E. L. Walters stands above the crowd. Their customer focus is on point. All the techs I dealt with have been great! (Thanks Thomas and Zane). Logan, Tristan and Matt were my team when we had to replace our unit. Logan was our estimator and he made sure to come out while the technicians were on site to assure everyone was happy with things and has followed up with a couple of calls and visits as well. He really went above and beyond researching some things for me as well. Nice touch! And a huge extra special THANKS YOU to Tristen and Matt when they dropped everything and showed off their track and field skills when I accidentally let my zoomy dog out and she headed out to the open golf course!! 😆 Thanks for saving her for me!!! The office team is always very pleasant and respectful when I call too. They are sure to explain things well for me. Bottom line….I have full trust in them as a company. You will too.

Our Ac stopped working last weekend and they came out that Monday morning first thing, they fixed it and then today it went out again. They told me originally they weren’t going to be out on Monday. Theresa in the office was SO FANTASTIC and so overly helpful she tried to find someone to come out for us tomorrow on Saturday. Well she called me back and she was eventually able to find someone able to come out the same night. She was so informative and helpful and we were so grateful. Then Tristan came out and had us fixed up to go in no time even answering all my littles badgering questions. We’ve never had to deal with big companies like this before since this is our first home but they really go above and beyond for customers. We are very grateful and see ourselves using this company for many years! One happy and “cool” customer.

My air conditioner initially started having problems in May 2018. I have a Homebuyer’s Warranty through 2-10, so I contacted them to have it fixed. The only A/C company they are contracted with in this area is EL Walters, so they had them come out. They repaired it. The AC started having problems again in July of 2020. I contacted 2-10 in late August and they approved replacing the system. Again, they used EL Walters. The new unit was installed and things seemed to be fine until July 2021. The house wasn’t cooling as well. By the end of August, it wasn’t cooling at all - less than 1 year after having a new unit installed.I contacted a different company to come out and diagnose the problem because it was 95 degrees with a heat index of 110 and there was a heat advisory. I wanted answers ASAP and I knew EL Walters was going to tell me I had to go through 2-10. The technician that did the diagnosis informed me that the furnace evaporator coil was not compatible with the AC unit that EL Walters installed and that they should have also replaced the coil. He was shocked that they did this. His comment was, “They had to know this was wrong and that this system would fail. They probably thought it would last longer than it did and then maybe it wouldn’t be their problem. You need to report this to EPA and they should be responsible for repairing it because they installed it knowing it wouldn’t last.”I contacted EL Walters to let them know the diagnosis. I explained what the technician had said and the receptionist’s response was, “Why would you have someone else come out to check our install?” I thought that response was inappropriate. I told her because it’s blistering outside, my AC isn’t working I wanted answers ASAP. She said that since I used my home warranty company, I would have to go back through them.I contacted 2-10 and they said they’d reach out to EL Walters. Two days passed and I never heard anything. I called 2-10 back and they said it would just be easier to put in a new service request. I didn’t want to do that because EL Walters is the only company the use for this type of repair in Evansville and they had botched the install of the unit.My husband ended up contacting a third heating and air company because he wanted to be sure about the diagnosis. The technician inspected the furnace and AC unit and said, “You can’t put a 410 on a 22. It will make the whole system blow up, which is what has happened here. The way your system is set up, they would’ve had to pull out your furnace to replace the coil. They probably got lazy and didn’t feel like doing that, so they just did this and hoped it lasted awhile.” I wasn’t sure what this is meant, so I looked it up. The new unit that they installed uses R410A refrigerant. The existing coil in the furnace uses R22 refrigerant. They charge at different pressures, so they are incompatible within the same system. Putting R410A into an R22 system makes the pressure too high, so the valves rupture and refrigerant leaks out. All new AC units made since 2010 cannot use R22 because of EPA regulations. Knowing that the system was much older than that, EL Walters should have known the coil would was not compatible.I’m not sure whether or not EL Walters’ technicians installed this incorrectly out of careless negligence or lack of knowledge. Either way, we did not feel comfortable having them come out to “repair” anything else, so we bypassed the home warranty company and paid out of pocket for the other heating and air company to install a new coil and recharge the system. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I know this is a long review, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. I think it is despicable that a company would install something incorrectly knowing that it would fail, be offended that you had someone else check their poor work, and then not even own up to the mistake when there is clear evidence of it.

I operate a small business. EL Walters is the authorized service representative for some of the equipment I use. They were a no call no show for a scheduled appointment to repair a machine that Is down.The following morning, I did receive a call from them apologizing for failing to show up. She then informed me the tech called in sick for today, and they would not be able to send anyone out. Keep in mind, this is on a Friday and I called on Tuesday for service.Having an ice cream machine down in June is not good for my business.

