Subpar service. They are understaffed, and as a result the wait in line to get help is very long, they dont explain thier policies but expect you to know what they are. Who reads store policies before going to a store to buy or sell items??They give you very little money for your stuff and take hardly anything, but then thier store is full of clothes and items that are so used and faded, it makes it hard to rationalize why they didnt accept your things. Do not recommend this store.

I love this place. The staff is friendly, the selection is broad, and the prices are great! A wonderful resource for all us parents on a budget.

Staff is super kind

I have always loved this store but have not been in to shop for quite a while until just recently! There are signs on your front door about wearing masks properly but obviously it’s not enforced! There were three boys running around the store, taking toys off the shelf, which is in the back - the mother is in her cell phone in the front of the store! Another couple - holding a baby, were walking around masks half off their face or not even covering their nose ! This store should not be letting kids take toys off the shelf - nor is it a playground! Very disappointing!

In the middle of shopping with a cart full of items my four year old decided she had to go to the restroom very bad. I went up to the front to ask the ladies if we could use the restroom and they let us know that we could not. Their solution was that we should go next-door across the parking lot to McDonald’s to use the restroom. I understand with Covid there are a lot of new rules and restrictions, but to have a clothing shop for children with no public restrooms is not acceptable. I also wanted to add that the lady checking me out said she had put my receipt in the bag, there was no receipt to be found... I would not recommend shopping there.

This place is terrible second time I have tried to sell something and get a notification to pick up the stuff they didn’t buy come to find out when I get to store they can’t find the items they are suppose to return to me so I ended up loosing some clothing and a jumper because they couldn’t find it and decided to say they donated it and the 11 people working in there have no idea what’s going on with anything will not be returning to this storeGot reply from owner not addressing my actual problem I’m not mad because you guys did not buy my stuff I understand you can’t buy everything but my issue is that the items you did not buy when I got notification to come back and pick up stuff you weren’t taking i showed up and you guys had lost it and I never did get back the items you guys did not buy from me and in the past It was a jumper you didn’t buy from me and when I went to pick it up and tale it back you guys had misplaced that as well I did bring it to the attention of the workers and in all honesty they act like they were trying to help but had no resolution for the problem at all

Most of the staff is wonderful, just not all. The oldes gall there is rude with an attitude problem. I’m glad I found that out shortly after walking threw the door! Now the other poor girls that have to work with her don’t also have to put everything I was going to buy back. I will not return there! Second the prices are over the top on some of there products. I felt like I was in a pawn shop that price gouges. I would much rather buy from the community or brand new than return to this store

Fair prices for the most part. The staff is a give or take if they are willing to help you find something. They will give you a better price for your items if you take store credit.

Took them 2 hours to reject 95% of my items including brand name new clothes.

Its pretty Covid friendly. Masks are mandatory. There are plexiglass shields in front of the cashiers. I just wish the racks werent so close together.

Much better coming in the second time. Friendlier faces and welcoming feeling. Seems though that the one in Longmont has a better selection and better prices.

The staff here are very friendly. Walked in and was greeted and helped right away. The women explained the process for selling items, they are busy so it took until the next day to receive an offer on the 3 bags of clothes I left. They ended up taking quite a bit of it and offered me 98 dollars which I though was fair and a lot more than I was expecting. I would highly recommend taking your children’s items here!

This is a great place to get clothes, toys and other gently used items. We go here pretty regularly to turn in used clothes and get new stuff. You need to be willing to spend a bit of time as the volume of stuff means you often have to dig around for the good finds. Also the wait to check out is usually kind of long. Still its a great option for nice clothes and recycling helps everyone.

I have had such amazing luck at this store! From monitors, to sound machines, to baby carriers, to kids shoes, to swim floaties, and a double stroller... I love this store and even when it is slammed with business the staff is always helpful and somehow keeps up with everything making shopping easier. Highly recommended.

Jade is an AMAZING sales associate and just easy to talk to about anything you are needing help with or have any questions about. I had a wonderful experience! It was my first time both selling and shopping. Jade is definitely an awesome asset to their team! Ask for her when you go in. She’s awesome!!!

