Love this place. My kid and I go once every couple of weeks to pick up our Spawn Comics. The gentleman working behind the counter (owner I presume) is a great guy. Always checks the items availability when I call. HUGE selection of new and pre-owned comics as well. Customer for life.
If you like being treated like a second class citizen this is your place. 10 out of 10 will not go again
Super cool shop. Got new comics and most of the old ones if theres a collectors item youre searching for. A bit costly on some though.
Rude man running the store. You can get everything cheaper on ebay
I used to collect comics but stopped years ago. Slowly getting back into it, this place has a ton of back issues and all the new comics including all the variant covers. Owner was nice and knowledgeable recommended several other books based on the books I bought. Would give the place 10 stars if I could!
First off the owner is very disrespectful!!! He asked me to wipe my hands with a sanitizer wipe and I was totally cool with that. I even asked if I could pick stuff up and he said I could. What got me super upset was I went to pick something up on the counter and he rudely yelled “don’t pick that up!” Also asked questions about pricing and he didn’t give me the time of day. I was easily going to drop $200 in that store today and I can honestly say I am glad I didn’t give that man a dime of my money.I highly advise people don’t waste your time because you will not get customer service or manors. I hope the owners reads this because you might want to change your attitude if you want customers, but I will never be one.
The sole oasis for an almost extinct medium in our corner of NWA. A five -star, reputable and venerated source for the Mint collector of comic and collectable medium.Having reached the age of forty, I decided to take a Marie Kondo approach to a small stack of comics I had painstakingly maintained in mostly very good and near-mint condition since I was about ten years old. I knew these like the back of my hand. The price, the condition, and had kept them well maintained in a wooden trundle at the perfect temperature. These werent worth much but to me were treasure. After a disappointing search across the internet for a local place that might know a way to get them in the right hands, I had ONLY one option. Rock Bottom in Fayetteville.A forty minute drive from Bentonville, I was really going out of my way about this. I didnt really need the money, I didnt really WANT to let my collection go per-se, but it was time to allow another generation to marvel at the art styles and storylines that had fascinated me in the late 80s to mid-90s.Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by a jovial older gentleman, freshly washed hair, well-kept and clearly adhering to the federal and state recommended guidelines of the current COVID environment of 2020.The shop was very small, but simply stacked wall-to-wall with treasure abound. From the very latest ink and the freshest new artists in the industry to niche, vintage Japanese Godzilla memorabilia. This place had it all.Something compelled me to just spill the truth. These arent worth much, but to me theyre treasure. I dont want to throw them away, but I would rather they get into the hands of the right person. The man clearly held himself well and with surgical precision, warmly let me know he would be glad to take a look at them. Best thing I couldve heard. As he reviewed the small stack I began to browse his wares, all of which were perfectly maintained in plastic, protective covering making sure my purchase was of the highest possible quality. As we conversed, it became apparent I was speaking to someone who had, by all practical accounts earned a PhD in his trade. He knew what was hot, he knew what was current. I asked him to make sure I wasnt committing any atrocities in letting a particular issue go.As if he had had this conversation a 1000 times before, he warmly reminded me he knew precisely what he was looking at, would formally review them by condition and look-up, then would ensure it would get into the hands of the right collector who knew what they were looking for. Thats what I needed to hear. What I came for. And he treated me kindly, knowing I was letting go of a small bit of my childhood and would protect it with professional care. As any good doctor would of course. He checked me out with extreme care in COVID procedures, and ensured my purchase was well packaged and properly placed in my to-go bag.For the negative reviews Ive read about this little oasis, please remember that little 10 year old back in the late 80s who took such good care of his treasure, so that a new generation could have it in mint condition too. Kids are obviously welcome, and NEED to know where to go for these types of things, but you simply must see it for what it is, a safe haven for the collector and his items. If you are looking for the bewilderment of early childhood, theres Toys R Us. But if you are looking for an educated and professional recommendation on the PERFECT item or new reading material, you have no other option. Thank goodness the experience was indeed five star. As a busy parent, I fully understand what its like to have that 3 year old with grubby little hands while trying to shop for fine china, but please keep them at a safe distance when I need to have my little ten year old treasure surgically removed from my person by a qualified, local doctor.Five Stars for Rock Bottom Books-Gabriel Beale
Amazing comic book shop. A geeks dream
I came in here as a young teenager several years ago because it was the only local place to buy Godzilla merchandise. Asked the owner a question about Godzilla Final Wars I believe and he was just really dismissive and rude. I would go there every two weeks to check out the Godzilla merchandise, but I have never been back since that incident. I dont suggest giving that man your money.
This place is amazing! The guy that owns the place is very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend them for all your comic and collectible needs!
