I went in here for an interview. It was very disorganized. My interview was at 9am I got there at 8 55. 9:38 came and still no interview. The older lady was rude. Finally at 9:45 I left and told her I was no longer interested in interviewing

Awful experience out of the Ft Myers office. Please read other reviews.... I wish I had. 8 hrs late for pick up. Lost our two largest and most important items in our out of state move - our mattress and box spring. Absolutely no efforts on their end to fix this or apologize (referred us to Atlas for all claims) or take off the charges for packaging and unloading these items that never made it. Awful to no communication the whole way and when we could get in touch with anyone they were so rude and not understanding. Impossible to get in touch with a manager and never returned our calls. They accidentally charged the card 5 days early before we even knew where our belongings were and couldnt reverse the charge. Charged full price for a move that took over 3 weeks with items that were both lost and damaged. Bad business demonstrated all around. Find another company!

Yes, another unhappy customer. Due to lack of preparation and expertise various pieces of furniture was badly damaged. Furniture was dropped numerous times and badly damaged. There was no proper inventory of the items moved. The owner attempts to muscle you instead of accepting responsibility for unacceptable work by the staff. A Temper-pedic mattress was damaged beyond repair due to the staffs inability to have the proper size storage box for the mattress. They attempted to muscle the mattress into the boxes causing the threads to strip from the mattress. I personally witnesses the king headboard dropped twice during the reassembly. A Ethan Allen dinning table had a 10 inch piece of wood knocked off of the round table portion. If you value your property run to someone else. Do not use or trust this mover.

Sorry that I fell for a classic moving scam!The owner of the company cam to my home to do an estimate and was a great salesman. We walked through the entire home to do the estimate of costs and he came in at a much lower price than other companies. After looking over all estimates, we signed with Suncoast, and packed and shipped our entire household. I noticed things were a bit funky when I ended up having to help pack because the packers were having trouble packing in a reasonable amount of time, but I thought if I helped then I would save some money.NOT the case, after my items were loaded and trucked off I received a phone call from the Suncoast office stating that I owed $2000 more than the original $6000 quote, and they couldnt even tell me when my household would be delivered.It took four days to get Frank on the phone, who persisted to scream at me for about 10 minutes, then side step every which way to call me a lair and state that I had snuck items on the truck to make it overweight.Still dont know when my household is being delivered, and now have to get a lawyer. So far not so good.Beware, dont get fooled like I did.

I find it hard to believe that Suncoast is a moving company. I tried on two occasions to get an estimate for our move. The first time Frank arrived 10 minutes early to the appointment. When I ask for 5 minutes to get my kids out of the house he refused and left in spite of my pleas to stay. I reluctantly called and rescheduled. The second appointment was set for the first thing in the morning. I waited through the scheduled time and then received a call saying he couldnt make it. Very unprofessional of Frank. My move will cost upwards of $20,000 dollars and Im happy to spend it elsewhere. Avoid this company.

After being friends with Frank Dethlefsen (owner of Suncoast ) for almost 10 years I hired his Suncoast moving and storage Inc. to move a very expensive bedroom set. They showed up with no dolly, tools or hand truck and complained the they wish they knew they would need one.... ?They dropped two or the three pieces of a $10,000 bedroom set on the concrete from waist height. When I called Frank to explain the damage, he said just pay in full and I will take care of repairs. Being what I considered a good friend I did this against my better judgment. Its been three months. After many calls i was just told I have to pay more. The agreed price was $300. I paid $400. Frank needs more..... Sad. We will have to go to court over what will most likely be less then a thousand dollars.I still cant believe Frank didnt show up in person, apoligize for the incompetence and man up.Imagine how you will be treated if you are NOT a friend of over 10 years.

