An excellent coffee. One might say a proper cup of coffee.Meticulous detail on the crafting of the coffee. The espresso is a light roast, and the wonderful nuances of the Brazilian bean that they use came through. If youre an Aficionado or just like coffee, you will enjoy stopping and having a cup at this place.Espresso drinks and pour overs highly recommended.The interior is modern and trendy, but very comfortable. The theme is black and white, and is worth your stop.

Ordered a Carmel latte and a hot chocolate with whole milk. Hot chocolate was made with water (shouldn’t have left a tip before tasting). Not sure if they put the Carmel in the latte or not but it just taste burnt and was steamed much longer than it should have been. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of coffee, and the drinks I received today aren’t fit for a truck stop. Extremely disappointed, wouldn’t recommend to a soul. Won’t be back to waste my money because there are countless good coffee shops who care about providing quality and meeting customers expectations.

I love this place! The exterior was beautiful and very unique. The coffee was good. It had nice latte art which is always a plus. I got the vanilla oatmilk latte. The iced coffee was alright but my latte was good. I think its good they offer non dairy options.

Tasty and healthy breakfast options such as the everything bagel with egg whites and avocado. Love the lavender latte and their non-dairy options.

I have been to both locations of Proper Coffee in Evansville and I couldnt be more impressed. I had a simple black medium roast coffee this morning at the Eastgate Mall location and in the afternoon I enjoyed a vanilla cold brew latte, while my wife had a mocha latte. Every coffee drink was very enjoyable. My black medium roast was not too bitter, not too acidic, and had a very mild taste. The drinks we enjoyed were both incredibly delicious, smooth, and well balanced. Also, the level of customer service here was on point. We were promptly greeted and felt very welcomed. After ordering our drinks were brought out to us. Ive traveled around the midwest a lot in the past several months and Proper Coffee is a standout and great representation of what a coffee shop can be. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through!

What a great fit, Proper Coffee and Parlor Doughnuts. I found Proper last year and was disappointed to see it had closed, but then I realized the location had changed!This is some great espresso! I stop here every time I am in Evansville and will continue to do so!

Came here to do a photo shoot to escape the rain, the staff is incredibly welcoming, the coffee was delicious and hot, and the atmosphere is chic, inviting, and very relaxing. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Ill start with my only issue, maps got me here but the address gives you the next door sprint. The front of the bld says parlor donuts and coffee which is confusing when you navigate to proper coffee. Its the same place, not too hard to Sherlock my way through it, just felt worth mentioning. Great atmosphere, the staff at the counter was top notch and gave recommendations per my request. Both my chorizo breakfast tacos and cold brew were wonderful. All around great . Coming back with friends and family.Update: came back on 2.22.21Our donut was fantastic, the staff is all friendly and easy to talk to, its still very clean in here and the coffee is great. Top notch experience again.

The Iced Mayan Mocha Coffee was incredible. I stopped here once when traveling through town and was wanting a really good coffee for driving, and I was not disappointed in the least. The cinnamon, chocolate and freshly roasted coffee bean taste - wow, they nailed it. I definitely plan on stopping by here again whenever Im in the area. If someone is looking for a more traditional coffeeshop ambiance/atmosphere, they may not be so inclined to Proper Coffee since it adjoins with a hair salon.

Interesting concept, this place is attached to a beauty school. Different vibe.Coffee was good. Unfortunately I was hungry and they stop serving food at a certain time. Although with it being attached to a place where everyone gets a hair cut, I decided that I probably was better off without the food.

