Wow!! We had such a great experience!!! Last Tuesday we went up to ski at Snowy and it got shut down early because of high winds! So when we returned the equipment early, they gave us rain check for our family. Well we went today and got the ski equipment!!! So awesome!! Thanks guys for taking care of us and making a family ski trip memorable!!

Word of caution: fear-mongering. With little explanation, except a reference to the industry indemnification list, I was told the two pairs of skis I took in were unsafe and dangerous, and I should be nervous to blow out a knee. That we should definitely rent. The resort ski shop adjusted the same skis without hesitation, free of charge, and we skied the entire day without injury or fall.

Specializing in quality. I bought my favorite jacket at Outpost Sunsport from Gavin in the mid-nineties, when it was down by Laurel and College Ave. I’m wearing it now; this thing is bulletproof.Quality Five Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was really disappointed and surprised by the terrible customer service I received when my daughter and I went in to be fitted for and pick up season rentals. The rental department staff seemed completely uninterested and bored by having to help us, and one actually walked off with no explanation in the middle of assisting us to help someone else. I made an appointment online, as they requested, and I was greeted by a helpful woman (who seemed to not work in the rental department). However, after I filled out the paperwork, I stood for a long time waiting for a rental department associate to notice, let alone help, us - even though there were no other customers and there were at least three guys standing behind the counter doing what appeared to be nothing, one of whom definitely knew I was there because the woman had checked with him to make sure they had enough seasonal rentals left and he looked up and saw me at that point. When one of them was walking away, he decided to ask me if I had been helped, which I obviously had not been because I was still holding all my paperwork. He measured our feet, and I explained to him that I really needed help finding as wide of boots as possible due to very significant problems with my wide feet going numb. However, before he could even get me a pair of boots to try on, a young woman walked up wanting to size her feet (she was very clear that she was not going to spend any money), and without a single word of explanation, without saying he would be right back, NOTHING, he walked off to help her. Eventually, another guy came to help us, and though he didnt ever abandon us, he seemed equally bored and uninterested - I explained my need for wide boots to him, too, but he offered no suggestions or guidance on that problem. I plan to buy boots and skis for myself for next season - and will need assistance in finding and perhaps customizing boots to fit my feet - but I will definitely not be coming to Outpost for that because I am not at all confident that they would be enthusiastic about my business or offer the level of assistance and guidance I would want and need.

I recently rented skis, boots, and a helmet here. I am a brand new skiier and everyone was really really helpful and friendly. Rentals were a good deal, as well. I recommend this place for new skiiers/snowboarders (and experienced pros, too).

Im guessing the guy was just having a bad day, but yesterday I had a pretty bad experience at Outpost Sunsport. What Im guessing was the manager has been very rude to me since the first moment I walked in the shop to ask for ski waxing and sharpening. Gave me an attitude the entire time I was in the shop, telling me I have to get the most expensive service plus a 10 dollar fee if I want the job done at their place, reaching then the epitome of ridiculousness when he decides to interrupt the conversation I was having with another employee just to remind him that I was not to pay the normal price because he said so (His words). Needless to say I walked out of the shop shocked by what just happened and got the job done somewhere else.

Yesterday my girlfriend and I stopped by Outpost Sunsport and re-upped on our ski and snowboard gear. We were both impressed with how easy the selections were to make amongst all the options and how well everything fit. Especially for myself, it turns out my right foot might as well be sideways because its so wide but the tools you had made the new boots fit great. Trevor, Will, and Andrea were all extremely helpful - it was a great experience and we’ll be happy to come back and recommend to our friends.

Wonderful shopping experience. Eli was very helpful & knowledgeable about their outdoor furniture. No high pressure sales. She allowed us to look, but would check to see if we had any questions. We went to several other places in town & to Denver to look & returned days later to Outpost. Eli recognized us & let us continue our search. We bought a beautiful patio set & they were able to deliver within 1 hr of purchasing. We loved our set so much, we called the next day to purchase another piece. Eli was very prompt at returning our call. The furniture is top quality & will last many years. Most importantly, we returned due to excellent customer service & a locally owned store. Thank you!

I brought my board in last week & got the platinum tune. The guys in the shop did an incredible job and my board rode like a dream over the weekend. They were able to fix a split in the front of my board from last season and I was really impressed. Everyone was really nice and helped me figure out what my board needed done. Thanks guys!

Be careful with your purchase at Outpost Sunsport has a ALL SALES FINAL policy. The second they swipe your card you own it. Sure I get it you are local store but leaves bad taste with locals and make me want to be exclusive with cyber where you have a freedom of a return.