I actually want to leave this review over my interview. Never worked there and never want to after that. I apply, get told what time to come in, come in at the right time, and I end up having to wait 20 minutes anyway... I go into the office for the interview which at first I thought was going well. After some questions and answers, the manager literally brings up that they dont have time or tolerate people that bring drama because then coworkers will start complaining. She even mocked and eye rolled about it. Its odd because to bring that up in an interview is irrelevant and I personally dont think a manager should be acting as immature as the people shes describing. Its rude because she assumed everybody that walks in the office is the same past troubles. The manager also explained the procedure of the tasks and then doubted me because its fast paced work. Just because you have had people that cant keep up, doesnt mean every person that walks in the office is the same... again judgement. It got to the end of the interview and she mentioned that they would get back to me on that same day which they never did and still havent (been a few days). Completely rude and unprofessional.

I love that a place like this exists and the idea is great. But, unless you go in one of their specials days, it is expensive. I can find the same orices on clearance racks at target or even carters. Some of the clothes are very worn too. The puzzles are a good deal though.

Summary: great deals / great service / save time to shop here and search.My husband and I shop here often. It is our favorite local used kids clothing and toys store. We were determined to keep costs low and life simple with our kid stuff. This store has helped us so much!Like any used store - the catch is always more time needed to shop and pour over isles of clothes. Or be okay with they may not have exactly what you are looking for. However, we have left multiple times with a deal and been served very helpfully. There are enough people that work there that someone knows the answer!We also love that we can consign items we are done with. We will keep going back!

Disappointed at the amount of boy clothes. I constantly need clothes and it seems as my son gets bigger in size the less clothes they have to pick from. He’s only 5T to 6. Barely any selection at this location. Cheyenne WY is better!

I dont know what these other people are talking about. I found this to be one of the most organized once upon a child stores I have been to. The staff is nice and everything is easy to find. Maybe they have fixed the store up since these last reviews.

Left off items shortly after they opened. Around 945. From Greeley. Said they would text in a few hours. Called them back at 2 said they were getting ready to go through it. Ran some errands got back there at 330. Still not done. They hadnt even moved it from the spot I left it. Told the girl that there was no way that many people were in front of me that it wasnt even done after 6 hours. I will sell my stuff online from now on!!!

The store runs is nothing fancy, but it does a good job as a consignment business. I have purchased from the store several times. It is hit or miss if I can find what I am looking for, but that is what happens when shopping at any consignment store. The complaints about the prices and product quality are amusing to me; the flip side is the complaints about the people not getting top dollar or the store not buying perfectly good cloths. I recently sold some stuff and I felt they paid me a fair amount for the products considering they need to pay their staff and for their store front. Yes, they passed on buying a lot of things...but again people complain about the product quality so I understand why. Next time I sell, Ill take the time to put together outfits and will discard any items that have been well loved. I think this store operates as it needs to keep the doors open, and I am glad to have it as an option in my community.

My girlfriend went in to purchase clothing for my daughter and they wouldnt take the card because it was under my name and not hers. We are limited on time and resources and its dissapointing that they were unwilling to let her pay with my card. We will now have to wait another week to get clothing for my child.

Awful management and owner. One of the managers is amazing, but doesnt have much power. The other one and the owner mistreat their employees, extend their probationary period indefinitely (so they can be fired at any time with no repercussions) and like to randomly reduce hours to five or zero if they dont like you. (Its not even me that either of those happened to.)As for the store itself, its incredibly crowded, the owner lives in the back rooms so most everything has to be on the floor at once, making it feel like a hoarders house. The prices are also much, much higher than what they buy the merchandise for-- they often buy a shirt for 50 cents and sell it for six dollars. Please go elsewhere and dont support this place.

My first time through here, and we are decently well stocked up on clothes for our baby. It is filled with reasonably priced and gently used childrens clothes. It is packed but well organized and clean.

The reason for 3 stars is Their prices are a little higher than thrift stores. Also they dont have a wide variety of items. They are picky about what they have in store. The Good is they are organized, clean and inviting atmosphere.

