Pizza was great! As it always is. Good beers on tap. Me and my wife stopped in on a hot and humid Monday night to grab a beer and pizza. We decided to try out their sandwiches. My wife ordered a chicken wrap and I had the Italian. Sub had good flavor but there was little to no meat. For a sub to be 10 dollars I was expecting more, not a subway sub!Ive been going to the original Lost Dog for years and the subs at the Arlington location are much better. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but they have to make better sandwiches than what I received. Staff was very friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. We will be back......just not for the sandwiches.
A very nice place to grab a beer and a bite (been coming here occasionally since 2013)... not to mention that the indoor mural artwork is great and creative! Just hope to see some more craft beers added to the menu (can never have too many), and tater tots would be a nice addition to the appetizers, as well as chicken wings in my opinion. Cappuccino would also make a great drink to have with dessert!
This was my first time here. I had never heard of this place before and I work right down the street, so going after work was a great choice! They had a variety of subs to pizza to pasta! The price was a great snatch as well for the deliciousness of the food! The selection of beer was huge. Karen was our server this night and she provided excellent customer service! She was very friendly and knew what to recommend when I asked her. The artwork inside the restaurant is also neat! I will definetly come back and recommend it to others!
When I see the word “gourmet” used in marketing/advertising descriptions of pizza I expect a flavor jamboree which was not the case for the pepperoni and mushroom pizza I was served at Lost Dog Cafe. Old Dominion Pizza in Arlington is my taste benchmark standard for excellent pizza in NOVA in my taste opinion. LDC pizza dough was totally bland and uninteresting compared to ODP’s flavorful corn meal dough. LDC toppings also lacked strong flavor profile by comparison. Using the word “gourmet” indicates to me farm fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I would be stunned if LDC verified that.LDC beer selection is commendable. I appreciate that LDC has bottle Pilsner Urquell which is reason enough to come back. Would be a nice touch if they had Pilsner glasses. Carrot Cake icing was a bit cloying but saved by distinctly flavorful fresh black walnuts and fresh raisins in the cake. My guess as to $7.95 (let’s call it 8 bucks) a slice price. Coffee was pretty good with it.The staff was friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. Could not ask for better in that department. I like the light color wood square bar design having 5 bar stools with backs on 3 sides of the square. The cafe is exceptionally clean. Their pizza box should win a design award for its solid construction and the Lost Dog logo that covers the box top and includes QR code. I hope they find their dog.Pizza = 1 starCarrot Cake = 3 1/2 starsThe rest of the package = 5 starsPizza really drags down the overall to 3 stars. I am compelled to give heavy weight to the pizza component because of the loud marketing/advertising that it is “gourmet” which, in my opinion, it is not.
The food and drinks were good with extensive beer options, but the service was not. We went late on a Sunday night and it was not especially busy, but it took over 25 minutes before we received our drinks and required me to flag down a server twice.Near the end of the night, a woman who I believe was the manager took over and did a much better job with everything. Had it been that way from the start Id have given 4-5 stars.
What happened to the dog collars?Even with that missing this place is still amazing, the sandwich selection is amazing and always tasty. There is no way everyone in your group can not find something they like on this menu. The pizza is also really damn good! Now the beer selection is also on POINT!!! such a great tap selection which is backed up by an expansive bottle and can selection.
Such a good local spot. The food and drinks were delicious and the everyone who worked here was super nice. My partner and I will be back soon for the amazing sandwiches and a cold drink.

