Had the country style Benedict, it was very good, and very big. Two slices of English muffin, two big sausage patties, two eggs, with sausage gravy on top. A large portion of Hash browns, π grapes, orange slice, π watermelon, and cantaloupe! Realistically, enough for two people. That and a cup of coffee was $21 and change. A little spendy, but portion is huge. If I could make one small critique, it was a little bit salty. I dont think there was any salt on the hash browns, and I like that, if I want salt, I can put it on myself. To be fair, I dont use a lot of salt, so its possible that many will think its a normal amount. The waitress was also excellent. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. π
Expensive for what you getβ¦pre made out of a can fair. Had to make a return trip due to missing items and/or not what we ordered. Definitely would never eat a breakfast from here again. One person in our group ordered lunch stuffs. Their food looked pretty good and out of 5 people the only order that wasnβt messed up. At $18-22 a person I deserve better.
I would have lived to give 5 stars, but the reason I didnt is solely on management. The server was great, offered Bacon when the steak wasnt up to par. Well prepared mind you, just sour, fault lands on Kitchen Management. Our meals were prepared quick and accurately. Service was a tad slow just because there were a lot of tables, take out orders, and the sections werent split up very well for 2 servers. 2 servers to about 16-18 tables + 3 pickup orders. A bit hectic, but they did a good job even still.Masks required when not at table, servers wore masks. Silverware and napkins brought with food. Menus wiped down post service.I forgot to take pictures.
Hosts were awful. I stood there for several minutes while they chatted with each other without acknowledging my presence. Looked up, noticed me, and continued talking without saying a word to me. If I hadnt been waiting for a friend to join me, I wouldve left. After that, though, service was excellent. Food was decent and average flavor. Portions are huge, though.
Really good breakfast. Waitress was so nice and friendly. Service was fast
Iβve been coming here for fifteen years since I was a kid, the experience has always been wonderful and the food has been phenomenal. That experience changed with today.I stopped in to get breakfast with my father and it took several minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us. Once they did they took us to a table and left. After waiting several more minutes to even have our order taken we noticed people around us getting seated immediately.Fast forward almost 40 minutes of waiting ( It normally only takes 5-10 minutes ) for our order and EVERYBODY around us has had their food delivered. We asked where our food was and there was no response, no acknowledgement, nothing. We asked for it to go at this point and moved to the waiting area. After ANOTHER 5 minutes of waiting we just gave up and left.I truly hope that this was a one off experience, but it was the worst experience at a restaurant either of us have ever had.
Good family dining. My taco salad was kind of salty. Others loved their thick sliced bacon breakfast. Service good but slow.
Interior: Very clean with every other table closed for social distancing. Plenty of space between customers, the entrance is big and open for people waiting for to go orders. Free hand sanitizer for customers. The staff all wears facemasks and gloves, they clean the pens after each use at checkout. Great upbeat music in the background that is family friendly and not to loud. They even have air conditioning which actually cools down the whole restaurant.Food: Its what you would expect from a diner but with fresh, real ingredients and flavor. They have a good sized menu with a few specials that change regularly. We love to order off the dinner menu because it comes with soup or salad, 2 sides, big rolls with butter and dessert. I ordered the grilled chicken breast dinner and it came with 2 chicken breast. My fiances mashed potatoes were real potatoes and had butter. The ice cream was delicious and even had chunks of fruit in it.The chef came out and talked to everyone in the diner. He explained their processes for handling COVID, made sure we were happy and friendly. Up
Great food, friendly staff. Not to wide of variety of American dishes. What they have is excellent! Definitely visiting this place again.
Great food with large portions. Will not have an appetite for hours afterwards.
It took a long time for the food, but it was fabulous!
We come here very frequently and obviously, love it. The ambience is a huge plus for me. I love the wall art, the ceiling installations and the colors inside. The staff is always very friendly - youd be hard pressed to find a more dedicated team of servers. I love the food too - regular diner fare. The French toast, biscuits and gravy, omelets, and waffles are all good options here. We did get boield egg consistency for our poached eggs once so Id be careful of that dish especially if you are looking for a good eggs Benny.