Personnel where very rude when dealing with returns. I had some of the equipment I rented break on the first day of our trip, the trip was 3 days and I had to rent from somewhere else. Personnel blamed me (a beginner at best) as the reason the equipment broke. When I asked for a refund they said no and actually said they didn’t want my business anymore. Won’t return here again. Truly hurt one of my first experiences in the sport.

I got a great pair of ski boots fitted better than any Ive had before here almost 2 years ago. The business is committed to having you enjoy riding on the snow, and theyre very accommodating if something goes wrong. Their shop work on skis is great as well. Highly recommended if you live in Fort Collins area.

I came in tonight to buy my first pair of ski boots. We came in an hour before close unknowningly and stood around staring at the wall of boots for about 10 minutes as the only employee around helped another couple. We tried not to bother or rush the guy working but knew we were crunched for time and went ahead and tried to size our own feet. The employee- we never got his name, but was bald in a plaid shirt- was appalled and told us we could wait 20 minutes. He was exceptionally rude to us, almost running us down in his roller chair as if we were in his way, and literally LAUGHING AT ME when I didn’t know what a technical binding was. He was horribly unprofessional and made me want to leave immediately. Thankfully he proceeded to call another employee to help us. Jared, who I think belonged to a different department, helped us out with such patience. He was so chill and helpful as we tried on a ton of boots. Brooklyn who checked me out was SO sweet as well and tried to help us out even though she was from a different department. By the time the rude employee was done with his customer, there was 10 minutes left before they closed. He was absolutely horrible and if being an “instructor for that long” teaches you anything, it should be how to communicate with other humans. Thanks Jared and Brooklyn for saving that poor experience in what is normally a great store.

Was just in for a ski boot fitting because I have very unusually high arch that has given me lots of trouble & kept me from being able to ski for long at all with my family without pain & numbness from the boots. Jackson was extremely patient & worked with us for 3 hours trying lots of different things to finally get something that will work for my crazy feet. We never felt like he was getting frustrated but just kept listening & gave my feet time to react to each new attempt. We were very grateful for his knowledge & experience & thoroughness. It was a great experience & I’m looking forward for being able to ski with my family! Thanks Jackson!

My daughter rented backcountry ski equipment for a long weekend. She went to the store to get the right equipment. She came home with mixed feelings about the experience. She felt pressured to get out quickly and didn’t feel the shop attendant was paying much attention during the process. She tried two pairs of identical boots. One didn’t fit. The other one was ok. Fast forward a couple of days. We are in the mountains several hours away from Fort Collins. We are getting ready to hit the snow. Surprise, she can’t get into the boots. We spent 30 min trying different socks and helping her as best we could. There was no way she could get in. Not even close. So here we are in the mountains with nothing else planned than backcountry skiing and one member of our party with no equipment. So, we packed up the next day and came back to Fort Collins a couple of days ahead of schedule. When I reported the issue the guys attending the shop, they blamed us for the incident. They talked to me like we were a bunch of morons who couldn’t be trusted to select the right size of boots. They didn’t take any responsibility for what happened, offer any semblance of apology, let alone offer a refund or a discount. I don’t know what happened because I was not there when the skis were picked up. It’s possible that she was given the wrong pair of boots. Or it’s possible that the one that she thought fitted her were actually too small. One way or another I think it’s the responsibility of the person checking the equipment out to ensure it fits. They clearly failed by renting equipment that proved useless. Not only did we spend $250 with the store and didn’t get any value for the money but we also wasted money in unused accommodation fees. The complete denial of the staff checking the equipment in was the climax of a weekend ruined because of the negligence of the staff.Update: Talked to Randy who went out of his way to correct the situation.

I was at Outpost Sunsport yesterday to purchase ski boots, skies and a few other accessories. There was a great selection and I was very happy with my purchase, however, I want to give Bill at shout out, Thank you Bill! He provided me with a ton of background and knowledge about what I needed to look for in boots and skies while making me feel comfortable and confident with my purchase. They come highly recommended in my book!

My husband and I are super new to the whole snowboarding thing. We went to Outpost and needed some bindings and some last minute things before our trip up the mountain. Jackson helped us and was fantastic! He was super patient and helped us get the appropriate gear as well as getting all of the correct servicing on the boards. I highly recommend Outpost, they are awesome!

I have been a customer of Outpost for years, season rentals for my kids etc. This past weekend I went in to have some boots refitted. I am a first time ski instructor and was experiencing a lot of problems with my old boots. Michael got the task of helping me out. He was fantastic. I am very pleased with the boots he put me in and the amazing fit. He helped me with custom fitted footbeds, and inner shell fitting. I skied on the new boots over the past weekend and they were great, I also worked one day and they were comfortable even spending the entire day walking up and down the magic carpet with my students. Thanks Micheal for saving me! I will continue to recommend Outpost to all my Snowsport friends.