Had the opportunity to stop in and get the full experience this past weekend. With a wall that opens up the patio, great food, a pretty fly bar set up, and great seating options, Lost Dog is only made better by it’s impressive menu and banging food. The pizza here puts any chain to shame, and the team members are all super friendly and chill. Will definitely be back on my next pass through the area.
I have now had two bad experiences in a row with Lost Dog in Dunn Loring. I ordered lasagna online for pick up. The restaurant was out so they substituted spaghetti with meatballs without getting approval from me first. (If Id been asked I would have selected singing else. )Whats worse, the spaghetti was hard and dry, with minimal sauce and 2 meatballs cut in half. Hardly an equitable substitute!The manager told me they wouldnt argue with s refund, but I had to go through Uber Eats. Another nightmare. It require the app on your phone andnd chat. After 20 minutes, they told me they couldnt process a ref refund because the order was still live. I need to try again in 3 hours.This has gone from being one of my favorite restaurants to one I wont be doing business with any more.
That menu is so overwhelming! I know youre trying to keep variety because of the pandemic and what it probably did to your business, but please simplify it! I feel like you can do a lot better by focusing on things and perfecting them, I would go again just for the fact of what this Cafe represents.
I paid $11 for a 6 inch over toasted price of bread with a single sliver of meat. Some cheese and sauce. My wife and daughters food came out fine. Service was good. My meal was a joke.
I love the place and the atmosphere but the pizza is probably some of the worst pizza Ive ever had and I eat a lot of pizza. The crust isnt even pizza dough, its like pita dough. And theres too much cheese for that type of crust. There has to be balance. If you want that much cheese, u need a crust capable of handling it. Balance is the key. Funny thing is that Ill probably still go back for a sandwich and a beer.

Super subpar food. $12 for a sandwich I couldve (and shouldve) just thrown whatever was in my fridge between two of slices of rye and $15 for pasta that honestly was just like bland tasteless noodles, grocery store sliced chicken, and stale and burnt garlic bread. Yeah nah could do better with some dollar store ingredients. Overrated, over-priced, and underachieving like me in high school
Staff is overall good. Pizza and sandwiches are pretty good. Most other things are not made fresh from the kitchen in an effort to save $ by restaurant….and you can taste it. Beers can be good but WAY overpriced. Almost never have a good sour or cider on tap. IPAs and lagers seem to be their thing.
Great food, and this establishment has been here a while. Usually has a small crowd for drinks and food nightly. Lots of to go orders.. we love the sandwiches here the most. They have fun beers and sodas too. They have pizza and its just ok. Kind of heavy of the bread for me. I see lots of people getting pizza though, so you might like it. I like the Sab Diego with tuna.. has avocado.. its huge, a real meal.. maybe 2 from it. Great prices in this area. The specialty sodas and drinks include shakes and black cherry nom noms. Fries are good, waffle cut. Not a huge fan of the bean dip, but the food I eat here is so tasty. So many beers for people to choose from its insane! Easy 5 star.

Absolutely amazing! One of my favorite places to go because of one of their bartenders, Wren. He goes out of his way every time to make my experience a positive one. Speedy service, great drinks, and even more amazing laughs.

Lost Dog Cafe in general has some of the best pizza in the area, just wish they could get a location in Woodbridge some time in the future. The staff here are always friendly and the food is top quality.

Everything I get from Lost Dog is either sloppily made, Very Greasy, or has no taste. I am not exaggerating. I just dont get all the other reviews because I have not tasted anything from here that tastes as good or better than another place. I think the people like the social aspect of this cafe. Lost Dog has been my go to for take out and casual dinners since moving to the neighborhood 2 years ago. They consistently deliver good quality food and service. They have such a wide selection of specialty sandwiches that I get something new every time. They also serve a lot of local Virginia beer and cider, which I love. Pizza is hit of miss, but everything else is so good! Limited outdoor seating, but a large bar and dining area inside. Also the online ordering system is simple and quick.

