Predatory lending at its finest - a little long winded post, but worth the read. My wife and I recently bought out our lease and originally purchased the vehicle at another Ford dealership. Decided to use Bob Thomas as it was just down the road from us rather than driving 1.5 hours. Shame on me for not reviewing the purchase agreement prior to having the check cut from our bank. I assumed it was a straightforward car deal and they would appreciate the car sale for their forecast and dealership performance from the manufacturer enough to make this easy and worry free. After a review of the purchase agreement, they added a shadow marking ($300 add-on fancy name for window etching stickers) to our car deal. Mind you, nothing said we had to bring this vehicle to Bob Thomas to sign the paperwork nor did they ever ask us to make sure we brought the vehicle in so they could pull it into the service department and install the window etching. In fact, they told me I would be in and out in 15 minutes which further confirms they had no intention of adding the window etching to our vehicle.Just goes to show you even when you are helping a dealership out by giving them an additional car deal they will still try and screw you over. Not sure if they saw an opportunity of my wife coming in by herself and thought was an easy $300 for them to make. Unfortunately for them, I read over the agreement and am familiar with car deals enough to spot predatory lending when I see it. Buyers beware, just when you have a little trust in the automotive space, they always show you why you shouldnt. Im sure they will just say its default added to every car deal they do, and slipped through the cracks. However, any honest business would never charge you for a service they didnt perform and would make sure they didnt. They know they had no intention of adding this to my vehicle and wanted to make a quick buck. Hope this helps future customers when deciding whether or not to choose Bob Thomas Ford.
Great Place to do Business! Called about a truck they had, and met with Steve Robb. Took it for a test drive, and after hammered the details for the deal, and got a great deal. Steve was patient, professional, and went above and beyond to get some details ironed out. It was a great truck buying experience, and one that is centered on listening to the customer, and doing what they can for the customer. I highly recommend buying and asking for Steve Robb.
Besides the good cars, the care with the customer is wonderful. I bought a mustang with Jim Klein and that was a great buying experience. They put a lot of effort and gave me pretty good support to get the deal done. I definitely recommend them.

After visiting a few showrooms.... Bob Thomas West was the best place I’ve dealt with in a long time. They listened to my specific needs, found me the exact car and color I wanted and worked with me under special circumstances to make it a win win situation for both of us. Dont ever buy a Ford from this dealership. In fact, dont ever buy a Ford Period. My 2012 Focus power steering completely failed with less than 49000 miles on it. A replacement of the entire rack and pinion unit was needed at a cost of over $2100. This system should NEVER fail, yet I was stuck with a huge repair bill. Not to mention that the awful automatic transmission stutters and lurches whenever the AC or heat is on. But Ford and this dealership couldnt care less. Never buy a Ford. Youll be sorry and youll pay dearly in the end. Fords are junk! Wish that I could give a negative 5 stars.
Just bought a truck from this dealership. Wonderful experience and our sales representative, Justin, was friendly, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this dealership and Justin and definitely do business again with them.
Scheduled an oil change with Travis for 10:30. I get to the shop and they have no record of my appointment and tell me it will be 30 minutes to an hour before my truck even pulls into a service bay. I have a very busy schedule and when I make an appointment with a service advisor for a certain date and time I would expect them to adhere to it, not lose my information and stare at me slack jawed like I’m some type of sideshow freak when I tell them my appointment details. Super disappointed. I purchased my vehicle from this location. My salesman Jim and the financial manager Tim were both excellent at taking care of all my needs and I couldn’t be happier with their service. I thought the service department would match those standards but I guess I thought wrong. If the staff of the service department can’t be trusted to write down an appointment time, I wouldn’t trust them to work on my vehicle.
Very friendly and to the point. Never felt i was getting a run around or being pushed on something i didnt want. Im from out of state and did most everything over the phone. Overall the experience was great. Only negative note: I was charged $200 a ShadowMarking fee that i was never told about or informed of. It was just written into the paperwork and glazed over in the hustle and bustle of things. Im going to assume nothing was done with malice intent but it would have been nice to have been notified that an additional cost was added to the vehicle other than what was advertised. Shame on me for not looking at all the paperwork closer I guess. Other than that the experience was great and I am happy with my purchase.
Staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Andy and Ryan did a great job helping us find the right truck for us. We immediately tested the truck and drove a few hundred miles to Gatlinburg. The truck handled great! Jeff in parts was awesome in helping me get a new USB mod so I could update Sync 3 and use Apple CarPlay in my 2016 F-150. Next time I’m in the market, I’ll be back here looking.