Because I dont get to go skiing very often, I rent my equipment here whenever I do get to go. The staff is very helpful with fitting the equipment and answering questions about how to adjust it throughout the day. If youre also renting equipment, be sure to look for a coupon because they usually have at least one available.

I recently bought a pair of ski boots here. The salesperson that helped me was Bill. He was very knowledgeable of the downhill ski equipment and provided useful information about skiing and the area in general (its been many years since Ive been on skis). The store is well organized, plenty of parking (in the Sams Club / Kohls shopping center), and includes a rental shop.

Great selection here, but wow the sales guy was rude! I was trying on snowboard boots, and he said well at your skill level, those wouldnt be good for you. Excuse me, did you even bother to ask me my experience or skill level? He was so condescending the entire time.

Bobby, who runs the repair and tuning shop, did a fantastic job on four pairs of telemarking / backcountry skis. A couple of them needed serious epoxy sealing of the tips, which had worn to expose the wood core. His work was meticulous. If you want you skis tuned or fixed, my experience says that Outpost Sunsport will do the job properly.

Over the past four years I have purchased a complete set of patio furniture, an amazing umbrella and various other patio pieces. The service has always been top notch and I appreciate the extra help with delivery and set up. I like shopping local and supporting business people who support our community.

Great customer service! Ive had all my ski and snowboard boot work done with them and eventually purchased a pair of boots from them. They do a great job of making sure you leave comfy and confident.

My boy rented a snowboard for the season from Outpost Sunsport, as a beginner. Snowboarding was not his sport. He fell, etc. He tried skiing and liked it. Outpost Sunsport refused to swap out skis for the snowboard, stating that they were out of season inventory. That is their right, but it is also my right to say that they have poor customer service.

The first time I came in, I suspected I may have to return an item, so I asked a staff member specifically about the return policy. Then, when I came into the store later to return the item based on the information she gave me, I was told I couldnt return it. When I tried to explain what I had been told and asked for some clarification, an older gentleman, who I believe is the owner, very rudely interjected from afar, well that was wrong. He offered no condolence or apology for the mistake on the part of his staff, as if it was my fault. This misinformation cost me money and I will not be returning to the store.

Outpost Sunsport is a reliable choice for decent ski tuning in Ft. Collins. So when we needed to rent skis for my wife’s second trip into the backcountry, we trusted their ski shop would do a decent job with a backcountry rental. As it turns out, Outpost does not stock backcountry ski gear for a large segment of the female backcountry ski renter population - intermediate skiers who are 5’2” and smaller. Rather than advise my wife to look elsewhere for backcountry skis that would fit, they assured her she would be fine on 164 cm Rossignol Soul Sevens with Marker Kingpin 13 bindings. When my wife questioned the size of the ski, she was told not to worry - the rocker would make it ski shorter. Her alpine skis are 156 cm and rockered, so an 8 cm increase, rockered or not, is a lot more ski. That type of change did not go unnoticed. For a small person still getting the hang of the backcountry, this was a lot of ski to lug up the hill, and too much ski to handle on the way down. For a backcountry rental experience where you’ll get appropriate advice and size-appropriate gear, head to Jax. They have women’s backcountry rentals in 158 cm.

I had heard a lot of good things about outpost sun sports. I had been looking for a snowboard for my husband so I called to see if they had a certain size board. A person named mark answered the phone and was very rude and rushed me off the phone. I will not buy a board from here due to the way he acted towards me. He basically just hung up. Customer service means a lot Very disappointed

I went in to find out what size skis i would be buying in a few weeks. There was nothing going on i was the only customer in the store with 3 employees and i was told that since i was not buying that they “didn’t want to waste any time on me”. Not a good experience

Fort Collins - rent your gear elsewhere.I rented a snowboard package at Outpost this season. The gear was in rough shape, and 2 runs in the boa strap broke. I went to the slopes rental shop and had to rent a new pair of boots and a locker to keep Outposts boots in - they mentioned that Outpost will most likely reimburse me for the cost.When returning the gear to Outpost, the owner, Randy, declined to reimburse me for having to rent another pair of boots and a locker, stating that:We dont reimburse for our gearWe dont know why it brokeWe dont know what condition it was inand finally - Its not broken - youre all set, thanksThis is really poor form for any rental company. Ill be sure post this again before next season, hope this helps you make a decision!

I have bought ski boots and skis here for many years and every time, the staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a new pair of boots from Ray the other day, and he was great at customizing the boot fit for my feet. They stand by their work too, so if I need any further adjustments, they always take care of me.
