Kilwins is by far the best ice cream/candy store in fort collins. Almost everything is made fresh in store and you can actually watch them making the fudge in the front window on a big slab. They always have fun little holiday candies and we always go here to stock up for easter and Christmas. The ice cream is the best in old town and is very creamy. The staff are always super helpful and friendly too. Just a great spot overall. I love the coconut haystacks in particular.
The ice-cream is excellent. Tonights experience should embarrass the owners. It rained and hailed (barely bigger than sleet) for about 30 minutes at 7:30. We had a guest from out of town and my daughter who just broke her elbow yesterday to Kilwins to get some ice-cream. We walked in just before 8:00. (They close in theory at 9:00) We were very obviously disturbing the two workers that were there. We were then told that they were closing early because of the weather. Seriously? Rain? One worker said they could help us, then proceeded to tell us we couldnt eat the ice cream there. So, my daughter who had a half cast on was supposed go eat in the rain? My senior guest was supposed to eat in the rain? Would it have caused any issues besides two people getting off early, to let us eat some ice-cream? I guess business is good enough to drive people off who come in when its raining. This is just pathetic customer service!
Kilwins is phenomenal! The chocolate and fudge aromas hit you as soon as you enter the little shop. We always B-line for the ice cream. Marshmallow Smores is my absolute favorite! It used to be only a seasonal flavor, thank goodness it seems to be a permanent fixture now! My fiance and I shared a 3-scoop bowl of Smores, Chocolate Cappuccino, and Fort Collins Mud to triple-down on flavor town ;P
Kilwins is such a good place to calm a sweet tooth. From the homemade ice cream to the home made chocolate treats, you really can get something for everyone here! Its especially cool to note that all chocolates are made in house as well.I got dark chocolate covered cherries and a dark chocolate peanut butter cup. They were everything I could ever want all the way down to the creamy peanut butter.
Best ice cream in Fort Collins. I’m not a big ice cream eater but every time I go downtown I gotta stop at Kilwins because it is just that good. Just because it’s a chain doesn’t mean it isn’t off the chain. Their turtle cheesecake is the best ice cream flavor that exists
Forgot how good fresh ice cream is. So delicious! And the chocolates...yummmm! I would frequent this shop if I lived in the area!
What a disappointment to see one of my favorite places take such a nose dive in quality. IF I can even find my go to items (lately they are constantly out of stock of almost everything) they look completely different than six months ago. The caramel apples have enormous bubbles, with chocolate dripped all over the stick. If you buy two of anything else from out of the case they are completely different shapes and sizes. I have always loved Kilwins but lately Im not sure what happened.
We stopped by on a Sunday evening and had some delicious ice cream as we strolled through Fort Collins. Good flavors and good service!
Wish they had gluten free cones like walrus, but the ice cream is way better here.
Such a great staff and amazing ice cream and fudge. I am excited to go back and try more selections of goodies.
Awesome cone and ice cream. Wanted their candy but restrained myself
A must go to for yummy chocolate. Sea Salt Carmel’s are amazing, but actually ALL is yummy. Amazing hot cocoa! Great service, always friendly.
WOW! No reason AT ALL to patronize thei establishment . I was in Old Town and had some time to kill so I thought I would support a small local business I hadnt visited in a while. I picked a couple of small boxes from the shelf, one toffee and one milk chocolate cashew turtles, $14.99 and $8.99 respectively. A bit pricey but ok. When it was rung up it came to over $32.00 which I balked at and asked why it was so much and pointed out the marked price on the box. He apologized and try to fix it but was having a bit of difficulty and called the manager over for help. She looked and the box of turtles and said they were also $14.99 even they they were marked at $8.99. I mentioned I believe they ar obligated to sell it for the marked price. Instead she said she could make me a smaller box that would come to $8.99. Having been a manager in retail I know th right thing to do is sell it for the marked price unless there is some GREAT discrepency or thievery is in question. Which niether come close to being accurate. She admitted it was mismarked. I voted with my feet and will not go back to this business. I usually do not write negative reviews but with this it is the principle of the matter. There are MANY businesses who are clamoring for patrons after the last year and they know to put customer service and satisfaction first. The failure to honor a marked price by $6.00 cost them my business and those who ask me where I would and would not shop. This all being said, a business culture is from the top down. I dont hold a resentment to the manager as I imagine she was doing what she though the owners would want. So the owners taking this out on her would be worse than the issue itself.