This was the worst move of our lives. They showed up with too small of a truck. It took 11 hours to move out of a two bedroom condo. I have broken furniture and I found out my things were left in a truck outside for the 3 month storage that we paid $3800. We are in dispute with Atlas. We moved on Dec. 19, and it is April 25 and still nothing is settled. Customer service is terrible. They lied to me several times, Frank is a great salesman, don’t be fooled! His company sun-coast don’t return phone calls and they lie as to what is happening with your things. I was told to give them 2-3 weeks to get our furniture out of storage to be delivered. I gave them 4 weeks and we still received our items 1 week late. They broke a headboard and a desk that can’t even be repaired. They damaged dinning room table, and 4 designer chairs, bar, dresser, and mirror top, lazyboy chair and loveseat. How does this happen? They have no response.

We used Sucoast 21/2 years ago and were pleased with the service & move. When we needed to move again we chose them again. This time, results were not so good and response to our concerns poor at best. This move required us to store our furnishing for one month. We ended up with scratched furniture, broken flat screen television. we filed a complaint. when we followed up with the status of the complaint, we were treated rudely. Never told how long the process would take. We finally settled for $500. which replaced the television but did not repair our furniture. I would never use this company again or recommend them.

Horrible experience with this company. I am a disabled veteran who lives in a high-rise here in the Fort Myers area. Association rules only allows deliveries from 9am – 5pm. First issue was that they brought the wrong crate so they had to go back to retrieve the correct one. Afterwards there were many other issues. I noticed one of the younger delivery guys constantly verbally abusing one of the older deliveries guys which I found very disrespectful. 5pm came along and the association started calling me to inform me that the delivery truck must depart from the condominium property. As soon as I informed the delivery guys of the situation and asked them to continue up the following day, I was immediately asked to signed the receipt of my household goods. Keep in mind that my bed was not even completely built and there were many other unopened boxes which have yet to be inspected for damages. As soon as I stated that I would sign the receipt of my goods the following day upon completion, the younger disrespectful delivery guy started cursing in my home in front of my wife and child. His comments to me were “I don’t give a f!@k if you sign or not, I am still going to get paid”. I instructed him to get out of my home and to leave my paperwork with me and he stated “you do not want to sign this s!@t so I am not going to give it to you”. I again instructed him to immediately leave my home which he did. The other two members were extremely embarrassed and apologized on his behalf. To make a long story short, I reported this issue to the manager at Suncoast Moving and Storage and immediately noticed an attitude from the manager himself. The boxes were left in my home unopened and due to my disability, I had to pay a local handyman to finish building both my bed and my baby’s crib. Keep in mind that the Department of Defense pays companies like this to break-down, pack, store, deliver, unpack reassemble us military members household goods. I am certain this company is doing its best to charge the Department of Defense extra for work that they should be doing anyway. An official complaint letter was sent to the Department of the Army and I highly recommend anyone thinking about using this company to think twice. The movers are rouge and I am most certain it is due to lack of professional management. On another note, I am certain that most negative reviews come with rebuttals from the owners or management. If rebutted, I suggest EVERYONE simply take a look at their current ratings. They speak for themselves. A professional organization or person would accept their faults and try their best to improve at all cost. A toxic one will always come up with excuses, be defensive and try to make the victims seem dishonest. A few negative ratings can be overlooked. Many negative ratings should be taken seriously. EVERYONE CANNOT BE WRONG! AVOID AT ALL COST!

