One of the best $5 investments to be had anywhere. Enticing exhibits on so many historical aspects of the greater community. Civil War, WW1, WW2, agriculture, fur trade, farming, civic development, ethnic and religious diversity. Vignettes so tastefully done using some of the original names of local vendors and practitioners. If youre not just a little impressed, you should be.

Missy, Chris and their peeps do amazingly well in recording, presenting and displaying the history of Otter Tail County. Hats off to them during the pandemic for pivoting and doing Facebook posts to keep people informed even if we cant be at the museum in person. Cant wait until they open up again soon! :D

Ive had the pleasure of visiting here a couple times now - the first time, I went with a fairly specific research question in mind. The library staff did their very best, ultimately determining that the info I was looking for did not reside there. It was a case of a definitive no being correct and helpful :)The second time, this week, I got to see the staff in action, utilizing their creativity and resources to continue telling the story of Otter Tail, in the midst of the pandemic. Well done, all of you :)

My family and I have been visiting every time we go up to Minnesota, we love looking at the displays. If you choose, they also let you borrow a clipboard and pencil and give you sheets of paper with images of items in the displays as a fun scavenger hunt that my sister and I love to do! We enjoy looking at the new exhibition each year too, and they have lots of interesting books for sale. Can’t wait for our next visit!!

We had a great time on a rainy day here! One child & adult $5.00 admission well worth the price we spent an hour and a half wondering and looking at everything plenty for children to see there are checklist that they can take from the front desk to explore and find things that are in the museum so they can learn.Otter Tail County Museum has an incredible amount of Native American arrowheads artifacts and beating that should be on display there hidden away in drawers this is a shame but if you take the time and get to pull them open and take a look can also learn about the Minnesota woman that was found and family farm site where the Native American artifacts were found.Lots of Agriculture and antique farm machinery steam engines in vintage store post office Bank railroad to show and learn about the history of the people that developed this area from the Anishinaabe & the Lakota including finlanders, Scandinavians, Mexican, as well many diverse cultures of people who currently live here in Fergus Falls Minnesota it is within a a mile-ish from the intersection of Interstate 94The gift shop has an extremely large amount of locally written books about the history the foods recipes culture Native American history for purchase as well as books and coloring books for interest for children with history and science. T-shirt and knick-knacks as well
