I had never had individual lashes or any type of lash enhancement before today. Megan really showed me something! She was so professional and she knows what she is doing. I could tell before I even got out of her chair that she had nailed it! From one business owner to another, I was impressed!

Today I attended my first make up class at Expressionz Studio. It was the absolute best experience. Megan was amazing as usual. She answered all of my questions. She had a model present for demonstration, she provided guidance through our return demonstration on the model, and we ended the class by doing our individual make up with her standing next to us giving tips and guiding us through completion. I feel like this class will be very beneficial to any level of experience with make up. Megan has given me the confidence to experiment with make up, especially with my eyebrows. I can’t wait for the next class!Thank you Megan!

I was in NC for vacation (I traveled from Kentucky). Ive heard amazing things about Expressionz from my hair dresser and decided to stop by before my vacation ended. I was very impressed by the staff and the service. All of the women were very professional and make you feel comfortable. The makeup artist walked me through the process and explained everything she was applying and how to apply it. I felt so amazing when she was finished. If I am ever in NC again I will definitely be going back to Expressionz!! Thank you for the amazing service and experience.

The atmosphere was friendly and the employees were welcoming and nice. The part that I am upset about is that my eyebrows are WAY to over arched. I came in yesterday and was greeted and welcomed. The woman proceeded to take a before picture of my eyebrows without my permission. She told me it was just of my eyebrows which I was okay with. She proceeded to do my eyebrows and asked how I like them. I told her because i have thin eyebrows i would just like them cleaned up and filled in. She pointed out the shape which i was well aware of but i also know my own eyebrows, i just wanted a cleanup and fill in. After she finished it was gorgeous I was happy in how she filled them in. Heres the not so pretty part, after getting all of my makeup off, I looked at how my eyebrows were really arched and I am missing half of them. I have no eyebrow wings especially on the left hand side. This is truly upsetting because A. It takes for ever for my eyebrows to grow back B.I specifically said a clean up. If the fill in was to hide the mess up I feel deceived and disappointed. Luckily I know how to fill in my own eyebrows but I will never go back there again nor recommend.

Loved my hair and makeup! Brenda did me the favor and rescued me from a terrible hair do I had just gotten. She went out of her way to fix it and do it Exactly how I wanted it in the first place! And she did it on her day off! The beautiful ladies there have GREAT customer service!!!! Megan is fast and is great with her makeup skills! I will be coming back for myself and my girls! I moved to Fayetteville from Texas and was desperately trying to find someone who I could trust to do my hair. Drea SLAYYYYED my hair. And all the girls were great. Customer service was 👌🏽. I highly recommend!

I came in today to get my lashes done.The lash artist used hair bonding glue for extensionsor track hair on my lashes and my eye is swelling up. Im allergic to hair bonding glue and i know that smell anywhere. I was in a rush and didnt realize what glue was used on my lashes until an hour later. Im very dissapointed because I take pride in giving my business to black owned businesses.Update i come back and they removed them no issue. Ill give them another chance

Although, the service render was really good, the MUA, Miya, made me feel very uncomfortable! I confided in her about something and she repeated what I said purposely loud enough for everyone in the shop to hear! I was embarrassed but I didnt say anything, she was very insensitive and embarrassing!

I went in with a pink brown and green dress. The makeup artist refused to listen to me and insisted I do and purple and green for my eyeshadow. I told him I didnt want to do those colors. He proceeded to do it anyway and told me that if i didn’t like it he would take it off and start over. When i was shown my face my eyebrows where like cartoon characters. The makeup was very much so like a drag queen. It was obvious the artist was inexperienced as he joked about it. White guy, maybe Tony or something. My hair was blonde but my eyebrows for some reason looked like they were drawn with a brown sharpie. I was very upset and all the manager did was wipe away the brows to tone them down and and blended the purple and green until muddied brown. Very disappointed. Too expensive too

Megan arched my eyebrows and gave me a class on how to fill them in. She was patient and allowed me to practice as many times as I wanted to. Next she is going to give me a full face make up class. Im going to step into 2020 on some new me stuff.

I do not live in Fayetteville but when I do come EXPRESSIONZ is one of my favorite places to visit even when I am not receiving services... The staff is awesome!!!! Thanks Megan for a great experience...