I will give 2 stars based on a previous experience but the last was enough to send me running. They are not willing to take responsibility or even follow up on a major brake issue that left us stranded in another state after our vehicle was last serviced by them. No concern and only excuses. I did give a day to see if they might follow up on the issue but they chose not to. Do not recommend service here.
Overall great experience including my sales professional Cody. I drove nearly 3 hours one way to take a look at a 2018 Ford XLT. Cody was a great communicator prior to meeting him at the dealership. He answered all of my questions and provided pictures of the truck to help assure me that I wasnt wasting my Saturday. The truck was ready (and clean) for my wife and I to look over. We decided to purchase the truck but we were concerned that we would have to come back which meant an additional 9 hours to make the purchase. The team (Cody and Finance Manager Tim) told us not to worry and that they could get the transaction completed today so we could take the truck with us. WOW! Mind you, its a Saturday, 5:45 pm, the dealership closes at 6:00 pm, and they were willing to go the extra mile to close the deal. My wife and I left with a smile and the truck at 7:00 pm. Thanks Cody for a positive experience!
I have waited till my temporary tag expired and still havent received my title. I called and got no time as to when I would get my title from the a---hole I talked to.Never deal with them.
My experience at Bob Thomas Ford was just great. I drove a 2020 Nissan Rogue at this dealership and Steve was able to answer any and all questions I had. Steve wasnt pushy at all, he sent me off in the car and let the car sell itself. The atmosphere of the dealership itself was very laid back and I didnt feel at all out of my element or overwhelmed when I stepped inside.Unfortunately, I wound up going with a Toyota instead of the Rogue, but that was purely from the car performance. I would happily work with Steve and this Bob Thomas Ford location again and absolutely recommend stopping by if youre looking for a car!

Would not recommend. Poor customer service, vehicle was misrepresented. Listing showed that the vehicle had remote start, when we inquired with the salesman (Steve), we were told that it had it and that our sales packet would contain the instructions and key sequence to start the vehicle. Upon getting home, we realized this wasnt something that we went over when we received the sales packet and there were no instructions in the packet. Upon reaching out to Ford, I was told that the vehicle we purchased is not equipped with remote start. Steve also stated they do not fill gas tanks on used vehicles. When we pressed the issue due to it still being a $25K SUV, they agreed to put $20 in the tank. We drove almost 2 hours to test drive and purchase our vehicle and were treated like we were a bother. For a sale that was literally handed to them, you would have thought they would have been at least a motivated to make the sale! We will NOT be returning to a Bob Thomas dealership for our next vehicle.
Jim Robinson was very helpful, courteous, empathetic and worked hard to make my deal happen.I visited Saturday just to look around, after seeing an internet ad for a vehicle in Indy. We chatted and he made me a very good deal, but I never buy on my first visit. I returned Tuesday and we found one other vehicle at another lot that was an even better deal and was closer to what I wanted. We drove over and picked up the vehicle, and it was what I wanted. Although the title clerk was unavailable, Jim found a way to get the title work done that day. Very pleasant, comfortable, non-contentious, low pressure but willing to work hard when needed to get the job done. Afterwords Jim reviewed the features of the truck, got my phone synced and made sure all my questions were answered and I drove home Tuesday in my new truck.
I have to give the service department a huge thumbs up. I didnt even purchase my vehicle at this dealership however they have treated me with nothing but honesty when I bring my Explorer in for any service. I will not bring my Explorer anywhere else now due to their awesome customer service and honestly.
My boyfriend took his car there for some repairs. He paid for the charges and now they’re saying he didn’t pay and the accounting department is threatening to get an attorney to go after him for payment when they’ve already been paid. Especially when he used his debit card. They don’t even deserve 1 star. And Judy in the accounting department is very rude
Do not take your Ford Product there for repairs! I don’t know about their sales department but the the service department is the absolute worse I have ever encountered. They had my car for 3 days. I took it in originally for a ck engine light. They called me later and said it needed a total of $975 in repairs. I had them go ahead and “fix” the car. When I picked it up and drove it no problems but w/in 2 hrs the ck engine light was bk on. I stopped payment on my debit card and since then nothing but headaches and the light is still on. I finally dropped the car off agin to them. They just called me and said my bill is now $1300 because I still owe them from b4! They said the car will not be released until it is pd for even tho I had a verbal agreement w/ there Svc manager that I would release the funds when the car was fixed.
The customer service there is fantastic! My family owns a shop out of town and I am not able to get there for all of my vehicle needs. I needed a shop in town to provide the very best service. I know that I can trust and depend on John, Angela and their team in Fort Wayne. I hold them in the highest regard.

