My family just purchased our first boat from Everett Yacht Sales. Not knowing a whole lot about boats or boating in the Sound, it can be really intimidating shopping for your first boat. All the staff at Everett Yacht Sales are really friendly, knowledgeable, and honestly want to find something that is right for you. The owner, Steve went out of his way to be available whenever needed, whether for a survey or a sea trial. And when it came down to hooking up and rolling off, he and Bryan were both there to make sure the boat was detailed and ready to go, and they even helped trailer and load up all the accessories. We ended up with a great deal on a great boat, and felt comfortable and confident throughout the whole process. Its a great business, and a really great group of people!
Steve and Nick helped me remotely buy a boat since I couldnt travel due to covid. They did video walkthroughs and sent lots of pictures. They helped facilitate shipping to Canada and got me in touch with the right people to get the boat to Canada. The boat was everything they promised and more. We are so happy with our purchase. I feel the price was fair and I would not hesitate to buy from Everette yacht sales again or recommend others do. Thanks again for all you did for us!
Although we love the boat, we thought the sales experience was much to be desired.Steve was too busy to fulfill his promises throughout the transaction. For example trying to get a list of inclusions was like pulling teeth. And the inclusions we were told of have still not been resolved.Always make sure you are in charge of the repairs and in communication with the mechanic yourself. Then you make the decision and not somebody else who keeps you in the dark.Quotes before work performed? Not one. As promised by the way.Be prepared to represent yourself!Like always use your due diligence and know the facts. Don’t rely on what you are toldHappy Boating
We purchased our first cruiser, a Tolly 26, from Everett Yacht Sales just a few weeks ago. We primarily worked with Bryan, but interacted with Steve a lot via phone, during the sea trial, and for final closing. Generally speaking, Steve and Bryan were very attentive to what we were looking for, and I feel they legitimately cared about helping us find the right boat above all else. Their attentiveness to our needs and wants is something I feel is rare in a broker or dealer and was a stand out item for me in our experience. I would certainly go back to Everett Yacht Sales again in the future.
A huge shout out for Everett Yacht Sales and Steve Dittoe! Thank you so much for making our dream come true of owning a wonderful yacht! You were so helpful and easy to work with. We couldnt be happier and you are welcome aboard The Woman to Blame any time!
Steve Dittoe who I worked with took the time to take additional photos prior to my arrival. Took me out on a test run and corrected the issues immediately, that day. The purchase day was a little busy do to all paper work and repairs but Steve came through on his commitment. Highly recommend Steve.
Steve, while we have not purchased a yacht from your company your willingness to go out of your way for virtual strangers is impressive and appreciated. Your knowledge of all areas related to “boating” has been appreciated. I’m sure your company’s attitude and perspective mirrors you. With that in mind we will definitely give you and your company a call to represent our interests.
We had a challenging experience at Everett Yacht Sales. We viewed all the boats on the lot and fell in love with a 27ft SeaRay. Our salesman wasnt able to provide us (brand new to boating) with any insight into whether the asking price was fair or any of the details around the boat itself. He also didnt provide us any insight into how the process went and we felt quite a bit in the dark regarding the process. We submitted an offer on Saturday morning with feedback from Everett Yachts that we would hear from the owner by Monday. They gave us paperwork instructing us to submitted our 10% deposit via wire transfer with lots of red ink stating we needed to verify the wire transfer info with the entities. We called each entity and they didnt have any idea what needed to be verified. Our offer was rejected because a more attractive offer which didnt require inspections or a sea trial came in (we werent even told that was an option!) We are 10 days out from when our offer was rejected and still havent received a refund of our substantial deposit despite calling to ask for it several times. It seems that Everett Yacht Sales is done with us now that they know we wont be buying a boat from them and arent particularly concerned about getting our money back to us. Disappointed and dont recommend. Go to one of the bigger brokers who care about customer service and have the knowledge and experience to help those new to the boating world.
These folks were great. Bought our first cabin cruiser with their assistance. Bryan was helpful, helped us make sure the boat checked out, and went above and beyond each step. Highly recommend.
Very unprofessional interactions from day. I have never had such a bad transaction from a business.New to boating not once did they explain how the purchasing process works. We were interested in a boat. They emailed us the wire transfer paperwork but didnt explain that its 10% down. They didnt explain that we were responsible for survey and inspections etc. They just wanted the down payment it seemed. The lack of communication was terrible.Long story short, they did not handle our transaction from start to finish like a brokerage should.Very shady business and multiple sellers have taken their boats off the lot due to shady unprofessional business tactics. I do NOT recommend Everett Yacht Sales.
This review will be updated once we finalize our transaction or walk away from it all. Yet to be determined. So far, we’ve had some good and poor experiences and as of this moment, we’ve been trying to buy a 98 27’ Sea Ray since June 27, 2020. We saw it, agreed to a mutual amount and paid 10% down in the first hour. We’ve invested in the professional surveyor and mechanical inspection and the boat failed the sea trial, requiring repairs in order to be able to move forward. Now we see that the “pending sale” status on the website has been removed and the SOLD sign also removed from the boat in their lot. How can you sell a boat when it’s already pending sale with down payment made? Buyer beware. We have met all of the contractual requirements. The delays have been on their side. Steve told us they’d make it right by us due to their many mistakes however, removing the pending sale status is a move in the wrong direction. To be continued....Final update on our purchase experience is that we ended up not buying the boat. The seller backed out. Hopefully the next people interested find out all of the problems the boat still has though. We were only told of a water heater leak which we were told the seller has purchased but not installed, but thankfully Rob recommended that we obtain an inspection/survey of the whole boat and motor and that proved to be a good idea as there are some major safety issues and therefore investments the current or future boat owner will need to know about. We decided on a 3 rating due to the ups and downs through the entire endeavor although at one point we were spoken to as though WE were the problem... Customer service should be improved for the buyers.
