Usually this is an okay enough store, but be warned - dont approach the wrong entrance by mistake! Today I committed this grave sin and was angrily informed by an employee who was waiting inside the entrance to the Market Grille (literally - she reached the door handle at the same time as me) that they were closed and aggressively commanded me to use the other door. It was an interesting strategy, considering there are a few worthy competitors within walking distance who dont yell at their customers when they get confused.

Staff was not that nice. Kind of dry like they really didnt wanna help. The one on east Washington is way nicer.

Great place to shop - both hot, fresh and ready to eat... or the basic groceries with competitive prices and super specials. The restaurant/ bar is a best kept secret for great food and atmosphere. And the store itself a quick and efficient experience with all the new self-checkouts. Friendly and happy staffing - must be a fun place to work as well.

Well stocked. Has both high quality and budget food. Has prepared food. Everything you could need in a grocery store.

My son loves that they have carts that look like cars. And they have dif color which if you have kids you know can be very important. I love these huge cheese selection. Customer service is great. I love shopping here

Grocery pick up is terrible. Waited almost an hour. After I got out and went in to ask for an update they magically had my order ready and started loading immediately. During a pandemic where curbside pick ups are the safest thing to do it should be a priority to have a proper system established.

Online orders are consistently slow and rarely ready for the time you schedule for pick-up. Employees dont seem to know what is going on beyond the wrong information that they are unfortunately given. The shoppers are loath to ask you about acceptable substitutions favoring the option to cancel outright. Some employees clearly dont want to be here and dont even have a customer service voice when dealing with customers about a delay.

Had two items of my purchase ring up wrong. Bought a 12 pack: Half and Half, black tea with lemonade, made by Liptons and got charged the price for the item made under the Arnold Palmer logo. $ 7.99 instead $ 5.49 as advertised on the shelf. SALES price is not always the price you get charged at the register.Learned to check my receipt now everytime immediately.

Dropped in to grab some produce, always found good produce at Hy-Vee. If you are lucky enough to stop when one of thier sales are on the savings are phenomenal

WOW!!Visited 3 years ago and this is one of the nicest grocery stores I have ever been in. I was not expecting a restaurant, or a deli the entire depth of the store!!We ordered 5 different deli salads to try since we were tired of hotel food.

Most hyvee stores are the same. It does seem that hyvees in Madison dont offer as many products as festival foods.

Good Sunday brunch, including cook to order pancakes, shrimp cocktail, and Chinese buffet.Update 01/12/2020 - Brunch is now terrible. Food is cold, service is awful, and they dont even have prime rib any more.

Best grocery (and best Hy-Vee) in the greater Madison area, hands down. Fresh produce with lots of organic options, amazing pre-mades and hot food, the butcher counter.. the brats! Never go anywhere else.

Large with lots of selection. They were out of my brand of peanut butter but hardly worth losing a star over. If anyone sees this please stock more Smuckers Natural creamy peanut butter.

The staff here is really something else. They act like you the customer are in the way! You cannot get around this place without an employee coming in hot around a corner almost decking you. You will be literally dodging the staff left and right. They will be in the way and give you dirty looks. It’s unreal! You shouldn’t have to train these people basic common sense and manners. But I highly suggest you start.

Used to have great prices and great options on sushi. Now theres only 3 types ever available and the new no special orders rule put in place will ensure I go elsewhere. Used to do my shopping at the same time, but now I have no excuse to use your store.

For grocery pickup, if youve been waiting for 5+ minutes without seeing an employee, it might be worth giving the store a call. Apparently it isnt always staffed.I learned this after waiting ~40 minutes without seeing any staff at the pickup building. I guess someone in the store noticed the 14+ cars (4 in front of me) waiting at pickup and sent some people over.Also heads up, if you get sick of waiting and want to leave, there isnt necessarily going to be a way out if people are in front of and behind you. In my case I wouldve had to jump a curb and possibly hit a bollard to get out.

The Fitchburg Hy-Vee electric vehicle chargers never work. I often shop at Hy-Vee grocery stores because they have good selection and have electric vehicle charging in most of their locations in Wisconsin, Iowa and Kansas. These chargers never work and even when informing the front desk, the management does not seem to care about supporting this amenity to customers. I used to thank the front desk for offering the chargers to customers, Ive definitely been coasting north from Iowa and been disappointed that the chargers are not working.My last visit for produce and snacks was disappointing with high prices of unripe or moldy berries and limited stock on several grocery items. Ill definitely stop back but they dont seem to be the one-stop grocery store on the Southside of Madison.

The meat department service was absolutely top notch. the antonio kid was very friendly and practiced exceptional food safety. nothing was overpriced and he was very good at his job. 5 stars!

Great spot to shop. No store beats Woodmans East imo, but Hy-vee is my close second. Both places have cool butchers/meat department. Gotta get the Hy-vee apple wood bacon and fresh baked grains of the earth bread on the regular.

Great selection, great people working there. even the young employees seem to know what they are doing and all are willing to help a customer. We run, well organized and clean. That says a lot.