Do NOT trust the staff regarding gluten free options. Their signs and explanations were absolutely opposite. Yikes.
Hand made candies and homemade ice cream so good A must try when in old town.
Great friendly service. Went above and beyond! My partner and I came in close to closing time one evening, they were out of what she was seeking (pumpkin walnut fudge), so we left. As we crossed college ave we saw the employee running behind us saying they had found some. It absolutely made my wife’s night.
Great service freindly employees
You know that book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Well, if you offer me a fudge sample, Ill want to be your BFF. The staff here was amazing and I could not get past how beautiful the chocolates were. The caramel apples were magnificent. We went in for ice cream this time, but well be back for an apple soon.
A little expensive but worth it. Delicious ice cream, and I really appreciated all the precautions they took to protect customers and employees. Highly recommended!
I absolutely adore this place. My husband and I stop in frequently for their chocolate orange peels and ice cream. We bought a quart of the toasted coconut this week. ITS AMAZING. Everyone is always so nice.
Great fudge.Customer service was top notch. Great friendly people.
Great take place great food prices are a little high but its Old Town Fort Collins with the expect
I got the smallest size cup of ice cream and chose four flavors for it. This came out to about $15. For a kids size! Most places are $5. This place will rip you off. Icecream was average. Avoid this place.
Ice cream was good, but go for chocolates. Had great service with friendly people.
Great service.
Amazing Fudge and Ice cream! I dont know if my kids love it more than I do or if youd just call me a kid at heart! Either way, this place is Fantastic and Their Treats are Absolutely Delicious
Ive been coming here my whole life! Im always so happy when I leave!
For little kids, you can spend just a dollar and get them a (very pretty) chocolate covered pretzel stick or a rock candy stick. The money you save can go towards their great ice creams for adults. :-) I really enjoyed the coconut chocolate ice cream they had on special. The bench right outside the shop is pretty for picture and people watching!
Great old classic ice cream shop. The fudge is to die for. Wait isnt usually very long. Not a ton a space to eat once youve got your treat but on a nice warm day its great to walk around Old Town after.
Omg so good
The ice cream was good but $9 for a medium shake is absolutely insane.
Great service!!! Enjoyed the ice cream, but the fudge was best. We tried many favors and ended up with the German Chocolate, Turtle Carmel and the English Walnut. They sell fresh made marshmallows and chocolates. There cakes looked amazing, that were layers of yumminess. Will definitely be back for more fudge and especially for the cake.
Walked in because of the delicious smell right outside their store. They offered free fudge and ice cream samples. I hadnt been in there since I was a kid and theyve kept it cozy and local but have redecorated and made it a bit classier.Awesome sweets that are handmade daily, caramelized sweets and candied apples but their fudge is their specialty. Go in, check it out even if just for smells.
Everything looked DELICIOUS! We came for ice cream and there were so many tasty flavors. Would love to come back to try their fudge and other treats.
A little pricey, but worth is for the downtown community feel. Great customer service and chill atmosphere.
Fort Collins has 4 ice cream shops downtown and they all stay in business with tasty flavors. The other three only sell ice cream but Kilwins also sells fudge and chocolates so if you have a group with someone who doesnt like ice cream, try this place.
Delicious ice cream!! So many flavors. The place is adorable and friendly service! Prices are a bit high but soooo good. Love to take the family for some ice cream on a little Saturday date. They also have great fudge, lots of things to try!
