Ice cream was good and service was friendly, but I just can’t justify buying a “large” cone of ice cream for $8.00 the size of the cone was not that large to begin with. Along with a Shake being listed at $10.00! The value just isn’t there for me. Nonetheless as mentioned it is a neat little place with good ice cream

Friendly staff and delicious ice cream.Stopped in and surprisingly there wasnt a line.You really cant go wrong with anything that you order. My kiddo got the blackberry buttermilk honey with a cake cone, which reminded me of a berry cheesecake. My husband got an ice mocha, which was good, but I personally prefer ones from Mocha Dans.

Used to be even better, but still a more fun place to get ice cream than the grocery store. A walk up, order though the window, receive at the next window place. Go here instead of a chain. An authentic part of being in Fairbanks. Different flavors in addition to the standards. When they run out, they run out. In Aug 2021 a pint is $9. Most folks just get cones and sit around eating them...outside seating and even an outside pavilion. I didnt notice if it had tables and chairs.

Sure, I like ice cream. This place far exceeds your standard ice cream. From your yummy staple flavors to unique and tastebud bending delights. Catering to every palette, sensitivity, or urge... I dont have a favorite but the Cinnamon Java Shake comes close!If you want cheap, bland, watery, lactose free soft serve... Well, they have that too! Do you want it in a cup? Cone? A bucket to take home? OK!Can be a little pricey depending on what youre after but if you know how good ice cream is made its very reasonable.

Oh my gosh. Best homemade ice cream. We plan to hit this place up again before we leave cause its so yummy and the flavors are new everyday.

Were just visiting and Im really glad we found this spot. The ice cream was amazing and creamy and tastes homemade in the best way. We got cinnamon shower and brownie brittle. Both were amazing flavors

Hot Licks has great homemade ice cream, including unique and local Alaskan flavors. Open until 10 pm with outdoor seating its a great place to visit in the summer evenings while stating socially distant from other customers.

Awesome unique ice cream flavors, they usually have new flavors everyday, got to try coffee Oreo and Carmel apple, was delicious and rocked my world, they offer military discounts, best homemade ice cream I’ve been too! Lots of choices on the menu, will be coming a lot !!! Worth every buck!

Was really excited to try this place but sadly we left disappointed. We ordered an ice cream sandwich, and two ice cream cones. The cookies of the sandwich were soo over baked, almost rock hard. The coffee ice cream tasted good but had a weird gritty texture. The vanilla ice cream was good. The prices are a bit high for how little ice cream you get.We also had to wait almost 10 min with one car in front of us. When it was our turn we noticed that they do move a bit slow lol.Overall it wasn’t anything crazy and definitely not worth the price you pay. I don’t foresee us coming back.

Vegan Review: Hot Licks almost always has 2 options for vegan ice cream! One or both is often a sorbet, but they will occasionally also have non-dairy versions of their various flavors available. My favorite that Ive had lime soft serve.They are very fast considering how popular they are. There are sometimes lines of 30 or more people, but they really know their work and get orders out fast and, as Im sure anyone with dietary restrictions that makes special orders will want to know, I have *never* seen them mess up an order.My favorite thing about Hot Licks, though, is that there seems to be very little or no waste products in an order. There are just napkins, and thats optional. I do not know if these are specifically biodegradable, but they arent the heavy paper versions you see at fast food. They seem like a very good business.

My husband and I love love love Hot Licks Ice Cream. I enjoy the flavors of the day - especially the ones made with locally grown and harvested berries. They have tons of menu options and flavors. I highly recommend getting an ice cream sundae - it comes with whipped cream, a cherry, and several topping options (my favorite is almonds and strawberries).Hot Licks is truly a local favorite so if youre in town just visiting be sure to add Hot Licks to your list of places to go.

They dont give you a lot of ice cream. Just one little scoop on top and your cone is empty. The ice cream was good. We also had the cookie sandwich which was tasty.

Awesome ice cream made in-house. Lots of coffee-based flavors. The soft serve is also really good, as they have a vegan orange sorbet that can mix with the vanilla, making it like a cream-sicle.

I only gave this rating because there was no line when we drove through and we still waited over 15 mins for 3 people to make one shake and one double scoop cone AND it cost $19.25. Their customer service was lacking. It was hard for me to ask for the straw, spoon and bowl I had ordered in the beginning and I forgot to ask for napkins (they didnt give any napkins either). I dont think it was worth it to go again.

The best ice cream in the interior. I have eaten ice cream here for 25 years, and it has been consistently top quality. The seasonal Alaskan flavors always make me drool. Alaska Blueberry is simply the best ice cream I have ever eaten. They combine the intense tartness of the Alaskan Blueberry with the sweet creaminess of their ice cream to create a flavor worthy of the best childhood memory. Add their amazing crunchy waffle cone, and I am in desert heaven! Thank you for providing such an amazing desert all these years,Yes the ice cream is expensive, but the best is worth it!

Only downside I have is the cashier didnt know the whole menu. I asked about the Madagascar chocolate bar and she had no clue what I was talking about. I got my order much faster than I expected since it was a little busy. The price is reasonable for the great quality of ice cream. Definitely have to come back to try more flavors and their other treats.

Terrible and the price is rediculous

Great place to have a nice cold sweet ice cream. They are so creamy and delicious. They are only open on summer and its a must visit place. The line can be long sometimes but its worth it. The staff members are nice and accommodating. They let you taste test some stuff first if youre nice about it. The ice creams are great and- just go there and taste it.

Visited recently after a 20 year break. Even though they had grown considerably, they maintained the quality of their product. Delicious and they did a wonderful job handling the crowds. Its busy for a reason.

Different flavors every week and the rum rasin is awesome.

Great ice cream, but they have cut back and are now only seasonal. They always have chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, and then plenty of other flavors. Chocolate lovers will love Prudhoe if they have it. Alaska Blueberry is great. Waffle cones are always nice and crispy.

The best ice cream Ive had in Fairbanks. Well priced for high-quality ice cream and good service. All the flavors Ive tried are delicious, so you really cant go wrong here. The only downside is that theres always a line, but its definitely worth it.

If you are in Fairbanks in the summer, you have to stop in and try a scoop of Hot Licks ice cream. Their flavors are delicious, serving size is adequate, and prices are okay. Its a once or twice a summer type place for us. They do have a rewards program to make the value a bit better. Overall, you have to go! The Prudhoe was my favorite!

Best ice cream in town make sure to make it to their free day. I really like their flavor free ice cream varieties. Including sweat cream, and, cream. Overall this place will serve you some very nice white smooth cream.

They never have dairy-free options for those of us who cannot have dairy. The old owners use to have some really great dairy-free options. The service the last few times I have taken my kids has been pretty bad. The employees seem like they hate their jobs.

Premium ice cream is an understatement. Very flavorful, rich and creamy ice cream.It costs a bit more but its worth every penny.

Underwhelming and overpriced. I believe this place was at its peak about 10-15 years ago, and has been steadily going downhill since. We go for the experience of going to an ice cream stand, and so the kids can play on the adjacent playground. Texture seems to lack the butterfat content of a real super premium ice cream. All that said, theres a rainy day discount, and a means of accumulating points to use on a future visit which helps a small degree to ameliorate the price youre paying.