I had a great experience with the Bob Thomas Ford West team! I started looking last fall knowing I was going to need to change vehicles within the next year.Brian and Matt were wonderful to work with an very non-pushy. They gave me some options to try and didnt hound me as they knew it was going to be probably this year until I did something.Last week my motor went out in my Impala and I knew it was time to make a change. They found me the perfect Ford Edge and I am so very happy with it. This is the first vehicle purchase from Bob Thomas Ford West and we have been very pleased with the experience, and the purchase of the 2014 Escape Titanium. Ryan Johnson was a great sales person to work with. Very helpful, low pressure and informative. Nikki Hicks was wonderful on the check out experience and fit the financials to our needs and wants. They were both fun to work with and had many laughs together. Which seems odd when shopping for a vehicle, especially because I HATE vehicle shopping. BUT these two were a pleasure to work with and made the process so informative and so easy. My wife, Marcy, and I would definitely consider working with these two again for another vehicle purchase or lease and would recommend them to others!

Very good experience. They had the exact used Ford Edge I was looking for with only 16,000 miles. I dealt mostly with Ryan, who is one of the managers and I cant say enough good things about the way he handled every detail to my expectation level. That in itself is almost impossible. Unfortunately it was Ryans day off when I arrived to pick it up (which I knew ahead of time), but Jim Robinson handled the delivery to perfection. Their attention to every little detail was impressive and was the tipping point for me to be comfortable buying a car sight unseen.
Nikki and Matt Wilson were great. I recently bought a car off of there lot and have no complaints. Everyone was welcoming and had great personalities. They did anything they could to make my experience the best possible. Would recommend this dealership.
Stereotypical greedy salesmen and inefficient customer service
Service department tells you they will take care of you and all they do is try to ring up the cash register with unnecessary services. They refused to take care of my legitimate warranty claim which forced me to pay out of pocket just to get my car back on the road! Ultimately, they were forced by Lincoln Customer Care to reimburse me for wrongly denying warranty coverage. Sad that it had to come to that. The best descriptor for the service manager and her department is negligent indifference. They truly could not care less and act like you are bothering them.Sales department attitude is what you would expect from used car dealers in the low-rent district. Tells you your clean, maintained car is worth $500 and then attempts to sell you a trashed out rust bucket for $10,000. Their markup on even the most marginal vehicles on their lots is outrageous. I had one of the sales people tell me once that a car is worth $3,000 just if it runs, thats if nothing else works.Id rate them zero stars if I could!! The only explanation I have of the five star ratings is that its either all of the employees posting under duress or family of the owner. Avoid this place like the plague!
Bought a used 30000 mile vehicle, a FORD as well. I got the Bob Thomas/ANDY/RYAN guarantee, GUARANTEED its yours when it leaves their lot. Once they had our money, they wouldnt work with us in any way,shape, or form, apparently its AS IS, even if the 120 point inspection shows safety issues, was told it was fixed. They did offer me parts at THEIR cost, 745.00 for brake pads and rotors, almost triple cost of anywhere else. Cant even get a operators manual for my 2016 vehicle. Save your time and go to a dealership that actually values a customer.Id give 0 stars if i could.
Was quoted almost $2000 for a mechanical repair. Like most logical people I got a second opinion. The repair I was told was needed was not even necessary and even if that were the issue it could be done for $1100 elsewhere. My second opinion mechanic found the problem with my truck and fixed it for $430.I was saved $1500 and problem is resolved. Won’t be trusting Bob Thomas anymore.
Going into the dealer with an idea of the car I wanted, I was surprised to see how knowledgeable about their vehicles and how courteous the team at Bob Thomas Ford West is. They matched me with a great car, at a great rate. I could not thank them enough for all the work they have done.
My last oil change they forgot to replace the rear wiper like I asked. then a month or so after the service my battery dies. The post was very corroded. The mechanic who replaced it said it hadnt been checked in a long time. I check the paper work and it said my battery was fine. Today I stop in for an oil change and I am told the shuttle will be around 15 minutes. Thats fine. 30 minutes later i go to the desk asking where is the shuttle, told he is near by refueling. 15 minutes later he finally shows up. After 45 minutes of waiting i was told my car would be done in a few did I still want the shuttle. Not all my experiences have been bad but the service has dropped my last few times.
Ryan did a great job helping me figure out the best options to get into a new vehicle and worked had to find exactly what I was looking for and brought it in from another dealer. Nikki made the paperwork process painless. Im really enjoying my Ford Escape!

