Called to get a quote for an engine diagnostic and I couldn’t speak on the phone due to a extremely loud sound, the sound was so loud that I couldn’t concentrate on what I was saying, asked if I could call again the reply: Just move your phone away from your ear, I can listen to you. Well and what about me as a potential customer that didn’t feel comfortable with that extremely loud sound? It’s all good, it was just a manner of saying: I apologized for the sound because I’m in a middle of something but give me your number a I call you ASAP. I did my best to try to explain my engine situation and I was asked to text my contact, info and the issues I was having. Done that and it’s been 24hrs so far I haven’t heard back. Yesterday by the end of the day I had reached to other company and oh boy, what a difference. The other company was very helpful and already scheduled the technician to come and see the boat. My advice, shop around.Update: Just received a phone call from somebody trying to explaining that they are not a customer service company, only a repair shop... This is not a review for their services, this is a review for their customer service. If you leave a bad review, they are going to call you and try to manipulate you to change your review, be aware.

We recently moved from California to Florida, sold our boat there and bought new boat here. After spending weeks searching for a mechanic we are thrilled that we found Marc with Taylor Marine Techs. He came to our house to diagnose and service our boat on short notice. Marc is fast and reliable. He was honest about what was wrong and gave a fair price for the repair.

Mark is a very knowledgable boat mechanic and is looking out for his customers. He came to my house yesterday since my boat is on the water and diagnosed and fixed everything within an hour. I have worked with 2 other boat mechanics in Fort Lauderdale and felt taken advantage of both times. Not the case with Mark and Taylor Marine Techs. I can sleep easy knowing I know have a go to mechanic I can trust.

I brought my boat to them for floor replacement, and was told it would cost about $1500 Depending on the condition of the stringers. I had asked that they Provide me an accurate proposal once they opened up the floors and inspected. One side was fine and didnt even need new plywood, so it was never repaired by taylor marine. and the other needed stringers. I repeatedly asked for a proposal. I never received one, they just continued to do the work. I think they did a good job replacing the stringers and floor but there were other issues that put them in the ranks of all the other Poor customer service providers in Miami.I told them to repaint the bilge area with matching grey Epoxy paint. They put black car undercoating on it instead. I told them to take the Engine hatch off and keep it clean and free from damage. they didnt, and returned my boat with bent hinges and the hinge screws bent. then tried to tell me that They were like that. The got Fiberglass resin on my vinyl sun pad, They tried to sell me some low quality carpet for $125 - I provided a much better carpet ( only cost me $40, then they refused to take the carpet charge off the bill. Then the charged me 2174! NOT 1500. when I told them to fix the hatch, they gave me the runaround and told me they would have to leave my boat outside the warehouse, where it can and will get stolen /vandalized, but promised to fix my hatch within one week. its been two weeks and no response from them as to when they will fix it. DONT Trust these guys. Mark Taylor will sell you a load of BS !

Wow what a service. They came to my home after hours, fixed the problem as soon as they got there and went on to adjust the carburetor, Fix the old gas pump, check the compression and made my engine run so much better than it ever ran before. After that they gave me pointers on how to keep it running like a top. I cant believe how thorough they are. Hands down the best marine techs I have ever used. I called them and the same day they where at my home and got me on the water the next morning. I will be using them for all my boating needs. Thanks to the expert who took such good care of me.
