Today I went to see if I could get them adjusted and a different manager was there (Dan) adjusted my headlights and helped me with the heat in my car. Heading home to Minnesota from Michigan and lost heat in my car. Pulled off the freeway and Tuffys was at the exit. They were the absolute nicest and most helpful people you could ask for! They pulled my vehicle right in, and Dale checked the car over completely and it ended up not being the radiator, thank goodness!!!! This was not my first visit to Tuffy Miller Rd and wont be the last. When I drop off a vehicle there for service they have taken my information quickly, called with a diagnosis and estimate, and have had all fixes repaired the same day without extra charges. Their work is guaranteed and I feel I can count on them for honest work. Last year I brought a vehicle in for a fix before a cross country road trip, they informed of an unrelated alternator issue that if not had been addressed, I very well may have been stranded in the middle of nowhere. I thank you Tuffy for your reliable work and for keeping my familys cars safe.

Expensive but good service

Visited on May 20, 2015Took my car in to get the stabilizer bar repaired. Ordered one and even though they were sent the wrong part, they reordered it and handled the issue, instead of making it my issue. Love that! They also gave me an estimate on other repairs and told me about a deal on how to get those repairs cheaper than their regular price . **BONUS**! Their mechanics are knowledgeable and do a really good job. They even took me home when the process of getting the part was taking longer than what they had said. Their staff is friendly and honest, and that will keep me coming back again and again.

I came into Tuffy because I thought my wheel was going to fall off of my car. One of the techs looked at it and confirmed that all I had to do was hit one pothold and more than likely my tire would be off. They were able to get me in and have my car done within a couple of hours. The staff are friendly and the work was accurate, my car rides fine, I feel safe to drive my children around. I think this will be my go to auto center :)

I had a fantastic experience at the Miller Rd. Tuffy. John handled my situation and started by arranging to have my car towed at a very reasonable price. I needed my car back that same day and he promised to do everything he could. John delivered and I had my car back in a few hours. AND with the amount of work it took to fix my car (I needed my starter replaced) the price was extremely reasonable!!

I took my car to Tuffy in Flint 3 weeks ago and had a great experience. The staff was helpful and even brought me out in to the shop to show me exactly what was going on under my car. They tell you what you need and dont try to get you to buy stuff that is not necessary. I will definitely be bringing my car back when needed!

I have been taking my vehicles to Tuffy for over 15 years. I have always received excellent service. They take the time to review my cars problem(s) and provide a detailed breakdown of parts and labor. They have a great record of open communication. If there is an unexpected problem, they have notified me prior to proceeding with the work. Always sociable yet professional. I highly recommend them for a quality job and experience.

I went in for a wheel alignment and came out having much more work done than I had anticipated. However, I am glad the work was done so my car will operate safely. Everyone was very helpful in explaining everything to me and the work was completed the same day.

Not sure why I was able to get a free diagnostic a while back and then when I send my son there all of a sudden he will need to pay a fee and leave his car there for several hours because they are too busy. Then they said it might be the alternator, they suggested he pay $328.00 to put in an alternator and just see if that fixes the problem...

Came here to get my exhaust fixed. Charged me $126 a few days later had the same problem. I came back and they made me sit in the lobby while they lifted my car and called me in the garage to tell me it had broke in another spot the pipe that leads to the muffler looked like it was detached and pushed up. They tried to tell me I hit a pothole but I didnt because I avoid potholes at all cost. The man that worked on my car had a look of guilt when I started asking logical questions and didnt sit right with me. They tried to charge me $110 the second time. Seems real shady to me dont waste your money here!!

My family has been taking our vehicles here for years (at one point, we had 4 vehicles wed take here to get serviced). Always friendly, willing to work with you, fair prices. You really cant go wrong! As long as theyre open, well bring our cars in for every need.

The 5 star reviews here are in exchange for free oil changes. Dont base your visit on the quantity of them. This place is run-of-the-mill as far as national chain auto repair shops go. I was quoted 300 dollars for a new muffler, labor not included. I had it done elsewhere for 180 including parts and labor. Id advise readers to shop around.