Dropped off a car that broke down on I 69. Spoke with Tim in service. He stated they would check it out the next day and give us an estimate. The quotes were excellent and very fair. The visitor from Az decided not to repair the car. Tim said it would be outside, no charge, and someone could come and tow it away. What excellent service and kindness to someone from a different state. The owner said no one in Az would have been that kind.

Had a brake issue less than 24 hours after purchasing and she got me right in and all taken care of. Great customer service from the service department as well. Just purchased my 2013 Ford Taurus form Bob Thomas West. I absolutely love my car. I appreciate the Ryans knowledge of the Taurus. Not once did I hear I am not sure let me find out...because he already knew the answers to ALL of my questions. Nikki in financing was the same way. She made financing my car very easy and seamless.I chose to buy from Bob Thomas not only for the the selection of Taurus that they had but it was that first greeting from Ryan. He greeted me in the parking lot with the sets of keys for the two cars the I as looking at. I didnt have to look for a sales person! Thanks again to a TERRIFIC sales team!
There is a very good reason I returned to Bob Thomas Ford after buying 2 previous cars there. The sales team is very good. Specifically Jim Robinson and Nikki Hicks were very helpful and easy to deal with. I can not recommend them highly enough. They made my transition into a new F-150 smooth and easy and helped me find the exact one that I wanted.
Salesmen Jim Robinson was very polite and helpful give me plenty of room to think and answered any and all questions.
Have been going to them for years for oil changes on previous vehicles and go across town to them instead of the dealership just down the road from me. Allot nicer people and just a friendlier feel. Just purchased a 2016 Mustang GT and Steve did a great job listening to me for months trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to get and did not pressure me to get it ordered until I was ready. The team there made sure I felt like it was a very special purchase and let me know what was going on the whole time the car was ordered until I took delivery. GREAT PLACE!!!!!!
We just purchased a new Ford Flex from Bob Thomas Ford on Illinios Road and we are so happy with the professionalism of Ryan Johnson. He was very helpful yet not overbearing on our numerous visits prior to deciding on the Flex. He offered to locate the exact vehicle that we chose when it was not available on their lot. We feel like he went above and beyond in fulfilling our requests. Financing was a breeze as well with Nikki. She did an great job of explaining our options and answering our additional questions. Overall, a great car buying experience !!
UPDATE: Over 1 year later(March 2019) and I still haven’t needed the turbo replaced, and no additional oil leaking....CONTINUE READING!!!!! GET A SECOND OPINION! I was in ford about three weeks ago for an oil change(first oil change since my warranty was up.) I mentioned that I had a few other things I needed checked out including a minor oil leak and some grinding. I just assumed the oil leak was my oil filter. After my oil change I was informed that if I wanted to repair all of my issues it was going to cost me $4300! My first reaction was total disbelief. My car (2013 Ford Escape)runs perfect how can there be that much to replace!? I was told the bulk of the cost (2k)was going to be a new turbo. I was told my turbo was leaking oil (there was another leak on the axle seal which was another $400). They had us convinced that we should trade it in because it’s only worth about twice that on a trade. We looked into it and they were only going to give me 5k, understandable since there is a huge repair. We sat on the thought of