Oh my gosh. These guitars will make you droooool. Nik not only does the best repairs in town, but he builds such high-quality and unique guitars from scratch that are irresistible (how many people do you know make guitars that are played on by the guitarist in the Red Hot Chili Peppers??)!Nik is also just a very down-to-earth dude that you cant help but stick around and chat with about everything guitar-and-gear related and more. The new location of Gruber Guitars also provides enough space to get real intimate with the guitars and try out gear while having 6 foot-tall windows looking out onto the bustling streets of downtown Fargo. The new location also has some guitar accessories and music lessons in everything from guitar to drums, piano, and more from awesome local musicians. If youre real lucky, maybe Nik can show you his workshop where the guitar magic happens. If you live in town or youre only in town for a day, stop in and check it out and you might find something wonderfully unique.

Dont get me wrong, I love all the guitar places in Fargo - but this is my favorite. Other than the fact that everybody who works there is a gem, the service is top-notch. Took a G&L Legacy USA in for a setup (if you have ever had a setup done before, you know who you choose is a big risk). Got it back and the setup is PERFECT. In fact, I would say the setup is just as good as the setup I had done of my American Telecaster in Nashville. Its actually difficult to find a guitar store these days that does a proper setup rather than simply pull the strings all the way down to the fretboard so that it seems easier to play - buzz be damned. 5/5, easily.

The staff make purchasing a guitar a beautiful experience and stay with you on the journey to make sure the equipment is always top notch. The new venue is much more welcoming and the gear showcased keeps improving. Being a local guitar store the options are not as extensive as some other more widely known stores but the quality of the equipment is of the highest caliber.

Stop in every once in a while to see what is hanging on the wall. Nick custom builds some sexy guitars which are always fun to test out. He definitely knows his stuff and will talk anything related to music. If you have time to kill while in town definitely check out Grubers Guitars.

Maybe not the biggest store in town but, prices are fair, quality is good. Main focus seems to be on tube amps and, custom built guitars. Pretty cool place to check out.

I think the one bad review on here for Grubers shop is completely bogus, and the customer cant take No. for an answer. Gruber has the best guitars, the best amps, does the best work, has the best store front, has the most personable shop, tells the best stories. Nik Gruber is theBEST.Whether you are a beginner, or a professional in a famous touring band, Gruber Guitars will accommodate you in the best way. You never know what will be hanging on the wall the next time you visit the shop. If you want the best, you need to go to the best.

If I could give less than one Stars I would. Mr Gruber is not a very nice man. If you tell him something he doesnt want to hear he gets mad. We wanted a refund for a guitar and he didnt take our answer into consideration.

Mr. Gruber is a very personable fella, and also the luthier in town I trust! Small shop, no fluff. He might not have the axe you want in stock, but he can build you something from the ground up with custom pickups. My experience taking lessons from Nik was A+ positive, although Im not sure if he still offers them.

Originally when he was back doing Gruber guitars Nic was quite good. The extension to Amped music and the change to the Roberts street address seems to have overstressed the group. Their student contract is just a wish list for music teachers. He did good work on my guitar originally but after Amped open he did bad work on the last piece I trusted to him. I remember this every time I try to tune around the damage he did, which is several times a day. I cant recommend him any more.