Dont bother. The store is weird and the guy is not a people person. He doesnt like people coming into his store so please dont bother him! Everything is in bags and overpriced. He has $4.99 on $4 books that came out this week. Ill focus on legitimate comic stores and pass on this one.
Lots of comics. I should have read the reviews before going in. I was called a name by the guy working the counter for asking about the covid policy and such. Nothing wrong with the store if you are willing to deal with some abuse and rudeness.
Awesome place.. well organized and tons of merchandise!!
Great local shop!
Id NEVER go into this store, even if the owner was giving away freebies!! Not on is he dismissive, mouthy and rude, but he was making fun of a small child (3 years old!!) because she didnt have a mask on!! He actually mocked her and made fun of her because she has special needs. Hes a piece of human feces and to give this business any sort of support is supporting discrimination. Pathetic.
Heard the owner was rude to my niece, making fun of a special needs person is NEVER okay. Seriously how rock bottom can you get?! Please dont support this business. Absolutely unacceptable.
So I was going there to pick up a comic with my friend and it was 5:53 we new exactly what comic to get and would be in and out right when we stepped in he said this “were closed you don’t even have your mask step out of my store” I tried asking him if I could go and grab my mask but before I could finish talking he said again step out of my store. It was 5:53 and they close at 6 we could have easily got in and out Geez Louise my man needs to add please to his vocabulary
This wouldnt have been a bad trip if the owner of the store refused to answer a question as to whether he only sold comic books or if he also sold regular books. He refused to answer because I was not wearing a mask, although that was hypocritical because he wasnt wearing a mask either. I brought that up and here replied, This is my store! There wasnt anyone in here. Which still didnt justify the reason why he would demand for me to wear a mask, while here wasnt wearing one.I can tell why the store is named Rock Bottom Books.
Great comic shop! I always find what Im looking for and a little bit more. Staff is always ready to answer questions and offer great suggestions on new reads.
Lots of great stuff! A bit cramped but packed with comics and great collector’s stuff.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good selection.
Weve always loved this place, and now even more so. The owner has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of his patrons during this pandemic. He provides antibacterial hand wipes as you enter so that when you inevitably pick up comic to look at the cover you have a lower risk of spreading the virus if you have it. He really cares for his customers and it shows.
I drive 45 mins to come here love the place that much. Staff are great and they know their comics
There are many interesting things in the store, but one of the employees was very rude to me. I was interested in buying a toy and looked at the item, but the employee immediately raised his voice against me and accused me of playing with the toy!? I guess he doesnt like to earn money, wont see me again as a customer.
A large selection of new comics, & a smaller selection of harder to find silver age books. The owner is a very congenial fellow, wholl help you with what ever you might need.
Okay so the store is cool yeah but long story short the owner is just plane out mean! I mean he Ignored me and things like that he is just mean!!
Organized and packed to the gills something for everyone. Old or new hes got it!
Been going here for years and never disappointed. Alan and staff are super helpful in finding new series. Highly recommend.
Very organized and clean with lots of up to date, back order, and vintage comics. I come here from out of town just to buy from them. The owner is incredibly hospitable and helpful. Very great comic store!
Love this comic shop! Only place I will go to buy comics. The staff and owner are very knowledgeable and friendly. I can always find exactly what Im looking for! Always one of my favorite stores to go in. Dont buy your comics online, buy them here!
I love coming to RBC! The staff here is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable on all of the books and stories they sell. This place has an incredibly welcoming feel to it and theres always an new selection of comics every week.
This place was beyond amazing!! Great customer service. I really enjoyed them. They are very helpful in finding comics. I recommend comic lovers to this shop. Good deals and great prices.
Wow! Ive never seen a comic store quite displayed like this. The comics are set in rows facing outwards and collected in groups accordingly. It was easy to find what I need. The staff was friendly, too~
Great place! The staff remembers me when I go in and helps me pick out some comics based on what Ive already read. Theyre extremely knowledgeable and help me find comics I would overlook ordinarily.
Probably one of the few places that takes social distancing seriously. I really do feel safe shopping there.
Very rude, make you feel bad for coming in.
Will not be back into this store, went in with several people and a disabled man we were with tripped over an unmarked step and bumped into a display (nothing broken or damaged), we were told at that point if youre not buying anything you need to leave..had been in store less than 5 minutes at this point and had planned to buy several items, was appalled at how the employee (owner?) treated us. would give zero stars if possible
I went in there yesterday for just my second time. The staff upon learning it was my birthday helped me find the perfect gift for myself. They were helpful and genuinely excited like I would be if I worked there. Those two who were working yesterday made me feel more special in a store than I have in stores with staff with years more experience selling.
Based on all the negative reviews I wont step foot in this place.