Again. Staff was courteous but food was average. We went there twice and both times yielded the same result.
Great place for breakfast. Good service nice people foods great
Below Average diner experience and subpar offerings. I have one of the worst corned beef hash in my many years of this dish as my benchmark when comparing new diners. Better off driving past.
One of the only real NY diners in the area. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The only place i can order a real Greek omlet. All their dishes portions large, taste excellent, and fresh. the prices are cheap for what you get. One of the only restaurants where covid had not been an excuse to cut back on quality
Wonderful service, I wish I remembered our waitresses name because she was fabulous and clearly experienced. Food was prompt and delicious and exactly as ordered. Strongly recommend the bacon!
After a year plus being separated due to COVID, we got together for some food and laughter. Spacious seating, good atmosphere, for some reason some food was lukewarm and other hot, but it was good and flavorful.
I just cant right now... If I needed to use only one word to describe my experience would be incorrect or teacherπ. Attitude of all but one waitress was arrogant and condesending. Didnt know specials or what was currently being served. Waited for every course on something. Then...after finally getting MY first refill (kids n hubby second refill of soda/1 waterπ) This is your last refill..umkay? Guess we got treated differently because we were touristsπ€·ββοΈ. Usually love finding a local treasure. Wish thats what we did here. But unlike the other places we visited here we will NEVER return! My money will go to McDonalds first! Only tip I will leave them... Dont judge a book by its cover. But the one waitress will make bank before we leave.
Food and coffe was good the person that seats you is a little bit rude but the waitress Jennifer was very friendly I would recommend going there
I have never had to walk out of any place where I went to go and eat. Today was the first. When my fiancΓ© and I went in this morning at 10am, there was one table which had four people. We were immediately greeted and seated. About 3-4 minutes later our waitress came over. In a span of thirty seconds I was reminded how quickly people can be so vile, inconsiderate, condescending, and just downright rude. My fiancΓ© was going to order the two biscuits and gravy meal which is under the egg dishes category of the menu. Clearly it does not have eggs in it, and just to make sure he asked if it would include has browns and toast (on the menu it says omelette and egg dishes are served with hashbrowns and choice of toast). He only asked because biscuits and gravy are listed under egg dishes. The waitress (we didnβt get her name, because she did not introduce herself, she had blonde shorter hair and appeared to be of older age) became very aggressive and spoke down to him and said βitβs not an egg dishβ. We understood that and he said he just wanted to make sure, and then she proceeded to say itβs under dishes but does not have eggs, biscuits and gravy are not eggs or omelettes and then got into his personal space and slammed her finger down into the menu and pointed to where it said. She then said if you want hashbrowns or toast you can order them on the side. When she was done, she looked at us and said, so do you know what you want? We told her that we would need a few minutes, and she just turned around and left. My fiancΓ© and I looked at each other and asked did that really just happen. We then both got up and walked out. Itβs not what people say, itβs that manner in which they say it and the extra eye rolling and disrespect and lack of professionalism that makes it bad. Itβs no wonder why they have a sign in the door saying they need a hostess and waitressesβ¦ with that low level of service.
Very tasty food. Well seasoned and reasonably quick.
Short wait time and good food made for a quick breakfast while on our vacation. Thanks!
Food and service were great! Worth the visit!Super clean place (even the restrooms were smelling great and super organized).
FOOD WAS HORRIBLE, the owner would always come out and greet his customers which is awesome, but the horrid smell of his armpits made me leave immediately. 0/10 do no recommend.
Service was horrible, staff was rude, order was completely incorrect. Wont be going back.
The best clamp chowder in the city, clean, nice service and cheap.
We were looking for a nice place to eat after walking out of a different restaurant. We just happen to see the small 112th Street Diner sign and decided to stop. Boy, are we glad we did. The food was great and the waitress was polite and very efficient. We live 40 miles away but will be returning.
Good old fashioned family diner. Good food, friendly staff. The owner always makes sure to visit the tables.
Outstanding the 112th St has always y a fantastic Dinner just glad it survived the shut down.
Amazing place! Great service, incredibly friendly! I recommend this place to anyone in the area, heck I travel out of town to visit its so good!
