Good quality products, though a little bit over priced. Of course, you will get what you pay for usually. Huge variety of boat parts and gear, solid clothing sections of beach or boat wear, and a nice fishing section more suited to saltwater needs. Good amount of reels and baits but not too many rods to choose from.

Practically the only game in town for the serious boat owner who needs to do some work or some outfitting. If you have to buy bottom paint here or anything else, you probably want to do it through a contractor, as they get a serious discount. West Marine has always had really good equipment at really high prices. At least they do have the good equipment.

I have been trying to purchase items from WEST MARINE for a few years now. The majority of the time, the do NOT have stock. Always the same excuse, that they just sold out. Now, they are telling me to go online and order myself so that I dont have to pay for shipping. Why would I pay shipping for you to transfer items that you ran out of stock? If I have to go online and do this myself, I will purchase on Amazon or other sites that have better prices. I try and give my local stores business to help our economy, but WEST MARINE does NOT make this easy.

Yes, they usually have what I need for my boat, but their prices are anywhere from double to ten times higher than others charge. The store is clean and bright with lots of apparel and shoes. The staff are usually available and somewhat knowledgeable.

Awesome store. Super clean and organized. The real reason for 5 stars is the customer service. I cant think of any other store that has staff as helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced as here, they always have the right answers and have helped me numerous times with knowledge in working on my boat. Gary in the parts department is great, really knows his stuff. Some items are more pricey than other stores, but A. its worth it to get some personal expertise, and B. they price match pretty much anywhere, including Amazon.

I wish we had a West Marine like this in Atlanta. Huge selection of all things marine. The fishing dept and GPS dept (Luke) are reel pros, pun intended! Its a well run location, and a tempting destination to blow some money.

Tried to order electronics to up grade my boat, first they forgot to work up a quote, then after I went back to get the numbers they said they didnt have everything in stock and would get back to me the next day, there days later I gave up and ordered from another vendor.Unless you can find it on the shelf, have no need for help I would advise you go somewhere else, youll get more help on the internet than in this store.

I purchased a Rule Tournament Series 800 GPH livewell pump along with the 20% extra cost extended warranty. The pump went out within the warranty period. Today i went in to exchange the pump and the cashier, Catherine, refused to swap out the pump under the extended warranty so I had to purchase another pump. She said that i had to wait until the manufacturers warranty ran out for their warranty to kick in. When I purchased the pump with the 2 year extended warranty, I was told that I could swap the pump out HASSLE FREE from the date of purchase up to 2 years past the manufacturers warranty. I have never heard of that one before when purchasing an extended warranty at 1/5th the cost of the item. I have given them a lot of business. I purchased an ipilot from them last year and was planning on buying a 2nd 10ft Power Pole in the next few weeks from there. Needless to say I will be shopping at Bass Pro Shops from now on. Im sure Bass Pro will honor their extended warranty and not give me the run around.

My boyfriend and I went into the store looking for parts to repair his boat. The store is great, however, I am giving a one star review because of Jim at the parts counter. He seemed inconvenienced when he had to turn down the show he was watching on his computer to help us. When we asked simple questions about parts he gave attitude and it made us feel like he was talking down to us. Because of his lack of effot to help us, we had to return to the store three more times, unfortunately finding him there each time. He failed to look up the parts correctly in the system and put us in a game of trial and error which was extremely frustrating. We decided to trust another marine parts store to give us the correct parts and acceptable customer service.

My father has been coming here since they opened to buy his boating needs. Gary in parts is very knowledgeable and knows what hes talking about. Malcolm also knows everything you could ask about Garmin and Raymarine and if either of them arent sure on something they take the time to research it and find the best option thats suitable for you. Terry the store manager is very patient and has a well rounded expertise with just about everything in the store. Good atmosphere, will continue shopping at this West Marine.

Walked in to store at 230pm and a half hour later I left very mad. Not the service I have received in the past. Three customers in store and I was one of them. Five employees that I could see and none offered to help. After following two of the employees around and waiting till they got done talking about fishing with a person that came into the store after me. I stopped one of the fellows and asked if he could help me. He said no but the other fellow that was with him could and I waited. I then went to the cashier and asked him to help and he said he could not. I then went back to the other fellow and he said he could help. I got what I wanted and went to the cashier who was calling someone the radio to get a customer help. I asked why he did not do that for me and he said everyone was busy and if I had a problem I should take it up with them.

We have a Port Supply account for over ten years, we have Charter boats as well private boat. This time last year in Stuart they looked my receipt up for a ice maker to exchange and the lady said we had already spent 70,000 dollars. Tonight I didnt have my card on me and had a buggy over filled at least 1,000 dollars. It was 7 minutes before closing and the guy at the register wouldnt even look my account up! I also was returning 4 lights. He didnt wont to be delayed getting out of there. So I walk rite out and will not be back! I know they wouldnt tolerate that kind of service back home in Orange Beach. They must be desperate for help?

I have always received excellent, courteous service. Only once did I encounter a salesman I considered rude. But I was immediately helped by another that was overly helpful and friendly. I like shopping at West Marine.
