Modern is a well established big family owned and operated business. This is my third time back (16 years total) and having worked for other big name businesses in Erie Pa I can honestly tell you it’s one of the better places to work especially if you are looking for advancement. When I started here in 1996 I had no idea that machining would be my career choice and I actually love what I do. Without modern I more than likely would not be a machinist today.

They have the communication skills of a rock. Tried to do business with them, but they dont correspond.Find someone else because theyll just waste your time.

From my time there it was a well organised company with fantastic communication between sites and divisions.

I don’t even know where to start because there are so many issues with this company. the shift leaders are not leaders in any way, shape or form. They do nothing but treat the employees like slaves and expect you to work like you have super powers to produce an unrealistic amount of parts. They show favoritism to a hand full of employees and treat the others like dirt. One shift leader drives a jitney around while being high on Vicodin. Employees can’t even get a drink or water without fearing they will get yelled at for not producing. If the shift leaders dislike an employee they will gang up on them and either make their job a living hell to get them to quit or make up a bs reason to fire them. This place is not worth your time or energy. Pay is terrible for what they put you through here. Avoid this place like the plague!

Great place to work! My husband has worked there for 45 years and he looks forward to going to work everyday.

This place is a slave shop alot of people quite after one day. I quite after like 6 months.why is this place not shut down. They made us work 12.5 hrs with only two 15 min. Breaks. Its all bs they dont even care about your safty. The main guy always forgot to mention in the meetings safty, but sure loved things to be done fast. Employees they come and go.