Update to add: after posting review the owner of the studio reached out to apologize for my experience. I was offered a free facial and asked if I would give her the chance to make it right. I requested a refund and she was able to process it that day.I had a full face makeup appointment for Saturday at 10a.m because I was having family pictures done at 1p.m. I walked into the studio at 9:57a.m knowing they did not open until 10:00. I was greeted by a hair dresser who asked me to have a seat and informed me someone would be there soon. At 10:02 an employee walked and she was told her 10:00 was there by the hairdresser. The female employee snapped back at the other employee telling her she had to take something to her other job and she would be right back. The employee turned towards me and told me to have a seat at her station that she needed to run an errand and she would be right back. I considered that although she was late and now needed to leave again; I didn’t have pictures till 1:00 so I moved to the station and sat down. When she returned she wiped my face with what felt and smelled like a product with rubbing alcohol, and then proceeded to start my makeup. Within about 5 mins she was telling incoming customers that she was almost done with me and she would get to them next. I looked over at the mirror not at all understanding how she was in fact “almost finished”. She turned me towards the mirror and I had to explain that the eye shadow she applied wasn’t even close to even (right eye I had color up to my brow and left eye only had color on the lid) she attempted so fix it but it wasn’t looking any different. She appeared annoyed with me that I kept telling her it wasn’t right. I felt so uncomfortable and felt like I could have done a similar job on my own at home. By the end of the appointment she asked me what I thought and I finally told her I wasn’t happy with it. The foundation was separating and due to my dry skin and her applying alcohol to my face I had patches where the makeup and skin were flaking. Instead of offering to fix it she just stood there looking at me and then stated “yea thats just your skin, it’s dry.” I again stated that I wasn’t happy but I guess she wasn’t going to fix it and she turned and walked towards the main desk. I stood up and walked over paid and left. Thankfully this studio is right outside of Belk. I walked into MAC almost in tears and had my whole face redone. Aside from the mediocre skills of the employees the business as a whole seemed disorganized and understaffed. I wouldn’t recommend.

I went here to get my prom makeup done because Ive heard only great things about it(and whats not to love about a black-owned makeup studio?). The woman who did my makeup(Megan) barely spoke to me aside from asking what I was wearing and curtly responding to whatever conversation I attempted to make. I didnt feel comfortable in the slightest. Truth be told, it seemed like she was in a rush when there werent even people waiting until toward the end of my appointment(which lasted approximately 35 minutes. For comparison, the girl in the chair next to me was getting her makeup done when I got there and still wasnt done when I left). Megan did not prime my face or ask about my skin type and proceeded to roughly apply a cream foundation and concealer on my face which later turned grey. I have never flinched so much while someone else was doing my makeup. The day after prom I actually had a breakout from that foundation or something else that she used on my face(which I know it was one of the products because I hadnt changed my skincare routine or my diet). I showed her a picture of the eyeshadow look I wanted and she gave me a poorly done, unblended gold cut crease(which I couldve done better at home because I have the exact Juvias Place palette she used) that didnt look like what I asked for in the slightest. My dress was not that yellowish-gold shade and the eye look I asked for was the same gold as my dress and the crease shade wasnt as dark(and theres a shade in the Juvias palette that is much closer than the one she used). I have curly lashes, so she stuck the(unevenly cut) falsies on top of my lashes sloppily, resulting in uneven lashes and the band being stuck to my ACTUAL EYELASHES. If she couldnt do it she couldve just told me as much. I asked for a mauve pink-brown lipstick and she gave me some nasty purple-brown. She did set my face with a(grey) setting powder but didnt use a setting spray of any kind. I dont even want to talk about the contour she did and the texture I had. I didnt bother to start an argument because I still had to go home to finish my hair, fix the mess shed made on my face, and take pictures with friends and family. Needless to say, that was the worst 50-something dollars Ive ever spent on getting my makeup done. I was so frustrated with my experience and I had to take nearly 5 minutes to peel those false lashes off of my natural lashes safely. The makeup took nearly a half hour to fix. I had to be careful since everything was set but I ultimately ended up applying a different lipstick, neutralizing the grey tones to the best of my ability, redoing my eyeshadow completely, and filling in a bit of my eyebrow arch that she somehow neglected. I dont generally post reviews and I especially dont post pictures for the world to see but this was that bad(the photo was taken about 5 minutes after leaving the studio). Thank goodness we have good makeup for deep skin in 2019 because it wouldve been a total disaster if we didnt. I was relieved that the prom was dark in most areas. Dont waste your money here. Do yourself a favor and do your own makeup or find people who can actually do it well.
