This is my experience & dissatisfaction. Not that it goes toward the U-haul near the Crown Coliseum on Hwy 301, Gillespie st.. The staff was helpful to a point; nonetheless the customer service experience was very poor. I done a reservation one way with a 20 truck & auto transport for my vehicle. The initial staff member when approached was on their personal phone then his phone was placed underneath the counter multitasking listening to me and doing whatever was on their phone at the same moment in which provided an incorrect pickup date after receipt was printed. Another print was produced with the correct date but staff (he) did not announce a script or go over reservation to assure confirmation nor a contact is to be cell phone so a text to confirm anything or problems may arise. This reservation was placed 2 1/2 weeks in advanced. It was also mentioned a 10 X10 unit ( 1 month free 1 way) would be provided but now it is not the case, only when I get to my destination at the end would have to be discussed on the unit not as stated & may have to pay additional charges. I again had to showed up to get more packing materials and not one staffing member went out of their way to check on my reservation to assure their inventory trucks & transports were available a day before to give a great customer service & experience. Now its the end of day on Sunday, June 27, 2021, just 1 day before pickup at my preferred pickup at the U-haul Hwy 301, Gillespie st. for truck & trailer; I get a call on the landline (at home) from a different U-haul facility that I must pickup at 2 different locations: the truck on Bragg Blvd. in Fayetteville, NC, then the trailer an hour away of my time & troubles in Aberdeen North Carolina to pickup & drive back to Fayetteville to finish loading before leaving to my final destination. However, this other staff from another neighborhood location of U-haul was apologetic of the issue & no correction could be made to the fact it was the end of day hours nor was it mentioned at beginning of day so I could make preparations due to this horrific disaster mishap, yet female staff member said It is the closest that there is or are. Theres nothing I can do & it is what it is, transactions will continue as is. You will be charged extra on mileage & there will no discount toward your reservation or given any free mileage for 2 separate locations pickups. Im sorry. And the phone hangs up on the other end (her end), this leaves me upset, very angry, & speechless towards this dissatisfaction & dismay of customer service & experience. I even went to the preferred U-haul location where I reserved them & to my surprise there is a 20 truck plus a car transport trailer available sitting on property. There were other trucks and trailers too with proof of photos to prove availability. This is not a rant nor hate. This is my true truth & experience.

JUST PLAIN RUDE....THE WORST EXPERIENCE. I reserved a 26 foot truck the day before rental. I went to the location and showed two photo forms of ID and had a valid drivers license and visa card. They still would not rent to me and the white customer service rep was very rude!!! They said I had up upload a photo of my drivers license to my phone but my phone could not accept an upload so they would not allow me to rent a truck. Even though I had recently rented from this location many times in the past. I will never use this company again!!!! Wish I could rate 0 star!!!

We decided to stop by this U-Haul location for propane because the other location we usually go to had some issues going on. If it were not so late in the evening we would have went to a different company all together. Ths customer service at this location is terrible and thatsan understatement. Sonya and Erica has to be the worse this company had hired. Their attitude towards paying customers should never be a part of this business model. While Sonya was trying her best to instigate a confrontation is rather unprofessional. Ericas concern was picking up her child which seems to take precedence over her responsibility as a worker. They should both be retrained on customer service etiquette or terminated. Recommend the staff receives training because there is a serious issue with customer service that must be addressed ASA!!

Their services are very poor, they dont check the trucks before they rented again, they give a truck that the lights for a towing didnt work, they told us to call road assistance, we have been waiting for almost 3 hours. This very unprofessional

