They do good work here, but I would only recommend bringing in a domestic vehicle. Throwout bearing went bad in my Cobalt SS so I had them replace the clutch and flywheel. Let me supply my own parts and had an acceptable price. Manager gave me a hard time about an intermittent starting problem that I didnt have money to fix at the time. Could definitely be more friendly.Also brought in a Mitsubishi Eclipse for inspection that they had a heavy bias against and said was garbage - car lasted me for years without any issues. Would give 3.5 overall. Probably one of the better places in the area. Former KU student.

Went early - was in & out. Helpful & knowledgeable.

Members of staff are rude, contemptuous, and just down right nasty at times. I was told the work would be 2 days and they refused to release my vehicle until they took another day to replace my manifold which was supposed to be a 1 day job, turned out to be another day. And of course this is all after a 2500.00 possible quote. Will update after I get the final bill. All I can say is take your vehicle else where

Rude, mouthy manager. Incompetent mechanics. I specifically asked to have my rear suspension looked at.They tell me its okay (may find a problem when they align rear) but the front end needs parts. I reluctantly okay the repairs.. when I get a call its to tell me that its all done, but that they noticed a broken shackle bolt on the rear when they were done. Really. Isnt that why I was here, to fix the rear issues. Manual Trans,, no issues ever, totally gone 75 miles after leaving this place. Clutch is destroyed. Im broke and original issue is still there.

I have had service from Shelton previously and put up with the attitude from the people that work at the counter, because I heard the quality of service is good. I called this morning about getting a service done on my car and the man that answered the phone was very rude. It felt like I was irritating him just by calling. It might be a good idea if he didnt work with people, or get some counseling or empathy/ communications classes. We all have bad days and I understand that, but people are just trying to be patrons to your business. You shouldnt expect us to know everything; thats why we turn to you!!!! If you dont care about that; I feel so sorry for you.

If you have any car trouble whatsoever, then make sure you bring it to Shelton Automotive! This was my first time coming in and Im blown away. I was a little hesitant at first because trusting someone with your car can make you uneasy. After I received a text that my ride was completed, I was ecstatic. It was done in a timely fashion, the price was cheaper than what other companies wanted to charge me for this job and the mechanics knew exactly what they were doing. Rude rude rude and now banned

Very Very Rude, the older guy and mechanic was nice in trying to assist. The lady at the desk has a horrible attitude, If you are to busy to do another car then say that, dont walk around slamming papers down. I had problem with window, I came to get it fix, but they were so busy the offer was to get the window up and then bring it back. The owner walks over and says if they get the window to go up they have to do all this work and they may as well fix it and its gonna cost money to do that. I brought my car in to pay money to get the window fixed they offered to just get the window up either way I expected to pay something. The entire experience was unprofessional from the time I walked in, they talked to and treated me as if I was bothering them or seeking something for nothing. I dont appreciate being spoken to as if I was a child, and they laughed when they finally decided they would do it and I declined. You cant treat someone bad and then think they want you to fix something. I dont trust them, they are not the only repair shop.

Warning I repeat. Warning ... never take your car here .. especially if its a sports car.. went in for a simple tire balance.. after completing tire balance the mechanic started my car revving the motor as he backed out with all the other mechanics screamed do a burn out light up the tires .. he started to do it but stalled out the engine .. then the office manager had to run out and yell at him to stop.. very unprofessional.. and now something is rubbing so bad Ill need to trailer it to get fixed... never I repeat never go there and never have any work done on your vehicle if you value it Because they dont!!!!

Went here for oil change. I work at Hurley, left work and went straight there. I got there at like 435. They didnt close till 6, guy rudely tells me come back at 9 in morning. we are closing early. I will never go back.

Mechanics are good. Person who answers the phone (probably the store owner) sucks! I was going for the cheap oil changes. But now Im done giving them my business. This guy is extremely rude over the phone and in person.

Took my 2011 fusion in for possible heater core issues flushed the system through crisis averted for a lot less than what i expected great customer service very much appreciated. Have since had a full synthetic oil change another great experience.

I dropped not one but 2 cars off to get inspected one of which is not even mine and the guy at the desk was extremely rude he said here goes someone who just wants a cheat sheet Im sick of people like this first off its $50 to get a diagnosis from you guys second I stated that the first car is not mine and that I was going to bring my car back after I pick my wife up I told them that I was recommended by multiple people but thats not how you treat nor talk to people that even if they dont get the work done they are still paying for a service you provide . At this point I dont care how good you fix cars Ill take mine to another repair shop you cant think your shop has the only qualified mechanics my experience was horrible and I wouldnt recommend anyone to go there to be treated like this

Good Service but Prices are High

I have never in my life received such horrible customer service. They made a mistake and guy behind counter tried to make it my fault. Rude using the F word in front of customers. And continues to talk about me to his guys while Im standing here and can hear him. Dont feel at all safe about driving my car now.

I went back here to get a 2nd auto quote & the lady gave me problems then after the boss came around he tells me its $40 just to write an estimate. I mentioned to him that the last time i came he didnt say anything about a charge NOR did he say i needed to bring $40 for an estimate, his response was, i was just being nice to you last time. They are not informational at all therefore i will NEVER recommend nor go back to this place.

Called this shop looking for an update on a vehicle that was being serviced there, immediately the answer came off as rude and snobby.. Well, the cars got 209k on it and I guess we could have put it back together with coat hangers or weld it up, your choice. Lol. I know the car has high miles! Any question asked, I felt as if it must be a burden to answer! I wasnt making accusations and was totally willing to pay whatever the bill was, which it was paid for. All I wanted to know was what happened to the car and what it needed for repair! Not an attitude problem! Ive got a lot of friends in flint and its not surprising to me Ive never heard of this repair shop thanks to the horrible customer service.

Was calling to price out electrical issue in my car. I know i wouldnt get the exact price but when i say rude i mean rude. The man got really unprofessional about me wanting to know how much it mighy be. Like you never have done this job so you do know how much it could cost??. He goes on to tell me it could be from 40 to 82.50 then say we are on the phone how should he know and tell me. Like you know places charge fees just to look at you car right?? You could tell me that but not what labor is. But he did tell me to drop my car off at 8am and they will work it in and then tell me how much it cost. Really?? I dont know they man was so rude i haf to tell him have a blessed day and hang up to not snap on him for being rude. I heard they do good work so i guess if your in person you will be fine.

I got a wrong diagnostic when I went there last time, the mechanic said I had 2 plugged up catalytic converters and they tried to charge me $2000. only 1 was actually plugged up after I had done the work myself.