I wanted to give your tech Matt a commendation for a job well done. He was professional, personable and knowledgeable on the Heating and AC in our house. He explained that our system was showing age, but was still a solid unit. He checked our CO2 alarm, never had any tech even ask about it before. He was easy to talk with and we shared many of the same opinions about current events. Not often is a stranger so easy to have a conversation with and yet, thorough on what his task at hand was. The crew came out and was polite, clean and went out of their way to help. I had an old built in gas barbecue that I hadn’t used for years that they discovered was leaking gas. They shut off the valve at the shutoff from underneath my house. This is only one of the many things they did not in the work order. Thanks to the professional and friendly team at E.L. The service tech that came out did a great job and I appreciated them taking care of things quickly. I’m glad I called though after my home buyers warranty placed the claim, because the person that intercepted the messages was out. The home buyers warranty should call to make sure someone gets their claims. Would definitely use them again (friendly advice though-I wouldn’t call folks on a Saturday morning to ask for a review and send additional text reminders).

My A/C went out over the weekend and it got above 90 in our house with a newborn and a 3-yr old. After explaining the situation to Peggy she called me back in NO TIME with new equipment ready to go THE NEXT DAY. Eddie and Triston were the techs sent out and they were AMAZING! I have had only great experiences using E L Walters, twice they have come to my rescue twice when I have had trouble. First, when my furnace decided to quit at Christmas 2015, when I could get no emergency service in my town, once I had contacted them they were at my house within the hour. I needed a new furnace ordered and once it arrived they installed it record time. Unfortunately after the installation I had an unusual issue develop through no fault of theirs, where a gray soot was blowing out of the vents on to my walls. It took a couple of visits from the service techs to fix the problem, but they tried everything and didnt give up until my problem was resolved. My next disaster was when when my air conditioning unit quit working, right before I was scheduled to leave for a business trip. Once again, they came almost immediately after I called and were able to fix the problem so my house remained cool while I was out of town. I needed my AC unit replaced and had them install it once I returned home, which they once again did in record time. I actually live 50 miles from Evansville, so the fact that they can respond in such a timely manner has been greatly appreciated by me. Every single repair technician has been personable and knowledgable, and I have appreciated them being cost effective as well. They always gave me options and explained thoroughly what they thought my issues were and the most cost effective way to fix them. I wont hesitate to call on E L Walters again for future problems and I would definitely recommend them to others. Keep up the good work!

Earlier this summer my grandmothers system went down. We called on a Saturday and set up service for Monday. They set our time for 8AM and Jason showed up right on time! Jason was thorough in finding the cause of the issue and determined her 15 years old system had a slow leak and needed a charge. I called E.L. Walters on Friday afternoon when I arrived home from work and found our tankless water heater was not working. They had a service tech at my home within an hour. After several tests it was determined that the heater would need major repairs. After a short discussion, we determined that it would be better to go ahead and replace it with a new one. The new water heater was ordered and the service techs arrived at my home on Monday morning around 7:30 with a new tankless heater. They were very polite and began working immediately. I was impressed with their professional attitudes as they answered all questions that we asked. They were finished with the install in about 4 hours even though it was not a direct replacement. We tested the unit and set the new temperatures. They cleaned up after everything tested perfect. No leaks, no drips. All of the new water and gas lines looked very uniform and neat. We were very pleased with the service and quality of work. We would recommend E.L. Walters very highly.

Having issues with our a/c, they were able to come out to our house sooner than expected. (Yay)The guy that came to the house, Brandon, was very courteous and friendly, even towards our dogs (which they really appreciate not being left out). He showed me what we, as homeowners, could do to help our ac run efficiently and effectively. In a matter of minutes of him making these minor improvements our ac was performing noticeably better. I’ve been using EL Walters for YEARS. Here’s what I like about them ; when something goes down they typically have the part you need to get ya going the same day. They have techs available 24/7 so if you have a problem they will get someone out to address it. Peggy is who you will speak with often times when you call and she is very nice and professional. That being said, I do wish they didn’t charge to open the “part shop” to grab what they need to work on the equipment. I think that charge is excessive. Some techs are more knowledgeable than others. I would suggest getting the name of the tech that they send out so you can request the same person if you were satisfied with their work. El Walters is one of the more expensive places to hire, but you usually get what you pay for.

Our A/C unit went out 6/28 during the 90° temps. The company who originally installed our system and weve been customers of for 28 years said they could not install a new unit for 4 weeks! We called E. L. Walters and they came out immediately to give an estimate and installed a new system 3 working days later. The technicians were very professional, started and finished the install by mid-afternoon. The office followed up with us that evening and again the next day, which was a holiday. We are very pleased with the new system, the fast service and the followup. We will continue to use E. L. Walters for annual check-ups and service requirements and recommend them to anyone.

