for you to cover your face. I looked at him incredulously, Youre kicking me out because I have a medical condition that exempts me from wearing a mask? He shrugged and said coldly, thats our policy. You can order from Menards.com if you want. Well if Id wanted to order online, I would have. I came to Menards to compare two products and then I was planning to buy one of the two products. I gave Ben a Look with a capital L and walked out without buying anything. I used to be a regular shopper at Menards, buying thousands of dollars of products. Now I may not shop there ever again. Home Depot treats me better than this. I have never ever had any business continue to tell me I needed a face covering after I mentioned my medical condition that exempts me from wearing a mask or face covering. Menards does not care about their customers with medical conditions. This is the second time I was treated rudely by a Menards employee for not wearing a mask. The first time was at the Warsaw, IN Menards store. I wish I could give them negative stars. I feel hurt, offended, and turned off by Menards.

Busy day - black Friday. Stopped in for items to perform minor home repairs. Staff were courteous and helpful, even as they zipped about to-and-fro refilling stock. Checkout lanes running at warp speed.I live out of state but always visit this Menards when Im in the Fort and need home repair goodness.

The crew in the back when I picked up my portable garage was fantastic very gentle loading everything with a fork truck and the young lady that was driving one of the fork trucks was so professional and gentle Menards does everything so professional that they can so they dont mess up your vehicle that youre trying to load Im very professional people in polite and helpful thank you very much for caring about my vehicle and being professional

Manards has alot of home improvement supplys! Reasonable prices. 11 % rebate is great .....if...you send them in...I will be buying my supplies from Lows where I dont have today deal with rebates ! Both are priced about the same, with not enough staffing ...but the staff at both are more than helpful and knowledgeable

Worst experience Ive had at Menards! The store was not clean, the cashier totally ignored me at check out just kept talking to her co worker. I said excuse me but we are the customer you could at the very least look at us. Then the purchase we had made and measured for was suppose to be 15 and there were only 14. Truly service is suffering at Menards.

Workers are trained to be very aggressive about the mask situation. Home Depot and Lowe’s hand out masks for free. Plus they won’t be aggressive, they’re very professional and courteous. Menards charges 62 cents. Last time I’ll ever shop there.

Just spent over 30 minutes in the lumber area looking for our order. The guy at the guard shack could not direct us. He pointed at a large open area and said it is probably over there. The guy stocking didnt know either. We located some of the lumber in the area pointed to then asked yet another pair of employees for help, who simply replies that they didnt know. Upon reviewing our reciept we found that the lumber cashier rang one 1x6x8 and one 1x8x8 which we would have to fix inside instead of two 1x6x8 like we requested. After only locating the 1x8x8 near an employee who once again did not offer to help we chose to take 2. Guard would not let us out due to the discrepancy but once again offered no help. We finally located the last piece of wood and left with mismatched pieces that dont fit our project. When I called the manager her excuse was that it was hectic and she said she would pass on the message. I will def not visit this store anytime in the near future.

I bought the wrong size of shade and returned it, then picked out the correct one. The exchange went flawlessly and quickly. The associate who waited on me was pleasant and efficient.

Order my items online and picked them up. Took me a bit to find where to pick them up. But service was wonderful, they helped me find everything and put the heavy items in my car.

Most girls like Macys...I love Menards!!! They have everything I need and more... candy too...

During the pandemic its the one place that keeps appliance in stock. Dont have to wait months or who knows when to get your appliance. This 2020 into 2021 we have had to get a new washer, dishwasher and now dryer. And the associate Shawn has helped us twice now and has knowledge on the appliances.

Has pretty much everything you need and would be a 5 star however... when checking out the cashier rolled her eyes at customers asking simple questions! This should never happen with how nice the customer was asking. I try and respect everyone and expect to not have an attitude from cashier when my family is spending hard earned money.. I cannot blame a whole business for lack of respect from 1 employee so i will not give a 1 star either!

I will never shop at this Menards location again. Illinois Road, Fort Wayne Indiana. I have medical conditions spelt out in Governor Holcombs executive order as making me exempt from the mandate to wear a mask. This location had NO signs saying they required customers to wear a mask. I shopped with no issues for 2 carriage bolts and some hornet spray, less than a $10 purchase. When I approached the registers, a female employee informed me that I HAVE to wear a mask, or they wont check you out. This is not acceptable. I set the items on the floor, and without so much as a raised eyebrow, walked out and drove to Lowes just down the street. At Lowes, I purchased the same items, hassle free.Menards is the ONLY large store I have been to during the last 8 months that has insisted on the policy of mandatory masks, and this location is the only one where I experienced these events described above. I will never shop there again, and am contemplating taking my business elsewhere, altogether.

Just seeing them refuse service to a person who would not wear a mask because it was given in breathing problems and he had a card from his doctor showing he is exempt under the order but they refused to give him any service makes me wonder anyway she really shop here

Every time we step foot outside our house, we assume a certain level of risk. We then have to assess our own personal risk level and make decisions accordingly. This has been true for all of human history. So for a business to enforce and make mask wearing mandatory for their source of revenue is not only bad business but completely despicable. Menards is not our parents, and more than likely, all of the potential customers are fully capable of making adult decisions. We can assess our own risk level and decide for ourselves what is best. Forcing everyone to wear a mask in order to enter their store is assuming that we are not intelligent enough to know that it is bad to cough or sneeze on other people. Not knowing others medical history, we could easily be considerate enough to keep our distance from each other for the sake of everyones health. It seems that a large blanket policy to keep the small number of high risk/vulnerable people safe is very ignorant and may actually come with unintended liabilities for the company. If shoppers are negatively effected when their breathing is restricted in any way, this could be a problem. I fully support Menards right to make policies (as ignorant and overreaching as they may be) for their own store. They own the store and may operate it how they see fit. However, as a result of this stupidity, Lowes has just gained another loyal customer.

They have the worst service and least knowledgeable employees around.The lumber is the lowest possible grade/ quality around. You have to spend 30 minutes sorting through a stack of lumber in the yard to find some partially straight stuff and thats IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND THE RIGHT BUILDING BECAUSE THE GATE WORKERS DONT HAVE A FRIGGEN CLUE.Today reminded me why Ill pay twice as much somewhere else. That place needs shut down. Completely horrible.

The real world is always full of risk and this is the same with COVID 19, but to impose on ones liberties to make others feel safe is just a loss of our freedom. It is one thing to hand out masks for free but to make me buy something I don’t want, well that shows poor leadership. Good bye, liked your stores but not your policies, your bigger competitors just got all of my contractor business needs.

Only disappointment is the large separation in the enter/exit doors. Your gonna walk. If you park by entrance, when you exit. I usually park at exit and enter there. Cuts down on travel.....

Great service! I purchased a lot of flooring materials on June 29th. The first employee that I encountered was a young lady who couldn’t have been older than 20. She was professional and kind, and she drove a forklift like a pro.Then I worked with a young man who seemed in the same age range. He too was outstanding and did an amazing job helping me to get the products into my van. I wish that I could name these fine young people, but it certainly impressed me.