Proper Coffee Roasters was the first coffee company in Evansville that brought third wave coffee fully. Their interpretation of craft coffee from the current wave was executed from sourcing to roast to service, the full third wave experience. While there are many coffee shops in Evansville, they are the only one that could deliver completely.Proper Coffee Roasters did not start out roasting their own coffee, but would sell/make coffee from industry leaders around the US. That was the first indication that the owners had knowledge of the industry, in a way that foreshadowed their eventual success in delivering high quality roasted coffee to Evansville. While their cafe was open on the East side, they delivered on the experience from well trained baristas, to high quality equipment (Slayer Espresso machines, Yama cold brew makers, Fellow Stagg Kettles, Hario V60 pour overs and much more) and a great aesthetic. I went to this cafe hundreds of times while I lived in Evansville during college. For many years I exclusively bought their freshly roasted coffee for my personal consumption at home, until I moved away from Evansville.While their cafe is no longer open, they still roast coffee that can be found at Parlour Donuts and their online store. As far as Evansville coffee roasters, I still believe they are the best roasters in Evansville. So if you are looking for locally roasted coffee, look no further (I am pretty sure I have tried them all)!I do however think that there was something lost in their transition from the cafe, that is likely not entirely their fault, but the circumstances of operating alongside a food business. Where I stand now is they are 5 stars for their coffee roasting in Evansville, but 4 stars for their current cafe experience - at least until they open up a cafe again.Edited: July 7, 2020

Pretty good coffee and fairly decent WiFi. My vanilla latte tasted great (even though the didn’t have any pour overs available while I was there) Staff was very friendly and honestly the only bad thing I have to say is that the bathrooms didn’t smell great (but they were still pretty clean) Would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Since today was my first visit to Berts Diner, I chose to order the Berts Burger, as I prefer to order the classic, or stock burger during my fist visit, as that will give me a good idea of what the restaurant is all about. Of course, I went with Berts Fries, as I cant resist fries with my burger.

One of the best pour-overs I’ve had. I had the El Salvador roast, and the tasting notes were dead on (the strawberry flavor was actually there). Essentially no off flavors, even when I let it cool to room temperature. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

I recently discovered the Green River Proper location, and they have become my favorite coffee shop...or shall I say cappuccino shop, which is my drink of choice. Its ALWAYS perfect, no matter which employee makes it. And thats hard to do. Kudos to the owners and staff!

The coffee shop is attached to a salon school, which I thought was kind of an interesting combination. When asking to use the restroom, I was pointed in the direction through the salon to use their facility. This seemed odd to me, but I was okay with it, nonetheless. I will say, however, the restroom was not very clean and was out of paper towels.

Incredible coffee & extraordinary atmosphere! I had the Lavender Latte - unique, floral & with a hint of sweetness - just perfect! The atmosphere is vintage/chic with cozy leather chairs, tufted couches, weathered woods & lots of outlets for charging your devices. Unfortunately they dont serve food, but everything else was so outstanding they still get five stars! A definite hidden gem in Evansville - Support Local!

By far my favorite coffee shop in Evansville. My wife and I first stopped in just after our honeymoon out of Portland, and we felt like we were back on the west coast. They take their coffee seriously, but theres plenty for the ambitious and casual coffee drinker alike; the Mayan Mocha is our go-to. Atmosphere couldnt be better, vintage west-coast feel with plenty of space, and all the baristas are awesome, seriously. We cant wait for the new downtown location to open up.

Excellent coffee! They roast their own beans and they are fresh. The Brazilian coffee beans they use as their espresso is very complex... Chocolate, Pecan, and some floral notes come thru which excites all the taste buds in your mouth...a very delicious experience. The shop is very comfortable.

This is a very trendy, modern-ly decorated coffeeshop, which was so fun to experience! The employee working was patient and helpful as I took time deciding what I wanted to enjoy during my first visit. I decided on an iced coffee with some cream and was delighted with my choice!

Easily the best coffee in town, whether you want drip or espresso. The prices are surprisingly low, and the place is clean, trendy and has plenty of seating. Overall a great place to relax.

Wowzers! I first encountered them at the Franklin Street Bazaar, their iced vanilla latte is a delightful treat. I purchased a jar of their Columbian beans, FANFREAKINGTASTIC! I was hooked and their nifty jar that just needs refilling is brilliant! I LOVE IT! I confess to being a ⭐$ nut but never enjoying throwing away all those bags! I just tried the iced rose tea for the first time...WHOA! How did I ever live without PROPER COFFEE? Do yourself a favor and visit them on Saturday at the bazaar or at their store by Cicis pizza.