We had our SUV fitted with hitch and wiring at a UHAUL in Va Beach where we are working. When we picked up our new trailer in Fayetteville, it turned out that all the wiring had been done wrong,which is very dangerous, as we had no brake lights and signal lights were backward, and we are due back in VA Beach in two days. Called this UHAUL store and the older lady was very helpful, said to bring it on in. When we got here, the ypung woman who we dealt with did everything in her power NOT TO HELP US. Didnt show any concern for our issue, and didnt make any special effort to get our issue straightened out this weekend. Plus we have a warranty! She told us to call the Bragg Blvd location. We asked twice if she could just call the store for us, and she kept making excuses as to why she couldnt call. I know this location is not the one who screwed up our wiring, but she could have made at least a small effort to help us out. She came off very arrogant and lazy and was rude and sarcastic as we were leaving.We did call the Bragg Blvd store and they got us in this morning and back out within an hour. If youre in the Fayetteville area, STAY AWAY FROM HERE AND GO TO BRAGG BLVD!!

Terrible customer service. I had an appointment for a hitch to be placed on my vehicle and there was a fair amount of miscommunication and technical issues scheduling the appointment resulting in my boyfriend waiting at the facility for 5 hours. Thats not even my real issue here though. The issue I have is the manager and staffs response to the situation. After I filed a complaint the manager confronted my bf in the waiting room very aggressively. The next day a manager called me and blamed me for not paying attention to instructions she gave me over the phone (which I was never given by any of the 3 people I spoke to). She repeatedly spoke over me and would not let me get a word in. U-Haul warns you that they record all calls and I requested they have her customer service department re-listen to all our interactions.

I came in on Thursday to return my auto transport. I stood at the counter for about twenty minutes waiting to be assisted. Finally the guy that clean and inspects the trucks (when returned )came in from doing his work outside. He walked to the back to get the employee that was supposed to be working inside, walked to the counter and asked if he could assist me. I told him that I needed to turn in my auto transport so that I could unload my truck. I arrived at the store at 6:09 coming from Atlanta GA, knowing that the store closed at 7, I made sure to be there well before closing time to assure that the equipment be taken off. I am now showing an active reservation and dont understand why when I took it back on Thursday evening. The guy assured me he would properly put the information into the computer after taking the auto transport off. I have not received an email for this transaction either. Will be calling this office and customer call in a few hours. It is 4 am or Id be calling right now.

This place will not help even if you only need like two days to pay because of when you get paid. Staff is unfriendly and the manager is very discourteous and rude. If you have storage needs go somewhere else. There are many more and better choices than these people.

The worse experience ever!!! Paid to have my Ubox delivered to my house, uhaul said it will take a week and a half for the Unix’s to be delivered. 3 weeks later still no Ubox’s and no one called to inform me of a delivery date. So I called and was passed around for four hours on hold with still no answers if I could give them a zero star rating I would.

My first experience here was renting a truck and trailer to two my car I made a reservation 4 days prior for 9am on Monday. I fill out all the insurance and drivers license information online so all I have to do is come in and get the truck. I arrive 15min early and the representative tells me have to redo all that information after he asks for my drivers license and i tell him I already filled the online info out he recants and doesnt need to see it. I finish with the gentlemen at the desk at 9:05 and preceed to wait for 25 min for my rental. I finally get it at 9:30. I start driving after about 5min I look at the odometer and realize they gave me the truck so I turn around. It was 9:45 almost an hour past when my reservation started...... good thing I added an extra hour to my rental or I would have been penalized for returning it late. Second experience involves a propane tank fill. I come in with two tanks the lady tells me one tank is expired (She says they are only hydrotested for 10 years stamped clearly in the band it says 12 years) the other tank is 5 years old with slight corrosion on the brass connector. She says she wont fill that one because that corrosion COULD mean that someone is using it to cook meth, but it could also just be from corrosion on the connector from being outside on a barbecue. I ask her if they have exchange she says no but I could buy new tanks and fill those.... So its okay that you would fill a propane tank and I am using it to cook meth if its yours? Dont worry all meth cookers out there all you have to do is clean your connections with vinegar and they will fill your tanks here! Needless to say 2 strikes in a row stay away people.