When I contacted E.L. Walters Air conditioning and heating, to schedule an appointment for a check up on my furnace they were quick to get me an appointment. They sent out a service man his name was Matt, He did a fantastic job very thorough very nice person. Not only did he come out and do what he needed to do but he educated me a lot about my furnace. After he left I was more knowledgeable about my furnace. I feel he did a lot of work and they were very reasonable in price I felt very good about that whole experience . Hands down I recommend them very highly. Will definitely use them in the future for all of my air-conditioning and heating needs they also did a friend of mine‘s furnace and air conditioning unit they did a fantastic job for her. I moved into my house with 4 dogs. When my local AC vendor came out they suggested I upgrade my system to include a super containment system - the CAP100. After understanding the benefits, I agreed. A 1 regular filter to catch the big stuff like hair and a massive 5 wide filter to catch all the dust/dander from the dogs. I saw a big improvement.Fast forward a few years, I decided I wanted to add the hospital grade UV light to the system to kill odors and freshen the air. As luck would have it, my timing was perfect! The manufacturer had discontinued the product just a month earlier!After doing a bunch of searches and calls, I found E. L. Walters. While no one had the product I needed, they were able to put together what I needed, in a cost-affordable package. From what looked nearly impossible to do the week before, they were able to make it happen. The level of customer service I received during the whole process was outstanding. They certainly raised the bar for everyone else I deal with.If they were local, I would consider using them for all of my AC/Heat system maintenance. I will continue to use them for my replacement filter needs.

I am a Manager at Captain Ds here in Evansville and yesterday E.L. Walters was needed to assist the Coca-Cola guy by lifting the Ice machine off of the coke machine. They called me to assure that I was there and the Coke guy was there before they arrived which I appreciated very much. These two guys did a very very good job. When I had worked at Taco Bell a few years ago there had been a few guys that hadnt cleaned up their messes when they were finished, and so I had expected that when I went out there that there would be some kind of mess when they were finished. E. L. Walters has been very reliable and dependable for me, called for service and usually be here within less than two hours that is include calls on the weekend. Fix It Right the First Time is very important to me and very rare had any problem, very honest about repairing a part or replacing it, the tech would tell you up front which option is more beneficial for that equipment in the long run. Their pricing is very reasonable and beat any prices I had used for the past 25 years. They have been take away the headaches I had with repairs work for the past 5 years at the Olive Garden in Evansville Indiana. One less thing I have to worry about.

I got the keys to my first home and rushed over immediately to stand in it and enjoy it. To my surprise, I found that the AC was blowing warm air. We had an inspection and it was blowing cold air at the time, so I was shocked and upset. It put a damper on my whole new home owner experience and we couldn’t move in until the AC was fixed. We had a home warranty and thought that should take care of it, but placing a claim 3 days after gaining possession of the home threw up red flags and the warranty company decided not to cover it, claiming it was a pre-existing condition. So, EL Walters took great care of us in our time of distress and we appreciate them more than we can say. They gave us a great price and they squeezed us in to a very busy schedule to take care of us quickly so we could start moving in to our home. Highly recommend!!!

We use el Walters for the business I work for. Zack was working on a refrigeration unit that we have and when he walked outside he noticed a gas smell. I am very thankful that he noticed the gas smell so we could get it fixed. He also stayed and waited until vectren turned out gas back on to make sure we didn’t have any issues! El Walters has great customer service also! Peggy is very friendly whenever I call.

Our ac at the house was leaking water like crazy so we called them had it looked at, he fixed some stuff and after he left it started leaking even worse. So we looked and the drain pan for the excess condensation was tilted down so it would leak. Needless to say the person whom worked on it doesnt have a very keen eye and needs to be trained better

Today is our first experience with EL Walters having been a nearly 20-year customer with the ‘60minute’ company. The 60minute company explained yesterday that our 9-year American Standard Heritage 15 needed to be replaced with an $11,000 system based upon the cost to repair a leak in the system and to repair the coil, fan, switch and thermostat. Technician, Brandon, is brother to one of our in-law family members. After speaking with Brandon, who then suggested I speak with the office manager?, Jennifer, I was told Matt would arrive today at 2:30 to assess our situation.Matt promptly arrived at 2:30. After careful inspection, he explained in layman-terms detail the issues with our HVAC system. Two of the issues were identical to yesterday’s story and a few were not. Also note that those two were actually still covered under warranty!!!! Needless to say, we were assured that our current system only needed a few repairs at 1/4 the cost of a new, unecessary system and that our current unit should perform well for another 5-10 years!!My husband and I are now new customers for life!! We are very, very pleased with every aspect! Excellence at its finest. And we made a new friend in Matt.
