Even with the Covid going on nd one person working the shop they still had all I needed and Taylor the manager was able to make a bit of small talk and also answer a few questions. Always have loved this place and hope it doesnt go anywhere any time soon. Especially it being the only homebrew shop serving Northern Colorado north of Longmont and SE Wyoming (probably most of Wyoming)

I called to check if they were open on the Fourth of July, not only were they open they stayed open for me to drive about 50 miles to make my purchase. The manager was very knowledgeable and assisted to ensure I was getting the things I needed.

If youre in Fort Collins and looking for the best place to get your brew supplies, take a nice drive down Taft Hill Road to Loveland and at Highway 34 in a little strip mall to the north east of the intersection youll find ELEVATED FERMENTATION. Friendly staff with hands on help willing to help in kitting ingredients from a list of great beer types and variations. Hops and Berries was a HUGE disappointment with no help and only the mandate that I should buy his book and come back when I knew exactly what I wanted. H&B was self serve waste of time. I didnt leave with anything other than frustration over his attitude.

Went in for cheese making kitsch and didnt have any even though website said they carried them. Not helpful at all with products they did carry, would rather watch us leave then help out. Buy online, dont waste your time.

Great local brew supply store. They pretty much have everything. A couple times the bin was empty.....but a quick hey do you have any more _________? gets you a quick run to the back where theres usually some more stock. They carry a bunch of those unique grains that are hard-to-find. Support this local brew shop. Brew beer. (Yes....they carry wine stuff too.)

They really know what theyre talking about. If youre a home brewer, make sure to support Hops and Berries. Not only do they have all the ingredients you could need but they also have the knowledge to go with it. A great resource for home brewing!

Based on reading the past reviews, not much has changed over the years. I am not going to complain about the prices, I understand they are trying to make a buck, and if you are as smart as they are, then make friends with your local brewer (we have plenty now, right?) and buy from them at half the cost.Now on to the staff.....there is still one person at the north store who continues to be condescending, rude, insulting to anyone who doesnt know everything, and generally appears to just hate their job. Why are you in the service industry if you dont like dealing with people? I am paying you for your service, not your attitude, eye rolling, condescending tone, etc. Isnt it to your benefit to make people WANT to come back to you to buy more supplies? Far out concept, right? Its like a previous poster said, if they dont think you know what you are doing or what you are doing is good enough, then move along. Hey, I am trying to give you money, and you give me grain......simple?Basically, I want to support a local business, and dont mind paying a bit extra for the convenience. But after having multiple experiences like this, I have realized that that person isnt just having a bad day and nothing has changed. So now, not wanting to deal with this, I have found other ways to obtain supplies (at a lower price) and not have to deal with this poor customer service.I want to support local, but dont want to support years of bad service.

I arrived at the store on a Sunday and talked with 2 employees. Both were nice, polite, and professional. I didnt need any supplies or equipment at the moment, more just stopping in to see what they had in stock. However, after talking with the manager I left with a book and couldnt have been more pleased with his recommendation. Ill definitely be back to pick up ingredients for my next brew!

The staff was pleasant. They set items I needed aside at counter. They asked if they could. Beats the service at their competitor in Cheyenne all to ribbons. Definitely will use them for my business again. Worth the drive from Cheyenne.

I came here with my daughter as she is beginning to experiment with brewing her own meads. I had a lot of fun checking out all the stuff and the guys were extremely helpful & informative. Her mead is on point thanks to their advice.

Hops and Berries just like any other business has its really great and has had some not so great employees. Overall they are a great little store that is growing and expanding with the home brewing enthusiasts in the area. I live over 300 miles away and every time I am in the area I make it a point to stop in and get supplies. I am amazed at how their business seems to grow and how long the lines at the counter are getting. This might explain why sometimes they are out of a particular item. Having owned and manages several business in the past I can appreciate how difficult it is to keep certain items in stock when your business is growing at a rapid pace. I give this business an A+ for service they have actually phoned and emailed me when a specialty item I wanted is in stock. I give them an A+ for knowledge they are accurate and spot on when it comes to helping find answers to a brewing question or situation. I have been brewing beer since 1968 and when I have a question they are the ones I turn to first

I have been coming to this place for well over 2 years now and it still rocks. It doesnt matter who is working, you will get someone who can answer any questions. Prices are market appropriate and they always have what you need in stock. Highly recommended for brewing and fermenting enthusiasts alike.

Im never dissatisfied or disappointed with the quality of service, variety and quality of selections, or the beer I make after visiting. I can tell any employee the type of beer I want to make and they coach me through it. They make homebrewing easy and enjoyable.

I found my experience at Hops and Berries to be incredible. Kirk was very helpful and respectful as I had a lot of questions about wine making. My mother had made wine on the farm years ago and some of the techniques that she used were certainly out of date although I didnt want to give up totally on the history of our family was making. Kirk did not judge and told me how to make the process better without completely abandoning our old world ways. I will definitely be back.

Im a new brewer and their employees were so knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions I had! Their prices beat Amazon and everywhere I looked online. I feel comfortable coming to this store and knowing that Im getting the best price! Ill be a lifelong customer!

Good variety of hops and grains. Cant find a better selection in NOCO. Even the yeast variety is unmatched. You can pretty much make any beer youd like to. Would have given 5 stars if the grain room was cleaned every once in a while. Its usually a big mess even right as they open. Also the grain mill is usually not set right as my grains usually are not cracked enough.

This place always has what I need for making mead and the staff are helpful if you need it.

I am very pleased and happy that I made the decision to go to the Hops and Berries south side store. Even with the warehouse style appearance, I was greeted by knowledgable staff that really seemed to know their business. The 2 young gentlemen that helped me went out of their way to make me feel at home. It might very well be hit or miss at the north side store, but I did not feel like I was being talked down to and a bother to the employees as my experience was on the north side of town. I will continue my business in the future at the south store!

The folks there have always been very nice and happy to help. Unfortunately the reason I need their help is that they seldom have the hops or yeast I need and I have to find a substitute. I wish their stocking was better.

Helpful staff, and great selection on grains, hops and yeast. Equipment selection may be hit or miss but its unrealistic to expect a homebrew shop to have everything on hand all the time. Prices are reasonable. My only complaint is a 40 minute drive from my house, lol. Its the closest homebrew shop and worth the drive.

The first trip was dirty but I needed something for a brew and didnt want to drive to Loveland. Second visit was much better.

Can confirm other reviews: out of stock with many products. Among other outages, did not have any of the hops I wanted and they were out of half of the substitution hops. Store seemed cluttered and in need of a good cleaning.

UPDATE 2015: Both stores are friendly places with decent-ish prices. Cant comment much on the customer service because I largely ignore the staff at this point, since all my interactions with them were some form of do you think the other store has this item? The in-stock issue remains in full swing, and the fun game I play now is what will they be out of this time? Three trips ago, fresh out of EKG hops, two trips ago it was Aromatic malt, last trip it was (believe it or not) Safale-05. Some of the most common ingredients for basic, basic beers. Did, amazingly, have a vial of an obscure-ish Czech lager strain that I was expecting to have to order (just the one, though - sorry next person who wanted to brew a Czech Pils!) Maybe my beers just arent weird enough to shop here. :)