I went to a different U-Haul to check my connections for a trailer the day before and everything was good. Picked up my trailer at this location and after the hookup, he was having trouble seeing the left turn signal. He went underneath and pressed my cables together more (they were already tight) and looked again and said they were good. I got all the way to Tennessee and checked all of my lights again and my left turn signal was not working. I called U-Haul and they sent someone to fix it. The guy was out there for 3-4 hours and couldn’t fix it. Wiring was so bad he gave up. Exposed cut wires everywhere, repairs everywhere. It blew TWO different fuses inside my truck. He concluded my truck wasn’t the problem the trailer was from the start and sent me to get a new trailer the next day. I had further problems with roadside assistance but I won’t get into that. I called customer service to get this resolved as far as my money back or at least contact me back. I have waited for almost a week to hear back. They first said wait 24 hours and I would get a response from the location. I called again and they said it was sent back so they sent again and wait 72 hours... no response. This is a horrible place that sent me with an unsafe trailer and after all of the issues I experienced, can’t even call me back to get this resolved. FIND ANOTHER RENTAL LOCATION OR COMPANY.

I chose this UHaul location over another company that cost $100 less for the same size truck because they had hours conducive to my needs. I verified they were open and told them I was on my way. Arrived to pick up truck and no one answered the locked door. Called and was connected to call center who told me to go to another door on side of building and knock. Nothing. Called back and told that 2 employees were there because they can see that theyre on the computer terminal however they didnt respond to call centers email or phone calls either. Apparently they closed early for a day before storm that never happened. But I was told yes we are open see you in 30 minutes.Next day when I arrived I asked for discount to compensate for my time and gas as I live on the other side of town. Got no where with that.Although I once again called ahead to be certain they were open, the truck was not ready when I arrived or even upon completion of rental check in. Window had ice on it so one employee sprayed drivers side (not even half way) then went back inside without a word. After a few minutes I went in and asked her to spray entire window. She reluctantly did then went back inside. I got inside and the defroster was not even turned on. It would have taken another 20 minutes for the window to melt.I should have went to the other company where I would have paid less and maybe been provided with better customer service.

My daughter rented a truck for a few hours. Then they are trying to charge her for a crack on the windshield that was there when she pick it up. When we went back to the store there was no manger on duty and the sales rep was rude non caring about the issue. When asked for the corporate number rep stated he does not know it.

Admittedly it was a short visit it was a very pleasant one. I was returning a Motorcycle trailer for a customer and i was greeted immediately. Checked in for the return, asked if i could handle backing up a trailer. And in a total of 10 minutes i was gone. Would consider renting from this location in the future.

Very slow service, staff needs training on customer service. The lady I spoke with on the phone at this location was very snappy and disrespectful. I believe customers are not always right but the associate should still maintain respect and empathy when speaking with a customer.

Very dissatisfied, wanted a new plug installed on my pickup. 3 trips there and still didnt work right. Finally told me it was over 30 days and I would have to pay more. Tried to explain with my wife going to chemotherapy I couldnt just drop everything and come back. Didnt care.

I was denied service because of a personal conflict with the manager of this location, Tinessa. I have been renting from Uhaul on a consistent basis for the past five years. Sometimes spending $600 or $700 per rental. I usually leave very good reviews for this location but the past few times the customer service was awful. I stated this in my last review. Since then, I have had several problems with this location. From illegally charging my card double, to having my rental switched to a new location, to being advised that I will not be able to rent from this location again. I have contacted the regional manager as well as corporate. My hopes are that this will be handled, as I don’t wish to terminate my working relationship with uhaul. It would be a great disservice to lose money based on a personal grudge. It would be a lot easier to get rid of the employee instead of the customer.