It is always awesome and freandly people. My husband loves this place! And they are always welcoming to our 5 year old daughter and carry books she likes as well. GREAT PLACE!
This is the only comic shop around but if you’re looking for new issues, this is the place. If you need back issues, shop online. It’s a bit pricey on the older stuff but this place is definitely worth the visit at least once
Fantastic selection if books and graphic novels! Friendly staff that knows there stuff and even .99 cent comic book boxes for you to rummage thru and find some gems!! Highly recommend this place!!
Amazingly helpful staff. A little claustrophobic inducing because of the sheer amount of comics both in organized stands and in boxes. They also carry figurines and other nerd merch. Go check them out!
Great People, I am new to comic book coleecting and these guys helped me out right away. Walked in bought a couple copies liked em came back, I asked about other issues I had a hard time finding they gave me Great help! Now I have a list of comics I want and they put them in a box for me. If youre new to comics or been collecting awhile shop here. I love atmosphere there, they dont Judge you if you dont know what comics you like and are willing to help you find a comic for you! Seriously Great people great selection try these guys out!!!
Genuinely good folks, lots of help, and if they dont have it theyll find it for you. Awesome!
I went here for the Rickmobile when it was in town and they were amazing hosts. They had a great selection of comics and interesting products at reasonable prices, as well as wonderfully polite and helpful staff. If youre looking for some comics or anything geeky, I *highly* recommend you stop by!
Great little store with a huge selection of Comics and a decent section of RPG books. Friendly service.
I have been a semi-regular shopper here in the past and this place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the owner doesn’t know or seem to care about customer service. They have raised the price of items from price on tag at the register multiple times which is annoying. I understand that the value of comics fluctuate erratically but not once has he ever lowered the value because the price was inaccurate. The last straw for me happened yesterday when he shamed for only coming to the register with one dollar bin comic. “Just One” he says them he refused to run my debit card on the transaction because he said it wasn’t enough. I would have been inclined to spend more money if he was even a slight bit respectful on how he handled it but alas he doesn’t care about making customers happy. He just wants easy money and that’s all.
Never judge a book by its cover.Should have read the reviews here first before walking in today [after a 13year hiatus] with a considerable Christmas gift budget to spend. The owner was at the front organizing comic books, so I politely asked about their selection of vintage Transformers. He flatly replied we dont have many transformers. After 10min of browsing the store, there were at least 40-50 various Transformers for sale, albeit at grossly overpriced valuations. I literally asked about one behind the counter if it was for sale & was answered yeah its for sale. Then nothing. No communication. At this point I found a helpful employee who finished his tasks & looked up the price.I do not leave many reviews & believe in the general welfare of small businesses as we are a dying breed. I say we because I too own a small business that is considered a success based SOLELY on a little gem called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Look, I get that you have a niche market with hard-to-find items scattered throughout the store & have put ZERO effort into maintaining a relatively clean retail space. With minimal effort, over all these years, this store has continued to sink to ROCK BOTTOM. Do yourself a favor & give the hard working employees & management at Vintage Stock your hard-earned dollars.
Allen is the best and so is his staff knowledgeable about things.
Great staff there. Very knowledgeable about comics and gaming in general. They are very friendly and clearly passionate about this hobby
Best place in northwest Arkansas to go get comics, owner and staff are always very friendly and helpful when looking for something
Always have excellent suggestions, friendly and knowledgeable staff: its a highlight of my week to get to share in my comic book addiction with other enthusiasts. They go the extra mile to find what you are looking for if they dont have it; which has been rare in my experience. Rock Bottom in this case is the top!
My all time favourite comic book destination. Ive been coming here since I was in Junior High and have so many pleasant memories of time spent browsing the store and talking to the staff. Could not reccomend more.
People who arent comic books nerds wont understand the love the store employees or the employer has. Though this store is small and cramped, which cant be avoided, it is still a great place for nerds to go for their favorite comic. Its also locally owned. Way better than a big corporation that jacks up prices just to get good money for a used product.
The inside has a lived in feel that is so much better than your average antiseptic retail hut. The two primary employees are agreeable guys though the owner can get carried away upselling books. The organization can be tough though I think they just need more space. The pricing on current books is fine. Everything else I don’t even look or ask anymore.More than anything I don’t like the seemingly developing model where it’s show up on new book Wednesday, have your picks pulled, or... “whatever, man.” If you start up a series maybe a month or two after it starts/finishes, the series will be half-stocked and what’s there will be taped in poly, so you can’t thumb through and see if it’s worth your time. I near got tackled by an employee when I tried to skim a book I was first prying out of the tape, and if by now they don’t know me as a rather regular customer who buys without any fuss, haggling, or lurking... I mean, it’s not good, not pleasant. Frankly I’ve stayed away for a bit because of it.Even if imperfect it’s a fine shop and really the only game in town.