Good deals on mostly used kids clothes. Lots of things are new with original tags. Nice staff. They will buy gently used items from you for cash or store credit.

The staff is rude and the prices seem to go up every time I’ve been there. I will drive all the way to Greeley just to avoid going here.

I dropped off some items to be sold and received a text message saying they had an offer ready for me. The sign says the store closes at 8:00pm, I showed up at 7:48pm and the front doors were locked. There were employees inside and when they saw me, they just shrugged. It is unfortunate that I wasted almost an hour of my time to ensure they didnt confiscate my items for not picking them up within 24 hours.

They have lots of gently used baby/child clothes, gear, toys, etc. Their buying process is a little slow, but not due to any fault of their own, there just really needs to be another Once Upon a Child in Fort Collins. I have been able to get clothes, toys, a bassinet, a walker and a lot of other baby stuff in really good condition, and for a fraction of what it would sell for new!

Love it here, decent prices for mostly really nice clothing. I almost always find what I need (and a lot more ha ha) My only complaint is that the owner pumps a strong perfume in the air and it gives me a headache. I wish theyd use a little less of whatever theyre using😜

Recently I bought a double stroller here which turned out to have a defect. They allowed me to return it for store credit even though it had already passed the return window. I also have bought a changing table and rocking chair here. You get what you see, usually, and in my experience this is a great place to go on big stuff that is normally pretty expensive. I have not yet bought clothes here but I plan to try and see how it goes.

I bought a jogging double stroller from here. It ended up being damaged because of the belt in one of the wheels. Happened before I got it, just didnt know it. I lost my receipt and called 2 weeks after the purchase. The manager was amazing she gave me a full refund and set me up with a different double stroller. This store has everything you could need for your kiddos, and the customer service is AMAZING!

Ive given this store the benefit of the doubt for the last time. They never have a selection of clothes in my sons size, when they do theyre overpriced. I took in an almost new art easel today but forgot to bring the wooden rod that holds the paper. They would not tell me the amount theyd give me if I brought the rod back. Instead they wanted me to load it up, take it with me and bring it back with the rod for a price. Ugh!! Theyve got a long ways to go on their customer service.

Ive had really mixed experiences here. One time I will go and have the best service, the next time absolutely terrible. Today I brought in a bounce seat and they told me I could wait as they could quickly decide on a large item. I was told about 10-15 minutes. After 40 minutes they decided to pass as the item was stained (it isnt stained at all). To top all of that off, in all of their inspection, they broke part of the seat, so I really cant even donate it.

The staff didnt smile. They didnt look very happy to be at work. Also, the clothes all mimic the same price varying on the brand. For instance, a gap shirt was the same price, regardless of how faded or stained or outdated that it was. Also, the amount of inventory that they had, other than clothes, was fairly disappointing. This store has gone downhill.

Ive never loved this store, and they arent ever very friendly and the prices really arent much better than a good clearance of new clothing other places, but today they were rude, and judgmental and down right embarrassing.I will never step foot in there again.They are becoming to good and stuffy.

Reasonable prices and selection, not a bad place to hit up in a pinch. A lot cheaper than new, and more convenient than garage sales.

The process was quick and they text you if you want to drop off and go do other things. The customer service was awful, employees seems annoyed to be doing there jobs and the condescending attitude made me feel unwelcome. Next time I will do the work myself and sell my things Craigslist or donate it. The rude experience was not worth the small amount of cash I received for the items sold.

Great assortment of children clothes. Fair prices, you do have inspect the clothes thoroughly because some look really nice and cheap but they have a rip or stain hidden sometimes.

This is a great place to find gently used childrens items. They have a great selection and heat prices.

I will not bring my items here again. I got there at 11:00 and at 5:30, my stuff still had not been looked through. At around 4:00 I went in to see if they might have forgotten to text me, but I was wrong. There were quite a few employees, but only 2 of them were actually going through the items. They were not very busy at the time and it looked like a lot of nothing was going on. I am very disappointed.