I have trouble every time I go to this location, winter 2018, I needed to fill a couple of propane tanks for an elderly couple to use a portable heater on a night it was gonna be 6 degrees, their main heat was broke. On arrival the manager walks out already shaking her head. When she walked over she begin giving multiple excuses why she can’t fill tanks. The excuse she decided to really go with was,”It’s getting dark and corporate don’t like us to fill tanks at night”. It was broad daylight 4:00 in the evening. NOW yesterday I go to get 3 tanks filled to get ready for a category 4 hurricane Florence direct hit, again the manager starts with excuses why she can’t fill tanks, I explained that I need this gas to get by when power goes out, she didn’t care. Both times I drove to Bragg Blvd. location and they took care of filling tanks right away. Gillespie street location has one of the sorriest, most lazy, uncaring managers you could imagine. She chews and smacks gum and worried more about her nails then her job. When I told her I was gonna contact corporate to complain she actually laughed and said go ahead, evidently they don’t care either. Bragg Blvd location is a much better location and the employees are great but I don’t plan to ever go back to uhaul for ANYTHING and will get tanks filled at a gas company in the future.

Lazy lairs rude meanful and racseist for 2 days trying to get boxes for moving only seveving there own kind expept us we need 2 or 3 hours to get to you we stayed in the phone yesterday for half an hour and come back tomorrow and we did nownthey are saying that they start loading at 9 even though they are open they say it will take 2 to 3 hours to get to us even though thet have no one else they are killing time and 4 to 6 people cleaning cars and not helping ans she said that we have nothing to do with our time and also say they dont deseve us.

There was only one employee who could fill the tank. But she was too busy serving other customers. When it finally came time to fill my tank up, she told me she wasnt going to do it. Than she gloated about how another potential customer cursed her out. At the end, she told me she was surprised I did not curse her out. What does it look like for a man my age to be cursing out a woman younger than all of my children? But I was upset, so I did file with corporate, because I walked several miles to get there and waited 30 minutes to be told NO. I cant do it.Update: I went to this location to fill my tank on Tuesday, October 9th 2018. Within one minute I was serviced by a young man name Kyle. He was very professional. And business was done in less than 5 minutes. You need more people like him. I have upgraded my star from one to two. Thank you very much.

There was a hole in the roof of the storage unit. After a heavy rain we checked our unit and many of our personal items were severely damaged. I asked for a truck to move my belongings into as there was another storm on the way. There were no trucks available and the Assistant Manager would not send an employee to get a truck located at another facility. I then drove across town to Storage Smart on Camden Road who helped out greatly. I will NEVER store my belongings here or recommend it to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go with Storage Smart on Camden.

So far 3 of the staff workers including Managers have been rude and not well trained in customer service. I was given wrong information upon signing my contract not told I had limited access to my storage unit. When I tried to explain I was told 3 different stories by Manager and Assistant manager. They are too pricey to be rude and unprofessional. I will take my business back to legion road self storage where 24hr access and friendly staff come with the service free!!!!

I totally understand! Yes This place is a nightmare. So called manager at this location is a _____,! She should be fired!.. Everyone has to answer to someone.🤔 Linda and Tammy are amazing💖 and very caring. They should also be managing the store. The sad thing is that in General NO ONE wants their belonging in storage,the reason in doing so is due to difficult times, I get 0 Joy in living without my things, Im a single mother so that said! My family is without.Proper training on PR should be a prerequisite when (helping)/Working a job that is more than likely going to bea Sensitive situation for the customer. I believe if you dont work from the HEART...andAre selfserving/uneducated and just nasty perhaps you should get a real job that suits you best, like maybe driving a dump truck..These reviews know what im talking about..😑..LMHO AMIT R. .🚔🚑🚨🛎️🔔🥁

I called this u-haul location to make sure there was an employee there who was certified to distribute propane and was told yes they would be there until 7pm. After driving 20 minutes to get to this location i was told noone was there to fill my tank. I was also told that i spoke with a call center which was a lie cause i previously rented from the exact location and i called to reserve the truck i needed and i didnt speak with a call center then. I will not be using this location anymore

Customer service was terrible! I want to rate one star! I NEVER received a call back from the manager to see if we could get our rental transferred because of a size issue, the woman who called us back was not a manager AND hung up on us . I would never recommend this location to anyone !
