Cute little place. Great spot to hang with a friend. Great cupcakes and waffles. There are so many coffee options. I dont drink coffee but it really smelled good. The staff was really nice.
Fabulous food and coffee with good gluten-free options. AND the only place in Fairbanks we found with a mask requirement! Grateful for that!
This place blew us away. I never write reviews hut I absolutely had to come here and appreciate their food. My sister has celiac so this was one of our only options. We had the chicken wrap, mocha and my absolute favorite the lemon strawberry cupcake. It was so delicious and cheap. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Alaska.
A lovely little cafe with vegan options, staffed with some very nice people who provide tragically poor service. The sandwich in my to-go lunch order was made with nearly unchewable old bread, and portions of the order were simply missing. A shame, really - I wanted to like this place.Edit: after posting this review, the owner contacted me and refunded the money for the order, which was exceedingly kind. Added a star for this courtesy.
First time in this cafe with my family ordered pretty simple coffee and waffles but somehow we had to wait over 30 minutes while everyone else in their table who came in after us got all their food. Good coffee but really slow or prioritize other customers first.
My wife loves this place!A lot of good options for her fairly restricted diet, and the best Frappe coffee thingy Ive ever had!Had an issue with an order once and the owner immediately took the time and effort to address it. She is very professional and sweet.
The coffee here is legitimately good and the best in Fairbanks (maybe in Alaska). The espresso was the best Ive had in a few years and the breakfast was also good. There are plenty of alternate options for other dietary preferences if youve got those. Service was fantastic.
This is a great place! I ordered morning deluxe and coffee. It is really delicious.
It can be very hard being gluten free and also having an array of other allergies and trying to find GOOD food while traveling. But let me telll youuuuu. This place hits. I have not had a waffle is years and was able to eat one here. Their GF waffle is everything. Their desserts!!! All GF! I have to be mindful of my language on this review but I tried quite a few of them and it is on the level of great s*x. But here is the kicker: they are so affordable and fresh.
Awesome! Very good coffee and food. Welcoming and well designed (very feminine) space. Friendly and attentive staff. Reasonable prices.I had the mocha here twice. It was excellent both times. Not too sweet. I also tried the Italian wedding soup which was very good (and very hot). WiFi is a bit slow.Did not try anything from the cooler case but that was more of a function of my self control than the attractiveness of the items.
I would come back to fairbanks just to visit this little cafe again. Great food if you are allergen sensitive or vegan. Small dishes are reasonably prices. Flowers outside are beautiful and the statf is lovely.
I have an extreme sensitivity to gluten and soy in addition to being vegan and I loved everything i ate here and the espresso is great too
In our 10 day trip to Alaska, this place is the best we came across in terms of taste, value for money, cleanliness, gluten-free options, vegan options and variety. Too bad that we found this café on our last day of travel and departure via Fairbanks airport. We started with 1 order of their GF Vegan Belgian waffles but ended up ordering 3 more as it was soooo delicious, tried their GF vegan cupcakes, bowl and smoothies and were impressed with every single item we tried. Will definitely go back to this cafe if we go to Fairbanks again.
First time visit to the Owl Cafe. I visited around the lunch hour (1pm), and it seemed steady but not too busy. Fast service, I had a tea latte with the Rose vanilla tea, and an Apple pie cupcake. The cupcake had just thr right amount of sweetness for me. They had many items on the menu that I would like to try so I will definitely be back.
My favorite coffeeshop in Fairbanks! I love the atmosphere, the staff is always friendly, and they have high-quality pourovers & espresso drinks. One of the only places in town where I’ve been able to find a cortado, too. Last time I was in I tried a seasonal special, which was an iced oatmilk latte with rose syrup. It was refreshing and very subtly floral.Definitely don’t skip the food either! Their waffles are sublime, the sandwiches are very good (the turkey & pesto is one of my favorites) and all the baked goods I’ve tried are blissfully delicious. If you’re skeptical of gluten-free pastries, just order a cupcake and try to tell me it’s not one of the most awesome desserts you’ve ever had. I hope the Little Owl will be around keeping me caffeinated and satiated for many years to come.
Cute Café! My son has celiac and he loved their gluten free waffle and confetti cupcakes. Also really appreciate that they use biodegradable and recycled to-go packaging:)
Great place! Celiac friendly, good food, good coffee, and good service
What I excepted was nothing but good things from this cafe since the reviews where full of nothing but great thing but that’s far from the truth I have had some pretty bad cafes over the years but this is by far one of the worst. There food is really bland and there smoothies are far from good. But don’t take my word for it try out yourself.
Nice little spot but was overall a little disappointed on the plate size. It was expensive for what it was. We had the egg sandwiches and the food was fine but our drinks tasted the same even though I ordered a vanilla chai and my friend ordered the spiced. They both just kind of tasted like milk and hers was not spiced. Her was also crazy hot while mine was tepid.
