They couldnt get to my vehicle in a timely manner and they could not help me in any way to get a rental even though my vehicle is under GM warranty. They wouldnt even keep me on the service list after I had to pick my car up because I had no vehicle to drive.

Let me tell you! Jack the sales man went above and beyond for my experience! Met all my wants and needs for the perfect truck I was wanting. Plus made it work for my budget. I’ve been to brad deery and their is nothing but horror stories and my horrible experience with them. I’m extremely happy with my experience and my Chevy Silverado. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I was told it would be $375.00 to replace sensor that had gone bad causing the problem of freon leaking resulting in no air conditioning. They ordered the sensor and installed. I was then informed the compressor clutch had gone bad and they would need to replace the compressor which would then bring the cost to repair to $1,463.63. I could not afford that at this time so told them to not replace compressor. I feel the problem was misdiagnosed originally. They should have been able to detect the defective compressor before I paid $539.99 to replace sensor which in turn did not solve the problem. Had they diagnosed the bad compressor to begin with, I would not have paid $539.99 to replace a sensor that did absolutely no good. I am out this money and still have no air conditioning. Will not do business with Shottenkirk again. I feel we should not have been charged, or at the very least, reduced charge since they misdiagnosed the problem to begin with. Thats a lot of money to a senior citizen on a fixed income and to not have the problem resolved in the end. My next stop is a Ford dealer!

The team here at Shottenkirk Ft. Madison is absolutely world class. Both my Sales Associate Keith and Sales Manager Adam had clear and open communication with me regarding any questions I had as well as the steps throughout the entire process. In addition, the Finance Manager Chris was got me a lower rate than my bank had with lower payments than they had quoted. Since I was purchasing from out of state, there were some logistics that I needed assistance with and Keith, Adam and Chris were happy to assist in any way they could.I had looked a multiple other vehicles before finding the one I ultimately purchased from Shottenkirk Ft. Madison but I can truly say the overall interaction was what led me to proceed with purchasing from them. If youre planning to purchase or lease any vehicle, you would be remiss if you didnt reach out to the fine folks at Shottenkirk Ft. Madison. Shottenkirk Fort Madison was a very pleasant experience. Everybody was very kind and worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and that we got the car we wanted. My wife and I are pretty indecisive people and they waited patiently while we worked throughout the day to figure out what would work best. Felt no pressure to buy and drove many vehicles.

I bought a new Truck on the 5th .. i was told at the time that the Truck was suppose to be delivered on the 11th .. the 11 came and went .. i called and ask when it was expected to be in ...they said should be in any day ... so i waited 2 weeks and no call from the dealer about the truck...so i went to GMC.com and talked to the chat service and was told truck was still sitting in storage with no eta on when it will be shipped . so i decided to just wait...the end of the month came so i decided to call around the 30 .. first time i called ... sales person was off.. and no one in the sales area would pick up... so i waited till the next night and they took a message and called me back and told me that my Truck was in Delayed status...at the end .. they offered me another truck which was similar,, but not the real color of my choosing ... so after Waiting 40 days after i actual singed the papers i got, a new truck...wasnt my first, 2nd or 3rd choice .. but i do like it... in the end.. i dont really blame the dealership.. they could of been more communicative with me about the Truck ... but i do understand the situation as it is in our country and the chip shortage and such... but i would think that there would be a more accurate listing BY GM on which Trucks are actually ready to be sold...i am a GM die hard fan... i am just a bit disappointed by this ...i still love My Truck though ..

I had a part blow out of my purchased car. According to my local mechanic, as Im not from Ft. Madison, I had mismatched tires on my car, tires I had gotten off the lot. Since I was beyond my 3 month warranty, there was no help from the dealership. This turned into a $2,000 fix because of their incompetency.

Couldnt be happier with the purchase of our 2017 Nissan Titan. Highly recommend Shottenkirk and Mike Wilson! For the first time I went alone to do the trade, and he was extremely respectful, patient, and professional to deal with! I was told when we bought the extended warranty that we could use it anywhere that had an approved technician. I took it to Vaughn automotive and was later called and told that it needed to come to your shop. That was fine since you transported it but its a lot of miles and time.

We worked with Kurt in the Service Department after experiencing issues with the transmission slipping on our truck. Other dealerships had suggested that “it’s just how those transmissions shift” but we knew this wasn’t the case. Kurt was able to locate the issue and the transmission ended up being replaced. He brought us a rental vehicle and was in touch every step of the way. We’ll definitely use Shottenkirk FM again!