We heard about Everett Yacht Sales from a good friend. We wanted a broker that understood our boat and knew it would be a bit emotional. We found that with Steve Dittoe and Nick Dittoe. We would recommend them to anyone.
We just completed the sale of our 26’ Tolly. We had some ups and downs on the boat, and would have been dead in the water if we would have tried to navigate a sale on our own. Steve and Bryan helped us and more importantly reassured us that we would make it through the final sale. Throughout the entire experience we didn’t have just a sales guy helping us we built a real friendship with the team. When we are ready to buy our next boat, it’s a simple decision to call Steve! Thank you again.
I cannot believe that this man is still in business! Nearly all of the 5 star reviews here are either from his own employees or personal friends! Not only did he completely bungle a boat(s) sale this summer because he was texting the wrong client, thinking it was another, but he actually locked down a clients boat with a lock so he couldnt take it back after he scrambled the sale! Steve left the boat sales to a kid and not one person to sea trial boats this last summer, we lost out as well because he had no one to test drive a Sea Ray we wanted, that owner took his boat off the lot as well! Steve was busy in the San Juans, to busy on vacation to take control of his new business. Not professional and dont dare state or wear Biden Garb, Steve will ignore you! Please shop somewhere else, unless you like drama!
Steve brought me a deal that made both me and the seller happy. He is people oriented and his team is great.
Dont trust this company - they are not being serious. Read the reviews below.
I have known Steve and Bryan at EYS for many years and can vouch for them as men of high character and moral values. They definitely care more about people and the joy of boating ahead of big profits. They provide a great service helping owners sell their boats and providing a selection of affordable options for buyers. Buying a boat is not like picking up a new lawn mower at Lowes! It is a major purchase and one of the biggest purchases you may make besides a home. Unfortunately some people dont understand the process and have unrealistic expectations. Any problem that may arise can be addressed by the guys at EYS. They really want to take care of the customer!
What a wonderful Yacht Brokerage in Everett. A new business but filled with very experienced boaters and business people. They definitely live the motto, people first. Ive had the pleasure working with Bob Wolven over several years. He is truly a man with high ethics and a true joy to spend time with. The same sums up Steve Dittoe too. You would be making a great decision to work with them on theirs or any other listing from other brokerages.
Terrible seller experience full of threats and stress. I sold my 27 SeaRay with Everett Yacht Sales and it was horrible. Pros: They stored my boat for free. Low 10% commission. They were initially very friendly and accommodating. Upon request, they would reevaluate stats on Yachtworld and try to tune it for more sales traffic.Cons: They left my boat overnight at the public dock (unacceptable). Poor listing quality -- full of typos and inaccuracies. Confusion on the sales staff around whether there was a pending sale and actual price of boat. Upon closing, they offered me a friendly choice of in-house title or using a title company. I chose the title company. A hour later, they changed their mind and strongly insisted on using their in-house title. I disagreed and the buyer and I agreed on the title co. EYS then grudgingly accepted this. However, EYS messed up the docs sent to title co, causing more confusion and stress. So the buyer and I agreed to simply meet at a bank and close the deal as EYS was already paid their commission. EYS became irate, and told the buyer and I that EYS were impounding (taking custody) my boat until I brought them signed title and used them to transfer it. The buyer was so angry and ready to walk. The Everett police advised me that this was not legal and that I should remove my boat ASAP. I arrived early the next morning to pick up my boat and found EYS had attached a tongue lock to prevent me from removing my property. Fortunately, it was the wrong size and was easily defeated. I drove away with the boat and the buyer and I transferred title. It is still unclear what EYS motivation was. Their tag line says people first but that is clearly not the case.
I had an all round excellent purchasing experience with EYS ... the key was full confidence that they were working diligently to arrange a compromise deal for both buyer and seller. Steve and others at EYS know what they are doing, know the marina, the surveyors, the boat yard specialists... so there is lots of help to get a good end experience.
I contacted this company concerning a yacht that was advertised. We made an appointment with Steve to go look at the craft. The brokers at this company really pushed they were a people first company. We hear this a lot in any kind of sales but right off the bat we could see that this was the case with EYS. They was very honest and forth coming. we was like “I can’t believe they pointed that out we would never have seen that until after the purchase” this was a big deal to me being a new large boat owner. I helped me feel very comfortable. We at this day have not made a commitment. But we are getting close. I was able to look at this craft and had time to do all my homework and Steve is still helping me get answers on updates the craft needs to keep us safe on the water. We do recommend EYS and we will keep our dealings updated as we go on this journey, to help other potential buyers feel the comfort we have felt.
We Walked up and Looked at the posted flyers. They got up out of their seats, walked over and locked their door. Whatever.
I cannot speak more highly of the men behind Everett Yacht Sales! Their ethics and integrity ensure youre on a winning team! Check them out!
These guys have been great and very attentive to my needs. Take my phone calls any time any day.
Steve and Mike at Everett Yacht Sale did a great job at getting the seller to meet me, and this made for a great day and boat buying experience. Thanks Steve and Mike!!!
Their motto is people first.... they mean it.