OK prices on some things, over priced on others. This is an overcrowded store that can be hard to push a cart through. I hate standing in their lines and I never come here WITH my kids because I find the whole experience stressful enough without the kids. Staff is usually unfriendly at best. Wish they had a nice place to nurse a baby or change a diaper, since this is a childrens store. I understand that they have to make money, so their buying offers are low and I dont take things there that I can sell on eBay easily. All in all, Id love to see a shop like this open up and give them a run for their money.

I usually love OUAC but am very disappointed that they have changed their policies to one stamp per $10 to one stamp per $15. And today theyre having a sale which I accumulated $15 but was told I cannot get a stamp because theyre discounted items. Ive never encountered that before nor does it make sense. I spent the allotted amount to receive a punch but cannot because theyre discounted?..

Got there at 6:10pm to drop clothes off to sell. After dropping off 3 times last week, I knew it would take a day for them to go through and I would just pick up my money/clothes tomorrow. But this time they told me they stopped taking clothes at 6 pm and I’d have to come back tomorrow. I asked for an exception since it’s hard for me to get there before 6 (and they don’t actually close until 7pm).The lady asked her manager who then said no, I’d have to come back. Seriously?! Just rude. I don’t guess they want to make money off me too bad!

Seasonal clearance sale. They have big signs everywhere saying that clearance is 60% off. I bought an item that was clearance $15 marked down from $20. I wasnt paying attention at checkout and they charged me $15... I called to clarify and they said it would say 60% off on the receipt if they did it right and to come in to fix it. I show up 10 minutes later so they can tell me the clearance only means red lined items not clearance... So why didnt they say that on the phone so I didnt have to get my kids in and out of the car repeatedly!? All the signs are false advertising, it should say red lines instead of clearance. Im more irritated that I had to make an extra trip than the money difference. Their prices are too high and ill just wait for the just between friends sales instead of shopping here.

Every time I come here, I leave disappointed and frustrated. I would like to see two cash registers open when its busy and employees who are quick and considerate at the register. I also feel the prices are much too high. I can get new clothes at Old Navy for less.

NEVER AGAIN! I am a frequent customer here and buying is okay if you dont mind long lines and iffy customer service. But I will never sell here again. The process is so jumbled and you dont really know how much you are getting for which items. I took in 4 large crates of toys and 4 of clothes. I got 5 empty crates back but only $64. The very worst part was the clothes. I went to considerable effort to laundry, fold, and organize them all by size and season. What I got back was a jumbled wrinkled mess! Next time Ill stick to FB Marketplace, Craigslist, and our neighborhood garage sale.

You can find deals if you look hard. Most things I can find on sale at other stores for cheaper price. The smell in the store is stong- takes a few washes before the smell is out of the clothes. Staff will help, but wont go out of their way to see if you need anything. Its ok.

I have been terribly disappointed the last several times that I have tried to buy or sell stuff here. I have shopped here for a very long time and know what brands they accept and what quality/condition is acceptable. In the past couple months, my daughter and I have tried to sell them some near perfect infant clothing and they have blatantly lied to us saying they dont accept such and such brands but as I walked around the store I saw they selling the very brands they said they didnt accept. Just recently, I took my granddaughters near perfect bassinet in ( which we had purchased there a few months ago in the exact same condition) to sell to them and they refused it due to the battery cover missing! I found it very interesting that they had sold it to me that way just 3 months ago with a sign that said as is and now refused it for that very reason! Talk about a double standard!! I and my daughter are going to be taking our business elsewhere and because we work in the childcare field, we will NOT be recommending them to any of our parents!!

FYI no prices are not good. I spent 20 mins searching shoes at Walmart for my kids and thought oh once upon a child will have them cheaper boy was I wrong!! Flip flops, USED dirty and stretched will run you .47 cents cheaper than buying them brand new at walmart. Some shoes were TWICE the amount Walmart even asked for new shoes. Great shop for when youre in a pinch and need something. But certainly NOT a money saver store.