Awesome people. Very helpful. I took in shocks for my van just asked them to break the bolts lose so i could replace them. They charge fourty to replace shocks if you bring the part. I only had 25 the replaced them for that. Very awesome.

I had a new muffler put on in 1998 on my 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport, and lasted all the way to 2012. Good service and good value . Also did a oil change for me and checked all my car for a trip. Very good job . JOHN

Was in a bind to get new rims and tires on and no other places would even try and tuffy had it done and good to go in less than 30min. Great service

Called early in the day to get a quote to have a bushing pressed in a control arm which was a fair price and told to come in whenever. Went up two hours before closing with my control arm and bushing and was told that they didnt have time. For those dont know this takes a total of two-five minutes to do, there was plenty of time. Especially when you have two people sitting in the office joking around. I would not recommend this Tuffy.

The Flint Tuffy Team has always been very helpful with all of my auto needs. They always get me in right away from simple oil changes to more complex issues. I went in for an oil change and the staff was very nice. They put air in my tires as well, I will definitely be going back.

This place takes advantage of women who come in with car troubles. I went to get an alignment, but they told me my tie rods were terrible and could snap at any moment and that I also needed control arms. I thought that was weird because I just got my control arms repaired a year ago. I couldnt afford the quote total (because I had money for an alignment) so I asked if they could just repair the tie rods since they could snap at any moment and the guy told me no, because they just HAVE to do it all at once. I thought that was ridiculous. If its so unsafe to drive my car why wouldnt you repair the main part of the issue. Complete bull, so I took it to Mr. Transmission and got a diagnosis and there was nothing wrong with my control arms or tie rods. They really tried to get over on me and I DO NOT APPRECIATE IT. I will never come back for anything.

I took the church van in for service and the technician showed me where there were repairs made to the exhaust in two or more places. That let me know that it was time to get it done right. Now we have a new exhaust system and a life time guarantee. We dont have to worry about that anymore

I made a mistake of ignoring the reviews. These guys were the closest shop I could find. They charged me triple the price for a part that cost $30 bucks. I also was charged almost $200 dollars for a job that takes under 45 minutes to do. I also left with the engine light on so they obviously didn’t care at least do an inspection. I’ll avoid tuffy shops at all cost. Don & John are the name of the two guys. I’ve warned you.

Good place to get your car fixed

Tuffy on miller road was fast and easy. we had a good expierence. The price of the battery was fine but labor was a tiny bit more than we thought it would. The responce time was great.

I went to these guys to get a power steering pump changed, said t would cost $240 out the door. They called me about a hour later and said they couldn’t get some bolts off and if they break them they’re going to charge me another $900 because of the “frame” they would be breaking. So I decided to take my truck up to muffler man on Corunna rd, they charged me $280 and also said they had no idea what the hell tuffy was talking about and how they got the idea of adding on another $900 when the guys at muffler man did the same exact thing, broke the bolts and fixed without charging me extra. MUFFER MAN FOR THE WIN!!! They will never steer you wrong Very honest people. Screw tuffy

This place sucks, they dont know how warranties work. I asked for a external transmission filter to be installed and they gave me crap about a warrantee. I said I would sign a paper that states I accept responsibility. Still didnt want to do it. Their excuse is there must be a reason why it is not i there from the factory. Yeah GM is to cheap to put one on. Im an engineer that works on these transmission all the time and know what they need and they need a better filter and new fluid( stock fluid is crap and full of impurities). Stay away and go to a place with more knowledge about cars.

I had a vibration and hum at speeds over 25-30mph. They correctly diagnosed the problem as a wheel bearing. They were able to fix it that day while I waited. They kept the coffee going and were very friendly to everyone who came in!! The hum and vibrations are gone and my car drives like it used to!

