I will never again order from Plow & Hearth! On June 18, 2021, I placed an order for a fire screen. This company sold me a product that wasnt even in stock. After they charged my credit card $269.95 that day, they sent me a message 3 days later telling me the product wouldnt ship to their store until August 31st. THEN on July 1st, they sent another message stating that my order would not ship until September 14th. When I placed this order, I opted for store pickup because I live in a neighboring county to Plow & Hearths location. I wanted to order from them because they are a Virginia-based business located very nearby to where I live. What a disappointment!When September 14th rolled around and I didnt receive an update to pick up my order, I called the 1-800 number listed on my order confirmation. The customer service woman I spoke to was not at all friendly, but assured me the item was scheduled to come in that week. I waited... still no word after more than 3 months of waiting. So I notified Plow & Hearth in writing (email) that I wanted to cancel the order and receive a refund. In the meantime, I ordered a screen from a different company, which was delivered in 48 hours.Lo and behold, a day after I requested my refund, Plow & Hearth sends a message that says my order is ready for pickup at the store! The message provided pickup info, and they never addressed my request for a refund.Today, I called the 1-800 number again and explained that I had previously requested to cancel my order and requested a refund. I told the representative that after 3 different shipping dates were promised and after waiting more than 3 months, I had finally given up and ordered a fire screen from a different company. There was a long silence, and then she asked me if I had called the store. I was confused. I said, No, I called the 800 number listed on my order confirmation. I dont have a store phone number to call. This is the number provided.She said I can give you the store number. I said, But I placed the order online. She said (very sarcastically), Yes... thats the only way this works. Its all online. I said, I dont understand why I would need to call the store then. ... Another long pause... she says sarcastically, AS A COURTESY! BECAUSE THEYRE HOLDING IT FOR YOU!I asked to talk to a manager, and the woman said, That wont be necessary. I said, You guys sold me an item that wasnt in stock. Youve held onto my money for more than 3 months. Youve failed to keep me updated on when the item would be ready for pickup. I had to buy through another company, and youre telling ME to contact the store as a courtesy?? Um, no. You need to simply cancel my order and issue a refund.I could NOT believe how ridiculously sarcastic and rude their customer service representative was with me! And that was the SECOND time they were rude by phone. So needless to say, I wont be ordering from Plow & Hearth ever again! What a terrible experience!

Quite unhelpful on the phone! I called to inquire about an outdoor furniture set. After the employee picked up, I said, “hi, how are you?”; the response was, “I’m sorry, what do you need?”. I told her I was calling to inquire about an outdoor furniture set which I had seen as a display in their showroom. She was not able to give any straight answers regarding the cushions-simple things like are they water-repellant. Asked if they ever have any specials or sales and her response was a vague, “I don’t think so”. Perhaps she was busy with customers; if that was the case, she could have simply told me so and taken my number for a call-back.

Excellent products but what really blows me away is the customer service. They’ve gone out of their way to help with Xmas returns and exchanges. They even allowed me to pickup my online order even though they were not opened yet due to a mix up with google online hours vs actual store hours. Happy Holidays!

Was really caught off guard when I was called “untrusting” by the sales associate for asking that a box be opened to ensure the item was right. I still don’t see anything wrong for asking to see the item before I paid $100 for it when packaged in a plain, nondescript cardboard box. Have made numerous purchases in the store, never seen anything like it. May not be back for good.

I love plow and hearth merchandise however I will only be doing my shopping online after poor costumer service at this location.

Nice selection of Fall merchandise, so its fun to browse to see whats new. They also carry Life is Good tshirts which I love.

I love this store! They have a great variety of outdoors, gardening items during the spring and summer. Love the selection! They also have good sales at the end of the season. Overall the staff has been nice and helpful.

Looking for the unusual home and garden item . . . this is the place.This evenings shopping excursion was for a large can of peanuts that were on sale (30% off list price). We purchased two for gifting.We also picked up a autumn themed rural mail box cover for 75% off.Our only regular priced purchase were two woven bags for hanging shower bursts.Folks were nice, but check was so, so slow it was painful.

We always like going to Plow & Hearth. They let dogs in the store and give them treats. Our girl loves going there.

Called ahead to make sure they had the item I needed in stock. They only had 1 left in stock so the guy on the phone slapped my name on it and held it behind the counter while I drove there. Walked in, paid for it, and they carried it to my car. Took 2 minutes. Best shopping experience I could ask for.

Lots of interesting stuff, and the staff is usually peasant. The problem is the shoddy quality of some of the merchandise on offer. After purchasing a series of products, ranging from bird feeders to lamps to holiday ornaments, that proved to be very poorly made, we have stopped shopping here

I have had a mix of very good and very poor service. We like the selection and there is always something new. I will give then another chance.

Sadly, quality of products seems to be declining. Bought and had to return a table and couple other products. Priced high, but poor quality. Hope they listen to customer feedback and improve quality.

Its been very hard for me to maintain my garden on my own in the recent months. I have hired these gardening professionals and theyve been coming to do some gardening work every week and theyve been doing g an excellent job.
