Professional staff over there, Josh, Mr. Mark and all of them are kind people, great car shop service and very good after service attention
Waste of time and in the end, we received a vague inspection report for $115. Will have to pay to have another inspection and get the work completed somewhere else. Its a good thing that we were encouraged just to come pick up the vehicle. The gentleman in front of us, who had paid to have work done on his vehicle, drove a way and then came right back to say that the check engine light was still on. Wasnt very encouraging that the mechanics response was...it wasnt on when I drove it. I dont know.
BEWARE! Do NOT have your car serviced here. They are a local small shop so I wanted to give them the business. Have been there a couple of times and have been completely dissatisfied each time. This last time, brought my convertible in to have the A/C repaired. They charged me over $200 to fix the A/C. It briefly worked but all of the refrigerant ran out so obviously it was NOT fixed. I brought the car back in thinking they would make it right by not charging me to properly fix the problem like they should have the first time. Instead, they quoted me $970 to PROPERLY fix the A/C! When I refused, they charged me $130 for adding a $10 can of refrigerant back into my vehicle which quickly ran out again.I addressed my dissatisfaction with Mark Farber (the owner of this business). He would only see his perspective and did not care about the customers perspective at all and refused to not charge the extra $130 which in my opinion was adding insult to injury after already wasting the initial $200. So I have wasted over $330 at this place and received nothing but wasted time and aggravation. There are plenty of shops out there. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOU VEHICLE!
I’ve had great experiences here. Mark and his son Josh are both very friendly and they listen to my concerns. Fair pricing, quality workmanship, and friendly. I’ve felt comfortable leaving my vehicle in their hands.
10/10 would NOT recommend anyone to this place nor will be returning. The worst part wasnt the fact my van wasnt fixed. It was the fact they neglected to tell me i would be paying for 2 different diagnostics, freon, and some dye. To them this is all normal, to someone with no car knowledge i was under the impression there was one diagnostic fee about $100 to check out my coil pack (that was brand new- and my van was still running rough) AND check out my AC (i had told them i was told my another mechanic it was the compressor and i had tried the freon with no avail.) and to do an oil change. They said to look further into my ac it would be another $100 i said no thank you. At NO point did the guy at the desk clarify that to look at both would be two separate diagnostic fees or the fact anything else they would do during the diagnostics would be an additional fee. i had called to go over the price since it was about double what i thought it would be (it was $317) the guy said this is what we normally do i asked for the owners info. I then called back to talk to the owner and explain the confusion and misunderstanding to see if we could work anything out. The OWNER Mark VERY unprofessional, said he had NEVER had any problems and there was no way his guy, a human, could have possibly made a mistake. So for $317 they told me what i already knew about my van and i got an oil change. IF i had known all the fees i could have changed my mind and went else where etc BUT the fact they didnt clarify i was FORCED to pay the $317 to get my van back. They could of fixed my coil pack problem but after finding out my bill was so high there was no way i was going to spend another $350 with this company. Only god knows what else they would of done that would of been normal and then charged me for. Now i have to take it to someone else and pay AGAIN. I feel taken advantage of being a young female and not knowing what all to expect and just needing help. Worst experience at any shop ive ever been to and 100% will not be returning.Just to add- The owner was never around while i was there or for the initial conversation. Thanks for reading my review.
Knowledgeable, professional service, HONEST! Great pricing. Would highly recommend this repair shop!
Great, quality service at reasonable prices--plus locally owned. Got an appointment quickly, problem diagnosed, and was able to pick my fixed car back up the same day! Highly recommend.
Josh is always great to deal with! They took my car back on time and only waited 30 minutes on an oil change. We will continue to bring our car to Arcola Auto Center.
Really nice guys--father and son business. No pressure, upfront pricing, quality work, great communication. I will be happy to go back again. And they have cats!
Arcola Auto Care is wonderful to work with! I give them an A+. They have always got our cars in a timely manner and worked with us around our schedule! They have the best customer service around by far. The cost was very reasonable! Thank you Arcola Auto Care for Amazing Service.
We are new to the area and wanted to avoid the exorbitant prices of a dealership, thus we found Arcola only a short drive from our house. Mark and his team were extremely professional and have seemed to fix the issues our van was having. I never mentioned I was military and yet they still asked if I was a veteran and provided a discount thereafter. Any veteran friendly business will be a business I support! Strongly recommend to all!
Great customer service. Completed in a timely manner and very convenient. I’m a repeat customer.
I have been bringing my vehicles to Arcola Auto Care for several years (starting when they operated as Whitley Tire in Columbia City). They are reliable, upfront, timely, and professional. Even though they moved from Columbia City to Fort Wayne, and I moved from Columbia City to Auburn, I will continue to go to Mark & Josh for my vehicle service needs. Peace of mind is worth the trip!