trading and decided against it because we found a small local shop to repair both leaks for $1500. They ordered the parts, dropped off the car, and the next day I was informed my turbo had no issues. He did everything he could think of to try and get it to leak/spit and nothing! NOTHING! I was informed that it looked perfect. No traces of any oil anywhere on the turbo but there were signs of oil around the new oil filter. Could the oil have been coming from the oil filter like I first thought? I don’t know for sure but I DO know is my turbo is fine and I hadn’t seen a drop of oil since my the last oil change. I also know that ford has lost our business and hopefully I am able to save some one else the headache. How dare you try and take advantage of honest hard working people! And don’t try to blame it on a technician mistake! If you are charging $100 an hour for labor I expect only the best to be working in your shop and I absolutely expect your supervisors to double check any excessively expensive repairs to make sure it is a correct diagnosis!
Completely unprofessional dealership. When I drove 2+ hours to pick up a vehicle, our salesman Steve Robb went on a quick test drive with me, and upon returning said we needed to immediately get paperwork done since he had another appointment shortly after, even though he was well aware we were coming from 2 hours away. Felt very rushed the whole time. Not only was the salesman unprofessional, 2 days after I purchased my vehicle tire sensor light came on and I discovered there were no sensors on any of my tires. After calling and complaining, they said there was nothing they could do even though the light came on as soon as I drove off the lot. Will not recommend this dealer to ANYONE!
Andy and Nikki made it very easy for me when filling out paper work and finding me a better rate. I appreciate them working with me and delivering quick, and efficient answers when I had any questions. Andy worked with me on finding the vehicle that worked for me, while Nikki lowered my rate down quite a bit! They were both great and I would definitely do business with them again in the future!

Ive been buying and having my vehicles tuned up at Bob Thomas Ford West for over 8yrs now, and cant imagine dealing with anyone else in Fort Wayne for new or used vehicle sales and service. From my first F-150 to my most recent purchase this last week, the staff has been friendly, low pressure, and helpful. Ryan and Nikki in the sales department and John and Michelle especially with service keep me coming back. I recently moved north to Rome City, but continue to do business with this dealership/service team...they are that good
Went in for a Saturday service to get my oil changed and my transmission fluid flushed.Saturdays are first come-first serve and they open at 8am. I got there a little after nine and was about 7th in line.I was there for about two hours due to some issues found by the mechanics. John went ahead and ordered the needed parts since I was under warranty and am scheduled to go back in about a week.Service was excellent and everyone seemed friendly. Ill likely keep them as my go-to dealer while I have my Ford.

We have bought several cars from Jim Robinson at Bob Thomas Ford West. All I can say is Jim is the best sales person that I have dealt with in 40 years of buying cars. Jim is knowledgeable and not pushy at all. He is excellent to work with. All of the staff is pleasant and I cant say enough good things about them.
By far the worst car buying experience Ive ever had will not go back if your thinkin about buying a car here you should just keep looking!! Watch out for the wrecked vehicles on the lot there is a reason for the low price.
Bought a vehicle that had issues. Reached out to the GM about it 3x and zero replies. Would not recommend to even get an oil change from this place.