Really great food, with good prices, friendly staff and somewhat quick service
Have not been here in a while, menu prices are sky high. 16.00 for a plain hamburger. Watched the waitress drop a pour spout from sparling wine on the floor then put it back on the bottle and put it back.
First time being there. Such a cute place, fun atmosphere and food was good. Would go again
This was my first and last experience at One Twelfth Street Diner. I took a walk with my kids and stopped by this diner to get some food to go. The cashier initially told me that she couldnt do drinks to go, but ended up sending them anyway, which I hesitantly appreciated. After receiving my order and a half hour walk home, I realized the kids turkey sandwich I had ordered and paid for was not present. So I drove back to the diner to get the missing item. The cashier that had originally handled my order insisted that she had given me the complete order. I started to explain the items I had received, when she cut me off and finished listing off the items on my order. I said again that the kids turkey sandwich was missing to which she responded that they would make me another one, but she had put it in with the rest of the items. I reiterated that I would not have driven all the way back to that diner if that were the case. She wouldnt stop saying that she put it in there, which was frustrating as all hell. She was incredibly inpatient, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I spoke to the manager on site, who was very kind and apologized on behalf of the employee. After receiving my replacement order, I drove home and found that I had in fact received this item. The kids turkey sandwich was apparently not a sandwich at all. Its a slice of bread with turkey on top, covered in gravy, which I thought was the mashed potatoes and gravy side that it originally comes with. If the employee had not cut me off from describing the order I received, that would have been the end of it. I would have admitted fault and gone on my way. I called the diner to apologize to the manager and further explain the situation. An employee answered and stated that the manager was not on site, whether this was true or not, I did not have the time in my day to drive back to the diner and verify. Thus, I am writing this review to apologize for the miscommunication and further communicate my lingering dissatisfaction with the young ethnic female employees lack of professionalism.
We didnt get great service. We were told it was busy, they are short staffed. Our food arrived to our table cold. My boyfriend and I got sick that night. Over all unhappt with this place we wont return.
Great service, would have given 5 stars but toast was burnt
Omelet exceptional!Hashbrowns to perfection!Attentive waitress!
Great Eggs Benedict.
Service was a tad snippy. Pumpkin pancakes had no pumpkin and were as heavy as a brick with not enough syrup or butter to go on them. Sausage gravy had no sausage and tasted like a powdered mix with water added. We waited quite some time for the food to come. The prices were a bit higher than what we are used to. I do so miss Jimmy Jacks up at 133rd on the highway.
Food was good, but service was not. Was seated promptly, but took 10 minutes before anyone approached. Once we got our food, never saw waitress again until check given which we had to wait for as well. Could see and here staff all chatting in the back.
Great food, large portions. Highly recommend this restaurant.
When diner was open for sit down dining, I looked forward to enjoying any of my favs with my mom; worlds best clam chowder, excellent chef salads, great omelets, tasty french dips and handmade milkshakes. Ive continued to enjoy to go items to support this local small business. Take a piece of pue to go! Yum!
Great variety menu. Service is pretty good too
I was seated in the back right next to the restrooms.. It was dark and cold. Over priced.... My food was cold and as far quality you can see one star...
Great atmosphere great food great service!
Great food for a real home cooked dinner or lunch this is the place to go great daily specials.
Customer service is absolutely terrible. Claudia was unprofessional and very rude. I called in requesting for a side of Tobasco sauce with my Uber eats order. She refused and began laughing on the phone. I was confused by the whole situation and disgusted that someone can treat another like this. Anyways, will never be back to this establishment and will be passing this experience on.
Always a great old school diner ! Love it
If you like old fashioned portions and great service this place does not disappoint. My wife and daughter and I have eaten here three weekends in a row now and counting lol what can I say I want this place to stay in business its a true gem.
Good food friendly service.
The watras was great an the food was ok.
They have a old school 50s bar theme. Plus an amazing seafood omelette
Honestly we used to love it here. We went today and the service was slow, the food was bad and we did receive the same customer service we used to. Both my husband and I had to send food back for it being too cold or overcooked. I didnt even mention that my English muffin was burned both times my food came out. Just overall a really disappointing experience.
