I am in Colorado from Ohio visiting my son/wife. My son is stationed at Fort Carson. Beautiful base. Visitor center where I had to get my visitor pass was very professional and courteous. I would though, suggest, maybe offering visitors who have come far and near some sort of Welcome packet as an added touch and maybe the visitor center employees end that experience by telling a visitor to enjoy their visit. Just a suggestion.Otherwise, I am so proud and appreciative of all military and thank you for your service.

Ive never seen a commissary where the workers act, respond and just look miserable. Thought Id grab a nice sandwich on my lunch, interrupted by a female worker who rushed to throw it together.

It’s a big supermarket. Nothing too crazy, you go here to buy food and get out. The store itself is pretty much always clean and always properly stocked with items. There’s nothing to complain about.

Nice, well kept, large store. Good product selection and courteous, helpful employees. Very good deli counter. Plenty of self check-out positions made for a quick and efficient stop.

Stopped by mgr because daughter had a camera (turned off) on her necklace. We have it to protect our service dogs if attacked by non-service dogs. (Happens more times than needed). The manager stood in front while another stood behind us in an isle boxing us in to l lecture us on recording in the store. Thanks! We already had it turned off before entering and didnt need the 7 reminders, yes I counted each one.

Great place to shop for grocery needs on Fort Carson. Its even a treat that they have a sushi chef making fresh sushi daily!

Shopping experience is great with nice clean and organized aisles. Store had a good variety of items and no need to go else where.

New to southern Colorado Springs and decided to check out the commissary. It was a great place to shop. Very clean & has a nice selection of items to choose from. Commissary staff is friendly and courteous! I will definitely be back to Ft. Carson.

Best prices, grocery items you cant find anywhere else, and the sweetest staff thatll give you the best conversations at check-out, and offer to help you to vehicle.

The commissary is okay but could be so much better. They seem to raise prices at pay day which is just wrong. And they have no ability to anticipate shortages.

Easy in easy out everything is always right

I can find most everything I want here depending on the day. Payday weekend is usually when the shelves get cleared out, so I try to go beforehand. I’m giving 4 stars because some of the baggers are too rough with fragile groceries, like eggs, chips, and bread. I picked perfectly fine products and once they get bagged they get squished or broken. And then these baggers expect a tip! I get that’s all they work for, but then you’d think they’d take more care doing their job?

Clean and organized, the employees were friendly and helpful. If you are on this post, this commissary gives almost no reason to go shopping of base for groceries. Has item in store that you wont find in any off lost grocer. Good selection of fresh produce and dairy products.

Sometimes I can go there and nothing is inexpensive. Other times it seems very reasonable. Usually clean.

Clean, lots of items in stock. No lines or waiting. Super service.

Everyone thinks it is a ripoff it is actually a LOT cheaper then people think. Just...if you are cool with stuck up Military personnel like myself.

Its a good place to shop for groceries on base, and you can buy certain things at a more reasonable price. The setup in the commissary is great, so that you can find everything you need.

Great prices and very convenient. However, Ive been shopping there since I retired 12+years ago. Rarely do they open the doors on time, leaving customers standing in the cold for up to 15 minutes. Cashiers are few and far between.

I rarely come to the commissary, just because its super out at the way compared to where we live. But I went today and saved SO much money plus all of the staff is super nice! I will definitely be back!

Bigger commissary than anothers. Its very clean and almost always have everything stuck. The only down size its the customer service over the self checkout, but hey its life, not everything its perfect in the world. Prices are way lower then outside stores.

Id have to say this looks like one of the cleanest commissaries Ive ever been in. Even before covid it looked like someone went around and spent their whole day cleaning. Produce looked amazing and shelves were well stocked.

I really like this commossary, the reason is because of how they have the place organized. You can do a zig zag line shopping and get everything you need and right at the end is checkout.

The meat section always great prices

I save a LOT of money when I shop at the Commissary rather than Safeway or King Soopers. The Commissary also frequently has more options to choose from. We live off post and very close to a Safeway, but if were doing big grocery shopping (long list), then we are willing to spend the extra time and mileage it takes to shop at the Commissary.

So Im not understanding. We have to wear a mask and social distance because of Covid 19 yet you allow people to walk around inside the commissary bare foot. Your sanitation is not so good. Suggest people be required to wear shoes in the commissary. Walmart, Safe Way and Albertsons require shoes inside their store but the Army does not in the Commissary. Something does not sound right.

Commissary is always good to go to.However, work does need to happen in the meat department especially beef.... There just wasnt that good of cuts on certain meats

If you are expecting to get food and are in any employment category other than active or retired military, do NOT go to the Commissary! As a permanent DOD Federal Employee with the Army Corps of Engineers, I assumed my Common Access Card (CAC) would allow me to purchase groceries as I was staying nearby at the installations hotel. Instead, the checkout clerk told me that Im a contractor -- although I explained otherwise -- so they wouldnt let me purchase the groceries I had gathered. All this despite them letting me in the door with my CAC. Apparently the left hand does not talk to the right. This will probably be the last time I stay on any installation.

