Came here because I wanted some Russian food items that are not in any other stores. The babushkas are super friendly and sweet and helped me find anything I need. Will definitely be making this a regular on my shopping list, items in good condition, fresh, and have a good deli assortment. Highly recommend their homemade black bread and pelmeni.
I want to give zero star for customer service of one of the cashier who works here with short dark pixie haircut!!! The way she responded on our question about price was very rude and the face she made too, so I hope someone can work on that!Food is good
Everything tastes good but they need to put packed on and sell by dates on all of their products. I am only speculating because one salad had the dates on there and was very fresh, the other vinegret salad had no dates at all (maybe reprinted sticker as it got closer to sell by date? Otherwise why would the labels be inconsistent?) and it went bad the next day with an old odor and all that. I did sample the salad as the lady offered me one and it was fine from the top at the time of purchase based on that sample, but no fresh salad develops an odor and goes bad the very next day unless it is several days old, which I suspect. More than half was thrown out, all mushy bottom half so it had to have been days old. From now on I’ll only buy products with the proper dates on there and won’t risk with ones that have no dates on label, sample or no sample.
Never stepped into a Russian grocery before so I was not sure if it’s gonna be awkward before I entered this one. The lady behind the counter is very nice and helpful. She recommended a most popular kvas to me. I was able to find the garlic kielbasa there which tastes exactly what I remembered. The store is very tidy and clean. Love my little trip there.
Here you will find a variety of produce/deli you got accustomed in Russia/ex-USSR -- cheeses; meat produce -- kielbasa, koreika, pastrami, salo; chocolate (Babaevsky, etc); buckwheat; etc.
I prefer Troika Gastronom in Falls Church. Better selection and better prices.
Not a restaurant! To be honest, I only stopped for bubble tea next door. Based on the name alone, I thought this place was a restaurant. Well, it isnt. When I realized it was a little store, my curiosity got the best of me, and I had to check it out. I purchased Russian chocolate, snacks, and hard candies too. It was really fun for my kids to taste Russian candy, and I enjoyed the snacks too. The worker and the owner were both nice, and the store was clean. Prices were reasonable. I should have tried the beefy mini meat pies they had just baked! I will stop again whenever Im in the area for more things to try!
Great place and staff. Everything is excellent!
Love coming here. Very good selection of Russian foods and snacks. I also like to come here to practice speaking a little Russian ;)
Very nice Moldovan and Tajik ladies at the store tonight. They told me a lot about the products and helped me find some good Ukrainian ones - Roshen. Will come back to try the Romanian chocolates she pointed out. Good and interesting variety. 😎👍. Слава Украіні
This is a great store with a good selection of food items specific for Eastern Europe. Staff is helpful, friendly and fast. I am grateful it is located in Fairfax which is very convenient for me.
The food is amazing and fresh, there are a lot of food and candy options the people are really nice and the customer service is great.
A wonderful little store, great selection of goods. I happily found my Georgian products - Borjomi, tyemali, adjika, sulguni and more!
New Russian market in the area. They have common Russian salamis, smoked fish & meat. I am more interested in their caviar and a host of different honey. A good find for me
The reason I’m giving four star is because little bit pricey, otherwise everything is great fresh food and great service
A great store, I recommend it to everyone, very tasty sweets, fresh products, polite staff, I never thought that I would fall in love with a Russian product, this store is one of my favorite shops
Great place for Russian products in Fairfax. The store is well maintained and easy to navigate around. They have my favorite Russian chocolates here. This place is family owned and has more of a personality than most grocery stores. The staff is helpful with any questions you might have.
Having this store so near campus really helped when I was homesick. The selection is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They even have kosher goods!
The best and perhaps the only place on Main St. of city Fairfax where you can buy Russian food. A fine and delicious selection of cakes and chocolates exquisitely decorated. A well-organized place with polite staff makes it the number one choice for flavored bakes with a Russian touch.
I just got scammed of 30$. An hour and half ago I purchased $104 worth of food, among which a jar of salmon caviar - Ikra for 29.99. When I got home to NE DC just a few minutes ago, after an hour and half direct drive to my house, I unpacked the bags to put things in the fridge. The jar of caviar wasn’t in the 4 bags . I went out searched my car and wasn’t there so I called the store. The lady working said she doesn’t speak English when I began to ask if I left the jar of caviar there, she handed the phone to a customer who proceeded to translate for the lady who said not only there is no caviar jar there but that no one today has bought any. She didn’t give me a receipt, and it is my fault for not asking for one I realize. Its unacceptable though for her to lie and say no one today has bought any when she handed that to me at the store and checked me and all the things I bought just an hour and half ago.
If it was in a better location where more buses would stop Id given it five stars. Otherwise is the best Russian grocery with great deli meat selections. 👌👌👌👍
I like all our Russian stores in my area. We do not have large Russian community and we do not have much choices like in New York - Brooklyn - Brighton Beach or in Mariland. Any time I go to one of those stores, I can have something what I cannot buy in other stores.I like THIS store particularly because of friendly stuff and it is convenient when I am in Fairfax. Thank you Zurab for your hard work and giving us a piece of Russia in America.Спасибо Зурабу и всем кто работает в Русских Магазинах!
Great little store. Really good Chocolates and Honey Cake.
This store carries Eastern European foods and beverages (rye bread, egg pasta, sour cream, red beet and eggplant based salads and soups, sour cream, pierogy, cured meats). They also have fresh salads and baked goods, best on weekends and during holiday season, in my experience.
Ladies here very nice. Great selection of my favorite chocolates, loved the black bread! Just like I remembered it!!
Good selection, nice people, reasonable prices. Fairfax needs this store, its the only one where you can get rare Russian delicacies! I got a jar of caviar, some oreshke nut-shaped treats, and squash spread.
Excellent Russian food. Made me feel nostalgic
Crazy customer service, only one employee and you have to wait long time,
A nice place to find classic Russian goods.
Ridiculously well stocked and the staff is very friendly.
Very nice clean store
One of my favorite grocery stores
Great selection of things Ive not been able to find anywhere else.
Drove 30 minutes in traffic, arrived at 7.29pm and the doors are closed. Lady did not want me to come in. Very frustrated after all, despite the door sign which clearly shows 7.30pm. Well this is how you lose a customer :(((
Typical European grocery
Great selection for Russian products without the communism.
Moskow sausage and sun flower babushkini i like!
Id visit this store whenever I want some Kvass.
Awesome Snacks and quality food
Love this place
Lots of bare shelves and the prices were much higher than other Russian stores Ive been to.
Russian food..
Good store! Excellent selection of products. Polite staff will always tell you what is better to choose. Here I buy excellent kefir, cottage cheese, sausages, caviar, dumplings, sweets, mayonnaise and fish. Also in the store you can buy pickles, drinks, spices, various chocolates and many other goods. I recommend visiting this store!
Delicious Romanian meat pies and puffs.
The best store of Russian products! Always the best and the freshest! ❤️
People, I am looking for a real drink Tarkhun Ossetian, Georgian or some other Caucasian producer. I remember that a couple of years ago I saw familiar glass bottles from Vladikavkaz in a Russian store not far from Washington, but I can’t remember which one. If anyone knows such a store please tell me. Thanks.
In Troika cheaper!