Unfortunately they have been consistently off for two weeks. The food is never the same and now always not worth the money. I love two mins walking distance and it’s a shame. They do well because people are too lazy to leave the area otherwise not good. Pomodoro pizza in fairfax is the way to go. I would rather drive. You let us down lost dog.
When I initially saw this place I thought it was a place where dogs came together to talk about why their owners trick them into thinking the ball was thrown. Even though I was wrong, it definitely did not disappoint. They have a variety of beer, pizza, and sandwiches. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The best part was the awesome doggo art on the walls.
So you find yourself in a place called Dunn Loring. You just got off the metro rail from having a wonderful day at the museum in Washington DC. You decide to walk around the local area and you have a recommendation from a local to try a nice little beer place called The Lost Dog Cafe.You walk in you see some of the funkiest art on the walls I dont know who the muralist was but theyre awesome this little hand-crafted place has got a thousand different beers in the cooler a heck of a microbrew beer menu and awesome sandwiches, pizza, and other dishes all very affordable and all very delicious. My son had a meatball marinara $8. It was awesome he was only able to finish half and then he finish the other half for breakfast the next morningThe food is excellent the service was outstanding it gets 4.5 stars because it almost has too much beer if thats possible.Please if you are in Dunn Lorung near the metro and want a great beer and pizza go to the LOST DOG CAFE.They also support local animal shelters. Good on you guys and gals.
Starting to see a downward trend with the product the kitchen has been putting out. Not sure if there was a change in mgmt or food vendors or what but it’s showing in the food and the reviews. It’s the only neighborhood deli/pizza place here and lately it’s been looking like it’s struggling for customers. Hope it’s not too late to turn it around to the former glory this place once held. 👎

Love this spot for a beer and a game. Jon and the rest of the bartenders and crew really make this place comfortable and a blast. Dan is great. Trivia game is killer. And indoor outdoor, food solid, good beer.
Dependable. Every time I go to Lost Dog, I try something new. I have yet to leave less than impressed. Whether its a takeout order of your favorite sandwich or a happy hour round of beers at the bar, theres something for anyone to enjoy here in Dunn Loring. A special kudos to the bartenders on our last visit for informative updates about the local craft beer scene and stories behind some of the rotating selection. Stop in!

Lost dog is a local staple. Im a big fan of the phoenix sandwich. If you have room for dessert, the peanut butter pie is like no other. They also have a wide variety of worldwide beers, if thats your thing. Plus they support a non profit organization!
The restaurant provide a delicious pizza, and sandwiches. Their employee is also helpful and providing a nice service. I like it and i would like to visit it again.
Great pizza and sandwiches. Lots of unique options for both. Great beer selection with a lot of coolers where you can just get some beer to go. A little pricey on the to-go beer though (but it is cold).
We love this place and eat/carry-out at least once a month. Have never had an issue and the staff is great. The parking situation can be a little hairy, but thats not LDs fault. I usually order the El Presidente (sandwich) on GF bread or the Great Pyrenees (pizza) + bacon on GF. This time I tried a new sandwich and it was really great. The El Presidente is stilly favorite though! Husband loves the National.Went for lunch and got to sit outside. Infant/newborn enjoyed it too 😂

Going here is a nice treat for lunch. I enjoy the food and the environment is nice. Lots to choose from and the art on the wall tells the local story in such depth Im always wanting to read it. When there was a mistake on my order they bent over backwards to fix it. During the pandemic they have offered a good carryout option.
Pizza anything but gourmet and such a disappoint since it was my first delivery and great reputation. One topping, olives, almost nonexistent. Wheat crust good, but it was not even close to a $30 pizza. 😒

I admire this restaurant! They offer excellent food, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that restaurant is an expert, I like very much tasting all their dishes. The food is always fresh, the service towards the customers is good. I frequently visit this place and I was never unsatisfied. Highly recommended.
Great neighborhood bar/restaurant with a huge selection of beer you can bring home with you. They usually have some really good stuff on tap as well. They have an absolutely huge menu which can be a little overwhelming at first, but everything we have tried has been great so far.

Love this place, my favorite for beer and pizza.I would recommend not to go crazy with topping, keep it simple, pizza is great as is.Get also the waffle fries, it is really nice as a side while waiting for the pizza 🍕

This place has a great menu with lots of options. Its a sandwich shop that serves/sells beer. Comfortable, you can watch sports us its next to a parking garage so its very convenient.Ive never been there when its too busy. Go to lunch during the week. Its great. 👍
I love going to this place. Always a good experience. We tend to sit outside a lot (weather permitting). The beer selection is always good, and the food has never disappointed. They are also dog friendly at the outdoor seating. Definitely recommend checking Lost Dog out.
While visiting family, we went there to eat dinner. I ordered am individual bacon and onion pizza, garlic bread with cheese and marinara sauce, and a chocolate shake. It was all delicious. I also tried their onion rings someone else ordered which were also delicious. Everyone else in our group enjoyed their food. Service was great. If youre in the area, you should definitely eat there.