I have moved many times in my life, but this one was the worst. We were planning on moving from Ft. Myers, Fl to Pinehurst, NC and had two companies out for estimates. 1. Suncoast Moving & Storage and 2. Allied. We decided to go with Suncoast Moving because they came in slightly lower for storage costs. As we did not know how long the storage was needed (we had to look for a new residence), we thought to be better off with Suncoast. Another advantage Mr. Frank Dethlefsen, the head of the company, said that we could get free insurance because we are AAA members. So all nice perks. He even said, when I asked him about wardrobes, I throw a couple in there. We received the quote from them for 8307 lbs. for an amount of $ 7,795.48. This included the first 30 days of storage. We knew the final bill would be higher, an estimated $600 per month for storage.Well, we had everything packed on April 27. April 30, everything was loaded on the truck and put in storage on April 30. An initial payment was made by me in the amount of $ 4,335.76 in May for the items they packed (I myself packed all items, except for big art work as well as the TV and furniture). Early July I called Suncoast that we found a place and that we liked to have the move delivered on July 23. Ultimately it got delivered on July 24 because they had a load for Wake Forest, NC that needed to be delivered first.On the day of the move, while the guys were unloading the truck, I got a call from Suncoast to charge the remainder of $9,342.06 on my credit card. This gave a total of $13,676.82. I could not believe this. I asked how this could be. They claimed we were way over the weight estimate of 8307 lbs that Frank made and it was now 11,940 lbs. They claimed we took extra stuff, which we did not. The Allied quote can attest to that because they had a weight based estimate for 10.413 lbs. At my request they sent an explanatory bill by email that day because I refused to pay the $9,342.06. In it we saw the following and discussed this also with several people we had on the phone from Suncoast that day:1. the overweight - which we contest based on the estimate of another mover2. use of two shuttles of $ 1,208.00 because they claimed the regular van could not come to our house. This was NOT made known to us until we received this bill, and it was not true. We have seen other large trucks come to our neighborhood. They used three shuttles because they had three different jobs, one in Wake Forest, one in Pinehurst (us) and one in Asheville, as the guys on the truck told us.3. SEVEN wardrobes at $53.06 a piece. Guess what: we only got 4 from Suncoast, and 1 I purchased myself at Home Depot And where were the wardrobes that Frank allegedly would throw in (read: gratis)4. Packing all of a sudden went from an estimate of $759.02 to $ 1,421.79 and additional charges to pack the Flat Screen TV for $207.87 and unpack it for $ 15.19. These items were not itemized on the original estimate and were totally new to us.During the day of the move, the guys were told to leave the remainder of the stuff in the truck until we paid. We finally got to talk to a lady who gave us some credit of $731 because she probably felt we were treated unfairly. Last but not least we got to talk to Frank who got so upset and started screaming and yelling at us that we took more stuff than we told him (not true) and that he would take us to fraud court if we would not pay. I thought he was going to get a heart attack. Where was that nice gentleman that first came to my doorstep? We decided to go ahead and pay ($ 8,611.93) to prevent Frank from getting a heart attack .Ultimately I should have gone with Allied because they gave me a binding price. Suncoast tricks its customers by estimating lower weights so they come in with lower non-binding estimates. They get you on the day of the move. Besides, we had may items damaged that were packed by them. DONT BE FOOLED. They are crooks.

Terrible experience moving with this company. It takes advantage of their employees that come on Saturday exhausted and hit most of the walls in our home with boxes or furniture. When things got broken or needed to claim, they were extremely difficult. Will not recommend!

I contacted the Atlas 800# for a quote. They transferred me to their local agent in Fort Myers, FL. From the initial call to the scheduling of an appt, I cant say enough about such a great experience. My appt with Frank went off without a hitch. Very professional answered all my questions and concern. Very knowledgeable. Moving day came and they were on time, pleasant and professional. Knew there job. Delivery day came a d the same crew arrived and unloaded my itms, placed where requsted. Great, great experience. My move was from fort myers, go. to ocala, fl. I would definitely recommend this company

Had an absolutely horrible experience with Suncoast movers. Frank totally estimated my move wrong. Got the bait and switch move from them when the binding quote went to a non-binding quote-- The estimate was over $1000 off. There is no point to do an estimate if you are going to be that far off--- took them almost all day and night to get the move done. Used day-workers that we were just starting and took way longer than they thought and they wanted me to pay for it since they switched the bid---Then when they were moving into my house they caused damage that they are not willing to pay for it-- Unbelievable!--- PLEASE do not use them-- learn from my mistake---- would hate to see someone else taken like I was-- would give them zero stars if it would let me-- I tried

First they showed up two hours late. Next, none of the specialty boxes that were purchased as part of the plan made it to the house. And to top it off they put a 8 foot scratch in my hardwood flooring and are now denying the claim because they said that the scratches were already there. Even though the two movers had owned up to it, took pictures of it and apologized for it. I guarantee that any of the positive reviews on here are from members of the staff. Stay far away from this company!
