I generally do not like going into stores in this capacity because most of the time I find them in my experience people try to sell you as much as they can but when I walked in here today simply considering looking for a pair of sneakers and socks I came across a gentleman by the name of Wayne.Please allow me to say that the gentleman was fantastic and really knows how to talk to people and will take care of you A to the Z. Everyone from what Ive gathered works pretty hard in here and theyre rather nice as compared to some of the other roadrunner sports Ive been to. A huge shout out to Wayne and thank you for everything!

Stopped in because I was in the area and was immediately pleased when they offered (insisted) on fitting me for the right shoes and insoles (without having an appointment). I’ve been to a number of running stores and they have never started out by insisting on fitting me for the right shoe. To top it off, the salesperson who helped me, was willing to take my feedback and guide me in a direction I felt comfortable. She kept me in the same brand I was familiar and happy with but helped me find a different model to try. Between that and the custom insoles, I was VERY pleased. As much as I prefer to “shop local”, I was VERY happy with my experience at this “chain” store and will definitely return!

Customer service here has always been amazing.This time we had a very knowledgeable and patient staff, Idrissa, helped us. We were in there way way longer than we intended. We did not felt rushed and seem like he knew his stuff. He recommended quite a few shoes for us to try on and he can tell by our walks which are better suited for us.

I first went to Potomac River Running and was super disappointed with the very limited options in stock, so I googled and found Road Runner Sports. I visited this running store for the first time and was super impressed by the excellent customer service and state of the art equipment - heads and tails above the first store. They used 3D equipment to look at my feet from all angles to identify the best shoe for me. In actuality, it just confirmed that I was already using the best shoe for me. Then, when they didn’t have my shoe size in stock for the color I really wanted, the sales woman went online, made phone calls, and found me what I wanted. I ended up needing to order a pair online to be shipped to a military address overseas. She went above and beyond to go online and try a test address for a military family member to be sure it would work, then guided me through the purchase on my phone to be sure it went through properly. I’ve never experienced this level of top notch customer service at a running store before. I’ll definitely return!

Staff was busy and didn’t notice me looking at the shoes. Once I was helped, recommendations were excellent. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought a pair of shoes that just before the 90 days didnt work out for me. The staff attended to me excellently with attentiveness and patience and helped me get the perfect fit and exchange of another pair of shoes. Im very happy with both the service and shoes I received. Highly recommend.

I was tired of ordering athletic shoes online and being underwhelmed so I went to Road Runner. I picked out four sneakers and they felt okay. Then an employee came over. Morgan listened very patiently to what I was looking for in a sneaker and made two recommendations. The shoes she recommended were super comfortable. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

I have been a loyal customer of the Road Runner stores for years - excellent service and they carry a variety of quality shoes. Had a great experience with salesperson Hamad. He was knowledgeable and helpful (and I truly appreciated that he wore a mask). I am a VIP member and I like their generous return policy. You get to wear the shoes in real life for 60 days to return or 90 to exchange. That has been valuable to me in the past. Others in my family get their insoles made there.

I visited Road Runner Sports to purchase a pair of Hokas. Amon was the salesperson, he was professional, patient and kind. He listened to my concerns and recommended shoes based on my needs. Amon treated me more like an old friend as opposed to a customer he was just trying to sell a shoe, the customer service experience was awesome.

Couldnt be happier! Jackson has exceptional service. I would definitely recommend anyone to come see him. He wont disappoint you. He brought out a few shoes for my teens to try on. He was super friendly and the fact that he was into Anime made it more enjoyable for the girls. It was quick and girls were very happy with their new sneakers.

First time at Road Runner Sports, Falls Church. I was greeted warmly and made my way to the female section in search of stability running shoes. A fit expert came up right away to assist me, Hamad who was working away from his home store and assisting in Falls Church that day. I enjoyed our time as he was able to assist me with what I needed, was patient and a pleasure to work with. I did leave with a pair of sneakers. I would say there were lots of brands to choose from and in stock, this was unlike other stores I have visited in the past. Worthy of a return!!

It was another great experience! I have been a VIP member for 20 years. Always impressed. Super easy exchange of shoes, which I had run in, but didn’t like. The sales person who helped me (Adam), was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable.

The store was short handed when I dropped by but they did a great job. Luke was great! He explained everything well and gave me many options to choose from. Their gait test and for zone is quite accurate as well. I 100% recommend this place for running shoes.

Love going here for running shoes. They always take the time to find out your needs and offer suggestions, plus I get to test the shoes on a treadmill first which is SO helpful. They’ll also do a gait test to recommend a shoe for you if you ask, plus if you become a member you can return the shoes within a certain period even if you wore them running. They also carry my favorite sunglasses brand, so it’s hard to step out of there without buying another pair. 😬

Amanda and Jamal took excellent care of me. I had holes in my shoes and they realized I didn’t have the correct width. I got their custom insoles which are so worth it, especially for someone like me who loves to walk and has high arches. The VIP membership is worth it too. Excellent customer care.

No other running store ever properly fitted me for running shoes until I went into Road Runner Sports for the first time ~12 years ago. It turns out I DON’T need ANY bells or whistles. No cushioning; no stability. Just neutral. I respect anyone/entity that gives it to me straight without needless upsell. THAT’s a service hard to find around here these days! I now have their custom insoles in my running, hiking, & “retired” running shoes (the latter I wear for chores). The youngest pair of custom insoles is ~8 years old and the oldest is 12, and they still feel great and in good condition. I recommend. Enjoy!