Amazing gluten-free and vegan options for sweets and pastry! The coffee is pretty good, and the tea selection is also very good. The iced tea starts out as hot tea, though, so it become watery. Waffles here are fluffy and filling, especially with the toppings. Generally, breakfast takes a lot longer than your average restaurant because its first a cafe, not a breakfast place. We waited a very long time on some egg sandwiches on one of our visits and havent ordered breakfast since. However! we still always come. For the cupcakes and sweets!
Definitely a place you should check out if you eat vegan or gluten free. Their sandwiches, soup, and desserts are SO good and made fresh. The matcha almond flour cake is my favoite....also the applesauce cookie....also the freshly made waffles. Also one of the few places I know of in Fairbanks that offers oat milk for espresso drinks.
You won’t find better spot for coffee in Alaska! Amazing place!!! Excellent service!
A MUST VISIT!This was the single BEST food we ate our whole trip to AK. I’m so thankful they have vegan options. The pumpkin bread is amazing & the service was great. They have vegan Belgian waffles! I’ve never had that before. I’m not sure our servers name but she had black hair and was so sweet and helpful. She remembered my name and answered all my questions. The regular food is great too (and my fiancé is picky!) I wish we could go back again. Thank you!
Absolutely love this cafe ❤️ this is the only place I eat out from since I found out I have celiacs. I have never been cross contaminated here! And the selection is vast and all tasty 😍 the treats case is well stocked and sooo pretty 🧁. Jackson and Em are always super nice when taking and making my order! (And the rest of the staff, I wish I could name them!) I wish I could give this cafe 10 stars because they deserve it! And the I think my favorite part is that my takeout order waste is compostable ☺️ the gluten free waffles never disappoint. The meze platter is filling, fresh and colorful! And the breakfast sandwhiches have the option to be made into a frittata; have you ever seen that? I havent! I cant gush enough about this place 😍😍 Im in love!! 💕💕
My favorite café in all of Fairbanks.Immaculately clean with staff that take the safety of their customers to heart.Little Owl is a modern yet wholesome environment throupled with first rate service and artful coffee. This location provides fresh coffee roasted in house, coffee from roasters like Onyx and Cat & Cloud, delicious breakfast and lunch offerings (vegan and gluten free options galore), and tasteful coffee necessities. Whether youre the coffee connoisseur looking for the perfect cup or just someone needing a delicious treat with a pick-me-up, this is the spot.
Nice place, friendly staff, clean. The corn bean chili was excellent, the carrot cake cupcake seemed a little Overpriced.
Eggs tasted like they were from a box and not fresh. No flavor (needed salt & pepper badly). Broccoli tasted frozen and not fresh. Actually, the scramble just tastes like it was microwaved, even though I know it wasnt. There was a bunch of watery liquid at the bottom of the bowl, too.Ordered a GF waffle for my son 40 minutes ago and still waiting, while the egg bowl and sandwich already came out 20 minutes ago.Cinnamon roll looks good but is frozen.Update: lemon lavender cake and the waffle were very good, though.Update 2: I LOVE their cupcakes. Will be back again and again for the cupcakes.
Best cafe in town, and the only one I havent had issues with do to my Celiacs
Small cafe with some gf options
Great coffee and pretty good breakfast sandwich. The only place I found in Fairbanks that knew what a pour-over was!
Great cafe! Lots of gf options. Everything is delicious, the prices are fair. Always a great time eating here.
Amazing coffee & yummy food!!!
We are vacationing in Fairbanks and just happened to find this joint through Yelp. Great find! We were jonesing for some fresh foods; salads, sandwiches and homemade soup kind of food. This hit the spot! The Belgium waffle, Tuscan turkey, bean soup, veggie wrap and salads were delish! Definitely a local spot kind of feel.If you are looking for a meal, I recommend ordering two things like a salad and a sandwich, or a sandwich/wrap and soup. Totally worth it!
Nice cafe. As expected it was small and the free WiFi made it perfect to sip some coffee and finish some work on my laptop. The food was good and the staff were patient and courteous.
Friendly staff. Reasonable Prices. AWESOME SALADS!! Calm and comfortable ambience. Free WIFI great place to get a snack and write.
Best hot chocolate drink around fairbanks. The place looks pretty with lights and decorations. They also have a womens cloth shop which has unique collections and fabrics. Do checkout and spend an evening at this place!
Swapped out 2 things, they gave me the orders with the wrong side. Got home and was disappointed to find sandwiches were skimpy on the fillings. This is the second time ordering I have not had a good experience. 😒
Enjoyed the atmosphere, my wife says the coffee looks “pretty.”However.. we were pretty disappointed at the quality and quantity of their breakfast options. You can order a waffle, but if you want syrup and butter, it’s an extra charge.. just seems a little cheap to me. My breakfast sandwich was obviously microwaved, and the eggs were very dry.
