Great place for retro toys and hard to find toys and accessories. They have also open a upstairs lounge with drinks,food and arcade games. If your in the area of it well worth a stop just to browse at least.

This place started off my figure collection. It is my all time favorite store. Whether you are a big time collector, common nerd, or just overall into pop culture, this store is phenomenal. They truly do not allow any blank shelf space. There are figures, board games, and comics galore. I have been going here for 10 years and make it a point to go every time I come down here. I am not the least bit sarcastic when I say I love this store. Thank you so much, actiontoyman, and thank you for one of the most interesting hobbies Ive ever taken interest in.

Many items, pretty organized. Only issue is theres a feeling like outsiders arent welcome. Theres a strong regulars only feeling. Nobody greeted us or asked if they could help. My daughter asked a question about comic sleeves and the response she got was condescending. Wont be going back. Would refer toy collecting friends though as there are many cool things.

Three levels. A GI Joe room. Plenty of dollar bins. A lot of old school figures and a good amount of carded and loose figures as well.

Great store. The owner is always friendly and helpful. If youre looking for something odd to complete a collection, or a piece of nostalgia, this is the place. Huge selection of Star wars and superhero figures. Large selection of older comics to rifle through. Also, really old toys available, like classic gi joes, board games, Masters of the universe, transformers, etc. Give it a go. Youll love it. Just be sure to search the hours first. As of the writing of this review, they are only open Fri-Sun. Ive never sold anything there, so I cant comment on selling/trading policies.

When it comes to the stores contents, its amazing not only for us vintage collectors but also anyone who might just want to relive their childhood with a quick browse. You could walk in as a non toy collector and still find something that, at the very least, brings back a pleasant memory well worth the visit alone. The store is JAM PACKED with classic vintage figures of all sorts; everything from TMNT, G.I. Joe, Captain Planet, Masters of the Universe, The Real Ghostbusters to even more obscure stuff like Warriors of Virtue, Madballs, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Super Mario Bros movie figures etc. The prices varied which is normal for vintage toy shops but I didnt feel like the prices were outrageous one way or the other; Id say they were pretty spot on. As far as I can tell, there arent any other stores in the area that have anything like ACTIONTOYMAN does. Ive visited here about 5 times total over the past 7 years that we were ​able to travel out this way; it truly is a must for me and is what I look forward to most during the trip.Now... the owner. I get it, its a toy shop. Im sure working with small barely coherent children sucks 90% of the time. There are signs clearly stating to see with eyes not with hands yet hundreds of figures get knocked over regardless of the signs. My recent visit was good but not great. Now, I dont ever expect to have my butt kissed as I walk in to any store and I honestly appreciated the fact that I didnt have someone bothersomely hovering over me asking me if I needed help the entire time. However, the store lacked that inviting feeling almost completely. I spent quite a bit, as I normally do each visit, and attempted to joke and make conversation with said owner only to get nothing back in return but a completely blank stare and my receipt. No have a good day or thanks for your purchase. I dont think the owner spoke more than 2 words to me or anyone else in the store my entire 2 hour visit. It was very strange. As a collector, we tend to get excited about our hobby and these places are usually a safe haven for us to freely talk and express our thoughts about the hobby and I didnt feel like that was even remotely possible with this person. I dont expect to be best buds, but a little genuine hospitality certainly goes a long way.

The owner is horrible at customer service. I asked how much some comic books would be worth that I brought in and he said “I don’t know I’d have to look” and then just stood there.

Great nostalgic place. Many generational toys. They have an amazing knowledge of comics and the toys. Similar to Stewart from Big Bang Theory.

My husband had 8 collectables at Action Toyman that hadnt sold in a long time. He decided to go pick them up because they hadnt sold thus far and probably werent in this pandemic economy. He called 3 weeks in a row to ask the owner to gather his unsold things. The first week the owner wasnt there, the second week he was out sick, and the third week my husband said he was coming to get his collectibles. Today he went to the store, the owner accused him of harassment, said my husband called his store $hitty(he did not), and then told him that he had already sold and paid my husband for his missing collectibles. Do not take your collectables here to sell. The guy is a liar. And I read through the other reviews and alot of people think hes rude too.

Warm and welcoming. Family owned and operated. The employees are fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Action Toy Man is great place for experienced and novice collectors alike. They have something for everyone! Excelsior!

Dont let that deter you, everything is for sale and if you have too many toys then sell it to folks like us through the stores consignment program.Check out the comics in the back room and the board games on the upper floors. Great independent retailer & collector. Owner is extremely friendly & helpful & a true fan/collector. Selection is impressive & you can burn through a lot of time just looking. Not a great source for toys your kid would play with due to collectors prices, it wont be replacing a toy store, but for collectors & fans of every genre they likely have something to interest you.

Went there yesterday with my boyfriend and it was one of the coolest places Ive seen in Erie. Every floor was filled with figures that reminded me back to my childhood. The even better thing is, the prices here are amazing. I was digging through comics and had hands full of figures. Its impossible to walk out of there with nothing, I will go back every time Im in Erie now.