A nicely organized store and well-stocked. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The fudge is very good and they are generous with samples. However, $8 for 2 scoops of ice cream is outrageous in my opinion. I dont notice a difference between their ice cream and the half gallon I can buy at the grocery store for half that price.
Great selection of great ice cream. Clean.
My wife bought some amazing fudge and I bought a milkshake from here earlier in the week. 4 stars because my milkshake was 9$ and in my opinion way overpriced. Call me cheap, but I am not sure any milkshake is worth that much. Great look and experience overall, but my wallet told me I could not give this place 5 stars.
The ice cream was delicious! I ordered a waffle cone and it was delightful on such a sunny day. Great refreshing treat. They have other sweets too, like caramel apples and the sort. We will have to come back and try more items.
I like this place but the mark up on their products is insane. Ive recently looked at what it would cost for each product and they are asking way to much for what their products are worth. I like the feel and the vibe however and they do try hard to please otherwise
I called and wanted a few things set aside, hoping it wouldnt be sold out by the time I got there. Nora was super helpful with what I need and even gave me a few suggestions. 100% I would come back.
The most amazing caramel apples!!! Soft caramel over the apple and so fresh! A must if you are in Fort Collins.
Never disappoints. Impeccable service and fudge
The fudge is fantastic, the ice cream is delicious and the candy is good. But the last time I went in for fudge I was searched without hardly any questions because one of the staff claimed I was shop lifting a caramel. I was simply browsing, they checked the cameras and kept us fifteen minutes just to prove I was innocent after calling me out in front of the entire store and other customers. My girlfriend ended up forgetting the fudge we went there for because she was so uncomfortable.
Last night (3/4/17) my family went to Kilwins for ice cream but was treated with much more. While enjoying our ice cream, we were mesmerized by the man creating fudge behind the glass. Similar to The Great and Wonderful Oz, this man worked his magic and told us how and why he was doing it. At the end of his demonstration, we were treated to a fresh sample. Oz of Fudge Making...you ROCK!
Always good place for some icecream. Locally owned franchise of a Nationwide chain, but good anyway.
Good ice cream, but super expensive. I could have bought each of my kids an entire half gallon of good quality ice cream from the grocery store for what I paid for a small cones here.
Got a custom fudge order done for about $60, it was exactly like my passed grandmas fudge which i hadnt had in almost 20 years.Remember that scene from Ratatouille when the critic eats the food and it shoots back to his childhood? Yeah it was kind of like that.
Delicious Strawberry, twin berry pie and chocolate fudge brownie
Stopped on a Friday night and had some very yummy yellow cake mix chocolate ice cream. Accidentally left my phone and went back the next morning looking for it and they returned it safe and sound. (Thank you!) Good people, good ice cream.
Good ice cream.
The staff are friendly and dealt with me asking to try so many flavors before purchasing anything.. they didn’t mind at all. Defiantly will be back here. Loved the ice cream
Some of.the best sweets money can buy. A great array of creative treats. The service is fast and the prices arent all that bad.
Customer experience was poor. Was about 50ft away from store when my friends ice cream cone broke. The ice cream fell on the sidewalk. We took it back and they asked if we wanted a bowl for the ice cream that fell on the sidewalk. Stood in line to get a new ice cream cone and a short bald guy with lip piercings asked if we wanted a new one. We said yes but than he told it wasnt going to be free. We never said we wanted a free ice cream he just assumed that we did. I will take my business else where.
Super tasty super expensive Ice cream - they definitely take advantage of being downtown in Fort Collins. I heard there was a new shop up the street after we bought our ice cream which well definitely be looking for next time.
Best ice cream Ive ever had. I got half Double Peanut Butter Pie & half Ft. Collins Mud and was not disappointed! Creamy and delicious! Next time Ill have to try some of their other treats.
Very tasty treats and friendly staff. The prices are pretty high, but I kind of expected that.
