My car was in the parking lot and wouldn’t turn on. Brad noticed myself and a coworker of mine trying to figure out how to jump my battery and he came over to see if he could help. He then asked if he could check my battery for me and to drive across the way. I watched him check it and then immediately get a new battery and put it in for me. Very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I’m use to something like this taking up my whole day to figure out, but Brad took time to help me right then without making me feel like I was messing up his day. I would highly recommend! Dropped my car off for an alignment, 6 days later is the first time I heard back from them. They said they couldn’t do the alignment because a bushing was worn out, so I assumed they got it on the rack, saw it and took it down. Nope. When I got there to pick it up and drive it home, it was nearly undriveable. Tires pointing in different directions, skidding when I turn. My steering wheel is super crooked and wobbly. Avoid this place at all costs.

I highly recommend University Auto as an honest mechanic that will efficiently fix your cars presenting issue without adding lots of additional repairs!I initially brought my 2015 Nissan Versa in to get an estimate for repairs from another mechanic in the area (Christian Brothers Automotive) when my vehicle was making scraping noises on right turns and humming loudly / vibrating when driving (especially on the highway). Unfortunately, the initial estimate from Christian Brothers Automotive was around $4,000, because it included routine maintenance (the car is almost to the 100k mark) like a tune-up, spark plugs, oil change, air filter change, serpentine belt, flushing fluids, etc. The estimate also recommended replacing all struts, shocks, wheel bearings, and brake rotors/pads on the vehicle. After explaining how many of these items were not urgent, the estimate was reconfigured to cost just under $2000 to replace all the wheel bearings on the vehicle. They did warn me that not replacing the bearings right away meant the car could seize up while Im driving it, which would be very dangerous.I was concerned that instead of diagnosing the problem (what I paid $75 for), Christian Brothers Automotive were intending to just replace all parts that could be possibly be associated with the problem. So I picked up my vehicle (their shuttle service both ways is convenient), paid the $75, and brought it to University Auto in Fayetteville (on a friends recommendation). I dropped my car off at 7:30am and University Auto had diagnosed the problem with an estimate by 11am. $637 to remove and replace the wheel bearing hub assembly (one side only) and to replace the pads and rotor for the front disc brakes. It was done within one day and is working great! This is less than 1/3 of the cost Christian Brothers Automotive was intending to charge me (all the wheel bearings didnt need to be replaced to fix the issue--just one).Ive been looking for a new mechanic in the area since my previous mechanic stepped back from the day-to-day working on / diagnosing cars. University Auto will be my new go-to!

They stand behind their work and get the job done in a fast and professional way. I used to just have my car worked on there, but then I found out about their good deals on tires, and now buy my tires here as well. Its hard to find an auto shop that you trust. University Auto is where I send my friends.

The desk employee was rude today and unprofessional. That bothers me because our time was wasted multiple times from family and work, to find out it was too busy once we arrived. This was after calling and letting them know we would be there first thing in the morning. We show up no apologies or anything just can’t do it, unless we leave the car for two days.Mel, wanted to let know your business is losing good customer business because of an attitude at front desk. The overall work is great but hopefully, some training on how they should handle Customers in a better way than to excuse their busyness as nothing they can do about it..people are busy and it makes a difference on how it is communicated to show how you care. I would not send friends now because of scheduling process. Please understand this is only for improvement upon a great reputable company established in Fayetteville.

Everytime something crazy happens to our vehicles we bring them here. The service is great, it just takes a while. And I dont live in town so I just to wait till its done. But overall my vehicles get fixed and they let me know what else is wrong with it.

They didnt want assist me in getting a seized bolt out so I could change my license plate.

Fantastic communication from beginning to end. Pricing was competitive and right where their estimate said it would be. The office area is clean, organized, and the staff friendly and treated me like family. Ill be back. Literally, I own a Jeep, so I know Ill have more sh*t to fix in the future. That being said, theres no way Id leave a 5 star rating on a review page for Jeep, particularly their Engineering Dept. Those jackwagons would be lucky to get 1 star. I mean, yeah, a Jeep is cool and all but do they really need a Check Engine Light for every single thing on the vehicle? No.But back to the crew at University Auto.....great folks and they do great work!

Maybe the guy I spoke with this morning didn’t have his breakfast, he became rude after provided me a quote for front wheels alignment (which I think the quote was a little too high too). So I just took my key and left.I don’t think I will ever go back for any service due to that guy’s unprofessional attitude.

Firstly, the team is attentive and respectful, and the mechanics are talented. They arent slow and I did not find anyone remotely rude. However I could not responsibly recommend this shop to anyone for jobs that are not straightforward. They are seriously lacking in communication. Once I was given an estimate and then charged twice what I had been told, with no change to the work done. On another occasion I asked them to let me know ahead of time if they werent interested in the work I needed done. They assured me that they were, charged me for hours of diagnostic work, and proceeded to tell me they werent interested. They said youre always bringing in complicated jobs. Sorry, I will make sure my cars are fixed before bringing them in next time.

Went in for a diagnostic was quoted price of $750. Something just didnt seem right because what they diagnose the car with I was not even having trouble with it. I ended up taking my vehicle to the dealership and I was right what they diagnose was incorrect.

Not the worst service; not the best. Usually not greeted upon arrival. Called and emailed multiple times to see if my vehicle and paperwork were ready. Took over a month to get MOST of what was due to me. If you come here for simple services it is not that bad. Anything more demanding overwhelms this shop. 2/5 - Still havent received everything...

