Dan and the Capitol City Auto team arent just great mechanics, they are honest about what actually needs to be fixed. I been going to them for probably almost 20 years. I always know when I take my vehicles to them it will be fixed right.

Dan at Capitol City goes above and beyond for his customers. He literally saved me $5300 because he looked into recalls on my car. He did the research and the dealership had to fix it under warranty. I can’t rate them high enough for their service and quality of work!!!

The best place to take your car to in the Madison area. Honest, fair prices and speedy repairs. They have fixed my car when other places have messed it up. The only tip I have is to call at least a week in advance because it takes a little while to get your car in.

Dan, was able to tell from a video on my cell phone what my problem was from the sound. Made an appointment for a few days later. And they had the problem fixed in a couple of hours. They have always been great to work with and reasonably priced. Better than taking it to the dealer who wanted to do something completely different.

I’m so happy with my experience here! My normal shop was closed because of the virus and I was really nervous about going anywhere else due to bad experiences with past mechanics. My service light came on and I had to get a major part replaced, but Dan got it done in the same day and even went out of his way to get the right part after the auto parts store initially sent the wrong one. He didn’t try to sell me on any other fixes or run any unnecessary tests. Very honest and reliable, and I plan on returning for all maintenance from now on!

Every time I call I get the owner of the shop Dan. He is always willing to help and has been able to diagnose most things over the phone without seeing the vehicle. They are very good at keeping you informed throughout the process. Up to date facility. Friendly service, and repairs only necessary problems with the car and will not over charge. Fair priced and great people. I wont go anywhere else.

Called Capitol city to enquirer about getting an inherited car in to be looked at. After detailing what I believed needed to be done I was basically told that they did not have time for my car and had no room for a project of that scale. Not sure how brake replacement and diagnosing a few leaks is a large scale project but if that is too much for these guys I certainly will be avoiding them for my other vehicles as well.

Just honest fair service. I asked once if I needed a new part, I was told I was good to go; and, I truly have been now for well over a year.

Bought a 97 Subaru that needed a lot of work (which I knew going in - O2 sensor, brakes, balljoint, A/C, etc.) Capitol City Auto fixed everything for a very fair price. I know enough about cars to know when Im getting ripped off, but this place is great. I will only go to them from now on.Did not push unnecessary repairs, asked what I wanted done, and provided helpful advice.

My last company took all of their vehicles there for work. After trying a bunch of different mechanics in Madison over the years, Cap City Auto is the only place Ill go.

My S4 needed a CV boot replaced. One nearby shop was going to charge me an arm and a leg to replace the entire halfshaft. Capitol City Auto on the other hand did exactly what I asked for and for a price that was better than me spending several hours swearing at the car in the garage. Im pretty sure Ill be going there again.

He only gets the best parts you can buy but yet his prices are so good! Fixed a major problem with my car and has been running great ever since.