Ive always gotten great service, and they have a great selection even after cutting the store in half. I have a subscription to a monthly comic and apparently get a discount on the cover price. The employees are very knowledgeable, and I appreciate their recommendations on other titles I might like.
Great store! Drove 30 miles to visit Rock Bottom and wasnt disappointed. The selection, the staff was just great! Found some rare pieces for my son. Thank you!
Another hidden gem of Fayetteville. The absolute destination for your comic needs in town. Has great indie selection, and just about any trade worth having. Floor to ceiling comics. Been around for well over a decade.
Best comic book store in NWA....very knowledgeable as well!
Vast comics available. Theyll find it if you want it.
Awesome store, so many different comic book lines and comic/movie/game memorabilia and very knowledgable staff.
Ive been getting my comics here for 15 years, since I was 13 years old. GREAT stock and supply of comics, statues, and trades. The staff and owner are extremely knowledgeable on all the products and the culture. I have NEVER had a problem with customer service here. The owner will pre-order whatever you need and is just all around helpful! Some people dont understand that this place is for collectors, so the stuff cant be handled roughly. And the prices are more than fair. They go by the diamond book prices that most stores go by and all merchandise is kept in prestine condition. A WONDERFUL place to go if you love comics!!! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!
Rude, poor customer service. There is a better way to tell a customer you want to raise the price on an item than the way you handled it. Ruined our night and totally not necessary.
Great shop with helpful and knowledgeable staff. LARGEST TPB and new issue selection in the area. Lots of toys, games, models, too. Theyve got stuff you dont even know you want yet.
I still love this spot but the owner/proprietor has got to click it back with upselling. The last time I was in there, I mentioned I was behind on a few series because Id been on some overtime benders at work and he jumped right in and declared thats money for books. Its damn exhausting. Every time I go in there is SOMETHING else to buy.
The staff there is super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they had quite a few out of print/older items that we were looking for - well certainly be back!
They had a great collection of comics. And very well organized.
This place is amazing and the owner is extremely knowledgeable and passionate. A Fayetteville treasure.
Great local comic book store! Always friendly staff that will help you find what you are looking for. Great store for casual comic readers and collectors.
Asked to leave when my elderly disabled friend tripped, when told he was disabled, the store owner said he didnt care. So we left I have more respect for myself and my friend than his wallet.
Awesome! It is the best comic book store I have ever been to.
Comics and people with knowledge on them. Cool place to check out.
Best selection in the NWA area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Good food and friendly staff.
Only shop I can go to In NWA that has a good selection. Its actually the only comicbook shop in NWA that I know of. They work great with you on price.
Best comic book shop in town! Allen and Josh are the best!
I 💖 this place! Staff is always pleasant & knowledgeable on their inventory! 😋
Positively disgusting the way they treat dedicated customers.Order things you didnt ask for, and then are mad you dont buy them.Theyve gotten my money before, but I will never buy or recommend them again.
The last great comic store in the state of arkansaa
If you are in too comic books its the perfect place to find what you want. And if they dont have it on hand they will be happy to get it for you if they can.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff. Best comic shop Ive been to in Arkansas.
Its just a really cool store
The inside was filthy, the service horrible, and the prices ridiculous. I now understand why comic book stores are closing left and right. I was looking for a gift for someone, and ended up going online with Amazon. Saved a bunch of money. How can anyone go here more than once?
Great store, nice staff and well worth going
Good selection, fair prices and friendly staff. Very informed on their products.
Awesome service. They always have every thin I need and are eager to help me find something best comic shop ive been to
You just got to get to know the people there and buy something to break the ice but there cool and Ive been going there for years
The employees are super nice and helpful with picking out new comics and helping you find the right issues.
Cool when you first walk in.. But RUDE AND INCREDIBLY OVER-PRICED!!!!! Went home and googled something they were selling and found it for 6 dollars..... in store it was f***ing $75 Dollars!!
I started reading comics about 2 years ago and I am glad that Rock Bottom is the place that I buy them from. The staff is kind and knowledgable, not to mention that all their recommendations are excellent! They go above and beyond finding me what I need and I always look forward to my next visit.
Lots of selection. I found some good deals. I will be returning.
Not a bad little store, Just wish there was a bit more variety in their products.
This store was great, It is a little cramped and small but they have an excellent selection and are great about suggesting new title that you might like.
This guy has it all currently hooked to the vertigo comics seriously wish they made more
Wonderful store, knowledgeable staff.
Only place in all of Northwest Arkansas to find quality comic book products.