Delicious as always. Been going here since I was little
Candy Apples are my favorite
Hands down the best ice cream Ive ever had. The heavenly hash is perfect. Everything in the store is terrific, love the caramel apples, the hot chocolate and the fudge.
Im a foco native and this is one of my favorite places ever! We often stop in after dinner downtown to get some chocolates and a caramel apple for desert. Weve never had bad service- this place is cute and their sweets are the best!
Always delicious caramel apples and ice cream, but van not forget about the fudge samples! So tasty
I loved going here with my hubby!! Our dog loved the ice cream too😊
Went in to get strawberry chunk ice cream (a family favorite) and one of their ice cream cases was completely down and apparently had been for a few days with no offer to scoop it from the back and no apology. Decided to get fudge instead only to be told the price had gone up. Ended up leaving to go to Walrus Ice Cream for our fix. Way cheaper and more local anyways. Seems like Kilwins has been going downhill for a few months, and this visit was the last straw. Will not return.
Good Ice Cream and Friendly Staff!! The loved my family but was a little frustrated when we could pick a flavor. Over all good service. Just know what you want when you walk in😍😍
Great place for your sweet tooth. Try a free sample of fudge and make sure to get a package of sea salt carmels.
Best ice cream place! they service is very friendly and they let you try different flavors. The chocolate peanut butter ice cream is just out of this earth. They have super tasty fudges like the caramel one, my favorite was the house one.
OMG..The smells alone are fantastic...service outstanding...and the ice cream...wow...definitely worth the price...
Amazing icecream and sweets....i especially love their fudge
Rather small store front, but they have a wide selection of treats and the comparatively few things we were able to try were all yummy.
You really cant go wrong with anything here! Their ice-cream is good and their hot chocolate in the winter time is to die for!
Possibly my favorite candy shop ever! Local love with amazing ice cream for the kids. My son loves the Superman ice cream and so do I. Boylen soda and homemade fudge and other treats. Check them out during your tour of Ftc.
A Fort Collins classic that is perfect for a little treat! A little overpriced, therefore four stars. I highly recommend the toasted coconut ice cream.
The Peanut Butter Cup and the Fudge I got were both great.
The fudge was very expensive and tasted exactly the same as the kind I make at home. The chocolate covered pretzel sticks are good, but expensive compared to other places I can get them. The place always smells really good, though.
Im obsessed. The Fort Collins mud, Carmel apples, Carmel chews, everything here is absolutely delicious. I probably go here too often but I cant help it, its too good.
One of my favorite places to stop for dessert in fort collins
Best ice cream I have ever had in my life!!
Good place for a night out
The best Ice Cream in Ft C and the greatest staff. And there are always BOGO cuponsThey prove that eating GOOD ice cream does NOT make you fat. Im there a lot.
Always great service and chocolates etc. It is pricey but worth it. Have ice cream and caramel too.
Their candy is amazing. I really like the caramel covered marshmallows are my favorite.
Yum.... A little pricey BUT well worth it for a Special treat! A favorite place!
Gouged prices and disgusting customer service. Poor excuse for an establishment.
Eh. This place was too expensive for a blue collar worker like myself. I honestly think I paid something like $19 for a sundae and some fudge. They were both delicious, but WAY too expensive. If you have deep pockets, splurge and go. Otherwise, find the local Dairy Queen. 2.5 stars.
Friendly staff, good ice cream and chocolates!Recommend getting more seating!
Yum & yum. True chocolatiers
Always good, we ask for the penuche, which is kept out back in a cooler.
Amazing. Wish there was a location near home.
Good ice cream but so so expensive cant bring myself to pay up for it. From my home state of Michigan.
The best ice cream in the state!!! The heavenly hash flavor is to die for.
Great ice cream. So so service.
Good service with great icecream and chocolates
Best in Fort Collins! Trust me, I grew up here. Try it and youll see.
Line moves quickly, friendly staff- fantastic Georgia peach ice cream
Great place to get a gift, and a little something for yourself.