Usually way overpriced for most items and quality is not that much better than other stores.The place is always very clean and organized which is great during these times.Half-off sushi on Wednesday is usually a good idea. They do run out quickly of the good rolls but their spicy tuna is a stable and its great (a little too spicy)

Good prices and well stocked with items you wish to purchase. Store has a pharmacy and good service where you are also be notified when prescription can be picked up if ordered before hand.

I took my brother here looking for a late night snack at 2 in the morning last week. This is a super fancy and well organized store. You could tell its been maintained really well. And the staff was super nice. Even though they were light staffed on 3rd shift they took time to help out my brother and I. We had a good time here. Lots of great deli and bakery items here!

My mom had to go to her dental cleaning alone, first time since Covid. The staff was great and totally put her at ease. I was able to communicate with the doctor and hygienist at the end of the appointment. Great job keeping everyone safe and getting things done at the same time!

I can never seem to find things in this store. I find myself walking around in circles because things just seem to be out of place.

Nice place, but the coffee cake They sold me was sorely lacking. More like a yellow cake with strusel toppings.I happen to use their bakery to guage the measure of a grocery store. They missed, but it looks like they try pretty hard elsewhere.

The staff here was SO understanding and I VERY MUCH appreciated their behavior after I had an accident in my pants. While I made such a mess that frustration would be understandable, they did not show ANY frustration throughout the process of cleaning the floor, shopping cart, teddy graham boxes, little Debbie products, and my friends and family of this disgraceful mess that I have become. I LOVE HY-VEE!

I needed duck fat and couldnt find it. When I asked to double check in case I missed it, the staff laughed at me. I understand grocery stores dont carry everything, but laughing and making fun of me because I asked a question is very unprofessional. If you dont have to communicate with the staff, then this place is adequate.

I buy all my groceries here. Love the order online with curbside pick up (free with $30+ purchase). Online also allows you to personalize some substitutions too.

It is disappointing that Hy-Vee advertises itself as a ‘safe’ location for those concerned about Covid 19, such as myself, being a type 1 diabetic, and going to a store late at night to avoid crowds, and seeing customers walking around without masks. Furthermore, when I voiced my concern to an employee, the employee said, “there’s nothing we can do about it.” I suppose many of the thousands of people who are currently dying in hospitals around America from Covid 19 are hearing the same pithy sentiment. I am now telling my friends and family about Hy-Vee’s lack of dedication to public health, and I suspect they will tell those they love and care about as well. One would think that Hy-Vee’s success would allow for a security guard on payroll, like many grocery stores in the area. Guess we will all be shopping at them instead.

Terrible! Too many people not staying six feet away from eachother. Crowded aisles everywhere. I know shelves have to be stocked, but rude employees with their stocking carts running into you and not moving so you can grab something from the shelf, and then giving you a stink eye look. Hey, Im the customer. Will go back to Millers or festival in Verona.

I ordered I cake last week in the bakery. Come to pick up my order today and the same lady who wrote down this order took my information said she had no order. Are you serious. She offered to make a cake if I had 20 minutes to spare.. 🤔😤🤯🤬 NO. This is the second time I’ve had bad experience with this bakery at this location.Management need to come with a better plan when taking orders. Uses a slip of paper and then loosing my order or just throwing it away unprofessional.Now where to get a football themed cake

Its a grocery store. I appreciate the great selection however the prices can be high. Also a fantastic alcohol department. Id recommend grabbingng odds and ends here then going to Aldi.

This review is from a catering/floral point of view as we hired Hyvee to do our catering/dessert/flowers for our wedding.In terms of the meal- it was great. Our guests loved it and it was just what we asked for.The desserts, not so much. We ordered cupcakes and cookies which were great. But, we also ordered 2 pans of brownies that were absolutely CAKED with powdered sugar, so much so they were almost unrecognizable. Some guests thought it was chocolate cake with frosting there was so much powdered sugar, they were barely even touched.In terms of floral; the greenery we ordered, the corsages, the boutineers, and centerpieces were great. What wasn’t great were the colors in my bridesmaid bouquet that were nothing I asked for or discussed with Scott, the floral manager, as we had met with him 2x prior to the day. We pulled out the incorrect flowers and made it work.My bridesmaid bouquests were the most disapppinting, they were the complete wrong colors and didn’t match any of my other flowers at all. It was almost as if the wrong flowers were delivered. We ended up making due with some extra greenery and a guest stopping to buy the correct colored flowers quick because we were short on time once we found the bouquets.We were refunded for most of what we were not happy with, but we would of 100% preferred we received what we ordered and paid for to begin with. It’s upsetting to not receive what you ask for the day of your wedding. But it’s even worse looking back at pictures and wishing I had the bouquets/desserts/cake I discussed and paid for. If I had to do it again I’d pay the extra $ to ensure things were done right.

Ive been doing pick up during the pandemic. Pick up is very convenient and we appreciate the store employees. Typically we have a good experience but this time we were missing a couple items and the produce wasnt what I would pick.

You need to shop w/awareness. Sale prices r good an paying attention will make your experience positive. Some things r higher an you get gas points that make it worth while. Some adds r good one day some 2 other days. It is confusing. Make a list with what days to earn gas points an what items to purchase.

I felt like everyone was looking down at me. It was expensive. But they had good curry.
