Family owned business thats been local for 25+ years. Great service, they came out quickly to measure the rooms we needed recarpeted . We picked colors and they were delivered to the warehouse in about a week, and then they called to schedule the installation, and were able to split the job into two separate days to give us time to shuffle all the stuff in the house so they could work.The installation team was respectful in moving the bulky furniture (sectional, dressers, etc) and did a great job throughout the whole house. The new carpet looks fantastic, and really makes the house feel more comfortable!

We had Clawes install hardwood floors on our upper floor. The workmanship was outstanding and they were quick. 9 people descended on our floor at once including the craftsman who did the stairs. 6 hours to do a 800 square foot floor with absolutely no flaws in the installation. This work included shoe molding in all rooms (4) and hallway. We were so impressed that we stopped in at the store and gave them our thanks for a great job.

We just finished having Clawes install hardwood floors on 2 levels of my home and luxury vinyl tile in my kitchen. They did an amazing job and we are very pleased. The installation was quick and painless and the team was polite and hard working. The follow up service for small detail work was also quick and efficient. The entire experience of this large project for us was made much easier by Roy Clawes and the entire Fairfax store staff. I would highly recommend them above all the other bids I received for their personal service, follow thru and reasonable price. 5 stars is just not enough! I have highly recommended Clawes to many friends and neighbors already.

Clawes Carpet would get six stars if I could. Awesome company that really cares about the customer. I had an extremely difficult flooring job which involved repairing and restoring my main level engineered wood flooring which had been jackhammered due to a plumbing issue. They skillfully ripped out just what had to be removed and feathered in the new flooring. Demo, leveling, and installation all in one day! I’ve had three flooring jobs completed by Clawes in the last 10 years and wouldn’t think of using anyone else.

The workmanship was good but customer service and management are horrible. We asked for an estimate and did not get one until they auto generated one on the day they billed us for work done charging $2200 for 12 hours of work…they will overcharge you for the work amd their management personnel are rude.

Cant say enough good things about this family owned business. The sales people are very friendly and easy to work with but the really impressive thing are the installers. First rate work! We recently had them replace our main level with new hardwood floors which look great. We will be back soon to look at new carpet for our basement.

FIRST CLASS, what else can I say!!!!!! I can not give enough praise towards Clawes Carpets. This company is family owned and it truly shows!!! The very first time my wife and I stepped into their showroom (Fairfax location) we felt that family/relaxed/genuine atmosphere. Jimmy welcomed us into the store and made us feel completely comfortable and made two individuals who had no knowledge besides “yeah that looks nice” into two people who now have an abundant wealth of flooring knowledge. The best part of having Jimmy help us out was the honesty!!! We dealt with some other flooring stores and major companies and just felt they wanted us to buy the Taj Mahal of flooring and they wouldn’t take “no thanks, that’s not within our budget” for an answer. Those places kept drilling it into our heads that everything else is inferior and not to even think about it. This is the absolute opposite of Clawes Carpets!!!!! Jimmy showed us the whole spectrum of products (sorry forgot to mention we were looking for hardwood/laminate flooring) that they offered. And yes they do have the Taj Mahal of flooring options but they also have other levels to choose from. Feeling a bit apprehensive that we wouldn’t get the same price as we would if we used their installers I was hesitant to bring up to Jimmy that we had a family friend that would be installing the floor for us and that we wouldn’t need to use their installers. Jimmy’s response, “No worries at all, that doesn’t change the price one bit.” Man was I relieved to hear that! When you are dealing with over 1,000 sq feet of flooring even adding cents to the price can cause 100’s of dollars to your overall bill. Jimmy proceeded to show us products that fit our budget and not only that but he told us the truth about them, and I mean the absolute truth even if meant that a little cheaper product would be the better choice for what my wife and I were looking for. Who does that these days!!!!! An honest to goodness ethical family run company who has the best interest of their customers at heart. CLAWES CARPETS people!!!!! Use them you won’t be sorry!!!!!!