This is a great little coffee and lunch spot! We especially enjoy the applesauce cookies and the superb coffee. It could do with a little more space to sit, but they make the best of the space available.
Ive only been there once to ask about soup! The lady working at the front didnt seem bothered at all by my weird soup questions, and even let me taste the soup they had made that day before I purchased. It was delicious and I did buy a couple cups to go. She was super nice and helpful, and the soup was delicious! Cafe area was clean and friendly.
Inside the Artisan Courtyard across from the Farmers Market sits the Little Owl Cafe. You absolutely must come here and order the chai latte. They have the BEST one in town. Also, enjoy a tasty gluten free and vegan cupcake. I mean honestly most gluten free stuff tastes like tar to me, but these cupcakes were moist and delicious. I could hardly tell the difference between a normal cupcake. The staff is always very friendly and they have an awards program too. Love this place!!
Great little coffee place with a wide variety of cupcakes and friendly staff. Definitely something to check out with any visit to Fairbanks. Great for meet ups and relaxing with friends. Relax inside or chill outside and enjoy the sunlight.
Outstanding quality coffee and food for vegan food lovers and meet eaters alike. Meat is mostly chicken salad and the like, but great quality. The best options they have to offer are the treats in the glass case up near the cashier, which has many healthy snacks like parfaits, cookies, slices of cake, and the like. The coffee they sell here is to die for. Overall very clean, great atmosphere and exceptional customer service.
The food and Chai were super yummy. It was pretty busy in there on a Saturday morning, but the staff were smiling, kind, and moving quickly! It was a little bit difficult to find a table, but its a cute little place and hard to hold that against them.
My wife and I have made three three visits and have had great food every time. There is an amazing selection of gluten free options and they actually dont taste like cardboard. It tastes amazing! I had the breakfast wrap and my wife will miss their GF waffles. We came back for coffee and snacks and were not disappointed. Coffee and almond cake make a great combo.
Little Owl Café is a must if you’re in Fairbanks! They have the softest cookies, fantastic coffee and a delightful staff!
LOVE this place! Their staff is very friendly and understanding of dietary needs. They have a large drink menu with several dairy substitute options. A decently sized menu for a cafe, with taste soups! Their baked goods are delicious! They are almost entirely gluten free, with many dairy free and vegan options.Favorite: Cranberry Bread...AAAMAZING!Dislikes: sometimes the music is louder than I would like and they dont have their events posted very well. Ive gone their a few times expecting a nice quite (as usual) place to write and think to just been busy with an event that I didnt even see posted.Plus: First Friday is when they introduce their new features local artist!
I tried their mango and habenero smoothie - wow, what a great spicy kick! Very comfy place with good food, excellent coffee and great service.
Great atmosphere, even during a pandemic!
Very quaint and lots on the menu!
Best crafted espresso in town. Onyx coffee is some of the best out there. Great that they use awesome roasted beans.
Fast service, great aesthetic, friendly staff, and most importantly, GOOD FOOD CHOICES! Theres everything from green smoothies to fresh sandwiches to kale salad to (vegan!) pumpkin bread, amazing taste to EVERYTHING, lots of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free foods. And of course, theres some cheat foods... My favorite!
Awesome little cafe. Great food and friendly staff. I love that they have their foods labeled as dairy free, gluten free, and vegan. Their food portions are good size for the price.
One of my favorite cafes in town! Amazing variety of GF/vegan food and drink options. Can never go wrong with a tea latte from here!
Absolutely delicious gluten free/vegan sweets. The gluten free wrap is the best I’ve had in town, and that including the ones in the stores.
It was great. The cupcake wasnt stale. The spinach wrap with ham was an okay size. The white mocha was delicious.
1st visit! Food was tasty! Bread was fresh and soft and all the flavors came thru wonderfully!
Oasis of calm and very good food. Great breakfast spot!
Average food/drinks
Lovely space. The best gluten-free baked goods I have ever had! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Fairbanks.
Love Little Owl - Best place in town for coffee! Always have to get a cupcake, too (carrot cake and the coffee-maple!). Staff is always super friendly. Great every time!
Delicious sandwiches soups and desserts and all gluten free! Very friendly staff too. What a wonderful option for the Fairbanks community. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the portions were a bit small for the price, relative to other places in town.
Stopped there with my daughter. Had the most delightful piece of Matcha olive oil cake and coffee by the fireplace. Cute!
Great price, fresh ingredients, and delicious food.
Wonderful vibes and good coffee... Vegetarian and vegan options available.
The whole case is filled with gluten free baked goods that are the best in town. I get the waffles once a week. The atmosphere is cost and the staff is great.