The Lost Dog Cafes are awesome. We love patio dining with our pooches. They have huge menus with pizza, sandwiches, salads, soups, and much more; probably over a hundred items. Everything we have had is good. They also donate to the Lost Dog Rescue. Great fun place.
They operate a great eatery but with care towards dogs. They support animal shelters. They have swag that will allow you to show your inner pet lover. The atmosphere is great also.

I love this place. It is a hidden gem in the Fairfax area. The food is good - especially the sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and the cool thing is that all pups are welcomed. My dog enjoys to be out on the patio and enjoy his water, treats, and plain chicken breast. So wonderful! Its my favorite spot for Friday dinner with my boyfriend and pup!

One of my favorite local haunts. Great beer selection with an ever rotating tap lineup. Bar staff is very chill and the whole place has a really relaxed vibe without feeling like a dive bar either. Food is really good! Tons of options. The place is great to catch a baseball game in the summer when they have the garage door open.
Lots of choices in good and beer. Friendly server made us feel welcome on a busy Friday night. We had a 5 year old with us who was offered a kids mealAdult individual pizzas were generously sized. Our groups vegetarian felt she had plenty of menu choices. Noise level was high but manageable, conversation was possible among the group that had people in their 60s, 30s and the child.

I LOVE Lost Dog, and this location is no exception. Nice, new, clean inside. They offer/can customize to your dietary restrictions.. Dairy Free, Gluten Free, etc. Trivia was fun! Thanks for trivia AND food I can eat :)PS: add their garlic mayo to any sandwich, you wont regret it!
Great hot sandwiches in a casual Cafe. 50 sandwiches too chose from. They also serve pizza. Sandwiches are large and very filling. Staff are nice. They support dog and cat rescue. Also have wines and beer. Parking is the tricky thing - free parking in a garage, check out your options to find the closest spot to get to the Cafe

I wish there is a zero star horrible place and delivery service, the delivery guy called police for us because he assumed no adult at home just because kids opened the door and took the order plus it’s so expensive for poor quality microwaved food..They my forgotten their self and started to offer other services “literally in the afternoon no one ordering food and at night people comes for wine “ they should either make this place only a bar or switch their change their activity to be a child protective services and call it lost kids cafe... just mind your own business...
This place gets 5 stars for the AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!! Hands down, this place has great customer service.My friend and I decided to go to Lost Dog for lunch today. I am vegan so my food options are quite limited in this area. From the moment we arrived, our server was very courteous in greeting/seating us; accommodating our request. As we placed our order, my friend decided to create her own sandwich. The food came out in a timely fashion but her order was all wrong. She asked for grilled chicken on whole wheat bread and they brought her a sandwich with no chicken on a whole wheat sub roll. We addressed the issue to our server who tried to correct the mistake; when the sandwich came out, the chicken was more like deli meat vs grilled chicken. He kept trying to correct the issue because he noticed the dissatisfaction on her face. Without making a fuss, she tried eating it and just set it aside and continued eating her french fries. Again, our server tried correcting the issue but we let him know it was okay. As he brings out our check, he told us that he took care of her sandwich, and when we ordered dessert, he told us, it was on them.To our kind server, thank you for your attentiveness and great customer service. You made our day.
Never had a bad meal. The ambience is great, the drink selection is solid for beer fans, and it is a welcome change from chain restaurants. Give it a try!

This is now my go-to place for sandwiches because they have a huge variety, and everything Ive tried has been great. The Bird, Bowwow, and Carolina Dog have all been great. They also have a huge variety of pizzas and other stuff. Ive only had the food delivered, so I dont know about the physical location (though it looks fun), but the deliveries have always been fast, well-packaged and still hot.
Has a family dining area and a bar area separate. The walls are hand painted which gives it a good vibe. Menus are huge and a little over whelming. Has the feel of a local bar.
