What an iconic place! Been there since I was just a little kid I arrived 40 years ago. And it was there so its been there ever since Ive been on the beach sad to see it go... But a lot of memories good memory shared their! Was glad to be part of it today goodbye good luck Scotty and the rest of your family on your next endeavor! Or your retirement well deserved by the way!...

Nice place on the beach to sit at & have some drinks.... its so sad that theyre going to demo this place which has been a local joint to build a commercialized Margaretiville Hotel/Restaurant....

Love the Mermaid. Fast, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good crowd of older and younger. Bring a good attitude and youll have fun.

Cool lounge for older folks. Liquor store is tiny and a bit overpriced but it works.

Very fun place. To bad it along with many others have been bought up by margaritaville who is putting up a large resort. Glad we were able to visit. Sad to see local small businesses close. Great atmosphere will be missed

Small but clean. Right on the main strip. Add it to your bar hop. And walk to all the bars and restaurants in less than five minutes. Worth a visit.

Everything was fine, except the security guard who called himself the manager told us to leave at 10:45 pm. He said is was 11 pm they were closing... We had to finish our drink outside. We would have finished it inside before 11. Thats all he would have to say. Our clocks werent in tune. BS

Excellent dive bar. The drinks are priced right in an area that’s otherwise highly overpriced. The servers are excellent and do not under poor.The establishment is accommodating to smokers, but they offer an outside area for those who prefer fresh air or you can sit by a window. Great place to meet with friends and not break the bank.

This is a local dive-bar with good prices, stiff drinks and plenty of out-going locals. We enjoyed a couple of hours here and got some good recommendations for dinner. Five stars for being an excellent example of the genre. This location will be closed at some point but the locals are taking advantage of it for as long as possible.

If you want a really laid back place to have well priced drinks with great bartenders, then this is the place for you!

Great place to go to if your from out of town. I came on vacation by myself and it was kind of quiet around the beach, but when I stumbled upon the mermaid I had a good time. I met really cool people here and the people that work here were very helpful and good at their job. I heard they might be closing in November if that is true I will greatly miss this place.

Greatest dive bar in Florida! Dollar bloody Mary’s Sunday until noon! The staff is what makes this place such an icon! Gonna be sad when its gone but they do have a new location up and running.....Better take the staff if you want it to be as good

Its a fun local spot. Not the best if your on vacation. Mostly colorful locals. Stop in and get some local action.

Had a lot of fun there. Pretty cool you can have a beer on one side and play some scratchy lottery on the other.

Great place, great staff. Owners and management are professional as well as kind and seem to care about thier patrons on more then a money level. I returned after a self imposed hiatus and was welcomed with the same congeniality that has always been there. A special shout out to Melissa for being understanding and thank you to Valerie for that also. And to Francesca for being the utmost a bartender can be... Fun and on the ball!!! Thank you guys... Looking forward to coming back.

Definitely not a 5 star bar, but it gets five stars from me. Its a biker bar, more or less, filled with some of the nicest people. The staff is excellent and the prices are great

Great place to stop for a drink and to pick up a bottle of liquor to take home. We stopped to buy a bottle of gray goose and ended up having a blast with a few locals.

Love that you can smoke inside. Its a great place to watch the sunset! Like the old school feel that you can still smoke inside!

Just stopped at the Infamous Mermaid. Walked in sat at a table, walked to the bar, waited at the bar for 10 minutes while the bartender intentionally ignored me. Went back to the table and took my friends over to the Cottage, where we were immediately greeted with smiles great music and endless drinks.

A bar inside a liquor store, what a great concept. Definitely a locals place. Super friendly. We loved it!

I try to find a hole in the wall each place I visit, and this was definitely it. Very fun, down to Earth place that stole my heart! Never dismiss the hole in the wall until you try it!

Poor service! I waited 10 minutes at the bar to order a drink yesterday. There was about 7 at the bar about 5 at a table. The female bartender even came up to my side of the bar and looked at me while preparing a drink. She never asked me what I would like. I decided to walk out after the table ordered another round and immediately began preparing their drinks while ignoring me once again,. Will never walk in that bar again. Btw...I did have a shirt, shorts and shoes on!!