Best coffee Ive ever had. Food is super fresh and delicious. Staff is super nice and helpful. And if I ever need to just relax after a stressful day this is the place to be.
Gluten free & vegan options! Fabulous desserts and padtries
The lower rating is for the quality of food and value. We got sandwhiches and a coffee. The White Mocha was very watered down and didnt even taste like a mocha. They kindly made a new one when I brought it to the counter. It was delivered to our table by a manager I believe. It was improved, but still one of the worse specialty drinks I have had. I got a veggie sandwich. It was small, bland and lacking filling. It also got quite soggy quuckly. I may be rating harsher because I ordered the same items a couple months prior and they were much better quality and value for what was paid. The first visit it also came with a side. This time it did not. The menu still appeared to be advertising a side with a sandwich. I could be completely mistaken and not have realized I was charged extra. They really need include a side if the sandwiches are that small. I really enjoy the location and the staff are polite. I just may stick to baked goods and try a different drink.
Place is super adorable and and has a very chic look and feel. Good food and strong coffee! I think the overall look is awesome and staff is friendly. Prices are good. Made for just a small bite, not large portions. Only thing I recommend for improvement is maybe a coffee refill while sitting down and the Wi-Fi is a tad slow. Overall, will be back!
Love this little cafe! I tried the chia pudding and would love to go get some more
Love the Chai! Great place to sit and talk with a friend or just hang out. Lots of kids in and out from the dance studio next door.
This has to be the cutest coffee cafe in all of Alaska - its clean, up to date, and down right adorable. I could spend all day in here just admiring all the little details and tasteful color scheme theyve got going on.They have tons of sweets to choose from - each one looking more delightful than the last. They have each been made with care and all look absolutely perfect and tasty. Then theres the drink (and food) menu covering the wall behind the cashier counter - tons to choose from. I was so caught up on the coffee and tea selection that I overlooked the seasonal drink section on the far left wall behind the counter. For those looking for something an little more filling than coffee and sweet treats, they have a decent variety of sandwiches and salads with a few sides. Personally I think its the perfect amount - their main focus is on their drinks and sweets as it should be.They also have a breakfast menu for all you breakfast lovers.I ordered the potato salad which was pretty good. I also got a lime tart - an absolutely BEAUTIFUL creation, and a chocolate frappe with coffee in it. The chocolate Frappé reminds me of a chocolate coffee milkshake. Its thick, creamy, and has just the right amount of sweetness.I fell in love with this place for everything they are - great customer service from the staff, cozy inviting environment, and delicious food and treats for a surprisingly low price.I cant wait to bring everyone back with me next time I visit - this place deserves to be shown off.Five stars from me - Id give a hundred if I could.
Best place to settle a craving for some healthy food options or some fresh baked goods. Yummy tea lattes too!
Such a fun place! Highly recommend! Great vegan options!
Nice doppio, great wrap, good service. Lots of gf and flavorful choices. Great tea selection and nice atmosphere inside and out. Well be back 😃
Came here for a nice girly date. It was the first time I had been here, and I had a nice cafe sandwich and a mocha. YUM!!! Very friendly staff, loved the atmosphere.
Fresh and tasty sandwiches and soups. They even have some gluten free options.
Best coffee in town! Amazing friendly staff.
Great food with so many gluten free choices! I asked if they had any gluten free cupcakes, and I was so excited when I was told that ALL of the desserts were gluten free!
The only place Ive found in Fairbanks that sells a somewhat green juice. The food was tasty and healthy and the atmosphere was relaxing. The entire Artisan Courtyard felt like a great place to wander, work, or take a dance/yoga/aikido class. I had a hummous-based sandwich which was delicious. I also tried a bit of their Belgian Waffle which was also very tasty.
Good drinks and eats but the wifi is sooo slow. I would spend so much more money here if I could actually get some work done.
Great food and service. I love the owl deccor it was so cute.
Great atmosphere, good snacks and relatively expansive menu for breakfast and lunch for how small they are. Good prices too.
Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful drink, wonderful ambiance..one of my favorite hometown places for a wonderful time. I was there today..for takeout! Yummm!
We love this little coffee shop! Im so glad a place like this exists in Fairbanks. If you have food allergies/dietary restrictions, this is the place to go! We usually come here in between grocery shopping to grab White Mochas (our favorite, its delicious and not too sweet!) and something for our daughter who is allergic to many top allergens. Usually the soup of the day and quinoa salad are great options for our toddler (really healthy and flavorful) and they provide high-chairs to accomodate little ones which we really appreciate! They have a relaxed, calming atmosphere as well. Money-wise, I personally dont think theyre expensive at all, we pay the same here we do any other restaurant in FBX. Difference is, its all so much healthier.
