Purchased a 2004 Grand Prix from Harvey Auto in 2008 with 80,000 miles on it. Car ran great until I made the mistake of parking it for one year. Still ended up with well over 205,000 miles on a car that was priced great. Great staff, willing to work with you to find the car that meets your needs rather than trying to push a vehicle they need to sell. I will continue to buy all of my used cars from Harvey Auto Sales, and I live in Jackson! Its worth the drive people.

Tony was a pleasure to work with. He showed us the cars we were interested in and answered all questions we had about them.It was nice to finally deal with an honest salesperson that was more concerned that we got the right car instead of making a sale.

Awesome car buying experience! I purchased a car for my daughter. They had amazing deal on a 2006 Jeep Commander. It was the lowest price on the internet (within 200 miles). I wasnt real excited about driving to Flint but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I called them and they held the vehicle for me until I drove up there. They have great prices and a really nice salesman name Dan. I really liked the fact that the owners are there too. It made me feel more comfortable. I am retired Army so I went to Harvey Auto Sales because this place is owned by an Air Force Veteran. I am happy I did. They provide Carfax and a warranty. I was surprised that a Family owned, smaller car lot would provide those benefits. I am looking to forward to purchasing a truck from them in the very near future! I would definitely refer them to everyone.

Anyone looking for a good used vehicle we highly recommend Harvey Auto Sales. We bought a 2005 Ford Expedition about a month ago. First of all, Mr. Harvey was more than willing to negotiate as best as he could on the price. Even though we bought the vehicle as is, when we found it to have some minor electrical problems, Mr. Harvey immediately had us take it in for repair at no cost to us. Everyone of his staff are all very friendly and knowledgable. We are very excited and happy with our truck. We highly recommend Harveys Auto Sales. We expect this truck will last us many years, but if it doesnt, or if we need a second vehicle we will definately buy from them again.

I purchased a vehicle from Harveys February 21, 2015. After test driving the vehicle we decided that it was perfect for us. The asking price was way too much however, we noticed the wheel bearing was growling, easy fix. I work at an auto mechanic shop so I took the car in to get the wheel bearing done, after my mechanic looked everything over. I needed intake gaskets and tie rods and a body control module, all of the work that is needed plus parts is about $1,000 worth of work. Not to mention on the sales sign they offer car fax, I asked about the car fax while at the dealership and got a response of we dont have it. Come to find out my car was in a head on crash, and is missing several nuts and bolts to hold the front end together. Now ten days later my temp plate has expired and after telling the salesmen I would come pick up my plate, I still DO NOT have it and they dont know where it is. I am absolutely floored this was the worst experience Ive had ever buying a car.

I wanted a 2008 Yaris…my daughter had one and it was perfect for me, but I couldn’t get her to cut loose of it. Harvey has one in stock and it was priced the same as one in Ann Arbor that had 100K more miles on it. I had read a bad review on this company, and my experience was nothing but good. They gave me all the time I needed to check it out and they permitted me to take it for a spin alone. One part stood out as quite nice. The professional detailer came over when I was looking at the car and he sincerely expressed his positive impression of the car. The entire experience was NOTHING like the used car dealers I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with in the past. I’ve had the beast over four months and it has been rock solid. And...the place is owned by a Veteran.