I called University Auto, explained the problem, they gave me the number for Complete Towing company. I called and the tow guy was there in under 30 minutes. He towed me back to University Auto, and they gave me a ride home and proceeded to put on a new starter. The tow was free, the starter was free, the labor was free. Repair was complete in less than 24 hours. And they came to my house and picked me up, and brought me back to the garage when my vehicle was ready. There was no cost because I had had the starter replaced by them about 6 months prior and now it had failed again. Outstanding customer service! The tow truck driver said University Auto was the best around and I agree. They fully stand behind their work. Ill be going there for my next automotive repair need.

This has been my auto shop of choice for years and through several vehicles. They are always courteous, professional and friendly. They stand by what they do and they are knowledgeable.

Ive been going to University Auto for twenty years and I usually have great service, but today I brought it in to get the cabin filter changed and they said it didnt have one, that their mechanic looked everywhere. I even told them that there are youtube how-to videos that show people changing the filter. He then said well you can take it to a dealer and theyll charge you $200. So I took it to Superior Nissan and they replaced the filter in about thirty minutes and it cost $50 (about half of what University Auto quoted me.)

I cant praise University Auto enough. I was traveling through on my way to Montana when I broke down. It was a Saturday and they were closed. However, University Auto was highly reccomend by the locals. I had my vehicle towed to their location and was there first thing on Monday morning. Within less than 90 minutes they had me diagnosed and I was on the right track to continue my trip. University Auto is a rare thing nowadays. They provide a service in a fair, friendly and professional manner. They are VERY fair on their cost. Dont look around. GO HERE!

I was given a quote of almost $1000, the number sounded crazy to me for what I need fixed, so I talked to several other shops in town. every other shop quoted me paying no more than $400. not sure if it was an honest mistake, if the employee was trying to take advantage of me, etc. just make sure to get a second opinion!

Ive used University Auto for many years and three different vehicles. They do great oil changes, and dont try to nickel and dime you. They always been respectful and kind with any work theyve done for me.

They claimed they changed the oil but the filter still had rust on it, definitely did not change the filter. Then they messed up our idle, it now acts like were revving it up when were not touching the gas. They also messed up our power steering pump and ignition. Weve tried and tried but they just keep messing stuff up hoping well bring it back to them to fix, well they got fooled. I will never take my car to them again. Just bad service.

When you ask about something, they sometimes say you dont need it, theres no problem, or it can wait. Not many auto and tire sellers do that, in our experience! Most charge for whatever you asked about and then find a bunch of other repairs you also need. Husband and I had both gone a few times to a national chain after first moving here before getting referred to U Auto & Tire -- and, sure enough, we always walked out paying for some surprise and significant expenses. A local who we were complaining to recommended this place, and its a world of difference. Since then, weve met several other locals who recommend U Auto and Tire. Maybe some places make some quick cash, but U Auto and Tire builds relationships on dependability and trust -- and thats just good long-term business.

My 2006 Honda Civic ac stopped blowing cold air. They charged me $100 to tell me I need a new ac system for $1500.

I found the staff reluctant to give an estimate for work and when pressed for one, are very vague. I was told between $400 and $550 for a job and when I picked up the truck I was charged $738. I stated this was outrageous and ask for a reduction closer to the quote, the office man said, I already lowered it $100 and this is what it is. If you want your truck out of hock pay it or it stays locked up. Your choice Real heart warming, right…not!!And my truck was still not working. They said it needed a new engine now, for the new oil pump bearings and gaskets that they installed were in vain. I was then quoted a price higher than the GM dealer for an engine swap with a rebuilt crate motor. The place is cold, dirty and the workers unfriendly. There are many better places for your auto work in Farmington or Springdale. Do not be taken in because it is close to your home.

Great place to get new tires cheap

I returned my auto due to the failure of a 9 month old Interstate battery I purchased at University Auto. The technician told me they replaced the failed battery on warranty with a new battery at no charge to me. Problem is they discovered the 9 month old battery had an intermittent short so they simply charged the old battery and lied to me about replacing it. Three weeks later the 9 month old battery failed again due to the intermittent short while I was out of town with the car. I had to buy a new battery myself in order to get it home. They insist there was nothing wrong with the battery in the first place. Once again lying to me and refused to replace the battery by telling me I left the lights on.

I tried and tried to love this place. People I trusted recommended it highly. But they missed basics over and over again over three years. I dont know that I could have done more than say: Check everything. The brakes dont feel right. My steering wheel wobbles. Do everything. And when they found nothing, Id say Are you sure? So, The brakes: I told them the brakes were jerky. They didnt find anything. 1500 miles later, after driving to California, my warped rotors were replaced. 4000 miles after that, Im back saying check everything. The steering doesnt feel right. I got an oil change and assurances there was nothing else wrong. Two months later, I had the front CV axles replaced elsewhere. No more wobbly steering. At the same time/place, I told the new (to me) repair shop to check everything. The friggin air filter was black only two months after my last visit to university auto and my request that they check everything. And those CV axles? The fact is, they didnt get that bad in just two months of in-town driving. Youd think theyd want my money. I sure as heck paid other repair shops hundreds of dollars for repairs that made a real difference. And I have photos. Shame on university auto. All I can think of is that theyre lazy or dont want to work on toyotas.

Honest, knowledgeable, skillful, and fair prices. But dont tell everybody, because I like the way they can always get me in a day or two.

After using University Auto three times Ive determined they take advantage of students. They lied to me about replacing my car battery and broke my automatic windows which they claim they did not touch. They ignore small details and are careless. Their employees are rude and gave me the cold shoulder at every opportunity. Many of the boilerplate these guys are great reviews on Google must be fake because these guys have been constantly awful.