Dropped my car off Thursday and they gave me a ride back home. Was not expecting it to be ready for me to drive to work the next day because I leave around 1:00 p.m. but I called and told them I had a ride to work but just needed to get a couple things from my vehicle and employee Josh told me hold on a second,I think it may be ready for you,and sure enough it was ready. They replaced the power steering pump and flushed the system..steers great now and no more leaks on my garage floor.. this was after I had it looked at twice by another shop who could not find the source of the leak. They did a good job and were prompt and courteous. Will go back for sure !
I went off others recommendations and brought our van here. I met the owner and 1 of his sons. It’s a nice family run business. The cost was reasonable for the work they did.
Thank you for being fair and very professional with my olds. Thank you for coming to my house to pick it up as well as delivering it back home. It felt like family. Gods blessings to you as you help us with our wheels!
Despite the first significant blanket of snow all over the area which made the roads treacherous, slowing down rush hour traffic, school buses, and businesses, my Jeep went into a service bay at exactly its appointment time. The work was done expeditiously and I was back on my way home shortly. The charge for the work was minimal. Certainly less than I had allowed myself to approximate. The staff was pleasant and professional. The coffee was good (tho hardly warm). A+ 5 stars for sure.
Fast, experienced service. I had a great result from Arcola Auto Care!
Supper service always.
Went from a tire change to a tow and the driver was here but didn’t tow me and had no ETA. Never showed up and ended up cancelling
After driving past this shop daily I found myself needing some work on my car and decided to stop in here. It was the best decision Ive made in a while. I was so happy with their friendliness, communication skills and honesty. The waiting room is very clean and inviting. There is a cute little corner for children with toys, a tv with DVDs and books. You will also be greeted by the cutest little shop pup, Puddin. Ive been looking for a new auto shop and I wont go anywhere else again !
Took my car in with a top-side oil leak, they confirmed my suspicion that it was the valve cover. Fixed it for a reasonable price. Even texted me a few days later to make sure everything was still working well.Luckily, my hours are a bit flexible. Theyre only open 8-5 weekdays and those are the exact hours most people work.
We have brought my sons car in for a couple of repairs. The fixes were quick and very reasonably priced. We highly recommend them.
Josh and crew got quickly to the matter at hand and offered options for repairs over what I had anticipated. They did good work, on time and kept us apprised of the situation as circumstances changed. (In our case, the troubleshooting matter was with the battery and alternator.) I couldn’t ask for more. Thanks, guys!
I was able to leave my vehicle and borrow a loaner vehicle to receive tire installation and an alignment. My vehicle now feels better than before and the ability to borrow a loaner to get to work the next day was a very helpful system.
This shop doesnt do what you ask them to do, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Owner said that he is 72 years old and semi retired and doesnt have time to kiss customers ****. I have went to this shop numerous times even though they were more expensive thinking that they were doing more complete or better work, I NO LONGER feel that way.I took a car to Arcola Engines that I had just purchased, I knew the car needed some work and was evaluating how much everything was going to cost to get fixed. I asked them to look the car over and make sure that it was mechanically sound and that it ran well. I also told them that it felt as though it may not have enough power. They looked at the car and told me that it was missing the smog pump and the a/c compressor, they also said it needed a couple of motor mounts and a transmission mount. I asked if the smog pump or the a/c compressor affected the way that the car would run in any way and they assured me it would not, so I had them fix the other issues they had found. I also asked while I was there if they checked the fluids and they hadnt even bothered to do that, this should have been a sign of how bad of a check they had actually done. The car needed to be painted and needed some body work so after I took it from Arcola engines I took it to another shop that also performed body work. The mechanic stopped by to look at the car and instantly told me that it sounded like the car wasnt running on all cylinders. I was a little upset as I had just spent a little over $300 at Arcola Engines and they had told me that it was a good running car and that all I needed to do was give it an oil change after paint and it would be good. Come to find out the car needs a tune up including everything and the second shop I took it to wants $500. I tried to call Arcola Engines and give them a chance to earn back my business and was basically told that they were busy and didnt need anymore work. It must be nice to be so busy that you dont need or want satisfied customers.
Everyone was super kind and communicative with me. Honest and genuine service. Highly recommend this place.
We took our Ram here for service recently. They were efficient and polite. There is a nice family-owned feel to it. They have a little dog you can pet while you wait. We’ll likely go back for A/C service on our Caliber in the next few weeks.
We went to them when they were in Columbia City! I didnt want to drive further to get to them, but I am so glad I did! They will keep our business. They are trustworthy and always do a great job! Super nice to add in to all of this!