I returned to Bob Thomas Ford because of the great experience I had with my last lease. My salesman, Jim Robinson was once again a pleasure to work with on the lease of a beautiful 2019 Ford Edge Titanium. He found the vehicle I wanted in the color I specified with the leather interior. He was able to get me several rebates, as well. I am once again a happy customer.
Beware! the prices they list on their website is not the actual price for the vehicle. Tried to charge us 2k more then what was listed. Shady shady.
Had a great experience at Bob Thomas Ford. Our second vehicle had been totaled in an accident so we were in need of another vehicle quickly. The team at Bob Thomas listened to us and what we wanted and needed - there was no pressure to look at anything that would not work for us or that we did not want.Everyone we dealt with was quite knowledgeable and was able to help us out. We were buying a used vehicle yet everyone knew the features and capabilities of the vehicles we were looking at. We have had experiences at other dealers where the salesperson knew nothing about the vehicle beyond price and miles. It was quite refreshing to have someone that could actually answer our questions.We are very satisfied with our purchase from Bob Thomas and they will be our first stop when it is time for another vehicle.

Despite a little confusion while dropping off for a transmission repair (my fault!), the team at this location worked hard to deliver great service in a timely manner and fully ensure everything was returned to working order. Going above and beyond, I left a pair of shoes in the courtesy vehicle and they even took the time to put them back in my vehicle before I picked it up. Great service, yall!
April 10, 2018. Just had my 2017 Escapes oil changed at the west location and the service was prompt, professional and Curtis gave me the special attention that makes one feel appreciated that you dont see a lot of any more. I have had 0 issues with the Escape in a year and 1/2, and am very happy with the purchase. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Bob Thomas West service department is second to none in the Fort Wayne area. The service writer John is always on Top of his Customer service skills and Michelle always is there to give you a positive experience. Then when your ready to pay your bill Tammy and Ashley from the accounting office are efficient in getting out of there in a timely manner. Thanks !

I want to thank you for hiring Mike Barbour as a salesman. I filled out the online form requesting information and then received and email from him saying he would be in contact soon. I was never contacted so I contacted him had a very pleasant conversation with him about leasing a truck and he said he would look into my requests and get back with me. I waited 8 days for a response and never got one, so I once again called him and he apologized up and down for not contacting me and again said he would look into it and contact me. It has now been over 2 weeks with no contact. So again thank you for hiring a poor salesman that does not really care about his customers, I like many people are very wary of car salesman and trying to find a good one is like hoping for a miracle. So my wife and I will avoid your dealership because if this is the type of salesman you employ we do not want to deal with any others. No apologies are necessary because they are not sincere and therefore not necessary. My wife and I are honest hard working people and want to be treated this way and no one there will do that. I just wanted what happened to us to be known because I do not think enough people who have had bad dealings with car dealerships voice their opinions or stories enough.
Salesman and Finance team was awesome. Scheduled an appointment on my lunch break. Sales had car ready for me when I arrived. I put deposit down and picked up car the very next day on my lunch break. Again sales had car ready for me to pick up and finance team had all paperwork ready for me. No pressure from sales and very personable team. Keep up the good work team. Will definitely do business in future.

We went looking for a specific type of vehicle that would meet my needs. I was looking for a specific color interior and exterior. The dealership just happen to have the only one we could find.The employee s went out of there way to assist us. because I needed dark tinted windows and a remote start, The dealership dealt with the company that would put this on my vehicle for me. I was very happy.
I recently got my 2015 Ford Escape at Bob Thomas West after months of searching other dealerships and online. I was coming out of a lease with a Hyundai Elantra and did not have a trade in so finding what I wanted at an affordable price was a must. I have to say that my experience with purchasing my escape was great....Ryan Johnson was very helpful in answering my questions, explaining things, getting me into my vehicle under my terms and he was not pushy at all! I do not like pushy sales people when I am looking to buy something and Ryan was definitely not pushy. The financial part with Nikki went very smooth and she was wonderful to deal with also! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! They had my vehicle 8 days for major warranty repair. I have had my truck back less than 24 hours and have an even WORSE problem than what I took it in for!!Whats worse is, I am now stuck, ONCE AGAIN, with no vehicle for the weekend because Service is closed and the people there gave me the run around instead of getting me a vehicle to use!!!I wish I could give 0 stars!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
