Very good huevos rancheros, price was very reasonable, $9, and ambience was surprisingly nice.

This place is amazing! My first time there was great! The waitress was amazing and so was the food! I didn’t know what time it was supposed to close and we were there during closing and we didn’t feel rushed or anything. The only reason we knew it was closing is because I saw the store side closed and asked. I appreciated the kindness and hospitality! Definitely go the food is amazing.

Disappointed.When a restaurant advertises authentic Mexican food you would expect that coming from your home country.The food that I ordered, the meat was over cooked (burnt and crunchy) and had no flavor.The price of the drinks, whether small or large, was about the same which it does not make sense to me.The restaurant itself was beautiful and very clean but the food was far from delicious. Im assuming they cooked to American tastes. Being from Mexico, I expected better.

I have a new favorite Mexican restaurant. The guacamole was very yummy. The shrimp were huge and portions were incredibly generous. Dishes were mild enough for mom and there was a spicy sauce on the side that was full of flavor and had a rolling heat that burned so good. We will be back.

I am done with El Piquin. They constantly get our order wrong, and they have thee worst customer service. They never want to Right THEIR Wrongs. Last night was the final straw. The woman who took our order was very rude and impatient. We had to keep repeating things to her and having her repeat them back to us, because of how impatient she was being. We KNEW that she was going to get something wrong, which she did. When we called to rectify the situation, she was still being rude. They gave us and charged us for an extra item that we didnt even order. They didnt put rice on our burrito as we requested, and they didnt care. We are DONE with this establishment. Not to mention, the enchiladas salsa Verde was so spicy, it wasnt even enjoyable. All you can taste is spice on the chicken and nothing else, no actual flavor, just heat in your mouth. A waste of almost $50 bucks. On the hunt for delicious Mexican quisine with actual love put into it. #TheyAreNotIt

I like the shrimp bowl, but it used to be 5 stars. Im not sure what happened but the food is not quite as good as it used to be. You also used to get chips and salsa with your order but its not even on the menu when you order through door dash. I tried to call to order and I was put on hold and no one ever returned. I think the food is expensive for what you get, but what isnt lately. The shrimp fajita tacos are delicious. The salsa is decent, but again not as good as it used to be. I must say, I do live their chips though and the guacamole is good too.

For this review, I will go off what the lasting impressions were, even several days after my visit. Noted, this was my first time getting Mexican food.The 2 young girls at the front, their behaviour was slight. When I asked about a drink they called Jamaica, it seemed a bother. They described its made from flour; being a Jamaican, I know we dont drink flour, we eat flour. So, I stated that misrepresented our country. Then it was mostly Spanish from there and not understanding me.I asked for recommendations on what to order; didnt get any. What I ordered, I expected to come back a lot. Nope, the container was light, for $20. The wait was about 20 minutes too. The rice portion was tini tiny tim. Disappointed. The food was tasteless, maybe the beef had a slight taste, cause its beef. The salad portion was also barely there and had a portion of avocado which i couldnt tell differently from the leaves. It was covered thick in dressing. There was a slab of onion :( and scallion stalk which would also take away from the flavour of the food.The only saving grace of this location is the cleanliness of the restaurant out front, and order. Plus, they had a nifty little grocer at the side. Here is where i should have spent all my money. The guy was responsive. I been craving mangoes since i have not had a whole one in many years. They were there. They also had ripe and green plantain...yes. Oranges, bananas, and several other tropical fruits. I found tamarind....yessss. And some other treats which are similar to those back home. This little grocer is why i gave an extra star.Guys, take note and do better. Make an effort if you decide to serve others.

We wanted to check this place out prior to COVID, but did not get around to it. However, we saw that they offered free delivery through GrubHub...we were NOT disappointed. We ordered the shrimp quesadilla and a steak burrito. The food arrived early, hot and it was delicious! You could tell the ingredients were fresh and food was well seasoned. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

Just tried this place for the first time. FABULOUS and huge portions. My chicken quesadilla had a really nice grill flavor. The guacamole was fresh, great flavor, with nice chunks of avocado. The enchilada dinner was fantastic. The rice was really flavorful, and the enchiladas had great fresh flavor. Can’t wait to come back :)

Awesome food and a very friendly staff. The store next to the restaurant was a added bonus, where one can find almost anything needed to cook at home, great selection of beans, and other odds and ends. I would recommend visiting and enjoying the atmosphere.

Today my first visit here and it will be my last. Waited 45 minutes for my food for it not even to taste good. Food wasnt flavorful at all I feel like they rushed it because I waited so long it was very disappointing. One good thing was the portion size.

One of the popular vendors at the State Center Farmers Market. It’s my fifth time ordering from Paulino and his crew and I enjoyed my meal every time. El Piquin is famous for their delicious burritos, quesadillas, burrito bowls, and tacos. The food delicious and the service was great.