Had the battery and alternator replaced. a few weeks later there was an issue with a terminal bolt and they got it right back in replaced the bolts everything is working great.Brought in an old miata had what I thought was battery issues tested it out and starter was going bad. Replaced it and have had no issues since, starts right up every time.
Great Service. Great location. Very attentive to our concerns and in diagnosing what repairs we needed. Ask for Josh!
Everything went to schedule and plan. My truck is back on the road with no issues. I will go back when I need another repair. I recommend Arcola Auto Care.
They figured out exactly the problem which was causing our car to overheat. Arcola Auto is very honest and skilled. Our family will be using them often for future auto repairs!
I appreciate the good, thorough work the guys at Arcola Auto Care did. They were fair, honest and made sure my car was good to go. Thanks!
First visit since ownership change. They were amazing, kept me posted and got my son fixed and back on the road in no time. Very friendly.
Excellent fast friendly service highly recommend them as theyre very hard working and wont screw you over. Theyre also reasonably priced.
I have had my car here two times.I had great service both times. They were recommended to me and I am very satisfied with their work be and friendly service.
I was treated with honesty. They know what they are doing.
Very reasonable price and fast turn around on getting my vehicle back. Would highly recommend going here for your mechanical needs.
Always honest and fair. I have gone here for more than 15 years and have never been disappointed. You can trust these folks.
Best machine work in town! Speedy service, Excellent price. Ron is the man.
Wheel bearing noise is gone. New front and rear brakes work fine.
My sons Mustang was vibrating. I took it in to Arcola Engine because they were recommended to me. I told them I wasnt in a hurry and I didnt want to spend a lot of money. They called me after they identified the issue (harmonic balancer). They said it would cost $250. I said great, do it. They called me a few days later to say it was done but it still vibrates and theres a fly-wheel in the tranny that needs to be changed, the new total would be $750. I told them to stop, Ill come get. After $250 spent, the car is worse than before. You got to love it. This was my first and last time going to Arcola....
Their prices used to be a lot better but overall its good service
Called the day before and they fit me in and fixed the problem same day! Thanks for the friendliness, flexibility, and quality of work!
They did a very professional job, I have used them many times.
Best customer service and prices are reasonable! and did not take days to get my truck back!
Excellent service. Starting with the estimate, customer service and at the end and most of importantly, the quality of job.
This place is a total rip off! I am so disgusted by the work of these people. They worked on my girlfriends car. Just a small dodge neon. Well one day my girlfriends tire locked up, They found the problem (obvious problem, cant for the life of me remember it), and they said that it was going to be $252.82. This was way higher than it needed to be, since the part for the car was only $42, and the kit to install it was $11. The only way I know this is because I have my OWN personal mechanic walking me through how they ripped us off right now.So the parts were $52, and it should have only been an hour of labor, which is $50. So at a grand total of around $100 - $125 at max. Well, they quoted us at around $252.82. HOWEVER! When we arrived there, they told us that another part was added to the car because there was a crack in it, when we never asked for another part to be added. It was something with the wheel well, which they said was cracked, but this was not discovered during the purchase of the used vehicle? I am so furious right now. We paid over $230 dollars MORE than we needed to. Now when my girlfriend just went to take her car into the shop, the mechanic is trying to say that the head gasket is blown, but it has not been over heating or stopping randomly. I blew a headgasket, and it destroyed my car in a fiery ball of sadness, and I know damn well that my girlfriends is fine, but just to be safe, I am taking her car to MY personal mechanic, who prices well (email me if you want his number), and I will have him take a look at it. Also, the cars headlight went out, so we took it in and had them look at it. Headlight went out 3 times, and 3 times we visited. Then for some reason they installed a autoheadlight system (dont know price) without asking.UPDATE! Girlfriend just got told that it will be $1000 to fix her headgasket there, and they dont even know if it is cracked or not. They literally said it might be, but we should replace it anyway. The problem was that the 2002 dodge neon sxt would make a bubbling sound under the hood when it would be turned off. They said it was the head gasket for $1000. I took a look at it, and it was just a bad radiator cap. A $5 fix. FIVE DOLLARS. Not a thousand. This place is a complete rip off! I fixed it for 5 dollars and change and it hasnt had a problem since.
Ron is the best. Super knowledgeable, thorough, precise, and honest.
We use them for a lot of major repairs on our fleet at work. Never had a problem with them, always very quick on work and cost friendly.
The worst place ever to do buisness they was way over priced and rude I would never come here stay away I had to take my car to another shop to get it fixed right backyard mechanic s that work here stay away
Areola got me in worked on my truck when they said they would. Never had to call them to find out whats going on . I played what they said it would cost.