I havent been this disgusted that I can ever remember. Food and service: terrible.
It is very good traditional dinner dishes with great service
We stopped by for some appetizers and what we got was delicious
Very good food and service. We will be back.
Great restaurant with hospitality, kindness, attentiveness and a very pleasant atmosphere!
AMAZING FOOD!!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE
Good food but a little spendy..
Nice place, good food ( my breakfast was excellent and a lot of it). Nice waitress. They are following the safety precautions. Would definitely go there again.
Wouldve been a 5 but someone doesnt always pay attention to the special instructions when you order from Ubereats.Otherwise, when weve picked up phone orders or ate in, the food and service is excellent.
Worst service, basically ignored. Very rude and short service. Had lipstick on the coffee mug they gave me so I kindly asked for a new one that after 5 minutes never came. I just got up and walked out. Not even pros to outweigh the cons. Iβd prefer Starbucks Atleast theyβre kind! The worst part is they werenβt even that busy.
Had the fish and chips today sadly I donβt think will be back be going for many years to there and the food has gone downhill. Staff was friendly and great food was from a box
Good food and coffee. Service was excellent and place was very clean..only problem was the French toast was made of Texas toast ...not the best for quality or taste would recommend using some nice freshly baked bread instead.
Good food and even better service
Great service, good dinner, and exceptional waitressing, in perfect timing and courtesy.
Quite possibly the worst pancakes Iβve ever had. Rubbery, flavorless and dry. Way too expensive for such low quality. Couldnβt finish.
Excellent meal and Service!!
Great food, great service, and nice low-key atmosphere.
Food is great and Jenn a fantastic waitress.
Our go to date night restaurant
No inexpensive but good comfort food.
Best bacon i have ever eaten. Clean
Excellent service Excellent food.
Amazing. The employees and food were great
They have great food. Weekends are fun with their breakfast specials. My go to is 1 piece french toast bacon and eggs
We had breakfast. Food was good
The ambience of this place is of a bygone era. Where we come I go there I wonder where the old school soda fountain used to be.They make really good club sandwiches. Decent Margarita as. They deftly dont short poor.Dont recommend the French ship. The best part of this place is the customer service.
I want to say I am mainly leaving this review because I am so tired of seeing people give small businesses a hard time. Even when they try to resolve issues, you still give them a hard time. You make reservations for 5+, cant sit together at one table due to governor restrictions, and proceed to take it out on the restaurant, during a pandemic. You come in at the last minute to eat and expect a 5 star experience, then leave a 1 star review based on your poor chemistry with the server. Its asinine. You people should be ashamed of yourself. Tldr; give your local businesses a break. Used to live in the apartments next door. Never got around to trying this place. Ordered take out last week, and everything was fresh hot &spot on, just as we ordered; even with my gfs specifications or tomatoes and spinach on a poached egg with hollindae sauce. Read some newspaper articles on the wall while waiting for the takeout, and saw the place is family owned and operated. It seems the owner doubles as head chef. The food was delicious, the service was welcoming and the establishment was novelty and well kept. Cant help but to find myself here, leaving a positive review, in hopes to level out some of the bad ones, but also to point out that just because things didnt go your way one day, doesnt make it right to slander a business on Google or Yelp. I truly hope atleast one of you self proclaimed Local Guides read this and think back to a time when you gave a 1 star review on a bad day, solely out of spite or having a poor demeanor. Thanks.
Very slow service. Not how it used to be. Food is still great.
I always stop by when i get my car serviced. Its walking distance from Klein Honda. I have never once been disappointed here. French toast, eggs, and bacon are my go to and the whole plate is beyond amazing. Do yourself a favor and stop by here.
Best deal on a milkshake in town! Simple menu with old school diner. Club sandwich is very tasty, prices are slightly higher. What I would think is a $10 plate is $14.95, but the portions are HUGE!
Just waited 10 minutes at the register not to be seated. IContact made numerous times with servers not even a greeting of how low or please wait to be seated was made. After waiting we just walked away and decided eat somewhere else.
Bathrooms have an issue, coffee was cold, and crust on French toast was had. Staff was pleasant.
Great breakfast diner