When I got outside I realized the cashier charged me TWICE AS MUCH and for items I didn’t buy! AGAIN!!!!! Because I was focused on my special needs child, the cashier ROBBED ME, And then tried to argue returning my money, then demanding I fill out a return slip and show my Id when they finally agreed to give my money back? A return slip for money you stole from me? I don’t know how this place is still in business but it’s literally theft, and to take advantage of parents....ESPECIALLY ONES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN is literally the most pathetic, disgusting, low thing you can do as a human and a business. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I am reporting this to the BBB and seeing who else can investigate the straight robbery and over charging of parents hard working money! It took me SOOO long to go through my daughters clothes. I picked out all name brand, no stains, barely warn, things with tags & brand new shoes NEVER warn. They just didnt fit her but we cant return them because they were bought online.They wanted 5 items (INCLUDING $22 never warn shoes) for $7!! All were Osh Kosh, Old Navy, Faded Glory, Carter, A Childrens Place, Hollister, Jillians Closet, Epic Threads, etc...DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS INSULTING BUSINESS!

This place has the best deals in Fort Collins they give you great prices for things that you bring in and even better prices for things you buy! This place is the damond in the rough!

I havent shopped here for years, until I recently had a baby girl. The store is dirty (The carpet was so stained I didnt want to set down my diaper bag while looking) and overcrowded. Its a maze to find the section and size you need. The shoe situation is very poorly organized. I actually found one I liked but it was missing the other shoe. Im not digging through 15 bins to find the matching. Some were in dingy beat up ziplocs. I wasnt impressed with the selection of clothing. I wont pay $5.50 for Target or Walmart brand items, when I can get them brand new much cheaper. A lot of the items had TONS of fading & wash wear and looked like they had been handed down over many years. I did like their $1 clearance item sale. Good time to stock up on Carters Sleep & Plays. I wish someone would open a brand name only consignment shop. Cut back on clutter by only accepting items in EUC or VGUC (minimal wash wear) and shoes on racks. In fact, there was one in my home town (San Diegos Baby Go Round) I miss that place!

This place will unapologetically give you insultingly low offers when you try to sell them used products even though many products sell for 5 times what they paid you within a few days. Even back when I was a child and I was selling toys here because my pathetically lazy parents didnt feed me and I desperately needed money.

To all the parents who are disappointed with the prices they receive for used items: Welcome to the real world of supply and demand... baby items have faster turn over than any other used items on the market. As a result second hand stores can be quite picky about what inventory they choose to bring in and how much they will pay for said merchandise; what they offer is convenience. Of course you will get more on Craigslist/Ebay, you will also incur more hassle and risk. Craigslist sounds great til you use it. As far as the staff goes I have found them to be quite helpful just few in number. Again this is how every second hand/discount/thrift store works. Go to Ross or T.J. Max and tell me if you see 5 registers and 10 floor employees; spoiler alert! You dont. Show me a second hand store with ample employees and Ill show you a store with outrageous prices, because *gasp* employees account for more overhead than the location in a store where Once Upon a Child is located. If you want super low prices head to Goodwill, I have, the merchandise for babies is dirty broken and old- the exact kind of stuff Once Upon a Child turns down. So be realistic; Once Upon a Child gives poor resale prices, has limited staff, and slightly higher prices than most thrift stores- and thats okay, because they offer me convenience and piece of mind. If that doesnt appeal to you then you know what your other options are- utilize them and stop complaining.

Last weekend I took in 5 large Fisher Price play sets and a few misc. toys. 4 of the 5 playsets were hardly used...and more like brand new... and had all of the pieces.....the one playset was well loved and did have quite a few pieces missing. I was told to come back the next business day to see what sold and the price I would be paid. They gave me a whole $9.20....saying that the rest had missing pieces (no they did not) and were too worn (hardly used, except for the one set) and were too old....these were purchased in the 90s and are selling quite high on Ebay for great shape items.I was told I could take the unsold items back with me or donate them. I wish I had the room, as I wouldve taken them all back home and listed them on Ebay or Craigslist. I instead ended up donating them because lack of space is what brought me to this store in the first place.Dont waste your time selling items here if you have the time and space to list them and sell them online!!! A total rip off!!

Pretty disappointing that I took the time to re-wash and nicely fold all the clothes I brought in, because that is what you request, but the clothes you returned were just thrown back in the bin all wrinkled.