Carpet was installed in our entire upstairs, plus two sets of stairs. After installation, a flaw in the carpet was noticed and the company immediately sent the OWNER to investigate. Upon review, he contacted the manufacturer; they completed an investigation and found the carpet to be defective. All carpet has been replaced! Clawes was exceptional in responding and correcting the situation. Customer service is important and Clawes receives an A+ from us.

Clawes is a family owned business in our area. I have trusted my work to them for years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their work and the business integrity. I just finished another job with them - replacing my kitchen floor. They found it far more difficult than expected due to unseen layers of old flooring but they took it on and did an excellent job (as always). I highly recommend them.

We recently contacted the Clawes Carpets store located at 9541 Braddock Road and spoke to Roy Clawes about our desire to replace the wall-to-wall carpeting in our family room with hardwood flooring. Roy described various options for us to consider and then visited our home to obtain exact measurements.Roy quickly determined that our stone fireplace hearth would be a unique challenge in order to install the hardwood flooring. To install the hardwood properly, the installers would need to precisely cut a hardwood “picture frame” to conform exactly to the jagged edges of the surrounding hearth stone. There are very few craftsmen who have the ability and expertise to perform this customization. Fortunately for us, Clawes has several such expert installers. Our lead installer and crew were meticulous with every detail of their work. They worked diligently and precisely to create a “hearth picture frame.” The team then removed the old carpeting, prepared the sub flooring, and installed the hardwood flooring. It was like watching artists at work as the installers determined the placement of the hardwood flooring taking into account the color and length of each individual board. The final result is now a masterpiece of flooring in our family room!We are 1,000% pleased with our new flooring. The quality and beauty of the new hardwood flooring and the precision with which it was installed is spectacular. Our experience over the years with Clawes Carpets, located at Braddock Road, has been superb. They provide outstanding products and excellent installation services! Very happy with our new flooring overall and it was done professionally and timely. Very fair pricing and quality. A follow up appointment to fix things was difficult to book but they finally came through today.

Initially I had a good experience with this carpet company, identifying a carpet and color, getting a measurement, and getting an estimate. Salesmen at the store were very friendly.However after the installation there were several issues. Several stairs now squeak, there was a black spot on my area rug, and it was not cut to the proper length. Additionally I asked them to come measure for some additional stairs, but they didn’t measure the correct area and were short with me on a phone call when we discussed the miscommunication. I am going to another company to do the additional carpet installation, and am waiting to see if they will address the issues of the first install.

I was in a bind and they were able to come same day so I could prepare my house for rent. Great customer service, great cleaning, great price! I will be a repeat customer forever!

We contracted with Clawes to do our entire upstairs with Bruce hardwood flooring, including a very-difficult-to-do rotunda area. Price was competitive and the crew of six showed up on time and did a spectacular job. They worked so hard - and I noticed they didnt take a lunch break, so at 2 p.m. I went and got them all Five Guys and set them up in the kitchen. They really appreciated that and even cleaned up the table when done. Their work is precision - and Ive done many woodworking and flooring installs myself - and the accuracy is tremendous. They worked until 8:30 p.m. and got it all done, with an excellent clean-up as well. This is the company you want to use.

Clawes carpet has been recommended to us before, and, having been disappointed in other companies weve used in the past we went there for new carpet for a bedroom, a hallway and two stairs. The staff were friendly, helpful, didnt push us beyond our budget, and arranged for free samples to be sent to our home. So we signed a contract.Fast forward to installation--WOW, 5-star service at *least!* These poor guys; Victor and his crew, had to put up with *no* *air conditioning* on a 90+ day when they had to work on the top level of our townhouse. Not only did they not complain, they didnt even make a face when I explained and apologized for the horrible situation. I finally persuaded them to have a glass of ice water.Their shirts became soaking wet, but they were done in less than 4 hours, and everything is *perfect*, down to cleaning up after themselves to the point where I cant even find anything to clean. They did not cut any corners or do less than a stellar job, even though they could easily have been forgiven for trying to get out of here earlier. Superb!