I come here every weekend because the prices are better here. Unfortunately, thats where it ends. The baggers, who youre forced to use, pack your stuff so youre guaranteed to have broken items when you get home. For some reason youre no longer allowed to use your reusable bags because of COVID. If my bags are coming in with COVID how is all the merchandise not coming in that way as well? Makes nor sense. Also the most frustrating thing is during the busiest times they seem to only have one or two or the 20 registers they have open.

I disagree with the reviewers who stated that the store is well organized. Like items are scattered all over the store. I know this is done to make the customer look at all the shelves to find the item they are looking for; which, they hope will make you do compulsive buying for items you dont need. This might be good for their bottom line, but makes it inconvenient for the shopper. High demand items are not stocked on a regular basis or discontinued at times. When you ask a store associate why items arent stocked or discontinued, they say it is the contractors fault. On two positive notes the prices are pretty good and Mr. Frank the bagger is a pretty awesome person.

Beautiful commissary! We are visiting from Fort Bragg and this is outstanding.

Large modern facility that has pretty much whatever you need.

Its frustrating when the patrons dont abide by the directional arrows. Im trying to stay safe, but others dont care and do what they want, with no regards to the safety and health of others.The electric cart batteries dont last through the duration of my short shopping list and I even shut it off when Im sitting still.It has gotten better, but still too many empty shelves. Some items I havent seen in four months.I was disappointed they got rid of the hand washing stations and dont make you use hand sanitizer either. They arent fielding questions or checking ids anymore, but they did take my temperature.

Not a terrible place to shop if you plan to eat the food you buy that night as most times produce is cheapest in town there.(we saw avocado for 69 cents a pop) But that said it typically goes bad 1 to 2 days after purchase, so only buy what you need. Otherwise we go to Costco or king soopers.

I got bought some shrimp here and come to find out... it was expired. And this isn’t my first time buying rotten seafood from this commissary. Disappointed. Please do better.

Love this commissary! It is one of the nicer ones we have been to. The lines move pretty quickly especially on and near payday. Most of the cashiers are friendly. The store stays well stocked for the most part. They are pretty efficient at the self check out. There is ample parking here too. It is close to everything on base

One of the best Commissaries Ive been to in my 17 years in the military. Great selection, easy-to-navigate layout and helpful employees.

Great prices. Friendly staff. The delicatessen and sushi stand are exceptional. Produce is limited and at times not fresh. Prices for meats and canned/dry goods are competitive. Try to visit on off payday weeks. Long lines to check out if you do. Its like all other commissaries, what do you expect?

They made me bag my own groceries and they wouldnt help me with my cart and Im disabled and my wife was in a wheelchair

Good produce and good prices considering this is Hawaii. The same goes for meats. Although I would like to see unfrozen organic options. My issues are I have found too many times dairy and baked goods well past the sell by date. Overtime I mentioned it to the manager the excuse was the same, the vendors didnt rotate properly. It does not matter. Many shoppers are with little kids and dont check the dates until they get home. If even then. Its the responsibility of the grocery store. They also dont refill the milk and eggs fast enough. Too many times I have had to track down an employee to go in the back and get me some.

Outstanding way way way way way cheaper than any grocery store off post thank God I retired from the Army

Very nice commissary. One of the nicest ones I’ve seen on a base. The people are friendly, especially the meat department lady. She was so helpful and full of knowledge and smiles. The managers are also very helpful. Great place to get your groceries.

Dont recommend getting any type of cake from these people! Absolutely worst dam place ever! It looks horrible and a sloppy mess! A dam 3 year could have done better! They have more then 2 days to get this job done and this was the best they could do?!?!?!

Unpleasant Shopping ExperienceI have tried to shop here on numerous occasions. I am getting so sick and tired of all the sour, rude and disrespectful employees they have working in this place. So consistently rude that I dont even want to shop here anymore.

Typical military commissary with a wide variety of food and produces. Prices are a lot better than off base markets but the meat section could use a few more items. The hours are not bad either.

Most of the isles are spacious, which I really appreciate. The groceries are arranged pretty well, a few odd things but that really isnt too bothersome. The selection is solid and most prices are fantastic. Meat is a fair value, soda is a bit much- Ill take it ;)

Just left the Commissary on Ft. Carson (only military ID card bearers admitted). Its very clean and well stocked with the exception of the chicken. They just had the MOTHER of all chicken sales with 10lbs bagged leg quarters ringing up at .99 ! Stocked up for those everybodys coming to my house summer bbqs. Covid-19 precautions are in effect with ✋ washing stations located outside, MANDANTORY face masks (bring your own) for patrons as well as temperature checks BEFORE you are allowed entrance. A VERY safe shopping experience. Thats the way to serve and protect Americas heroes and their families!

Roman was our cashier and acted as if he were God. Buddy relax you are scanning groceries! Thankful that’s the last time we are shopping there! Wouldn’t want to deal with that BS again!