We bought a 2016 GMC Sierra and the lock on the back door on the drivers side didn’t engage. We called the dealership and they said to brink it in so they could diagnose it and charged us $100 for it which okay fine we’ll then they said we needed a part and that would fix it well when all was said and done the total would be $400 and some but we literally just but it but they said since we didn’t buy that particular warranty then we had to pay. Do we had to pay for an issue that should have been fixed before we bought the car. I was very disappointed with the customer service and the fact that they don’t back up their cars. Definitely won’t be buying from them again.

I found the truck I wanted at Shottenkirk with help from GMs vehicle locator service and was willing to make the 3 hour drive from St. Louis, MO to Fort Madison, IA to make the purchase. I dealt with several Shottenkirk employees throughout the process and all were very helpful and responsive. They offered me a favorable price on my trade-in based upon some photos I sent them and did not renig on that price when I arrived at the dealership, always a concern on an out-of-town auto purchase. All in all I could not asked for a better buying experience.

Ive been to a few dealership service centers. Ive never really had a very good experience with them. Shottenkirk is different. Both of the service reps I dealt with were fantastic. Explained to me the service that is recommended and then let me choose. The service to my truck was performed quickly and then anything that was found was explained to me clearly. They took really good care of me. The folks that were in the waiting room with me seemed pretty pleased with the service they received as well.

In desperate need of a key to a u-haul after misplacing the original they were friendly, understanding, cooperative, and affordable. (By hundred(s) to have one made). Unfortunately it did not start the truck only opened the doors and they would not refund our money. I would not recommend going here looking to buy or get your car worked on. Long story short It’s now been over a month since buying my 2016 Kia Sorento and I just got to pick it up from service today.. The first day after buying it, I noticed a ticking noise and the oil was low so I had them check it out and it turns out there is a recall on the motors for that year and model of Kia. Huge disappointment but Shottenkirk said they would replace it at no cost to me which I was thankful. It had to be sent to another shop to be worked on and by the time it was returned the first time it had the same motor and was still ticking loudly. I went straight to the front to speak to the general manager (Jaime) and explain our situation to hopefully be put in another vehicle because my boyfriend and I just weren’t feeling confident about any of it at this point.. he apologized and explained it was a miscommunication with the service dept and that he would make sure I got the new motor put in and I would have a rental to drive in the meantime. That’s still not what we wanted.. We asked to be put in another car because we got to drive ours once before learning it needed a new motor. Then to come pick it up and it still need fixed was just another red flag. Before the GM came to talk with us we had already been talking to a sales associate about getting into a different car, and that it would be no problem. Once we told Jaime that’s what we wanted to do he instantly got defensive and told us “he didn’t have to help us, we’ve already bought the car and you don’t have any other options.” Once we mentioned getting legal help and going else where he said “Then why should I help you? You’re no good to me if you go somewhere else anyways.” He treated my boyfriend and I with complete disrespect when I thought talking with him would make the situation better, it just made it so much worse. I still can’t believe his lack of customer service skills. We went a little above our price range to avoid these problems and the whole thing has just been disheartening. We felt very pushed around and takin advantage of from the start, especially being in our twenties and it being our first time purchasing a car. Now when I dropped the car off it had close to a full tank of gas, now I’m getting it back on E which is also SUPER of them.. But the car does have a new motor and made it back home okay.. to say what will happen next is a surprise but I do know I won’t be taking it back to Shottenkirk for anything anytime soon. (Another thing I’ve learned is it doesn’t help if you know someone. You will get pushed over one way or another no matter what so might as well be pushed by somebody you don’t know.)

I recently bought a battery to be put in and I asked for a specific battery, which was originally put in my vehicle when it was built. They put in a different battery that does not even match my CCA requirements and claimed they thought it was a better option. Obviously the original equipment would have been the better option in my opinion. They deserve zero stars.

They said they would take care of me and take this vehicle back this was over a month ago they said too keep driving the vehicle and they would take care of me. I didnt even have the vehicle a month before I told them they lied about it. I will change this if they take care of me.

My wife took our 2015 GMC Acadia in for a replacement of a defective smog device that was a no-charge visit. She was taken care of immediately and even greeted by the service manager who wed just recently had a sit-down with, where we explained in great detail our dissatisfaction with their service. This, after having been a car buyer and user of their service department for many years. Lots of reasons we left and went elsewhere, but my wife was taken care of well on this recent visit, and for that reason we have added 2 stars to our current feeling about doing business with them, from a 0 stars prior to this. Perhaps theres hope!