The sales guys were very nice, quite likeable at the start. I thought I was going to have a good experience. I really hoped I would, because I liked the vehicle I was interested in. But I kept flip-flopping back and forth between feelings of this place feels slimy and this place is alright.SLIMY: Right away, they let me test drive the car I was looking at. BUT it stalled at the first stoplight, and almost stalled a few times after.ALRIGHT: When I returned and told them they seemed genuinely surprised, and they apologized, stating they just got the car in the night before didnt know much about it yet.SLIMY: I asked them about trading in my car, and they gave me a low-ball offer. $500 behind the other dealerships I spoke to. AND their pricing was very high for such an older, high-mileage car.ALRIGHT: I asked them if I could come back and take it to a trusted mechanic friend of mine the next day, and they were very chill about it.SLIMY: The one guy left for a moment to tell his boss to go look at my car, and then as soon as he came in, he magically got a call from someone interested in my car, and started talking to this so-called customer on the phone in front of me at his desk. Gee. Wow. What a coincidence. My family was in sales for years, and I was quite familiar with this trick, so instead I started laughing. When he was taking down the number I pulled my phone out and was hoping hed say it out loud so I could call that number back. Alas, he didnt. Total BS.ALRIGHT: He said he was willing to work with the price if my mechanic found any issues the next day.SLIMY: He tried to convince me to consider buying because no codes were thrown and no service lights were on, and when I told him that I was well aware that unhooking the battery would reset the code, his face got red.ALRIGHT: The next day I came back and drove it again. The body looked nice and the inside was very clean. I was still impressed with the car.SLIMY: It kept stalling during the 2nd test drive, though they stated they didnt see any issues.ALRIGHT: They were totally cool about letting me take it to my mechanic to look it over, even though it was 30 minutes away and would be gone a few hours.SLIMY: As soon as my mechanic lifted it up and started checking things....PIECES STARTED FALLING OFF THE CAR. My mechanic started pointing out the half-@$$ fixes that were done on this car to cover crap up. Bent valves (looks like the previous timing belt had blown), missing cotter pins on newly replaced tie rod ends, totally rusted out suspension and steering parts everywhere, very off-balance tires (some wheels had too many weights, some didnt have any!). Basically, within a matter of months, Id have spent nearly $3000-4000 more in parts just to keep it together. So there were two options: either they were totally fine not knowing the true quality of their car, or they knew and were totally fine letting me drive away in it.ALRIGHT: He was very apologetic, and Im giving him the benefit of the doubt and trusting that he didnt know what all was wrong with it (said it was a repo they got at an auction).SUMMARY: I really wanted to have a good experience here. And for a few times, I thought I was. I think if the car were good to begin with, the experience would have been much better. But their annoying novice sales tactics, and willingness to send me off in a death-trap made me never want their business.IN CONCLUSION: If you go there, get a trusted mechanic to look at the car you want before you buy it. Dont trust theirs.

First let me say that I wish I had done my homework on Harveys before I bought my vehicle because I see a previous review that had the exact same experience that Ive had. I went to Harveys in Flint from Warren. I saw there sale for my Chevy Blazer on AutoTrader. It looked good so we drove the hour and twenty minutes it took us to get there. I had a good vibe about the lady at the front (cant remember her name, if she ever gave it) so I figured with the atmosphere (owner kids playing and behaving) they understood the trouble people go through to have a reliable vehicle that you can feel good about. My husband found a couple of issues with the vehicle for which the lady brought down the price of the car. I was grateful and we seemed to have a good mutual respect going on. We even joked and swapped stories. But it was all to get rid of this horrible vehicle. After signing the ownership for the vehicle,1 hour and 5 minutes later, on the way home we were calling a tow truck on the outside shoulder of I-75 heading south. We had to come out of pocket 40 because the warranty only covered 5 miles worth of towing. REALLY?!? well we had to get the car back home right? That night I called Harveys and left a message they called me back at approx. 9:45 am. a few minutes before they were due to open. Im thinking to myself that these people are going to at least offer to fix any problems. So when I told him I didnt have a way to bring the truck back because it was in front of my house I was asked why would you bring it back. He said that the matter was probably due to the tank being empty. I told him that we attempted to fill the tank up last night when we left and only got $3.09 worth into the tank, indicating that it was full. One of the issues that the lady said might be wrong with the car is that the gauge may not work (taking down the price another $100 dollars). We even joked that if the gauge wasnt indeed broken that (the ladys suggestion) I would send her the $100 in the mail.We opted to get the gauge fixed (couldnt be that expensive right? wrong). But apparently the guy was so adamant that we needed gas in the car I had to ask why he thought so. Given that all the signs indicated that it was an alternator or fuel pump or a dead battery. He claimed that the vent on some sort of gas valve wouldnt let the gas in at a fast rate that we had to get a gas can to fill the tank(So I cant just fill up my tank and go I have to feed my car like a baby???). THAT WOULDVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW LAST NIGHT BEFORE WE SIGNED!!!! Thats a major inconvenience, AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!! My husband SPECIFICALLY asked if there were any issues with the car that we should know about so that we could make an informed decision. The guy and his sidekick shrugged, laughed and stated they dont know much about the cars. REALLY?!? This vehicle (by the pictures) seemed to be in your care for at least 6 months...and you STILL know nothing about the car but are SO adamant that you know the car needs gas....HMMMMMM, uh yeah right. He said I couldnt return the car and sure enough I looked it up. Michigan has no used vehicle lemon laws. So we just special ordered a fuel goose neck for the Blazer for $89 (including shipping). Total spent on this vehicle so far $129...and that is only if Harveys suggestion about the vent issue is actually correct. So my advice....if you want a vehicle skip this dealer. You dont have to take my word for it. But this has been MY experience.