They do good work

2018: and I still only come to this place! Had to have rotors, breaks, and some other stuff done. Fair pricing, used my tuft credit card for 6 months same as cash. Almost 6 years later, I trust only these guys with my car.6/29/14: Again Tuffy on Miller comes through. Another costly job done on my 02 honda crv due to the incompetence of the Patsy Lou on Corruna. The guys at Tuffy did everything they could to keep the price down and my car is running great now thanks to them. If Tuffy on Miller does it, I go there and nowhere else.9/27/13: These guys are fairly priced for the good work they do. I have been here a couple times now and when quoted on a job previously I even checked with a few mechanic friends just to double check I wasnt getting had like some of the places I tried before, and even they said they were pretty fairly priced, so I stick with these guys. This time around the job on my fiances car was expensive due to what was damaged and the type of car it was (it was definitely a fair price though) and would take a while so they were nice enough to let him use their van so he could go to work in the morning. I trust this specific store and current management with any issues my car has and will continue to go here and refer others to them.

Car trouble is never a good time, especially when you feel like you cant trust the garage you go to. This was not the case at the Miller Rd Tuffys. This was my first time using their services and I was very impressed. Bryan the manager was my contact in person and on the phone. He and the mechanics were extremely thorough with their inspection and relaying what was wrong to me. I didnt feel like they were overcharging me or throwing me for a loop. My car had stumped another shop in Flint before I took it to Tuffys. I was very relieved they were able to fix it. They went above and beyond to figure out the problem and I will recommend them to everybody needing mechanical work. Excellent customer service! Super knowledgeable! Definitely recommend them! My truck broke down. I am from out of town. I goggle a car repair shop and tuffy came up first. I check the reviews and decide to give them a try. My truck needed a netural safety switch. I knew what my truck needed I let them know that. The part cost 110.00 dollars. Auto zone was 38.00 dollars. Try them again when my truck broke down again. They charge me 570.00 dollars for a fuel pump. Which could have bought it for 268.00 dollars at auto zone. This place is a RIP off. You have been warn.

First to Hahseem, who gave the 1 star, I think you are referring to Midas down the street if you drove down to McDonalds because this place is directly across the street from it.I have had work done here on both of my BMWs, an X5 and 325ci convertible. These guys are excellent and very fair. Once they took me to my office while my car was serviced. The manager is personable with customers and the lobby is clean, huge flat panel TV and nice fresh hot coffee. I just wish the could handle all the repairs may have on my vehicles down the road... suspension, brakes, exhuast you can not go wrong.

I have received the excellent service of TUFFY employees--immediate service and timely manner. Their service center is full of many knowledgeable. My experience was very relaxed and comfortable, I feel that this is the most honest business to have my car taken to and have good care. When I was waiting, the manger told me that I could go ahead and take his truck, I told him no, that is ok, he told me that he would call when my car was done. They are honest and friendly.I feel very comfortable with the atmosphere. I think I had a good expierence in TUFFY.

I got service from another auto body shop and they charged me an arm and a legg for services that i didnt need. When I showed the machanic my papers he was ouragged and said they could help me. They made me feel comfortable and took care of me and my car in a timely fashion. I was pleased with their cusomer service and the work that they did on my car.

Personally I dont care for the service I had a burst brake line and asked them only to fix the burst brake line they tried to tell me there was more wrong with my car then what was actually wrong they refuse to fix only the one brake line so I took my service elsewhere and ended up doing it myself

I went to Tuffy because I had a leak coming from underneath my vehicle. It turns out I needed a new radiator. The mechanic began to work on my immediately. He did have to wait for parts to arrive but the manager was kind enough to give me a ride home so that I didnt have to sit and wait while the vehicle was being repaired. So far I have not experienced any further complications regarding any leaks.

BE WARNED!!!!!!!!! I paid my car to be fixed to have the vvt, solenoids fixed an an oil change done. Right after leaving the check engine light came on, they said they had no ideal and we would need to bring it back so they can spend a few hours looking at, then he said maybe it’s my timing chain, with my oil change all fluids should be topped off, tiers checked and rotated and air filter, non of that was done, and when they pulled my car around it had a flat tire.This place is doing nothing but ripping people
