I highly recommend Microtech! Larry is extremely knowledgeable and really knows his stuff! My teen daughter purchased her first car, a used 2005 Honda Accord, but after only one week, her audio system in the car stopped working. The Honda dealership was no help as they were more interested in replacing the entire unit for thousands of dollars. Thats when I found Larry at Microtech Audio Repair! Best call I ever made. Just from my initial phone call with Larry, he was able to pinpoint what he suspected was wrong with my unit. Larry explained everything with such clear understanding and expertise that I knew I was in good hands from the start. I immediately brought my daughters car into Larry where he spent quite a deal of time locating the codes for the audio system (we didnt get those either with the purchase of the car) by removing the entire unit from the dash. He determined the problem was most likely with the DVD navigation system located in the trunk of the vehicle and gave me advice as to what my options were to repair it since this particular DVD unit is no longer being made. Larry walked me through a plan for repair from a third-party source and assisted me with the process of what I needed to do. He helpfully gave me his opinion as to what made the most sense for me to get the issue resolved, then told me to bring the unit back to him for installation once it was ready. Once I came back to see him with the repaired unit, Larry quickly installed the DVD unit into the car and set the codes for me. He only charged me the very reasonable and fair price for the original diagnostic visit, even though he worked on my stereo issues two other times. My daughters audio system is now working great, and my family will be bringing all of our car audio repairs to Larry at Microtech from now on. My daughter and I are so appreciative of the honest and reliable service Larry provided, and we recommend Microtech for all of your car stereo repairs and service.
Larry went above and beyond my expectations. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with his work. He helped me choose a better radio to install in my car that I love! I would highly recommend my family, friends, and anyone who are looking into upgrading their radios to go to his shop. He is awesome! He even walked me through the guidelines to my new car stereo that came with a rear camera. I am very satisfied with his work!
I have had several projects with multiple vehicles at MicroTech and I have been impressed with their honestly, integrity, professionalism and value for the price paid. Thank you Larry for your continuing to go above and beyond and terrific service.
Several years ago I went to this place to have my subwoofer removed from one car and installed in another. I had monster cables in place between the stereo and the subwoofer, installed by Best Buy years earlier. I thought for this simple transfer job I would give a local shop a try. Big mistake!Long story short, I was changing out the stereo on my car many years later and discovered he had apparently severed the monster cables and spliced a cheap RCA cable onto the end in its place. Of course he never let me know this happened otherwise I wouldve demanded he fix it with new cables free of charge. Incredibly dishonest, incompetent, and shady. I swear he had his young daughter there as a gimmick to make himself seem trustworthy. I feel so bad about the whole experience I dont even want to contact him for an explanation. Hed probably just claim not to know anything about it anyway. But hey if he is reading this feel free to find my info in your records and reach out to me.Monster cables arent cheap. This guy treated them like they were garbage and didnt tell me he screwed them up. Ill stick with best buy from now on. At least theyre pretty honest about stuff and have someone to answer to, not to mention theyre probably insured to cover mistakes (doubt this place is). This guy makes small businesses look bad. Maybe give others a try but definitely stay away from this horrible place. They shouldnt even be in business if they cant admit mistakes and do right by customers.
I brought my Tacoma in for new speakers and sub woofers.. Larry did great job.... don’t hesitate to call and great service and price!!!We need more small service business like this please support!!
Brought record player to fix. Played twice and stop playing. Called multiple times and wont return the call. Seemed to be nice but my experience was less than favorable.
Larry is great! Installed a Bluetooth in my mercedes when nobody else could!!!
My reason for visiting Microtech was a broken CD player in my vehicle. While Larry was very nice in person and seemed knowledgeable, there were numerous delays in getting an appointment and obtaining the part. Worse, while the unit did function immediately after repair, it quickly broke down again with the same issue. My several calls to Microtech were never returned, so I am out several hundred dollars.
I have 2015 GMC Yukon/Chevrolet Tahoe that the rear DVD picture went out. Larry was very honest and up-front about the repair. Dealer would just swap out my unit with a refurbished one $575. Larry saved me a ton by just replacing the ribbon cable a common problem with these. Give Larry a call with your Audio or Video needs.
Beware.I rarely take the time to write a review but I hope to prevent anyone else from having the experience I did.I took my vintage Kenwood amp for repair and paid the $40 cost for diagnosis. After over a week with no calls returned I went back to the shop and was told by the owner that he was looking for parts but very vague on the actual problem. I waited another two weeks and again no calls returned. I made a another trip down fully intending on picking up my valuable equipment finished or not. He had the amp sitting there and told me it was too expensive to repair without even giving me the diagnosis or cost and after telling me parts were on order.I believe he was in over his head and would not admit it. I had even had to provided him with technical manuals that he couldnt seem to find from his professional resources. The owner seemed kind of disconnected on both occasions. The bottom line is, NEVER again.I then took the amp to Classic Audio Repair in San Diego where they diagnosed the problem on the spot, gave me a time frame for repair and had the work completed for $225 including the diagnostic fee. They contacted me the day before the actual due date letting me know it was completed.I hope this helps anyone out there with valuable classic audio equipment. The drive to San Diego is well worth the high quality and knowledgeable, professional service.
Larry is out to help people make their broken audio.... fixed. Had a car stereo issue. Explained clearly the pricing and did a great job.
Had my stereo stolen. No problem they installed my new radio and everything went smooth .theguy was pretty cool too
I truned in my CD player for repair 7 weeks ago. After a week, I was told the parts for repair are in and I would have it in a few days.I called many times and left messages and sent several emails all with no repsonse. I have not received my CD player back. This place takes electronics, but does not always return them.