Today was my first and last time ordering from here. I ordered a Shrimp Fajita Bowl for dinner and received it with bad shrimp. When I first opened my container of food it had a funny smell to it. I thought it could’ve been the sauce but soon realized it was the shrimp when I bit into one 🚮. I’m giving two stars since my husband liked his chicken burrito.

The only bad part about this restaurant is that i have to drive so far to get to it. They make great lingua burritos! Not the way Im used to but just as good ^^

The food is amazing! I been supporting since they were down Johns Hopkins farmers market. But every since they opened the new store the service and food quality at this location has gone down.

This is a recent find of ours thanks to my son and his girlfriend. We were collectively blown away by how delicious the authentic Mexican food was, at reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Today we repeated the experiment, and they did not disappoint. Another wonderful meal. A hidden gem.

As usual El Piquin never disappoints. Try their tacos 🌮 😋. $3 bucks each try them all. The salsa is authentic. My favorite is the burrito 🌯 chorizo.

I honestly would give a negative star if I could. The food is flavorless. It’s over priced. Just a waste of money. The customer service is just horrible. If I did not think that me sending my food back that something extra might come with it I would have done so. The look I received for asking why would you put a cold side salad ( which was a spoon of lettuce and onions with a strange dressing) with hot food together and charge me like it’s a meal and clearly it’s a garnish was almost laughable. Never again. This is not authentic Mexican food. Save your money.

We usually love El Piquin! We ordered off their site last night for delivery with an estimated delivery time of 33 minutes. After an hour, we had not heard anything so we called to see the status, and were told 30 more minutes, that theyre very busy, and then we were hung up on. We never got our food.

Been using the delivery service for 5 times now. Honestly I dont know what authentic Mexican is, however the food always comes fast, tastes like is fresh and freshly prepared. The fruit waters, cant remember the name are amazing. Will be moving out of the area and will miss this place. My wife orders the salmon constantly.

We found this place via DoorDash. In the neighborhood this is hands down the best Mexican around. The Fajitas were excellent, little different setup than typical but you shouldnt need cheese and lettuce for them anyway. The Burrito was enormous and a very good value. The Nachos were good and we cannot wait to go eat in one evening. We will certainly order carry out again.

I wish I could give a better review. This Is the second time I tried to order from them on their own website. I called them an hour after I ordered and was told 30-40 more minutes. Then I called them two and a half hours after I ordered then the young lady who I spoke with hung up on me. I suggest not to order from them. I gave up after three hours!

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the food is fantastic! My favorite is their tacos.There are several different types and they are all good. Their bowls are amazing too. This restaurant cooks on the grill on Wednesday’s outside of the state buildings down town and the line is always really really long.. now I understand why the lines are long because THE FOOD IS GREAT. I don’t even like black beans but you can’t taste the beans in the food it’s like it all mixes so well together. You guys get 5 stars in my book. Highly recommend!!

I had one of the bowls and it was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and inviting, and they even have a small grocery store on site. I look forward to visiting again and trying different dishes.

I was in search of a great tasting quesadilla, and I found it! The chicken is well seasoned and the beef tacos were to live for. The nachos tasted homemade and tasted spectacular. This is definitely My go-to from now on.

Food is overrated there is some major flaws for one to much fat in the beef 👎🏼,that should be cut off it feels chewy it’s also very dry I had to drowned it in the provided sauce just to swallow The enchiladas Verde are lacking flavor I noticed that they tried to top it with a bunch of lettuce and garnishes to make it more moist but here’s the thing it just made it “soggy” if your chicken is overdone it becomes very dry and very little verde sauce was added I was going to give three stars until I bit into a weird shard of bone in the enchiladas and nearly broke my tooth very disappointed!!! Honestly this restaurant is overrated the food is nothing special and almost completely flavorless I would not call this authentic Mexican food save your 💰 money 💰 because anyone who would give this restaurant over 3 stars obviously hasn’t had authentic Mexican food and is used to food being just mediocre

Food was good, but found several pieces of hair in the food, I think they OD. On the cilantro, was picking it out of my teeth all night, I would of liked flour tortillas instead of the tiny corn tortillas, but maybe just given that option of choosing would have been nice

Just decided for the first time to give Piquin a try last night .I had the chicken, steak and shrimp fajitas and talk about delicious, the meat was tender and seasoned perfectly.

This place is awesome. Very authentic and large portions. Delivery is even better. They exceed the estimated time by a large margin. You will not be disappointed.

Great food, good amount of food for the price, and everyone in there is super nice whenever I go there.

If you order a delivery, make sure that you get a copy of your receipt. If you do not and you happen to have items missing from your order, you will be out of luck when you call and they respond with you were not charged. Then, after doing the math and showing that you must have been charged, they will respond with sorry, but we are busy and mistakes happen. I have to help other customers.

Food is authentic and salmon is awesome. I enjoyed my enchildas but burrito not so much, full of rice, said salsa verde but had roja sauce. Staff is friendly and they take Visa & MC. Place is clean. Of 4 visits, only one time was not so hot. They do give free chips and sauce at tables.