I have a favorite pair of running shorts that isnt made any more. Morgan was awesome when I went in today and directed me to a newer style that was very similar (and they had a lot of fun colors, too!).I had ordered some brooks chaser shorts off of the website - apparently they were on sale bc theyre an old style - but I hated them. She made the return painless and helped me with a membership that would allow me to exchange the pair that I wore when I realized I didnt like them. Love this place, everyone is so helpful and they have a lot of options for everything a runner could possibly need.

Went in on a Sunday, to buy Altra running shoes. They didn’t have the ones I wanted in stock but they were able to order them to be shipped free of charge to my house. I had them in my hands by Wednesday. Great customer service!

Excellent customer service. 2 employees helped my daughter - evaluate her gait, measure her arches and generally take her seriously while they help to fit her and select new shoes. They were knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and patient. I’m not exaggerating when I say that these two young women’s attention to my daughter in selecting shoes helped her get excited about a running program that she was feeling unsure of. It really takes the sting out of dropping over $200 on a pair of sneakers and custom insoles (who knew we needed 🤷🏻‍♀️)for your 13 year old.

Salesperson, process, and service at this location were excellent, 5 stars. The one star deduction is because I purchased the 12 month VIP membership in-store for $19.99 and 2 days later saw it online at their website for $1.99. The $1.99 is for 6 months vs.12 months, but it would have been nice to have been offered the choice. We called the store manager, and he confirmed that company policy is that they can only offer the $1.99 VIP membership in-store if the customer mentions it. The manager was direct with us that this was a specific company policy, and were giving him the benefit of the doubt for being forthcoming. However, shame on Road Runner Sports corporate for not being transparent about membership options both in-store and online, and for putting employees in this situation.After speaking with the manager, I emailed the company about this, and the exact response was, Trust that the store can issue a refund for the difference if you revisit the store.If I could rate the company and not the store, it would be a 1 star rating.

This is where I always go for my running sneakers and everyday sneakers. They have a great selection, but it’s the service and evaluation they provide that do it for me. You have to take care of your feet in order to take care of your hips and knees and back!

Got fitted for shoes in December for a half marathon I was running in May. Was super impressed by the fitting process and customer service. However, during the fitting process, the sales associate said that my right foot pronates but it wasnt a big deal. Recommended three shoes and I ended up buying a pair. Within a month of training in them, I developed shin splints and could barely walk. Went to another running store to get inserts and that sales associate at the other store told me Im wearing the complete wrong shoes for my feet.My expereience may have been unique, but if your staff cant recommend the correct shoe AND the shoe they do recommend gives the runner an injury then they need to train their staff much better.

I am a member there and I have to say, it helps me to get a lot of rewards and discount. I love to go to this location on falls church. They have the best customer service and everyone is very friendly and helpful. They deserve a 5 stars from me.

I was in the store on a busy day. We have been VIP members for over a decade. I was disappointed that the personal touch I expected was not present in the store.

Guy who helped me was really nice but the their are no prices on things as far as I could see and the price tag adds up fast here. I got some really nice, but expensive, socks here once that are great for running and really durable.

Great qualities to have in your sales associate. I had specific qualities I needed for my shoe that I was looking for (wide foot, getting a men’s shoe, but I’m a woman, & chaffing issues, & more). I’ve probably been wearing too small shoes for years, now that I’m running more! It was such a great experience, that I hope he stays and grows within the company!

Great customer service! I came in thinking of purchasing the Gaviota 3 (for stability reasons) but it didn’t have the support I needed (overpronated and slightly flat footed). The sales associate (Tewayne I believe) recommended a stability shoe he wore himself for the same issues, and that was the one I ended up getting! He recommended the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 (I got the Black/ombré metallic), and I wouldn’t have gotten them if it wasn’t for him.

Had to take in my girlfriend’s shoes we had ordered from the online site and the entire process went quickly, and the customer service was amazing. Doug asked what shoe we needed, came out with the right size in multiple color options and was a joy to talk with while my girlfriend tried on the shoes. Checked us out and sent us on our way. Would definitely recommend this store to people who want a non pushy, informative shoe buy experience.

Terrible experience today, and not because they were busy but the attitude of the employees we encountered. I wanted to try and find shoes for my nine-year-old son who has wide feet. After finding his size I was told that we should just order online- no recommendation for a brand, shoe, etc. after calling around, we went to Pacers Clarendon where we received incredible service, my son was fitted with two women’s size shoes (but black, so “boy colors”), had his gait checked while running and exceptional service. Not only did you lose my business after 10 years of being a customer myself, you lost my families business. You also lost a $350 sale today.

Where else do you find such a wide selection, experienced sales people and the opp to return shoes if they don’t work? 100% recommend!!

UPDATE: I can’t put a second review, so I’ll do an update. I just got my shoes and inserts! I feel much more stable, and confident in my gait. Thank you Road Runner!They did good by me and my son. Thank you Road Runner for living up to my expectations and for taking care of my son. Our family wear shoes and inserts from this business. They have the BEST warranty program. You can wear the shoes and inserts! If they fail within 90 days, they will replace it at no cost! This is only the second time we needed a product replaced. In 6 years and for 3 people, only TWICE did we need something replaced. They have always been kind about it. The VIP program is yearly, and offers discounts and store credit on top of that! Lastly, this is a dog friendly business. My son is loving his new shoes. Time to run! Thank you RR!

I just bought a pair of running shoes from Road Runner Sports today (7/28) and I was very pleased with the experience. Shoes aside, which are awesome, the store is well equipped to deal with the COVID regulations. All the employees had masks and gloves on. The benches, fitting equipment, and shoes were all clean/cleaned after being used. Overall I felt comfortable shopping at RR and I appreciated the effort they went through to be responsible and respectful. My fit expert, Henry, was especially helpful in getting my shoes and insoles dialed in and Im excited to start running with much less pain!
